~ A Visit with the Cardiologist ~

~ Sweet Potato Vine at the Deck Rail ~ 26 Inches to the Top Rail ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

OK.. let's see, this is Tuesday? This must be Parkville, somehow I wake up here every Day
So my opening Computer Routine, some repartee with Sigi Wulle, then off to finish my Morning Routine
The first stop after that was at the Medical Center way over there... Could have done this just a mile away
And why for? Primary Dctor says I need to check this again, just did it a couple years back
Wanted me to get a Carotid Ultrasound, a painless and harmless Test that uses high-frequency sound waves
To create pictures of the insides of your Carotid Arteries, easy enough to endure for a few Minutes
But it took longer to drive way over there than the time for the procedure, anyway it came out OK and another Relief

So, I headed over there at 9 a.m. was back home about 10:30 a.m. Stopped by the Price Chopper for Lottos
Won a $10 Ticket and went back for some more and of course lost them all, now what was the Agenda?

I had skipped Breakfast as usual so I just had an early Lunch, used some more of my Indoor Grown Lettuce
And another Hot Sunny Day and it looked like I better Water out front again, but first out back with the Sprinkler Can
I wanted to water the Beet Seed Tape again, not doing so fantastic so far, maybe too hot too quick?

~ The Garden Beds June 14th ~ Cucumbers at Two Feet ~ Tomatoes at Four Feet ~

The Cantaloupe Plants doing better now, even the Newly Planted Hill.. I just might get a Melon or two sometime

~ Cantaloupe Plants ~ First and Second Plantings ~

So then back in, hooked up the Hose and out front at 2 p.m. to start watering everything out there again
On these latest hot Days the Plants seem to be needing a lot of water, and I gave them all they seemed to need
Finished with all the plants in front of my place, plan to do the one at the next Building Today, Wednesday
And then maybe drag the Hose around back to water all Garden beds all over again
But that will be when I get back from the Dentist, an Appointment for cleaning at 8:45 this Morning

After the watering Tuesday, on to the usual Afternoon non-activities, Cocktail, TV and a nice Dinner
And now here we go again.... Hi Ho Wednesday!

~ Another Hot Day ~
~ Snipped Swiss Chard ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Just 2 more Inches to the Deck Rail Now ~ Grew 6 Inches Sunday ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Got up late again... 6 a.m. And a slow morning just puttering around, got my Routine finished
And off to the Price Chopper for Lottos... only won back $6.. Now what is there to do?
I thought the Beet Seed Tape would need more Water so I got the Sprinkling Can and Headed back
Watered in the Seed Tape and then some on the Green Onion Plants, specially the ones I just planted

Then the Swiss Chard looked like it needed to be thinned down some, not that I need any more Greens just now
I gave one large Bag of Beet Greens to Pat on Monday to take Home and still have Two big Bags in the Freezer
But I snipped all the Larger Stems and Leaves off the Row of Swiss Chard to clean, snip and store<
And I ended up with a Big Pile of Chard Greens, relative of the Beet but with no Bulb and tastes pretty much the same

~ More Greens? ~ Like I need more Greens! ~

So I brought them in and dumped them in a big Stainless Steel Bowl of Water to rinse, drain and rinse twice more
Then drained off the Water some and snipped them to cooking size and into another big Bag for the Freezer

~ Now again... Three Big Bags of Greens in the Freezer ~

That was pretty much it for Gardening on Monday, on to the Day and new Tooth troubles... Oh Woe!
One Tooth began to be painful maybe three Weeks ago but I have an cleaning Appointment for this Wednesday
But about Friday my Gum began to be more painful and swelled up. Monday it was much worse...
So I thought I should trot over to my Dentist and ask... Get an Antibotic maybe or wait til Wednesday
The cleaning Tech led me back to the Room, took an X-Ray and said she would ask the Dentist
He came in, poked around and said I should see an Endodontist and wrote me a Prescription
The Office people got me an appointment for the Endodontist but I still have that Cleaning one for Wednesday

And then the end of that Story... Stopped in the Pharmacy on the way back, for my Script and took a Pill
Two hours later the swelling was going down, all gone by Bedtime, and still down and not painful at all Tuesday Morning

So than it was all Dinner and TV and feeling better... a Salad with that fresh picked Cucumber
Cherry Tomatoes, Sweet Onion, Green Pepper, Ranch Dressing... Oh yeah... And BBQ Ribs, French Fries and a Glass of Vino
The Day had a happy Ending after all... Now I go to see the Cardiologist today... but no big Deal

Sunday Morning, slept in til almost 6 a.m.! Getting as lazy as Sigi who gets up at 9 a.m.
Just checking around the AeroGardens inside, Garden 7 Poblano Peppers, Garden 6 Mexibell Peppers
AeroGarden 5 doing the best at present, Golden Harvest Cherry Tomatoes growing nicely

~ Poblano Peppers ~ Mexibell Peppers ~ Golden Harvest Cherry Tomatoes ~

And then the Lettuce in the AeroGarden 4 in the Kitchen, Gardens 1 and 3 now empty of crops
But Garden 4 is now overloaded with Romaine Lettuce, I can't keep up, that's a lot of lettuce in there
Just made Wilted Lettuce again with the last Harvest from Garden 6, now have to work on this Bounty

~ Garden 4 Overloaded with Lettuce ~

On into the afternoon and a call from Pat.... Are you still receiving guests? Well yes, until closing time
So I was working away entering loser Lottos for Prizes when I get her knock on the Door, Ticket entering adjourned
And she came in bearing a culinary Gift, a melange of colorful Vegetables arranged in a Salad, put that in the Fridge for Dinner

~ Pat's Veggie Salad I enjoyed later at Dinner ~

And then the information exchange began, so much to talk about and catch up on, Gardens, Nature Sanctuary Day Camp
Latest Photos and Computer entries, BLOG stuff, just everything... I can talk all day about nothing much

Then it was time to trek out back to check the Gardens and water the Nubbins I planted Saturday
And again the new Beet Seed Tape needed watering, then I spotted the first edible size Cucumber
I had to pick that for a Taste and show and tell on my BLOG, lots more Cucumbers are on the way now
So a thorough check of everything back there and then back inside

~ First Cucumber Harvest of the Season ~

Earlier I had bought a Bottle of Napa Cellars Chardonay that looked good so I poured a glass for each of us, pretty good stuff
Then more Chat and TV and the Afternoon slipped into Evening and time for her to climb the Hill to Home
And then it was time again for that eternal question... 'What's for Dinner?'

Well fresh Veggie Salad for sure, and how about a Baked Potato and some smoked Chicken and Cornbread... Sure!
So that finished out another good Day with a Movie and this time... con un vaso de 'Vino Tinto' (Red Wine)
Now on to a New Day and New Week and New Adventures... Off we go into the Wild Blue Somewhere!

Well I had a delivery yesterday of some Woodgrain Tape to fix my Computer Tables but didn't get around to it
The original Table top was showing some wear some time back and I tried to fix it with some Wood Colored Duct Tape
That didn't look so good but it worked pretty well for a couple Years but began to get shabby
So I was lookimg around on Amazon and saw this wide Wood Grained Tape... (Made in Germany Sigi)
Saw that one Roll would cover both Tables and the cost was low so I ordered it, had to cut it in half

I Made my Coffee, mixed my Apple Juice, checked my Bank, my Email, and Facebook then started in
Took some careful measuring and cutting, removing the old Tape and aligning the new one to the Table Edge
But I was all finished about 9 a.m. and it was looking a lot better, worth the Ten Bucks it cost

~ To be Repaired ~ Looking better now ~

Well, if you think things stay the same around here long, you haven't been here, I keep changing something
Friday it was the lights in my Computer Play Room, the lamps on the Shelves above cast a glare on the Keyboards
And I had this extra Flourescent Fixture I was using for a Grow Light, thought I would try that out
So I propped it up on top of the Bookcases opposite fron the Computers, works good, no glare on the Keys

But that doesn't mean that it is going to sty hthat way, I'll try if while and see how I like that extra light>

~ Light FIxture on top of the Bookcases ~ More Indirect Light on the Computers ~

Done in the Computer Room for the moment, I decided to head up the Hill and out back to plant more Onions
I had the Six Nubbins I cut off the Green Onions on Friday night, made a little Furrow and planted them
Now next to the Six Onions I planted first and now growing, I have Thirteen Onions in a Row

~ Seven Green Onion Nubbins Planted ~

Finally off to seek my Fortune, and won a little, bought $20 worth of tickets and won $40 back
At least that's a $20 profit, just enough to buy the Tickets for Sunday

OK, then it was around Noon and close to 90 Degrees and bright Sun, hooked up the Hose again
This time next door Building first to water my two new Roses in Pots, the Four Boxwoods and the Two Popcorn Roses
Everything the Landscaper planted originaly died out and now everything over there are those that I planted

So then down the Stairs and I watered everything I planted in front of my Building and that is a lot of stuff
And it takes a lot of water and time to give them all a good drink... all done and back in about 1:30 p.m.
OK, what about the Two Cannas I took up to the Complex Office on Wednesday, plenty hot up there too
Boss Bob has been gone since last Friday so I thought I better go give them a good Drink just in case
I filled up my big Watering Can, stuck it in back of the Blazer and tooted on up the Hill
Gave both Pots a good long Drink and then stopped by the Mail Boxes to get my Mail, back down the Hill to Home

And then... Time to get back inside, mix a nice cool Margarita and figger out 'What's for Dinner?'
Well I mixed my Margarita but went back outside to sip it on the Veranda where it was... Rather warm
I had noticed that the Thai Basil experiment in a Pot was drooping a lot that Morning
After watering it had perked back up quite a bit... It had Flowered a lot, supposed to harvest before that happens
So I decided to clip off all the Blooms and there were a lot, then I snipped off most all the larger Leaves
Put them in a Pie Plate and into the Oven to dry and store later

~ Thai Basil Plants Snipped ~ Ready to Dry in the Oven ~

Now that was the last of the Gardening Maintenance for Saturday, what's for dinner, did some scrounging
Decided on some Smoked Chicken, Baked Potato, Cornbread and a Bowl of Lettuce, fresh clipped then made into 'Wilted Lettuce'
And agin, hey I make some really good stuff sometimes, and it was the best Wilted Lettuce I've done lately

Now Sunday Morning... Got a phone Call from neighbor friend Pat Saturday, she had been away Visiting
And then very busy at the Annual Three Day Camp at the Nature Sanctuary, wants to come over this Afternoon
Then have an afternoon of catch up Talk about all that's been going on the past Week or so... Off we go!

~ No Plans except to Water the Gardens ~
~ A Visit to State Farm Insurance ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ 16 Inches to the Deck Rail
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Headed out to the Price Chopper for a couple Lottos, won a couple, nothing to brag about
Then over to Hiway 9 to my State Farm Insurance Agent, needed Liabilty Insurance for the Mercedes
That went well until I got the final figure! Liability was almost as much as my Full Coverage on the Blazer
Almost not worth the price for just a spare set of Wheels, but you never know which will fail first

Out front then to check the Sweet Potato Vines, looks like 16 Inches more and they will start climbing the Deck Rail
And one more Vine started climbing up from the Potato, looks like we sure will have some Taters later<
The Temp had crept up to 87 by 11 a.m. and the Tomato in the Pot looked thirsty, the Hose was around back
I had planned to water the Beet Seed Tape again so I hooked up the Hose to the Sink and headed out back

I watered everything out back thoroughly, then pulled the Hose around the side of the Building
Thought later I would water the Plants in front of the next Building and then all my stuff out front
But it was just too hot for me and I gave up that Idea and back inside for the rest of the Day
I did Harvest all the Lettuce Left in AeroGaren 5, now just the Mexibell Peppers started in there
Thought I would later make some more 'Wilted Lettuce' and headed to the Price Chopper for Green Onions and Bacon

Found a High Priced Bacon on a really good Sale, so then back Home I cooked the whole pound in the Oven
Gave me the 1/2 Cup of Bacon Grease I needed for the Lettuce later, then cut the Nubbins off the Onions
A Project then for early on Saturday, plant those Nubbins back there with the others now growing

~ Seven more Green Onion Nubbins to Plant ~

Later I found some nice Leftovers for Dinner, postponed the Wilted Lettuce for later
Had some BBQ Ribs, Baked Potato, Cornbread and the rest of those Buttered Beets I cooked for Thursday
I added a Teaspoon of Cider Vinegar to the Beets, picked up the taste just where they should have been

And with one more glass of Wine and a mini Snickers Bar... that wound up another nice Friday

~ My Blazer Came Home ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Happy 86th Birthday Brother James! ~ (Right)
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

A pretty much nothing Morning on Thursday, no Garden News inside or out, no Plans, no Projects... Ho Hum
I did read the Mercedes Owner's Manual, try to figure out some of that stuff in that Car, has buttons for everything
I was having trouble with the Seat set too low, there is a Button to fix that and I did, Up/Down, Foward/Back
Got it pretty much to fit me and I set off for Lottos, first the Price Chopper for Lottos and a couple Items
Won a couple little ones, went back to the Minit Mart to trade and lost them... That was about it for the Morning
Playing around on the Computer, a Notification it needed a Restart... Whenever... Another Windows 10 Insider Update
So I got Dell One and Dell Two Desktops Restarted and Updated, then started the HP on downloading the Update
Next would be the Laptop when the Upgrade finished on the HP Desktop, getting to be a mostly Weekly routine now

On through a slow slow Day, didn't get out back at all even in fine Weather, might check back there first thing Friday
I want to keep that new Beet Seed Tape moist and hope it will do better than the last one which did nothing
And nothing of any interest (even to me) the rest of the Afternoon, just piddling here are there
Did get to talk to Brother Jim on his Birthday, he says he isn't doing too well, well he is 86 after all

I did put out my recently harvested Beets to simmer for dinner, they were small, just cut in half to serve
I got a ton of Beet Greens out of that last Harvest, but just a few Beets to pickle and the ones to simmer
To serve the Beets I just added Butter, Salt and Pepper, pretty bland, A dollop of Cider Vinegar would have helped
But anyway they were a change and they say 'so good' for you, but the Greens were a lot tastier

To wind up the Day, my mechanic Friend Bob brought my Blazer back after repairs, his Son drove too
He left the Blazer and also the Mercedes he sold me, needed his Son to drive him home

So I have a Spare now if the Blazer conks out, but the hassle awaits, Insurance, Title and License
Details, Details, always too many Details.. Anyway Thursday gone, and here's Friday

~ Hot Day ~ Watered everything in Back Again ~
~ Looks like I now have some Spare Wheels ~

And what for Wednesday besides another Gorgeous Day, we have been Spoiled the last Week or so
First thing I did outside was to trot up the Hill out back to check the Pumpkin Patch
No new Blooms and the Patch needed watering, I would do that a little later, the Mowers did mow last Evening
Then back in, decided to go get some Lottos, on the way past the Office noticed the Dahlias didn't look so good
On the the Price Chopper, got some Lottos, won another $10 Ticket, decided then to swap the ailing Plants in front of the Office
I had two nice Potted Cannas in front of my Place, they like a lot of Sun like in front of the Office
So I lugged them out to the Mercedes, put them in the Trunk, up to the Office, placed them, put the Dahlias back in the Trunk
Back home I trimmed the Dead Blooms off the Dahlias and watered them, I think they will revive

~ Dahlias First Planted ~ Replaced with Cannas ~

~ Dahlia Ailing the Most ~ This One not so Bad ~

And slipping on into the afternoon, I wasn't eager but I hooked up the Hose and dragged it up to the Pumpkin Patch
I turned onthe SOrayer to 'Fukk' and water the patch really good, see if that peps up the Pumpkins
Then back down to the other Beds and watered them again really well, they mostly look fine, expecially the Tomatoes

That was it for the Day for Garden attending and outside maintenance duties, it does keep me busy<
On into a very long and kind of boring Afternoon with those negative News reports and lousy Politics
I had my Margarita, then several Glasses of Wine waiting for Dinner and to see my Blazer returned

My Mechanic friend was supposed to bring my repaired Blazer back and waiting for his Son to take him back Home
That meant than the other potential Buyer was not buying the Mercedes and looks like now I have a Spare
Well, the price is right and it is only 9 years older than my Blazer which itself it well over the Hill
It runs real good, gets better Milage and the Body is free from rust which my Blazer is not
So it looks like it would be a good Spare if and when my Blazer conks out again... And like the Song
It has Decals on the rear that proclaim 'I've been Everywhere Man!'

~ I've Been Everywhere over there Man! ~

Now on to a Good Thursday Please...

~ Ever Onward and Upward! ~

~ First Blooms on the Cannas ~
~ My Missing Cat is Back ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ First Canna Blooms of the Season ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And so, that wild Fat Cat that adopted me for Dinner handouts usually showed up every afternoon
And sometimes Afternoon and then the next Morning too, but one evening a couple weeks ago, he didn't show up
Well he has missed a couple Days before at times but this time didn't show up for a long time
I don't know how long exactly but I began to think something happened to him, maybe run over?
Anyway, Monday evening I looked out the front Window and he was looking in at me... Hey Cat!
So I fixed him up a Plate of Gizzards and Cat Food and sat it out front, a couple of 'Thank you Mews"
And he got at the Food with Gusto... Don't know where he was but looks no worse for wear...

~ The Cat is Back ~

Another Sunny and Warm Day on Tuesday. headed out in the Mercedes to the Minit Mart for Lottos
I thought I didn't like it so much on Monday afternoon but got to liking it better this Morning
And at the Price I can get it, I am thinking it might not be a bad 'Spare', even if 9 years older than my Blazer
Runs great, clean interior, no body rust like on the Blazer, called Bob, 'Hey, if that guy doesn't want it, I'll take it"

So I got my Lottos then a stop back by the Price Chopper for some things abd headed home to scratch off my Fortune
But it sure wasn't in that short stack of Lottos I got at the Minit Mart, zero winners out of Three tries

So what then before it got too Hot, maybe mow out back a little, In front and back of my Garden Beds
The Mowing crew doesn't do a very close job there, I want it short to keep away the Bugs and whatever
So I plugged in my Electric Cord and headed back to do my Chore, and it was a bit of that
First I mowed beside the Buiding where my Popcorn Roses and Rhubarb are, then around the Garden Beds
The Mowing Crew doesn't get very close to the Ditch on the back side so I mowed that down pretty good
All done for the Morning and back in at Noon, worked up a good sweat, needed to cool down and rest up

~ Look Mom I Mowed out Back ~ Do I get an Ice Cream? ~

So later in the Afternoon I decided I wanted to bake some COrnbread so back to the Price Chopper
Gt a couple boxes of that 'Jiffy' Corn Muffin Mix and a couple more Lottos, this time a little luck, a $10 Win
Back by the Box to pick up my Snail Mail, no money donations in there, all I get is Bills and Flyers
Then into the rest of that long nice Day, Cocktail, depressing Political News, finally Dinner
Some of that Smoked Chicken again, that was sure the best I have done in a long time, maybe the new Rub I tried
I had givrn some to my Mexican Neighbor earlier, he had to come back and rave about it, telling me how good it was

Anyway, Fresh baked Cornbread with Butter, Smoked Chicken, Potato Salad, glass of Vino Tinto... Yeah
Ok, Tuesday adjourned... Wednesday Meeting convened... Let's go!

~ One more Cantaloupe Seedling on Monday ~
~ First 'Cucumberette' on the Vine ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Some Pink Popcorn Roses ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And out to herd the Mercedes up to the Price Chopper, traded in that $16 Win for more
Back home to scratch off only a lonely $5 Win, Oh well... Better luck next time?
On the way in I noticed One of the Popcorn Roses next door was blooming a pretty Pink
They usually have White and sometimes Yellow Bloooms, this Year getting lots of Pink and Yellow
And also, saw Two of the Cannas were setting their first Blooms... I'll get a Pic tomorrow

So again a Gorgeous Day started, Sunny and heading to 85 they say, what can I do to pass the Time?
Well first, a catch up Trip out back to see what's what... I have to keep up with the Plants

I didn't 'water in' the Beet Seed Tape I planted on Sunday so that was the first Item of Business
Filled my Sprinkler Can and headed around back, stopped to snap a Photo of the new Melon Seedlings
I planted Six Seeds in that Hole and now Five Seedlings have Germinated, hope they do better than the first try

~ Five of the Cantaloupe Seeds have Germinated ~

Next in the Tomato Bed, I planted a few more leftover Inches of that Beet Seed Tape next to the other Row
Then I watered in the Seed Tapes and gave the Green Onions a nice Drink too, looks like all the Beds need Water now
And a look in the Cucumber Bed, HAH! First Cucumber spotted, and looks like a Bumper Crop ahead this Year

~ First Cucumber ~ More are on the Way ~ Lots of Blooms ~

Back by the Rhubarb Bed on the way back in, Oh No! I need to harvest more of that soon
Already have snipped Rhubarb Three or Four Times this Season, made Pie and Sauce and some Stored

~ Lots of Rhubarb to Clip and Freeze ~

That was all the Gardening for the Morning, on to the long 'loverly' Day, was Sunny and Hot!
The Plants out front were looking Dry, well the Rains did back off finally, went in to hook up the Hose
Then watered everything out front quite thoroughly, then up the Stairs to water the new Dwarf Spruce I planted
And then all the Plants I planted at the next Building, asked the Girl next Door if she wanted to water her plants
She did, I handed her the Hose, she water all the Veggies she has in Pots in front of her place
I finished my watering there and that was enough for me on that day approaching 90 Degrees, back inside<

So I mixed a Manhattan, watched some TV, then rejuvenated, back out in late afternoon to water some more
First the Roses and Rhubarn n te side, then all the beds in back and a lot of watering was needed
All finished, back inside to wind down the Day, TV, a Glass of Vino Tinto and Dinner and Beddy Bye... Goodnight Irene

What's today now? ...Oh Tuesday, what today? whoever knows?

~ Planted another Row of Beets ~
~ Radishes Bolted ~ Pulled and Tossed them All ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Last look at the 'Bolted' Radishes ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Got an early Phone Call Sunday, I need a fuel Filter for my Blazer and a Mechanic Friend is going to fix it
He came by to pick up my Blazer and left a Mercedes I just might buy from him later, the price is right
So then I finished my Morning Routine and no Wheels so I couldn't go for Lottos... well the Mercedes... but I could wait

Anyway Bob brought his Wife's 'Note Book' Computer with him, seems it picked up some troublesome Malware
So that was my Project for the Morning, had to charge it up to get it going, then read the Manual to see how it worked
When I got it going the first thing I did was to get online and download the 'SUPERantiSpyware' Portable Edition
Then I copied the Program to a flash Drive and installed in on the Note Book, and did a full scan
Finally finished and it found and removed several hundred Items, got online then and it seemed to run fine

~ The Cute Little Note Book ~

The Weather was starting out gorgeous again, and I had pulled all the Beets in one Garden Yesterday
And I had another Beet Seed Tape so let's go plant it, took some Potting Soil up with me too
I saw that the Radishes had Bolted, just making big Stems and no Radishes... Happens to me every year
It is a combination of Moisture and hot Days that do it, have to plant Radishes in the cool Spring
So I just pulled them all and tossed them, they were blocking the Cucumbers anyway

In the Tomato Bed, I pulled some Weeds, then dug the Soil up some with my Trowel, then layed down a path of Potting Soil
Sort of tamped that down a bit then layed out the Beet Seed Tape then covered it with more Potting Soil
Maybe that will give them a jump start with that Miracle-Gro super Vitaminized Soil... Ya think?

~ New Row of Beets Planted... As if I needed more Beets ~

When I was finished planting the Beets I got a Photo of the Onions Experiment and it seems to be doing well
Might be able to pull those Onions in another week or so, then they say you can replant the Nubbins from those

~ Onion Nubbins lookin' Good ~

On into the Afternoon and I wanted to trade in some Lottos so I wanted to fire up the Mercedes
I had a Mercedes before but it was a lot simpler than this wagon, all those Buttons do what?
Finally found how to get the Windows down, it was HOT in there, then... How do you adjust the Seat?
Had to call Bob, Hah, it's on a button on the Door, a couple more questions and I took off
And it runs pretty peppy and Bob says it gets better Gas milage than the Blazer but I'm not sure I want it

~ That Mercedes ~ Do I really want that old Antique as a Spare? ~

Anyway, off to the Price Chopper, traded Lottos and won back my Money with a little Profit
Nothing much the rest of the Day, now Monday already, have to check out what's to do to start the Week

Up and not quite up and at 'em on Saturday Morning but the Posterior ache is waning some
The muscle pain from that Lupron shot seems to last a Week or more, no other shot I've had does that
Made it hard to even walk on the Day after but much better now... Oh well the Doc advised I should have it

So another Weekend to waste, first a check on the Indoor Gardens, all looking good
Especially the Poblano Peppers and Golden Cherry Tomatoes, looking healthy, the Mexibell Peppers just starting

And so, nice Morning, nice Forecast, time to get out and check the Crops, first out front
That Sweet Potato Plant is really going at it this Year... About Seven Vines climbing now
The lead Vine is now at 61 inches, grew 3 and 1/2 Inches overnight, the rest trying to catch up
If this turns out like the one in 2014 there will be sweet Potatoes in the Pot again, Ten in there then

~ Sweet Potato Vine now at 61 Inches ~

Then I headed up the Hill to check the Pumpkins, about the same as Friday, one Plant now 'Vining'
I think I should just ignore them a few Days until they decide to produce a Female Bloom, if they ever get in the mood

Back down to the Garden Beds, around the end to the Cantaloupe Cage and see Two more Seedlings popped up
And the other seedlings planted Earlier growing nicely now, give us a little more Sun, please

~ Two More Cantaloupe Seedlings ~

The rest of the Beds looking better every Day, the Beets looked like they needed Harvesting to me
So I pulled them all, I have another Beet Seed Tape to replace them and start anther Crop
The smaller Beets like these are more tender and sweeter and don't have that 'woody' taste
And all those Greens that will make are better when they are Harvested early, and there are lots of of them there

~ Beet Harvest on Saturday ~

And so I came back in and filled the Sink with Water to Wash and freshen the Beets and Greens
Then cut off the Beets to store in the 'Crisper Drawer' and cut up the Greens to store in the Freezer with the first batch
Dumped the Greens into the Sink and filled it with fresh Water, rinsed the Greens, did it two more Times
Then drained them on Towels and then made two Piles and then into my biggest Bags for the Freezer
I have one more big Bag of those Greens already in the Freezer, looks like soon I will have too many

~ Beet Greens to Sack ~ Beet Greens to Freeze ~

~ Beets to Simmer for Dinner ~

And that was about all the action for Saturday, time for the Afternoon and Evening Routine
And now Sunday Morning, and to think... what's Happening today?

~ Another Nice Weather Day ~
~ Just Checking the Gardens ~ Not much going On ~

~ Mexibells ~ Day Two ~ Two more Seeds Germinated ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Friday Morning, first thing, checking AeroGarden 6... Two more Seeds Germinated, will have to clip those
Only one plant should grow in one Pod, the Plants get too big, so only one survives clipping
Still no germination of the Poblano Seeds I planted in there, guess I should go ahead and dump them

Good Weather again, Sunny and heading over 80, out to check the Gardens again
The Sweet Potato in the Pot really doing Great! 6 1/2 Inches of Growth since Wednesday
Now at 57 1/2 Inches, only 32 Inches more needed to reach the floor of the Deck above

~ Sweet Potato Vine now at 57 1/2 Inches ~

And out back and up the Hill, the Pumpkins are just not quite doing great, more Blooms though
The Plants are not 'Vining' yet and still the first Female Blossom has not shown up, still too wet up there

So back down to take a peek at the Cantaloupes, first planted look OK, new Seeds planted May 27th are just emerging
Second time I have tried Melons in my Parkviile Gardens, last year I planted several Transplants that did nothing
I used to have great luck with Cantaloupes back in my Saint Joseph Gardens, now almost 20 years ago

~ New Seedlings Up ~ First Planting looks Good ~

And so, that was pretty much it again on a nice Wetaher but slow activity Day
Looks like another of the same for Saturday but ya never know around here... Let's get at it

~ MRI First Thing Thursday ~
~ Mexibell Peppers Popped up ~

~ Two Mexibells Germinated Overnight~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Doing the usual Computer stuff on Thursday Morning... no hurry, MRI Appointment not until 10:45
Updated my BLOG... Did a little Video Editing, getting ready for another Video of Pat's Summer Garden
Checked the Aerogardens, looking for those Peppers in Garden 6... And lookeee!, two seeds Germinated!
I planted the Poblano experiment Seeds on May 9th and they still haven't germinated after 24 Days
But I read online that Poblano Seeds take forever and a Day to Germinate... Give them a little more time?
Well really, it looks like it is about time to give up on that Experiment, after twice the Germinating time
The Mexibells now doing a little better, I planted them on May 26th with Seeds I bought online

Off to Tremont Imaging at 10:30, checked in, a short wait, not many there, and back to the Torture Chamber
So I was wrong about the Needle, she said my Primary Doc had not ordered a 'Contrast' but they reccomended it
That means an IV Needle to inject the Contrast medium... Oh well, didn't hurt much at all
Then she said it would take Thirty Mnutes! You kiddin me? Lay still on my back for Thirty Mnutes, but I did it

I have had several CT Scans but I guess I never had an MRI... You ever had one... talk about NOISE!
She said it would be noisy and she put Headphones on me to block out some, helped a little I guess
Anyway the procedure fired up, the Machine already making plenty of noise before starting
Then the Imaging started and she was sure right, sounded like I was in a Star Wars Invasion
A series of loud noises, them more louder ones, then different and some louder, then some a bit less
On and on forever... No pain but sure not really any fun, finally she said all done.... Hally Loo Yah!
Eased off the Table, still hard to walk after that Lupron shot but I made it, toddled out to my Blazer and headed Home

So then the rest of the Day was pretty slow, not feeling like going up that Hill in back, hurt to walk much
I did a little more editing on the next Video I will do on Pat's Garden, have the Intro and Ending finished
Now just wait until the Flowers are Bloomimg and I go to Video the Garden Part

The only Garden work I did here was to take the Harvested Pods out of the AeroGarden 4 and clean it out
Now two Three Pod Gardens empty and waiting for the next Crop Idea, think I have one now

~ Two Gardens Empty ~ Garden 4 with Lettuce Crop ~

So it again was a pretty slow Day and I got sleepy again in the Afternoon, hit the sack for a Nap again
I hope this doesn't become a habit... Maybe have to cut out the Afternoon Cocktail, or the early Wine sipping
Sometime later I got up feeling better and again found something for Dinner and started on another really long Movie
Got about halfway through and decided it was realy time for Bedtime and I adjourned the Movie for later

Now Friday... HAH! No appointments and no plans, just another kick-back Day, might check the back Gardens again
So... Hi Ho... Hi Ho... it's off to nowhere I go...

~ Pay Day Today! ~
~ And a Vist to another Doctor ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ View Out the Doctors Exam Room Window ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And so... Supposed to have another 'Mostly Sunny' Day and topping at 80, the Gardens will like that
Well, so will I too for that matter, after I get back from the Urologist, got stuck in the Arm for a PSA last Week
Today I will probably get another Needle in the Posterior like every Six Months for how long now?
Well, might as well do as the Doctor says, he just might be right and Insurance pays the $4,000 for it

Headed out at 8:45 for a 9:15 Appointment, got there right on time, checked in quickly
And in a shorter time than Usual, they called me in, got the 'sample' delivered and into the Exam Room
The usual Questions and Tests and then time for the Doctor... and he came in quicker that usual
Says my PSA Nunber was still low but he still advised another Lupron Shot... OK... Darn it
So he left, and the Nurse cam armed, Doggone that Syringe looked BIG! Drop 'em and bend over
Then Zing and she was all dome, hardly felt that one at all.. (but it is aching now) (and will for a week)
OK, all done with that for Six Months... What's Next? Yeah an MRI Brain Scan for Thursday
And next week, a Sonogram at the Cardiologist's Office... 'Balance' problems... Hope they can fix it

And back at El Pato Rancherito, snipped Lettuce for a Sandwich, the last from the Garden Three
That makes two empty AeroGardens to plant with something if and whenever

So out front to to do a Sweet Potato report, grew 8 Inches more, there were Three Vines climbng at first
Now I see at least Six Vines climbing... Top one was at 43 Inches on Monday, May 30 and now at 51 Inches, Wednesday Jume 1
Looks like they are pickng up climbing Speed. It was 2.6 IPD and now it is 4 IPD... When does it hit the Deck?

~ Now at the Top of the Trellis ~

OK, Bright Sun and 81 Degrees and back out and up the Hill at 2:30 p.m. to see what's what
Well 'What' is that the Beds are looking a whole lot better than two Days ago, two days of Sun ya spose?
Up on top the Pumpkins still don't look all that good, I think just too much shade up there and too much rain the year
But the Beds in the new location are getting lots more Sun and look a lot better than last year

First the Cucumber Bed, the Radishes looking better, Onions showing a tiny bit of 'hair' growth
And the Cucumbers looking great! Blooming and Climbing. Cukes here we come, and I think I can keep the Varmints out this Year

~ Cucumber Bed with Radishes and Onions too ~

Next the Pepper Bed with lots of stuff besides the Peppers, the Cucumbers in the enbds of that Bed look good
The Swiss Chard is beginnng to show some growth, the Peppers and Eggplants not doing so much
The Onion 'Nubs' look good, also the two Garlic Cloves I planted there

~ Pepper Bed with Green Peppers, Eggplant, Cucumbers and Swiss Chard ~

Last the Tomato Bed, the Tomatoes really grew the last few Days, looking very good and maybe a really good Crop this year
The few Beets I left in that Bed are showing some growth now and can be Harvested any time now
When I pull those last ones I still have a Seed Tape I can plant to try another Crop

So that was all the Gardening for the Day, time to go in for a Margarita and wind down the Day

~ Tomato Bed with Tomatoes and Beets and Green Onions ~

So I mixed my Margarita, watching TV as the Afternoon slipped by, that Shot location not feeling so good
And I was tired, so I just gave up and laid down for a nap, woke up in an hour, still not feeling so good
So I undressed and went on to Bed way too early... Woke up a couple Hours later feeling some better
So I got up, scrounged up some Dinner and back to the TV to watch a new Movie all the way

And it was not a pleasant night, I don't ever remember that Lupron shot area aching so bad...
But they are all painful for quite some time, eventually go away but the 'Hot Flashes' go on forever

So up early on Thursday, even hard to walk with that sore butt! But better as the morning wore on
And back today to get that MRI Brain Scan but maybe there won't be any needles with this one
Anyway off to the new day and the new adventures, some good and some not so good... but... Ever On!

~ A Nice Memorial Day Weekend ~
~ And a Nice Last Day of May Today? ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Memorial Day 2016 ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Memorial Weekend over and it was a good one, Flags out and BBQ too and Remembering my Great Air Force Days!
One of the Best things in my life I lucked into, I was taking the Test for the Army, the Recruiter looked at my Test Score
He said 'With that Grade... Go talk to that guy'... (The Air Force Recruiter) Great stroke of Luck and Advice
And I was trained as a 'Camera Technician'... Later transferred to 'Photographer' and spent my Four Years in the States
For me... Three great Assignments as Photo Supply NCO at three Bases, all in the USA, and it was just a Four Year Vacation!

So now the Day before Pay Day and doing better on expenses than last Month and maybe June will be better
If for once I could only hit the Lotto 'Big One' and pay off all my acounts I wouldn't have to go to Heaven, I would be there!

So off to the Price Chopper to search for my Pot of Gold, and did find a couple Grains... a $55 Win
I had traded in a $15 Win for that so that looks like a profit of $40 don't it? Well close anyway

~ Second $50 Win in Two Days ~

And so, back to el Ranchito... What to do all Day, well check on the Gardens again...
First all the way to the top, I saw a couple Pumpkin Blooms, to check on, want to find a Female Bloom
But again, two big handsome Male Blossoms, no beautiful Females to Pollinate... Keep looking

Back down to the other Beds, new Cantaloupe Seeds not germinating yet, ones planted earlier going slowly
Next in the Tomato Bed, one nice big Tomato in a race with one out front to see who ripens first
The Neighbor's 'Roma' doing OK in there, the Onion 'Nubs' doing good too, a few more Beets getting bigger

Then, the Pepper Bed, Swiss Chard finally beginning to show some nice Growth, Cucumbers in there Climbing the End netting
The Peppers and Eggplant not doing so great... And the Beet Tape I planted in back doing nothing yet

Last the Cucumber Bed, the Cukes doing fine, the Radishes just so-so, the Onions in there still just showing green 'hairs'
On the way back in, noticed the 'Red Stemmed' Rhubarb was ooking better than ever, more Pie son, maybe

Then, 11:30 a.m. Sun came out nice and bright, was Cloudy all morning, now if it would just stay that way and wake up my Garden
The Weather was fine for outside doings but there wasn't anything that needed doing except snipping old Rose Buds
But I wasn't in the mnood for that, would like to mow some in back but still too wet
So it was just another long Afternoon to laze around and be bored with the Politics on TV
I made a Sandwich for Lunch using a lot of My Kitchen Lettuce, will be down to one Garden Producing soon
Garden One is now empty and Garden Three soon will be, but Garden Four is still full of new Lettuce

Made some fresh Potato Salad for Dinner, then hotted up some more of those Last Smoked Ribs, very tasty stuff
Then another old Movie to finish off the Day, now off to another Doctor on Wednesday...
