So the usual start on the Morning, a couple Photos of the new Peppers in my Aerogarden, finished my BLOG
Posted it to Facebook, got a couple of 'Likes'... a little Chat with Sigi... Then on Facebook I saw this Test below
So I was curious to what they could say and I hit the Button... and they sure got it right, just what I told Sigi and Kelly
'Be Happy and Optimistic and there will always be a Better Day Tomorrow'... Yeah!
Time to go out and clean the Smoker Grill, fire it up and then lay out those big Chops on the Grill
Figured about two Hours or so in the Smoker... Then Check every Hour or so to see how it was doing
And so, the Chops into the Smoker about Noon, checked them around 1 p.m. Doing OK and I flipped them over
Smoking away until a little after 2 p.m. And they looked ready to me so out of the Smoker and onto the Plate
And it had been Cloudy most of the Day, then some hazy Sun peeked out, I took my Wine out front to sit and enjoy the Weather
And back inside to make some fresh Cole Slaw and put a Potato in the Oven to bake... Later wound up the Day with Dinner
Plated a Pork Chop and that buttered Baked Potato, dished up some Cole Slaw, one more Glass of Wine and back to the TV
So, a fine Day for my first Day of this long Labor Day Weekend, I sure do make these Holidays last awhile
Now, 5 a.m. on the first Day of September, time to start a new page with a new Theme... and away we go!
And so, I was just catchimg up on the Computer stuff Tuesday Morning, Email and BLOG and whatever and -HE- called again
Kelly, my talkative Psycho Friend... He seems to need my texting contact... I so want to cut him off... but I do listen
I have tried to tell him so many times and he won't stop... Giving me medical advice, stuff to take
I take what the Doc says I need, not what the coo coos say is good for you... weird costly stuff that will poison you
Anyway I wasted most of the Morning listening to him, finally had to tell him I had to clean up amd go get my Lottos
Finally got in the shower, finished out my Morning and headed to the Fast Stop for my daily Lotto dose
Had planned which to buy there, I keep track of winners and losers... And I got two there there I though due to win
Then headed to the Minit Mart for the two others I was betting on... I spent $10 at each place, win $10 back from both places
So even up for the Day, still have that $20 worth to trade back today
And then.... Thinking of the last Summer Holiday coming up, need something to BBQ... That's the Holiday Law for me
Stopped in at the Price Chopper to look, didn't have anything exactly in mind, just what might attract my eye
Saw some nice big 'bone on' Pork Chops on a nice Sale, got a pack of Six... later dusted with BBQ Rub and into the fridge
And so that was about it for a different kind of day on Tuesday, now the only plan for the Day is to smoke those Pork Chops
Hey Hey... BBQ on the Way! Today!
And I edited my latest boring Video... added some more subtitles and uploaded it to my Vimeo Video Site
Then Posted it to Facebook and also added it to this BLOG to bore Sigi again... He so much doesn't care for my Videos
On to the Afternoon and a Manhattan, I had run out of Margarita makings, have to remedy that today (Tuesday)
I saw one of the Girls upstairs leaving, she told me how good the Pickles were I gave her... Want more? ...Sure
So later when I saw her pull in... I opened the Door, said wait a sec and got her another Jar
So far I have given away... Seven Pints that I can remember, I still have more than I can use for a Year
So on to the usual wind up for the Day... and now off to find my Fortune on Tuesday all over again
And as usual... no Plans for the moment... but... wait...
I was still doing some Video re-editing when I heard Pat at the Door, I asked her in to my Computer Room
The Blu-ray DVD was ready but I showed her what else I was doing to add to the Video and how I did it
And got tired of that really quick and then on to the Visit... A 'Corona' Cervesa for her and a Margarita for me
And back to the TV to play my newly produced Video... Looked good but I could see where I need to add some things
Then I wanted to show her the Cloud Photo and all the figures I found in the Clouds, now up to five or six images
I started by mirroring the Photo on my Computer with my Phone but decided to go the Computers to find the people
I put the Photo on the two Dell Desktops so we could both study it closely, took her a few minutes to find a couple
Then with a few hints she found most of the images, and I found another one, how many now? What an imagination I have!
Then on to Game time, since we were at the Computers I put the same online Crossword on both Monitors
She worked one while I worked the other.. A Contest maybe? Well I am used to those Crosswords and did finish first
So, TV, Videos, Computers, Music, Games, what an interesting afternoon as the Day slipped by
Finally wrap up time, she said our Friend Dori, Sanctuary Volunteer, had tasted the Pickles I gave Pat after the last visit
Pat said that she really did like them so I gave Pat a Jar to give to Dori on her Birthday coming up soon
Then a Jar of Bread and Butter Pickles and a Jar of the new Dills and a Jar of my new Pepper Relish for Pat
I sacked up the Goodies, then she took them out to her truck and I toted out the Blu-ray Disc Player she wanted
And she headed up the Hill to Home after a very pleasant Afternoon at my Ranchito Pequeno with my Tech Toys
And on to Dinner and TV... and more 'Andre Rieu' Music to finish out the Day... Well Sigi, I like the stuff he plays
And now... 6 a.m. Sunday (I got up early) and on to another New Day and Week... Off we go...
And then Saturday Morning I checked out back for a look at the Crops after that heavy Rain Friday, they looked good
Nothing ready to pick then but looks like a nice Cucumber will be ready on Sunday, then got two little Tomatoes out front
And then on to thre rest of Saturday. I needed a couple items at Walmart so I tooled over there
Got my goodies and headed back, stopping on the way back for my Lottos, and a no go Day for them for sure
Then back with no plans at all for the rest of the Day... I got a call from my friend Patricia, said she would visit Sunday
Well, no Gardening needed, no Cooking experiments, what to do? Then an Idea... Make another Video, well mostly a 'still' Video
I had a lot of Photos of moving the Garden Beds and Soil from up high on the Hill down to the center of the Yard
So I started on that and it took a lot of collecting the Photos from a couple of Internet Web Files I have
And they were of all different sizes so I had to resize then all to fit the Video Frame of 1920 x 1080p for the Video
Finally gave that up for my Afternoon Margarita, TV and later Dinner, then on to Sunday Morning
Now Sunday at 1 p.m. and hadn't posted this Sunday BLOG yet... but It's on the way at a little after 1 p.m.
I started back on the Video early, finished resizing all the Photos, then Edited the Video on my Sony Vegas Program
Added an Intro, Titles and Sub Titles and music and then burned a Blu-ray DVD... Had a look at it on my TV
And it looked OK, but wanted to add a few more Subtitles before uploading it to my Vimeo Video Site
Now expecting a Visit from Pat about 1:30 p.m. Wanted that DVD to show her the latest Video on the TV
So now, post this harrangue to Facebook and then edit the Video some more to upload later
Out then... into the Morn's early light to find a place for my Poblano Pepper, looked like the Tomato Bed
Two of the Golden Harvest Tomato plants I moved out there were giving up, one looked like it's still trying
So I pulled up the two failing Plants, dug a deep hole for the Roots of the Poblano Pepper, back inside then
Pulled the Pod from the AeroGarden carefully pulling the Roots through the hole in the Grow Bowl, a lot of them
Then took the Pepper Plant out back, set it in the hole, packed the Soil around it, then tied the Stems to the Cage
The Soil was nice and moist and the Temp was to be moderate for the Day, maybe it would be OK for the Pepper Plant
So that was pretty much the Gardening for Friday, off to a slow afternoon then... Tv and whaever
I had just about finished my Afternoon Margarita when the Sky darkened and the Rains came... and I mean a deluge!
And it kept on raining for what seemed hours, later I heard there was flooding all over the Kansas City Area
Wondering how my Crops fared out back, have to take a look today (Saturday)
Anyway another sort of busy Day for most of Friday, no lotto Wins of mention but some Gardening projects done
Then on to Dinner and a late Movie and more Music and then off to dreamland... and OH! Those dreams!
It started out raining Wednesday Morning and rained just about all Day, Sun peeked out some in the afternoon
So I did some running around here and there but no outside doings until Afternoon, then took a hike out back
Found a few things to Harvest but then a surprize in the Cucumber Bed, the new Radishes were popping up
Just planted those Seeds on Sunday, guess the warm Soil and rain gave them a boost, sure would like a good crop
Then I got my Lottos and head back home, the Postman was there who was supposed to deliver it on Tuesday
He said he thought he left it in front of my Door, I says no... Then he looked through all the Mailboxes... no Key
So I am stuck for now, no Paper, no Supervisor, I'll wait a Day or two and call Amazon, see if they will send it again
And so, Thursday Morning, heavy Rain and T-Boomers, no watering will be needed for a Day or Two after that
And then Rain Stopped and the Sun came out and on to the Day... And on into the Aftermoon and nothing to do
Since when? There is always something, however insignificant, to do around here, maybe a walk around back
Not expecting anything to Harvest but I did see this nice Big Cucumber, getting a pile in the Fridge again
Then one of the Big Bertha plants was leaning over again, I picked several Peppers off that one
And a couple more off the other Pepper plants... Then back inside, what to do with those Peppers? HAH! Make Relish
I have plenty already but need to do something with those Peppers... maybe I can give some away?
What now? Another Friday all over again? Weekends sure come so quick lately... anyway... Off to the new Day!
So off again to Lowes and Walmart... Got a nice big Pot and more Soil and Jalapeno Seeds at Lowes
Then I had a Prescription on order at Walmart so I went next door for that, I had a Discount Coupon
The Price on the Coupon said my cost would be $60 or so, but the Clerk said it would be $1,500... HUH!
She said the price without the coupon would be $2,400! No Way Jose! My prescript plan won't pay for it
And I sure can't come up with that and it doesn't work all that well anyway, I've used it before
So I headed on back, plugged in my Drill for drain holes in the New Pot and started the Transfer
And that went smoothly, 25 Quarts of Soil out of the Blazer, the new Pot and Pepper out on the Porch
Set the Pepper in the Pot, Roots all the way down, then ladled in the Soil and worked the plant up as I went
And now both Mexibell Plants out in the Pots and in the Sun, and nowhere to go but up! OLE!
Finished my BLOG, posted it to Facebook, finally got rid of my talkative contact and into the Shower
Then my Shampoo and Shave and into my new Docker Slacks and a nice dark Blue T-Shirt and off to the Center at 11 a.m.
Stopped on the way for my Lottos, got to the Office on time at 11:30 a.m. Didn't have to wait long
The prelimimary Exam didn't take long but the wait for the Nurse Practioner did, she finally showed up
So she poked around here and there and I showed her the place on my Ear that prompted me to call
I was pretty sure she would do a Biopsy on that, yeah, she said she would have to do that, then the Nurse did the Numbing
And they left, another wait and they came back in, did the Biopsy in five Minutes, gave me a Prescription
All done, she said she would see me in a couple Months after I used the Prescription stuff on my other Sun Bumps
But I just know they will call, say the Biopsy is positive and I'll have to come back for more Surgery
I lost count of how many Biopsies they have done, quite a few and only one came up negative
And so... in a week or two I bet I get that call, come on back in, we want to cut off another hunk...
And She said I needed to use some more 'Fluorouracil' to get rid of some of the pre-cancerous Lesions I have
That stuff is high Priced and not covered by my Prescription plan so they gave me a Coupon with a nice price cut
Still about $65 for a dinky little tube of Cream, the Coupon was good at Walmart they said
And my closest Walmart was just around the Corner from the Doctor so I stopped by, gave them the Prescript
The guy said it would be ready in 40 Minutes... HUH? Yeah he says, so I headed home to work my Lottos
And then... time for that new habit, that Margarita, well, 'Manhattans' were getting old after 50 years or so
And I like that tang of the Lime Juice and that mellowness of that 100% Blue Agave Tequila... Ole!
And also.. What's for Dinner?, I put out one of my last few Lotto Prize Sausages to thaw... and maybe Potato Salad?
And finally that wound up a long and busy Day, The Sausage was great and the Tater Salad was tasty
The Vino Tinto was mellow and the TV was acceptable and the Bed Tine was very welcome... Hasta Luego...
Thinking way ahead, when the Peppers in Aerogardens 6 and 7 are on the way out, maybe plant more Jalapenos in them
The first ones I planted seemed to do pretty well, still have some of them Pickled in a Jar, don't use many
But then that may be a Month or two away, then will be time to get started on the inside Winter Crops
And than off on a many stop Goose chase and the Goose got away, I thought I was getting close a couple times
I hit most all my favorite places for Lottos, won a little went hunting for more
First to the Fast Stop, won $20... Then to the Minit Mart, won $15... Back to the Minit Mart, won only $5
Back again to the Minit Mart, this time won $10... Once again at Minit Mart, won $20, then to the Price Chopper for $5
And one final desperate try at the Price Chopper, just another $5... Won a total of $80, spent $85 trying
So all that running around and winning a few good ones... a loss of $5... but it was some fun trying
Then hooked up the Hose and headed out back, watered everything back there, picked one nice big Cucumber
And that was all outside for the Day, the Afternoon and Evening the same old routine, ho hum...
So Tuesday Morning, nice cool start again at 69 Degrees and a not so bad high of 81 coming later
No plans except more watering out front and another Dermatologist Appointment, more Sun Bumps looks like
They sure have been making money from my Insurance lately, I would hate to see the Total... Good I am not paying it
Then I scooted over to the Pepper Bed where the Weeds were trying to crowd out the Peppers and Swiss Chard
Getting some good sized Peppers now and looks like any time I could pick some Swiss Chard again for Greens
Finally over to the Tomato Bed to get a Photo of the Tomato Plants approaching 8 Feet, above the 6 Foot trellis now
And a Cucumber Vine climbed over from the end of the Pepper Bed to settle a Cucumber way up with the Tomatoes
So another new Day and new Week, startig all over again, nothing much new but sometimes can be fun
Back to the Computer and some Chat with Sigi.. and a couple words from Swamp, having trouble with the new Yahoo Messenger
He can't see or type well and likes to use Video Chat and looks like the new Yahoo Messenger doesn't have it now
I downloaded Skype for that, I kind of like the Layout, thought maybe he could try that
He typed to ask what my Name was on Skype, I said must be 'Donald Smith' and that's the last I heard fom him
And time sped by, it was almost 11 a.m. before I got into my Morning Shower and the rest of my Morning routine
Then I checked to see what I needed for more Dill Pickles besides Jars and headed again to the Price Chopper
I got my goodies and headed back and found I had bought the wrong size Jars, I wanted Pints, I got Half Pints
I have lots of Pickle practice now, so I mixed up the Brine to start on the Pickles
Then I set the Brine in the Pot to heat while I sliced up the Cucumbers. did it the Easy way
I got my Meat Slicer out of the Pantry and set the Blade just right and sliced then all up and into a Bowl
When the Brine was just at boiling I dumped in the Cucumber Slices, let them heat a bit and then into the Jars
So then what to finish out the Day? A Glass of wine, a Smoked Pork Sandwich and some TV
Now... Sunday and a COOL Morning out there it says at 56 Degrees... Planning on planting a fall crop of Radishes
And maybe some weeding in the Pepper Bed... So Off we go...
Earlier a friend on Facebook was asking why the Pirate Flag the Girls upstairs had hung on the Deck
I saw one of them coming down the Stairs and asked her where the Prate Team was
She said Park University Pirates right here in Town, so then I got this Photo and Posted in on Facebook
And gave the Details to Lizette, the friend that had asked why the Pirate Flag alongside the England Flag
Then I got a Phone Call from a friend who likes to talk and talk and say nothing of importance
I don't like to be rude so I tried to listen and comment about every 100th word. he finally quit
Then, I noticed a tiny Hummingbird out front huntng for Lunch and my Feeder was empty
So I made up some Sugar Syrup and filled the Feeder, been neglecting that, haven't seen many this year
And on into another hot Afternoon, then it would cloud up and then the Sun would sneak out again
The Plants out front were looking thirsty again so I dragged out the Hose and gave then a good soak
Later the Weatherman was promising a 95% chance of rain that evening but it never happened that I saw
And even later, back to the Evening routine, had some more of that Chicken, Cole Slaw and Potato Salad
Kept nicely in the Fridge since Wednesday, then on to an old TV Show rerun then an Andre Rieu Concert
And off to bed to dream of some Rain but it didn't happen, now Saturday Morning.... all cloudy at 8:30 a.m.
Maybe we will get some of that promised Rain after all.. anyway.. Off to the new Day!
Anyway, off to the Lotto Races, back to the Price Chopper to win a dinky little $10 Ticket, I'll go back
But before that, another Cup of Coffee and a start on this Thursday BLOG to post on Friday
I did come up with a Project for the Day, maybe Two, the little Fountain out front was all yucky again
Needed to spray it with Bleach and rinse out the Pump, this Year that 'Green Stuff' seems worse than last year...
So I got back out there before the high Heat set in, sprayed it with some Clorox Bathroom Cleaner
Went back in to piddle around, then back out to check, already mostly clean, sprayed again and brushed it
And back in again with another Idea, I have some Apple Sauce and Rhubarb Sauce in the Fridge to use up
How about baking some Biscuits to spread that good stuff on? Hadn't made any Biscuits since forever
I had all the Ingredients so I mixed up a batch, cut out some good sized ones and into the oven
When they had some nice Color, out to cool a bit then split one to try with some Apple Sauce, yeah, they will do
And that I did and that was good! You sure can't buy Ketchup at the Price Chopper that tastes that good!
OK, so now it is Friday, let's find something fun to do
And the UPS Man showed up a little after Noon, I opened my new Wireless Mouse got it working on my Laptop
Then the Missouri State Flag, nice looking one and a very good price too, I took the USA Flag off one on my poles
Fastened on the Missouri Flag and took it outside to Display it at the end of the Deck, looks Great
I Hope the gals upstairs don't take this the wrong way, I just wanted to join their Celebration
Then a busy time, making the Potato Salad and Slaw at the same time, got it all finished and put away
Back to the TV with a Margarita, Dinner all waiting in the Oven and Fridge... yeah... way to go
So the Finale... Dinner, Wine and TV... And another pleasant Day, starting out with no Ideas again
But as so many times, an Idea pops up to keep me busy... So what now for Thursday?
Nope, none big enough so off to Lowes again, to get one just like the one I put the Poblano in
This time though, the Pepper Plant is bigger and more of a risk to Transplant, and has Peppers on it
So I'll pick all the bigger Peppers off first so it won't be as much strain to adapt outside
Got my Pot and headed back, stopped on the way back for Lottos at the Fast Stop, won $15... lost $5
Then time to start on the Latest Idea... Pulled the Pepper Plant and all the Roots out of the Planting Pod hole
Set it in the new Pot and toted it out front... Started carefuly pouring in the Potting Soil, that's a big Pot, took a lot
I set the Roots close to the bottom and lifted the Plant as I trowled in the Soil, finally close to the Top
So... Off we go, Into the Wild Blue Somewhere!.... Charge!
Then, I have been wanting to get a small limb from out back to prop up the Poblanos in the Pot again
I got my Loppers and headed out back again, there are several Trees that have been growing fast on one side of the Yard
I didn't know what they were, different from most of the other ones back there, anyway I snipped a branch off one
And on that branch was a little Green thing, looked like a Fruit or a big Nut... I took it in with me
Then I went back out front to wire it onto the smaller Stake already there and then tied the Poblanos on again
And that Plant that I moved outside is really outdoing the one left in the AeroGarden Inside and has more Peppers too
The inside Plant is at 25 Inches and nowhere to go and has six smaller Poblano Peppers on it now
The Plant outside is now at 37 Inches and has 16 Peppera on it and the Peppers a lot bigger than inside
Well, looks like the AeroGardens are for some Winter Fun but you can't beat Mother Nature at growing plants out in the Sun
Made up a big Beef Sandwich on a Bun, that, some Chips and a Glass of Wine sufficed for Dinner, then a Movie and to Bed
Actually stayed up later than usual, was behind time all day, made up for that by sleeping in until 7 a.m. Wow!
Now Tuesday, no plans, nothing much ahead except two deliveries tomorrow... Anyway... off to a new Day!
So I headed out back again after Noon, had some Chicken Wire, see if that would work... Got up the Stairs
Took a look out there... Sunny and just too hot at 85 Degrees for any more of that, try later in the Day
So what else for the Afternoon, another try at Rye Bread?, thought some would go good with my German Cooking
I mixed up a batch on Saturday and something I did went wrong, halfway through baking, the Loaf was all crumbly
So I dumped that try, thought I would try again, I think I know what I did wrong, mixed it up again and set the Machine going
I saw a few (?) more Tomatoes out back when I checked first thing, I headed back out about 2 p.m. to pick them
I am getting a tableful now, have to decide what to do with them, have a couple Ideas... One 'REAL' Tomato Ketchup
On through the long Afternoon and about 5 p.m. I headed out back to work on that Cage Netting
I had just about enough to cover the Sides of the Cage about 3/4 of the way up, maybe that will be enough
But a Squirrel could get on top but wonder if it would drop down inside to mess with my Meloms? Well give it a try
Back inside to see my Bread was finished, dumped it out on the Rack to cool, later tried some with Dinner
It will pass the Test quite well, I wrapped the rest, will Slice and store the rest on Monday
