~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

A rainy Day on Tuesday. a stormy rainy Tuesday Night, more T-Storms and heavy rain Wednesday Morning at 6 a.m.
Well, the new Radishes out back would have liked that I believe, have to go check when the rain quits
And the Plants out front sure won't need any watering for a Day or Two, they were needing a little moisture

I didn't get the newly re-edited Video on my BLOG on Tuesday afternoon so I am adding it here
Just took another look at it... After 36 new fades I see I missed one, wonder if anyone will notice?
I might try to change that, but it will take some re-timing of the Finale, just to make ME feel better

My BLOG Tuesday then finished and Posted, Morning routine finished, time to headed down to the Coffee House about 8:45 a.m.
Grabbed my sack of Loot from the Fridge and took off, parked right in front of the Door
In to see Lewis at the last Table where he always conducts his morning Chats, two others there
The Greetings and then I sat down to give Lewuis his package, he reached for his Wallet, wanted to pay me
And I told him 'No Way Jose'... I do not accept payment for any of my Gifts, I am paid with their true gratitude
It was about 9 a.m. then, the others left, Lewis had an appointment so the short meeting was adjourned

So Iheaded back up the Hill and on tothe Fast Stop for my Mornng Lottos, only won $5 again, just not a good Month so far
And back home for a late Beakfast and what to do all the rest of that long wet Day?

Then, an Idea, the Plants out front are about at their maximum for this Season, been thinking of doing a catch up Video
The Rain had gone away, the Sky brightened and we were finally then getting some hazy Sun
And that hazy Sun that sneaked in would even out the contrast from the Sun and Shade, a good time to try the Video
So I backed my Blazer across the Street for more Camera room, toted my Camera and Tripod out front
And spent maybe twenty Minutes covering every view that I could think of, then back inside to edit

And that didn't take much time, I added an Intro and Finale and Music, rendered it and then uploaded to Vimeo
A ahort time later it was ready and I watched it on my TV, nice job, an Idea that came out OK

Nothing much doing the rest of the Day, I did hike out back to check things, all OK but all wet, nothing to Harvest
Radishes looking a little better, still not thinking I will get much of a fall Crop of them
I did pick a couple of ripening Tomatoes from the Plant out front, had to have something to show on here

On to Dinner time, another Hot Dog and Potato Salad was just right, then sipping a Glass of Wine and watching TV
TV was boring so I started watching my own Videos on Vimeo on my TV, the three Garden Videos I had made this Season
Another Idea, put them all togeher as One... HAH! Took my Vino Tinto back to the Computer, fired up the Editor
Added the three Garden Videos, did a little clipping, took the back gardens out of one and then rendered the Combo
Set the Video to upload to Vimeo, then back to the TV for some more Andre Rieu Concerting, a while later I checked the Upload
It was ready, so I played it back on my TV and that was just what I had wanted, to watch my Garden grow all season
The front Plants now just about at their peak, and as the weather cools all downhill from here
But that is the way that Mother Nature has it set up and we just have to go with the flow... and on to another new Day

And so, Cloudy and Rainy looking but no wet yet Tuesday Morning, doing the Usual Computer catch-up
After I got my BLOG finished and posted I remembered an old recording I found in my Music Files
I had a small Digital Recorder back then and I was experimenting with it on Yahoo Kitchen Chat
It was Jock Whyte and I chatting and I managed to record a couple remarks with him, I forgot I did that
Just happened to run into it when searching for something else, thought this morning I would make a Video with it
Then post it on Facebook to see how Sir Jock would like or dislike me taking the liberty

~ The Photo of Me I started with ~

So, started out, I got a few Photos of Jock off his Timeline page and one of me in front of my Computer
In the Photo I had an Image of an interview on the Monitor screen... Then I fired up my 'paint/net' Program
I opened that Photo of me and then 'layered' the three Photos of Jock on it making three different Photos on the Monitor from it
Now I had Six Photos to add to the Video, and added the Recording under each one of them, here's what the Editor looked like

~ The Video Editor ~ With Intro added ~ Photos ~ Audio under the Photos ~

Then added the Music and some Video of Facebook pages at the end to close it and then rendered and uploaded the Video
And I think that was a pretty good success and all done with my first Cup of Coffee on Tuesday Morning... Here's the Video

So, a cloudy day and no plans and after a little running around for Lottos and whatever it staeted to Rain
What to do on a rainy afternoon, was thinking of another old Video I didn't like the Intro I had done
Well. after making those Videos a few years I started making them a little better I think, especially the Intros
I couldn't find a copy of the Video File I wanted on my Computer so downloaded it from Vimeo and started out
I think I made that Video with my old Video Editor, I like my present one a lot better and the 'fades' I now use
The File I had was made with some scenes wtth no fades and others with fade to black and back
I now like to use overlapping fades from one scene to the next, a lot smoother effect, and I made over 30 of those on the new Edit

And then I made a new Intro and Finale and renderd it, then uploaded it to Vimeo, later played it on my TV
I like this latest edition a lot better, now I have this 'Old Video Re-editing' going and something else to play with
Then, finished out the Afternoon and Evening and now let's go play on Wednesday

~ Tiny Harvest for Monday ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Monday Morning just like Sunday Morning... cool but Sunny, what to do today?
Well first thing planned... head down to the Coffee House to give Lewis his Pickles and Relish
But he called just at 8 a.m. and said he didn't have his Car back yet and wouldn't be there, maybe on Wednesday
Well the Pickles are resting comfortably in the Fridge and will be ready for him when he is

So, I needed some Wine and Coffee Filters and off to Price Chopper again, got that stuff
And picked up $20 worth of Lotto Scratchers again, won back just $10... Oh well... someday
Then,I had moved those two big Pots with the Orange Trees onto the Shelf in the Living Room
And they had no Drip catchers underneath, needed something for that... This time off to Walmart
And looked and looked and looked again, finally found a couple of cheap Broiler Trays that were just the right size
So I checked out with those and stopped on the way back for more Lottos, this time I won $11 back
So I spent $41 and got $21 back, total for the Day... Lost that $19... oh well, try again tomorrow

Back to my old Videos Editing, thought one needed a new Intro and some Music added so I got with that
Took some time getting the Scenes just right and the Music timed in with the Video but finished and uploaded
And I like the result better, here it is, a bit boring (Yeah Sigi) so this Posting is just for my Record mostly

And then... a short trip out back again and again not expecting much and I didn't find much
One Cucumber, and that little Cantaloupe, not sure it was ripe but looked like the Bugs were after it
So I picked that one and then two little Better Boys Tomatoes from the plant out front
And that took me to Cocktail time and also to start on some more sliced Cucumbers in Vinaigrette

So then I peeled and sliced the Cucumbers, into the Bowl with Salt and Pepper as I layed them in
Then mixed my Vinaigrette, just Sugar, Vinegar and Water and into the Bowl and into the Fridge
After getting a Photo of my Cantaloupe success I cut it in half and spooned out the Seeds
Overnight then in the Fridge until Morning and then see if it is as good as it looks

~ I beat the Bugs to this sweet looking little Cantaloupe ~

That was about it until Dinner time, what's for Dinner?... well so much to choose from but what's that?
I had a covered plate in the Fridge with some of that Sausage stuffed Poblano Pepper with Cheese on top
You suppose that is still good? Well give it a try, into the M/W... add some mashed Potatoes with Butter
Oh man! That stuff was so much better than the first plateful of that I tried, really delish!

Time then to wind up another really nice Day and see if we can find another one on Tuesday... Charge!

~ Slim Pickin's for Sunday ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Sunday Morning 7 a.m. What for the Day? A peek out the Door... ohhh, kinda chilly at 58 Degrees
The Weather sure did flip fast when we hit September, but they say it will top at 85 later
And as usual not a single Idea what to do on this Day, seems something always pops up though

I did start out early re-editing my City Hall Video for about the 5th time, this time changing the Intro and Ending
Rendered it, burned a Blu-ray DVD and then uploaded the File to replace the previous Video File on my Vimeo site
I have done that for several of my older Videos the past week or so, trying to update them some

So Lotto Scratcher time, headed to the Price Chopper again, bought my $20 worth of Lottos, headed home
And then scratched off only Two $5 Wins, and that's a $10 loss for this Gambling Day, win some, lose more
Then took the Trash out to the Dumpster and trotted around back to check the Crops
And the Season is winding down and the Crops tapering off, still a lot more green Tomatoes
But after a better than expected Crop this Year, the Cucumbers have just about quit for the Year
The newly planted Radishes are still green and growing but I don't have high hopes, I don't do good with Radishes

And on through a slow and not much happening Day... Later I made some Potato Salad and put out a Bun and Hot Dog to thaw
Same old Afternoon routing and then finished that slow Day with that Hot Dog and Potato Salad
And that 'Hebrew National' was tasty with some Mustard and my new Relish Melange experiment
Finished the Day with some Andre Rieu Music and a glass of Vino Tinto... Off to a new Day and New Week now

Saturday Morning, sunny and cool, my kind of Weather, 68 Degrees at Noon amd no Photos taken all day yet
I got an Email reminding me of the Two Day Sale at the Price Chopper, a couple Items on there interested me
Hebrew National Hot Dogs and Farmland Bratwurst, and Hot Dog Buns for 99 Cents a pack and then more
Extra large heads of Broccoli and Cauliflower for 99 Cents each... So I got those Items and a carton of Milk
Headed back home then to unwrap and slip the Buns and Sausages into Bags and into the Freezer for whenever

Then a bit of Gardening Cleanup, out front to put the Sweet Potato Soil back into the Pot
And clip down all the Vines that had climbed up to the Deck, that Project finished for another Season

Then some Cooking Prep in the Living Room watching TV as I clipped the Broccoli and Cauliflower
Clipped off the Heavy Stems and leaves, separated them into Florets and then into large Freezer bags for later
Earlier I had taken all the Sausages and Hot Dogs out of their wrappers stored into bags and into the Freezer
That is... all except one big fat Bratwurst saved out for Dinner Saturday evening

Then my Margarita and while away the Afternoon until 4 p.m. when I headed way over to Hiway I-435 for my Lottos
I got a Facebook Message from my friend Rion, he said he had a bunch of loser Lottos for me
Also I thought he wanted to make his Computer Payment too, when I got there he gave me a big envelope of Lottos to enter
And I bought my Daily Dose of Tickets from him... Then he said said his Payment would be ready next weekend... OK

But all those Tickets were losers, back to the TV and a Glass of wine and a start on Dinner... German style again
I still had some of the De-lish Red Cabbage all ready, and made some boiled Potatoes with Bacon and Onions
Grilled up that big Bratwurst, lathered on Mustard and Horseradish and plated it all up
Now I think that 'Farmland' Bratwurst is better that the Lotto Prize stuff and the highly advertised 'Johnsonville'
It sure was tasty with that Red Cabbage and German Style Potatoes... An excellent way to wind up Saturday

~ The Roundup Harvest for Friday ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Morning Routine finished, BLOG posted, Then headed down to the Coffee Shop... What! No Lewis
Didn't see his car out on the Street, went in anyway to check, then called him, car in the shop
He said he would probably be back to the Coffee Shop on Monday so then I headed to the Price Chopper
Got a Money Order for a needy friend and my Daily Dose of loser Lottos and they were losers

Then I got a call from my Mechanic friend, needed to renew a couple of Car Licenses and was heading over
He has a couple Laptops at home and it's fairly easy but he likes to come over for me to do it

And so he showed up and we got at it, renewed Two License Plates online, then some Goodies
He gave me the Title to the Mercedes so I could get it transferred and licensed in my name
I gave him another Jar of Pickles, a Jar of Dill Pickles, a Jar of Pepper Relish and Two Jars of Salsa Picante... Thank you
Then he wanted to see my Paw Paw Trees, had never seen a Paw Paw he said, well neither had I
But looking for the Four I saw earlier, I couldn't find them, so who got them, more Varmints?

So he left and I got a Bag and went back out to pick a few more late comer Vegetables
The Gardens are tapering off now but still a few items here and there to salvage, now what to do with that melange

Well now, another Project popped up, what to do with that mixture I harvested on Friday
I have made Relish from Cucumbers, Peppers, Green Tomatoes, what else, Cabbage maybe?
Well then, I will invent a new Relish that surely has been done before but not by me... 'Relish Melange'

Into the Food Procesor with all those Tomatoes, Green, half ripe, almost ripe, then into the Pot
Then that little red Mexibell and those Cucumbers, and a couple still in the Fridge
Then a half a Sweet Onion... Some more Poblano Pepper Bits and finally a quarter head of Cabbage
All that into the Food Processor and then into the Pot with some Kosher Salt and Black Pepper
Let that all cook down some and then add some Brine I had left over from making B&B Pickles
First draining all the excess Water from the simmered Vegetables before adding the Brine

Heating the Brine to simmer again and then ladle the Relish into the Jar and on with the Lid
Had a Test Taste before Jarring and it passed with an 'Excellent'... Then cool and into the Fridge

~ My Tasty 'Relish Melange' Experiment ~

Well that was all the action for Friday, closed out the Day with the same old Routine but it was enjoyable
Now Saturday, heading out early for a Super Sale at the Price CHopper, Brats and Hot Dogs here we come!

A Cloudy Thursday Morning, they said T-Storms at 8 a.m. Peeked out the front Door at 7:30 a.m.
Cloudy, warm and humid and the Street was wet, not much rain yet, and no need to water out there Today
And again no plans for the Day at all, something has been popping up every Day to do, what about Thursday?

How many times have I changed the Plant lineup in the Living Room? Changes with the Season, the Plants and my mood
Some Plants go out, new ones come in... new ones planted then harvested, change just happens around here

~ Latest Lineup of Plants in the Living Room ~

Nothing much going on Thursday Morning, same old Routine fimished and then started editing some old Videos
I had posted several old Videos on Facebook, then noticed how much background noise was in some
My City Hall and also the Liberty Memorial Video had Construction noise going on in the Streets below
And in the Arabia Marker Video, Road noise from the nearby Highway, so I fired up my Video Editor
I lowered the noise level in some scenes and added some Music in others, now all three sound a bit better

Ok what then? On into the afternoon but the Day moving slowly until then... Then that Idea for the Project of the Day
I had those nice good looking freshly Harvested Sweet Potatoes staring at on the Table
And they were clean and dry and looked ready for the Recipe... which one? Candied Sweet Potatoes this time
I checked a recipe onlne to refresh my memory and found one I liked for baked Candied Sweet Potatoes
I've made them many times just by guess and they turned out OK, but this one called for Pumpkin Pie Spice
Checked online for that one, I have most spices I usually need... But this one called for Allspice, I was out of that
And low on Cinnamon and Cloves... so back to the Price Chopper, needed Orange Juice too, got what I needed

So back home I mixed up some Pumpkin Pie Spice, lots of goodies in that and can be used for many Recipes
Then I peeled all the Sweet Potatoes, cut them up in chunks and slices and into the Pyrex
Next sprinkled on the Spice and Brown Sugar, stirred them up, poured in Orange Juice and Vanila, stir again
Top with cubed Butter chunks and into the Oven, set the Timer for 40 Minutes, out to stir and then back in for 20 more Minutes

~ My Home Grown Sweet Potato Masterpiece ~

So on to Dinner time, after the usual afternoon, the Menu... Ham, Sweet Potatoes and Cole Slaw and it was just fine
The new Recipe for Sweet Potatoes wasn't much different from my usual one but was pretty tasty at that
And I have enough of those left for a few more Dinners, that was a good sized Harvest from one sprouted Sweet Potato

That was it for Thursday, now what's on the Docket for Friday? Oh yeah, head down to the Coffee Shop
Plenty of time before that, 6 a.m. now, BLOG done, no other plans for the long Day ahead

~ Sweet Potato Vines giving up Now ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Wednesday Morning, I love these cool Mornings in the 70s, but it won't last long, not quite going to 90 today
I finally did get everythng watered out front late Tuesday Afternoon, needed to water out back today
Probably first thing after the Sun peeks up a little and I get my BLOG Posted and my Crossword worked

And then out to water the Plants at 7:30 a.m. First next Building to water those I planted over there
Then out back to water the new Radishes, the departimg Cucumbers got some Water too
Then the Pepper Bed and then the Tomato Bed, lots of new Tomatoes in there now, they will continue until Frost
Last the Cantaloupe Cage, about ready to abandon that Crop, Ants got another of the ripening Melons
Apparently the Sulphur Powder didn't help, have to see if I have some other Bug Spray in the Pantry

And it looks like the Sweet Potato Vines in the Pot are also giving up for the Season
Won't be too long before I can dig out the Roots and see if there are any Sweet Potatoes hiding there

And so, off again to seek my Fortune at the Minit Mart, not bad... Won $20... Broke even
Back to the Price Chopper, this time won $35... $15 ahead... Back once more... Won $5, Even up, no profit for the Day
And back home. taking another look at the Sweet Potato in the Pot, Yellow Leaves? When to harvest?

Got online...'When to harvest Sweet Potatoes?' Says any time after the Leaves start to turn Yellow
So... let's do it... I cut the Vines loose, took the Trellis out and dumped the pot, AHA... Sweet Taters!
And I dug out the usuable Tubers, brought them in to rinse, then to dry a few Days, a good haul from one sprouting Tater
Watching the pretty Vines climbing to the Deck all Summer, then a nice Harvest and later... some Candied Sweet Potatoes

~ Dumped the Pot ~ Dug out the Taters ~ Rinsed and Ready to Dry ~

On then into a long evening after an afternoon of boring TV, I was thinking of the upcoming Winter and the Orange Trees outside
They grew a lot this Year and I read that they don't like cold Weather much, where should I put them, almost 4 feet tall
The Kitchen shelf was not tall enough for them and they need some light too, would they fit on the Living Room Shelf?
I went out to measure, they were about 43 Inches tall, back in to measure the Shelf. well maybe with some moving

I started on that, moved the heavy AeroGardens off, moved the bottom shelf to about 48 Inches, then another 6 Inches from the top
I set the large Grow Light on that shelf then added another for the Gardens, then set those heavy Gardens on that
And that looks like it will work, hope they don't grow too tall for that Shelf, no way to go higher now

~ Orange Trees February 2015 ~ October 2015 ~ May 2016 ~ September 2016 ~

That was it for another impromptu busy Day, seems like something shows up for me to play with
Then another Smoked Pork Chop Dinner, more TV and then more Dreams... And now... Another new Day!

~ The End of Harvest Time is Near ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Tuesday Morning, nice and cool but going to 91 Later they say, and the plants out front need a good watering
First thing in the dawning light, out front to take down the Holiday Flag Display, put them away until next Memorial Day
A little early but thinking of placing the Harvest Wreath on the front Door until Christmas all over again

Off to search for Winner Lottos... The search result... Bueno para nada! BAH! Humbug, back home to hang out my Harvest Wreath
Then a hike out back to see what was what, not much going on there either, some more small Tomatoes setting on
The Poblano Pepper I moved to the Tomato Bed looks like it is giving up... also the Golden Tomato I moved there
And the Cucumbers, had a really good Crop this season but they are getting tired too, looks like

~ Cucumbers are saying Bye Bye ~ Hope the Radishes are saying Hello ~

The Green Peppers out back didn't seem to be producing more new Peppers, still some nice ones, but no new ones
I decided to make some more Pickle Relish so I picked all of them from back there

~ Big Bertha Peppers from out Back ~

The Two Eggplants I planted out back didn't do well at all, they never seem to do good back there for me
Planted some before in Pots out front that did quite well, I'll do that next year instead of out back
I picked the only tiny Eggplant that was of any size at all from the 'Ichibon' Plant, wonder if I can use that one?

~ One Tiny Eggplant from out Back ~

Saw three small Tomatoes from the Better Boys Plant in the Pot out front, I picked them
And tossed a couple of larger ones the Bugs had gotten to

~ Three Little Maters from the Plant in the Pot ~

Then I picked all the bigger Peppers off the Poblano Pepper Plant in the Pot out front
Pretty nice Crop there, that new Pepper Relish is going to be somewhat on the 'Picante' side of taste

~ All the Peppers from the Poblano in the Pot ~

On into the afternoon, clouding up a little, would like to get some Rain, everything needs watering now
I mixed my afternoon libation and then headed to the Kitchen to start on my latest Pepper Relish
Watching the Politicos hash it out on CNN on the Kitchen TV while I toiled away at my cooking Project of the Day

Making Pepper Relish is very similar to my Bread and Butter Pickles with a couple small exceptions, the Brine is the same
But with the Relish I leave out a few seasonings for the Pickles and add of few Herbs of my Choice, Basil, Oregano and Cumin
With the Pickles you just heat the Cuke slices in the Brine and then into the Jar, but the Relish needs a bit of cooking
You chop up the Peppers and Onions in the Food Processor, into the Pot with some of the Brine and simmer awhile

~ One More Pint of Pepper Relish ~

Both processes are so very easy to do, I think the last Pickles being so good was just the Brine Recipe
But I have never received so many compliments on anything I have ever cooked to date

That was it for the Days projects, later was sipping Wine and watching TV...and BLAM! What a noise!
I looked out side seeing nothing, back to the TV... Then BLAM! again... another 10 Minutes another BLAM!
Well it was getting late afternoon and that noise ws disconcerting and I called 911, told them no Emergency
But someone was shooting off a Gun or Fireworks every ten minutes and needed to be checked on

Then I went outside, saw the Police Car coming down the Hill, there is a Highway Patrolman living a couple Units away
He was out in front with another Policeman watching the bottom of the Hill where I was waiting
The Policeman stopped and asked if I called, Yes... Looked around and there was my Neighbor standing out on his Deck
He was pointing down to the Apartment below, and the Policeman headed that way, knocked on the Door
I took my glass of Wine with me and walked over to talk with Mike, he said a guy there had been shooting off fireworks
So the Police talked to the guy, they left but I stayed and chatted with Mike until Dark and headed home and to bed

So it was one more nice Day, starting with no plans but ending up with a busy Day after all, simple fun but lots of it for me

~ Labor Day 2016 ~
~ What? Made more Pickles! ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Labor Day in Parkville ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Labor Day Today! Say goodbye to Summer, time to watch the Garden fade... Now hang out the Harvest Wreath?
And what to do for the Holiday? Not a clue as of 6 a.m. Monday... The Flags have been out for a Week
The Barbecue has been done twice... Time to just kick back and quietly Celebrate by enjoying the nice Weather

Thought I would run down to the Fast Stop for my Lottos on Monday, I take turns where to get them
I had some chat with the Uzbekistan guy who works there, very friendly guy and asks questions I like to answer
He is going to a University here and wants to learn more about everything here, and like I told Sigi... I know it all!

So back home there to scratch off only another dinky $5... I want some BIG ONES! Extra Bills this month
Decided to take a Hike out back, but first took a took at the new Mexibells in AeroGarden 5 and looking good
I raised the Grow Light a little more, and saw that they now are beginning to bud...

~ New Mexibell Plants are Budding Now ~

And then the trot out back... Not expecting to find much to Harvest, but saw two small Cukes in the Cucumber Bed
Then over to the Tomato Bed, the C ucmber Vines climbing from the end of the Pepper Bed over to the Tomato Bed
And the second big Cucumber that has developed in there... Then saw another larger one in one end of the Pepper Bed

~ Cucumber Vines Wandering to the Tomato Bed ~ Is this a Tomato Bed or a Cucumber Bed? ~

The loot for Monday Four nice Cucumbers, that big one at 9 Inches, it is a 'Straight Eight', the suggested Harvest is 8 Inches tops
The Second largest is the preferred size for this type of Cucumber, but the smaller ones have fewer seeds
And smaller ones are better for Pickles too... The big one here is going for Salads, with Onions, Peppers and Ranch Dressing

~ Your Choice ~ Small ~ Medium ~ Large ~ And WOW! ~

So... what about my Labor Day Lottos? First to the Fast Stop... for that $5 Win, needed some stuff at the Price Chopper
Got my Cart load of Goodies and then traded that $5 Win for another $5 Ticket... and I had a single $1 Bill and so I bought a $1 ticket
Back then to scratch off that $5 for a loser but the $1 Ticket for a $10 Win! HAH! Back to the Fast Stop
And I bought Two more $5 Tickets and one was a loser but the other was a $25 Win... Time to quit... $5 ahead

Into a gorgeous Afternoon then, time for a Margarita... and slice up that big Cucumber for later
Well later wasn't very far off, I had that big Cucumber in the Fridge, some Vidalia Sweet Onion all ready
So I trotted out front to the Poblano Pot and picked a couple Poblano Peppers. and back to start my Salad

I had just about finished with the Cucumber, Papper and Onion when I got a Call... Lewis, Nature Sanctuary Friend
He says... would you have any more of those Pickles you gave me... I want to buy some... HAH! I think so
Asked when he would be down at the Coffee Shop again, maybe Friday, Ok I'll bring you some and Pepper Relish too
And as if my Ego wasn't way too high anyway... He said those were the best Pickles he ever Tasted!
Everyone I gave them to has raved about them, and as for myself... I say they are the best I ever made!
And I can't tell you why... They just turned out really good... So he hung up and I went to check

Oh Oh... I have a lot of Jars in the Fridge but no more full Pint Jars of those Bread and Butter Pickles
I do have a large Jar of them I am using, and another small Jar that has been opened... OK.. Now what?

Well, I had everything to make more, Lots of Cucumbers... but I only have a few Half Pint Jars...
And... Back to the Price Chopper for another Dozen Pint Jars and back to put them in the Dishwasher to rinse
Next started on the Cucumbers, sliced them up with my Meat Slicer, into the big Bowl with some Onions and Kosher Salt and Ice
Then find something to do for couple hours... Like una Corona Cervesa Mexicana and some catch-up TV until Pickle Brine time

It was about 5:30 p.m. when I went back in to finish the Pickling process, the Brine had been heating on low
I drained and rinsed the Cucumbers, turned the heat up on the Brine, when almost boiling I put the Cucumbers in the Pot
Stirred then around as they heated up to the boiling point and then spooned them into the Jars... Voila!
This time I ended up with exactly Three Pints and Two of them will go to Lewis... And NO he will NOT Pay for them!

~ Three mre Pints of my 'Famous' Bread and Butter Pickles ~

That was my Day... Then the Cucumber Salad, Pork Chop, Baked Tater... Final Glass of Vino Tinto... Good Night Irene...

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

An early start on Sunday, went to bed too early, got up way too early... Thinking of things to do
I am to be scheduled for Mohs Surgery again and that can take a very long time, so I will take my Laptop
And there were several files I wanted to update on that after I Installed the latest Windows 10 Insider Update
So I copied some Internet and Photo files to the Laptop, and did some updating on the other three Desktops
And of course finished my BLOG, worked an online Crossword, checked Facebook, the usual stuff
Then entered a surplus of loser Lotto tickets at the Lotto Prize site, buildng up another nice Number for something

8 a.m. and still a cool 66 Degrees and the Sun just beginning to peek out from the Clouds, top of 85 they say
Headed out back to check things, took some Sulfur Powder to sprinkle in the Cantaloupe Cage, see if that might help
Pretty well given up on any Crop and the Bugs got most already... Three little ones might still do something

~ Three little Cantaloupes still might have a Chance ~

Then I needed another Jug of Vino Tinto so I headed back to Price Chopper, have to wait until 9 a.m. on Sundays
Got my Jug of Wine and my Lottos, back to scratch off a dinky $5 Win, saw Some Poblanos turning red so I picked them
What to do with those Poblano Peppers? Not very Big, looked up some recipes, most say to roast and peel
That is a kind of a chore for me, but I found a Recipe for stuffed Poblanos that didn't mention peeling
They say to use Chorizo and Cheese and Taco Sauce, well I have my own Ideas, no Chorizo but I do have a Burger
Figured to thaw and crumble that Burger, cook with Onions and Garlic, add some Cheese then top with my own Salsa Picante
And then roast in the Oven for an Hour like they say, should work I would think

But until Poblano Pepper time I loaded that Hummingbird Video I took into my Editor and it looked like enough
I edited out the places where the Bird was missing, added Titles and music and burned a Blu-ray DVD
I set the Video to render for upload and then went in and played the DVD on my TV, looked good to me
Then I uploaded it to Vimeo and posted it to Facebook... and then on to the Poblano Peppers

I split the Peppers in half and cleaned out the Seeds, set them in a Pyrex Dish, then attacked the Filling
Put the Burger in the Skillet with some chopped Onions, Garlic Salt and pepper, added some Salsa Picante
Let that cook down nicely and then spooned it into the Peppers, a little water in the Dish and into the Oven
After almost an Hour I sprinkied some Parmesan Cheese on top, then Fifteen minutes later... Out of the Oven

~ My first try at Stuffed Poblano Peppers ~

And I finished a busy Sunday with that nice tasty Dinner, with three of those Pepper halves on the Plate
A big lump of Smashed Potatoes and back to the TV with a Glass of Vino Tinto, to sample my latest experiment
And that one is a keeper, the Peppers had just a bit of heat, added to the Burger, Onions and Salsa
I have three more of those Pepper Halves to go, now to think of more ways to use all the Peppers on that Plant out front

Now on to my Non-Labor Day, again no plans at all... Can we have another busy and pleasant Day?

~ I Felt the Oklahoma Earthquake ~
~ More BBQ for Saturday ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Eight More Big Chops to Smoke for Labor Day! ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Saturday Morning about 7 a.m. I was pecking away on the Computer, I felt my Chair wiggle and I saw my Monitor jiggling...HUH?
That lasted a few Seconds, I wondered what was that anyway? Then went on to finish and post my Blog
Then I decided on more BBQ for the Labor Day Weekend, I had smoked those Six big Chops, then gave three away and ate Two
Only one left to last the rest of the Weekend, that sure would not do, off to the Price Chopper for more
I got Eight more of the same Chops, and an extra $2 off Coupon attached... Earlier Six for $11, now a $12 pack of Eight for $10
Then I got my Lottos and back at el Rancho Pequeno to scratch off $20 in Wins... Hooray! Well that's just even up

And, I wanted to dust the Chops with BBQ Rub and flipped on the TV to CNN while doing that
I was sprinkling away and the Reporter started talking about the Earthquake in Oklahoma at 7 that Morning... AHA!
So that's what my jiggle was, first Earthquake I believe I have ever felt in my 84 Years here

Then the BBQ Rub done, I decided to run back to the Minute Mart to try again for more Wins, traded for $20 more
And a friend from the Nature Sanctuary was at the Counter ahead of me, I asked him if he had felt it
He said no but a guy behind me piped up and said yeah, he felt it and saw his Curtains waving away
About four more people there had felt it to some extent that Morning

~ Earthquake? Nope I made this .gif Image ~

Then back at the Computer at 9:30 a.m I checked att.net online, they had a report on the Quake:
"OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A record-tying earthquake in the edge of Oklahoma's key energy-producing areas rattled the Midwest
From Nebraska to North Texas on Saturday and will focus new attention to the practice of disposing oil and gas field wastewater deep underground
The United States Geological Survey said a 5.6 magnitude earthquake happened at 7:02 a.m. Saturday in north-central Oklahoma
On the fringe of an area where regulators had stepped in to limit wastewater disposal. That temblor matches a November 2011 quake in the same region
People in Kansas City and St. Louis, Missouri; Fayetteville, Arkansas; Des Moines, Iowa; and Norman, Oklahoma
All reported feeling the earthquake. Dallas TV station WFAA tweeted that the quake shook their studios too"

And then on to the Day, another Smoking BBQ Day, fired up the Smoker and added a Hickory 'loglet' for Smoke
Brought out the Chops and into the Smoker about 12:30 p.m. then, to add that Hickory and Pork Aroma to the breeze

So, I wanted to get some new Hummingbird Video, set up the Video Camera pointed out the Window to the Feeder
Mixed my Margarita and watched TV and kept an eye out for the Birdies at the Feeder, they come and go quick
I saw one flit in and started the Camera, he wasn't there long and away he went... Watched for another
So I played with that for awhile, they slowed down so I turned off the Camera, will try for more on Sunday

~ The Camera set up for the Feeder ~ Waiitng for the Birdies to flit in

And... then about 2:30 p.m. I went out to bring in the Pork Chops and shut down the Smoker
Next I brushed the Chops with some KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce and let them cool down to store for later

~ More Smoked Pork Chops to last the Labor Day Weekend ~

Then I put a Potato into the Oven to bake and chopped up some Cabbage to make up some fresh Cole Slaw... yummy stuff
When the newly Smoked Chops had cooled I packaged them, Four in the Freezer and Three in the Fridge
And back to the TV with a Glass of Vino Tinto until time to sample some more BBQ, I had one of the original Chops left
So... Dinner early, that last Chop, brushed with BBQ Sauce, the baked Potato Seasoned and Buttered
Then with that fresh Cole Slaw, finished off that Treat to close down another fairly busy Saturday

I got bored with the TV around 7 p.m. Went on to bed too early again, woke up at 2:30 a.m. with Computer Ideas
I couldn't get back to sleep so I got up and started in, mainly wanted to transfer some files to the Laptop
And that started off my Sunday... now I can post this and get on with the new Day... Ole!

~ New Jalapeno Seedling in Garden 7 ~ Thursday and Friday ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Some more nice Weather, 72 Degrees at Noon, topping at 80, you can keep that going... Please
First off to the Fast Stop, for some chit and chat with the Uzbekistan guy who works there, got $20 worth of Lottos
Back hime to only scratch off $20 in Wins so I headed over to the Minit Mart, traded in the $20
This time only a $5 Win, maybe I can do something with that one at the Price CHopper, nope lost that one

So, time for a quick check out back again, didn't expect to find anything new but that Pepper Plant needed some Water
Watered that, got a Photo of the New Radishes, they looked thirsty too so I refilled my Watering Can
And I then saw a nice little Cucumber, the only one ready to pick, the Cukes are tapering off now looks like

~ Radishes Seem to be doing OK ~

~ Cukes Slowing Down but I found One more Little One ~

That was all of the Outside Gardening for the Day and no Cooking Plans for the Day either
A slow Day, finally slipped off to Margarita time, sitting there watching and being bored by Political TV
I had refilled the Hummingbird Feeded and hung it back in the Tree, I noticed several Hummingbirds
There were Two or Three flittng in and, out back aod forth, thought I might try to get some Video on Saturday
Here's a Clip of some Video I caught before... Says three Years ago... Has it been that long?

It was a fluffy Cloud Day again on Friday and on one of my Lotto trips I saw more heads in the Clouds
I stopped to get a quick shot at this one, I should have gone out back on the Hill to get more pics

~ Sure Looks like A Head in the Clouds to Me ~

That was about all of Friday, had my Pork Chop and Fries early, wasn't feeling all that well, got sleepy early
Tried for a Nap about 5 p.m. About an Hour later got up, still not feeling good and tired, off to Bed
And that made for a long long night waking up Four or Five times, finally made it to 5 a.m. to start the Day

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And again Wednesday turned out to be a more Fun Day than expected, I do love to Barbecue something
As usual lately no Plans for the Day but again as usual I am sure that something will show up to keep me busy
Late in the Afternoon Wednesday I went out to take the Missouri Flag down and off the Pole
Then I hung it where I usually put one of My Holiday Flag Fans, it will be in the center of the four US Flags
And Thursday Morning I trotted out early and put out the other Three US Flags to dress up the whole Deck for the Holiday

One more Jalapeno Pepper Plant on the way, Two seedlings popped up AeroGarden 6 on Tuesday, August 30th
And now the first Seedling popped up in AeroGarden 7 that was planted on August 26th, just in 6 Days
This latest packet of Jalapeno Seeds germinated a lot quicker than the Six Mexibell Seeds I got from Bulgaria planted in Garden 5

~ Jalapeno Seedling popped up in 6 Days ~

And off on a cool Morning, 64 Degrees at 8 a.m. Headed to the Price Chopper for some Lottos
I Bought $20 worth, only won $10 back, no way to start the new Month, but 29 more Days to try

Just finishing up scratching my Lottos, a Phone call from KC Skin and Cancer, with the Lab Report of my Biopsy
I told them before, why bother with a Biopsy, it's Cancer... And again I was right, Squamous Cell Carcinoma
So back for more 'Mohs' Surgery and that usually takes two or more trips to the Operating room to remove
So I'll take my Laptop for the long waits in the waiting Room between Surgeries to keep me occupied with something

Gorgeous Weather again, still comfy when I headed back up the Hill to Walgreens for something I forgot the first trip out
Got that Item and stopped next Door at the Price Chopper to trade in my $10 of Winnings for a $5 Loss... Oh Well
Then I took a hike out back to check things, something changes most every Day back there, checked the Tomato Bed
The Poblano Pepper plant I moved to the Tomato Bed not looking so good, need more Water? Less Sun? Quien Sabe?

~ Poblano Pepper tranfer not looking so Good ~

And what's this, those bright Yellow Blooms in the Tomato Bed... Hah! A Cantaloupe Vine sneaking in
One Vine climbed out of the end of the Cantaloupe Cage through the Netting and making itself at Home in the Tomato Bed
Not expecting much from the rest of the Plants, the Bugs got another one, I tossed it in the Ditch
A couple small ones left but I don't expect them to do much of anything, the Bugs will get them too I think

~ A Cantaloupe Vine sneaking into the Tomato Bed ~

Then over to the Paw Paw Trees to check that unexpected Crop, saw one Fruit in one Tree and Three more in another
Lots of those Trees now and lots of Leaves and Branches but found very few Paw Paws, I would like to try one when ripe

~ Three more Paw Paws on a Banch in the Paw Paw Orchard ~

Then time for a Margarita again and check on the non-news on the Afternoon TV and then... 'What's for Dinner?'
Well, what was for dinner was pretty Tasty, Smoked Pork Chop, Baked Tater and Cole Slaw, as I said we eat GOOD around here
And now for me... a Cuppa Coffee to start off my Friday... Let's hit the road Jack!

~ We are Running Out of August ~
~ And Labor Day BBQ Started Today! ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Pork Chops from Today until Labor Day ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Last Day of August and I am ready... And Pay Day on Thursday... HOORAY! I always run out of Money about this time
Another nice Day on the way they say... Cloudy but will top out at 80 Degrees and I sure like that
We have had some late August Weather that has treated the Garden Plants rather well, not as much watering needed

So the usual start on the Morning, a couple Photos of the new Peppers in my Aerogarden, finished my BLOG
Posted it to Facebook, got a couple of 'Likes'... a little Chat with Sigi... Then on Facebook I saw this Test below
So I was curious to what they could say and I hit the Button... and they sure got it right, just what I told Sigi and Kelly
'Be Happy and Optimistic and there will always be a Better Day Tomorrow'... Yeah!

~ A Facebook Analysis of Me ~ And they sure got it Right ~

And then... I got all of my Morning Routine done and headed out for Lottos, won back $10, back home to have a late Breakfast
And then headed to the 'Shear Palace' to get a 'Buzz Cut' again, KC Skin and Cancer Center is going to do some treatment on my Head
And it makes it easier for them and me to not have as much Hair to deal with... Half an hour later back at the Ranch

Time to go out and clean the Smoker Grill, fire it up and then lay out those big Chops on the Grill
Figured about two Hours or so in the Smoker... Then Check every Hour or so to see how it was doing

And so, the Chops into the Smoker about Noon, checked them around 1 p.m. Doing OK and I flipped them over
Smoking away until a little after 2 p.m. And they looked ready to me so out of the Smoker and onto the Plate

~ Pork Chops ready for Dinner ~

Then shutting down the Smoker out front, I saw the Girl next Door, her boy Friend was helping her to move out her things
So I toddled over to say Adios or whatever, then asked if they would like some BBQ right off the Grill
Why aure, I said I would wrap some up, back inside to select three nice Pork Chops for the two Sisters asd the Friend
Back out to present them with my parting Gift and wish Bon Voyage... I love to give my Goodies away as much as enjpy them myself

And it had been Cloudy most of the Day, then some hazy Sun peeked out, I took my Wine out front to sit and enjoy the Weather
And back inside to make some fresh Cole Slaw and put a Potato in the Oven to bake... Later wound up the Day with Dinner
Plated a Pork Chop and that buttered Baked Potato, dished up some Cole Slaw, one more Glass of Wine and back to the TV

So, a fine Day for my first Day of this long Labor Day Weekend, I sure do make these Holidays last awhile
Now, 5 a.m. on the first Day of September, time to start a new page with a new Theme... and away we go!
