And... I sent an Email on Wednesday to AeroGro with a Photo of my Garden 7 with one Lettuce Pod failing
And into another Afternoon, what now? All that Rhubarb in the Freezer... Let's make a Pie!
Back home to start on the Pie, defrosted the Rhubarb, peeled the Apples, then into the Crust
They don't waste any time, got an Email back on Thursday and saying this:
Hello Donald, Thank you for your email
We are sorry the salad greens failed to germinate
We have submitted a replacement Salad Greens order for you today
You should receive it within a week to 10 days
So again, great Service, they have corrected every Boo Boo I have had so far
With AeroGarden Garden service problems and replacement Seed Pods, well they do say 100% Guaranteed
Back to the Price Chopper for a couple things, needed some refrigerated Pie Crusts
A couple Apples to add in with the Rhubarb and some Candy and Nuts to celebrate my Winnings for the Day
Some Sugar and Flour and Nutmeg and Cinnamon added, on with the top Crust and into the Oven<
Off to the TV with a Margarita for an Hour, then back in the Kitchen to finish the Pie
And into another Afternoon, what now? All that Rhubarb in the Freezer... Let's make a Pie!
Back home to start on the Pie, defrosted the Rhubarb, peeled the Apples, then into the Crust
Out of the Oven to Cool on a Rack, then set out the Goodies for Dinner later
Soe more of that Smoked Pork Shoulder from the Freezer, French Fries and some Cole Slaw
Good way to finish off a profitable Day the Day before Pay Day... YEAH!
And then, maybe not, warm enough at 10 a.m. but not Sunny and they were saying some Rain for the Day
Starting this Afternoon and increasing chance toward the Night... Oh well, we shall see, shall we not?
And so, getting tired of waiting for the Cukes in the Seed Starter Kit, I'll try some Pots
That worked pretty well with the Pumpkins, so I'll see how the Cucumber Seeds will do in them
Weather looking almost like the Sun would peek out about Noon time... Lets go plant!
Tom the Maintenance Man, working upstairs, says better wait a few Days.. I says I got to go PLANT! NOW!
So I popped the two largest Cucumber Plants out of the Seed Starter, into a plastic box and headed out back
Dug a couple deep holes for the long Roots and slipped in the Plants, filled them in and watered them
Now hope for the Best, worst case, if the Cold gets them... I still have plants in the Seed Starter and more now in Pots
And I thought that was about it for Gardening on Wednesday... Mixed a Margarita, catching up on TV
And... Admiring my Gardens in the Window... but... what about that Mint Plant? So much taller than the Rest
Already forgot how that happened, new Herbs in most of the Pods, that tall Mint Plant in just one
So, how about putting that in a Pot and starting something new in that Garden? Let's do it
Out to the Kitchen Table, that Basil looked done for, just toss it, then Plant the Mint in the Pot
And what for the Empty Pod in the Garden 4? Well I had some Oregano Seed, and some extra grow Sponges
So, some Oregano Seeds in the Sponge and that into a Pod base and that then into Garden 4... and see what happens
So, I started the Day with no plans, ended up busy pretty much busy all Day, what for Thursday?
Again no plans, Supposed to be in the 60s Today, (YThursday) 40s Tonight, should not have to cover anything outside
But I might get lucky again and find something interestung to keep me busy... Anyway.. Off to another fine Day
And a check on the Seed Started Kit in the Kitchen, a little progress, not as expected though
I planted Fifteen Seeds, so far only Five have Popped up, may have to replant some of them
But then I can also plant the Seeds up in the Garden Beds when the Weather warms a little more
And then a run up the Hill in back to take the Covers off the Pumpkin Plants, they still look good
The Weather man said last night only one more Freezing Night expected, then maybe all clear
Then 64 Degrees and Sunny but very Windy at Noon-Thirty Tuesday... Warm enough but nothing much to do out in back
And BORED again and can't think of anything to do... Ho Hum....
Well, I reveived the little USB Keyboar for my Cell Phone, just something tp play with
But I opened the Package, opened the Keyboard and a Keybutton fell off, Oh No!
I saw that a little plastic that held it on was broken so I couldn't fix that, sent an Email
Got a reply, they said to send a Photo and they would look into it, came from China, took two weeks to get here
So I might get a new replacement sometime in April? No importante, only to play with anyway
So, a long boring day and not much else, 56 degrees now on Wednesday at 6:30 a.m and going to 73 they say
Nothing much if anything needs to be up on the Hill, do I need a Job or what?
Off into the 30th Day of my 30th Year of Retirement, so much Fun! (Some of the time)
And not much at that, the usual Cocktail and TV Time, some more Corned Beef and Cabbage for Dinner
I think that uses up all the St. Pat's Day Corned beef for another Year...
Then some of Pat's Cookies for a finale and then off to bed
And now another COLD Monday Morning, but they Forecast Nights above Freezing for the next Week.. I hope
I had set out a Basil Plant Saturday to get a little Sun, too cold, didn't like it, not sure it will survive
And I had the Sweet Potato in the Pot covered bt it didn't look good after that COLD Sunday Morning
I didn't go u pthe Hill to check the Radishes and Pumpkins, sort of concerned what I will find today
I am always rushing the planting Season, I know better but that doesn't stop me from trying
So, 39 Degrees at 9 a.m. and out in front and then up the Hill to check the Farm... After the Cold Night
I had the Sweet Potato and the Pumpkins covered, checked the Sweet Potato, he didn't like the Cold, looks like
Then up the Stairs, and around back and then up the Hill, the Roses at the Side of the House look great!
And the Rhubarb in the next Bed looks good also, One plant looks ready to Harvest already
Next the Radish Bed, doing great with no cover, and the Beets look good, no Cold cover either
Then up the Hill to the Pumpkin Patch, a bit apprehensive, they like it warm... Off with the Cage and Covers
And they also looked just GREAT! So much better than I expected and growing nicely after transplanting too
So, I had those eleven gorgeous Mega Cherry Tomatoes, wanted to give them to Lewis, called him at home
He said he would be there and I headed over to North Kansas City to his Apartment, he was waiting at the Door
Really nice upscale place, has all the extra amenities, he ushered me down the Hall to his place
Then introduced me to his Wife who I have met before at Nature Sanctuary Doings, a nice Lady
So I gave him his Tomatoes, the Wife was very impressed I grew them inside, I showed her Aerogarden Photos
Then some Chat, excused myself and headed on to other things waiting... Then back to Parkville
And then what... Look at that Gorgeous Weather, shivering all day Sunday... Summer back on Monday
And thinking of planting again, now what? I thought of Turnips... Anyone still eat Turnips? I do now and then
If you like them, there no better ones than fresh grown and picked, can eat them raw or in Stew or Buttered
So then, off to Walmart for Turnip Seeds and a couple other Items, decided on Scallion Seeds also
Headed back, stopped in at Minit Mart for Lottos, won a $25 Scratcher, profit of $5... every little bit helps
And then... Headed back on the Hill to plant, carefully spaced out the Swiss Chard Seeds I already Had
Then in the back of the Bed, I planted the Turnip Seeds, they are so tiny I just scattered them in a furrow
Then I sort of scattered the tiny Onion Seeds around in the Tomato Bed with the Beets, will have to thin them later
That was all the Outside activity except that late in the Day I covered the Pumpkins and Sweet Potato
It didn't look like it would drop to the 30s but I wanted to be safe, and the low at 5 a.m. Tuesday is 47
Nothing left then except Afternoon and Evening festivities, I found a Lotto Prize Chicken Breast in the Freezer
So I set that out to thaw, seasoned it, put a Tater in the Oven to Bake, made some fresh Cole Slaw
That all turned out very tasty, ended the Day with another old TV Rerun on Netflix... Bye Bye
Wandered out into the Kitchen for whatever on Saturday and noticed a stranger in with my Orange Tree
Didn't notice just when that started but it grew tall quickly, wonder what it is?
Maybe I'll just repot it by itself and see just what it grows into later?
Wish the Weather would warm up enough to get all these Pots outside in the Sunshine
And so, my Morning stuff done and off into the Wintry Day, still snowing at 10 a.m.
My Windshield was covered, I thought the Wipers would just wipe it off but not quite
Had to wait a bit until the Defroster melted it some and then off to the Price Chopper
Traded my last $20 Win at the Service Counter for $20 more Tickets and then won $20 back
That isn't any profit is it? Well, I'll try again on Monday, don't want to lose all that again
Back home, now ain't that cute? My new little Spruce Trees all decorated wih Spring Snow
Maybe I can light up those little Christmas Trees with LEDs next Christmas...
So the Snow stopped, the Sun peeking out a little at Noon but still saying 34 Degrees
They said a high of 49 but that was still a long way off at Noon, maybe the the Sun will peek out some more
I was watching the Birds at the Feeders out front, quite a crowd at times, and several kinds
Saw a big black Crow strutting down the street, he took off, lots of Sparrows feeding on the ground
Several Chickadees and Titmice at the Gazebo and new Tube Feeder too... Then a Downy Woodpecker (I think)
A couple of Big Blue Jays, then several Cardinals showed up, Male, Female and a couple young ones, the Red not as bright
And so, this drivel comment is again getting long, do I need something else to do? Well I found a few minutes worth
I did decide to transplant that Seedling that popped up above... Found it had a long thin Stem
And that ended in a round hard ball of a Seed about 1/2 inch round, then a tap Root from the bottom of that
And so... Looked like one of those Bradford Pear things that fall off the Tree all over the Yard
Maybe one fell in that Pot when it was outside and sprouted into a Tree Seedling, let's watch and see
Well now I am going to wind this up for the Day on Sunday, I'll finish the rest of Sunday on Monday Morning
You think you can wait that long for more of my relentless Diatribe of nothingness?... Hasta la Vista!
OK... 9 a.m. and the third Update was in progress, just got back from the Price Chopper
Out in that dreary Drizzle to trade in my last $30 win for $20 more and only won $5 back
Checked the Basil I set out yesterday, looks OK and so does the Sweet Potato in the Pot
Maybe if the Drizzle stops and the Sun comes out, I might go up on the Hill to check the Pumpkins
Well, the drizzle didn't stop soon and it was Cold and Wet back there so no backyard farming for Saturday
Later I got a call from Pat Harris, wanted to come over and visit, said she had a gift for me
And the Rain had stopped but was still dreary and Cold when I saw her coming down the Hill
Welcome, come in and chat... she gave me the Cookies... Dee Lish! Gracias por tu generosidad!
So then a long Afternoon of pleasant chat, my Videos and TV and Computer and Nature Sanctuary goings on
And I caught her up on Lewis' Medical trouble, then we called and talked to him together
Another dreary Day warmed up by good Company and Conversation, she headed up the Hill and I headed to the Kitchen
I found some home made Pork and Bean Soup, my own Mix... Hotted that up with Cornbread for a nice cold day warm-up Dinner
Some of those Cookies then for Dessert and off too early again for Beddy Bye... NOW IT'S SUNDAY!
Fired up the Computer, hit the Internet and this Bunnny was staring at me on the Bing Browser
Aha... It IS Easter... isn't it? and I fotgot to color my Eggs!.... Off to the new Day!
And so, on with the Chilly Day warming up to 38 Degrees at 10 a.m. Took the Cover off the Sweet Potato Pot
Saying 46 for the Low Friday Night and 38 the next Two Nights, wonder if I could dare to plant my Pumpkins?
Well, I am always rushing the Season, guess I can replant if we do get a couple of Freezing Nights
And so, about Noon-Thirty. Bright Sun and 49 Degrees, out and up the Hill to the Pumpkin Patch
Tossed off the Cage and then planted them, nice soft tilled soil, and Pat's Compost underneath
I didn't separate the Seedlings, well I don't go by the Rules, just let them, fight it out who wins
And then I stopped down at the Tomato Bed where I planted the Beets, the Seedlings not doing much in there
But they needed thinning like most Beets do, and I spent a few Minutes doing that
Then two beds over, got a new Photo of the Radishes and they are doing as good as can be expected
So then what? That was just about it, I did set a Basil Plant out front to get a little Sun
No more Freezing nights for about a Week, still rushung the Season, a couple more ahead in a week
Saying two nights below freezng Saturday and Sunday, April 2nd and 3rd but that could change
And then, I just finished out the Day as usual, Margarita, Some TV and something good to eat... Finito!
Woke up at 3:30 a.m. to a LOUD BANG of some sort... No idea what... Tried to go back to sleep
But I went to Bed early again and was all slept out I guess, so I gave up and got up
Mixed my Juice, made my Coffee, back to the Computer, did my Email, checked the Bank and Facebook
Then worked two online Crossword Puzzles... Then? Well, out to the Kitchen to load and start the Dishwasher
And next... Rion at the Service Desk has been giving me loser Lotto tickets to enter for Prize Points
The Sratchers are easy but the Draw Tickets take more time so I did all the Scratchers earlier
And I had quite a stack of Tickets left to enter so I started on those... BORING! But I got a lot entered
I have about 12,500 Points now and lots of Prizes available for that, but nothing I want right now
On to 7:30 a.m. then and checked the Temp... HAH! Now at the 37 Degrees the Weather man predicted
I peeked out to check the Light Rain they said was happening... Not raining then but the Street was wet
And COLD out there... Brrrrr... Nothing like yesterday afternoon... Bring my Spring back
So, I picked the Eleven red ripe Tomatoes from Garden 6, got that nice Photo up there, looking good!
So far, picked Two for Lewis but he wasnt there, ate them myself, Wednesday gave Two to my Neighbor
With the Eleven I picked Thursday that makes Fifteen so far, checked the Garden, now 15 more coming along
9:30 a.m. Out on a Dam(p) Cold Morning... Brrrr, off to the Price Chopper to try my bad luck again
And that's just what I got... now a long dark wet cold Day ahead with no plans at all... BORING!
Oh well, thought I might just download all my Internet Site files for backup in case I needed it
I did have a Boo Boo once where I lost my Internet Files from my Computer and got them back from my Domain
I do all my Web Stuff on my Dell Two Desktop and usually have all the latest files there
But it would be nice to have the entire Web Site on the other Two Desktops for backup also, and so...
Most everything including the latest uploads are on my Dell Two, I started downloading them on my HP Desktop
When that finishes I'll put them on my Dell One and then have most all my Web Files on Three Computer Hard Drives
Then on through a long, cold, boring, no nothing Day, the only activity wad picking those Tomatoes
Looking good on the Kitchen Table Friday Morning, thinking of taking them down to Lewis at the Coffee Shop
That is... if he shows up, the last two times I took Tomatoes... he wasn't there... So...
Again, temp below freezing Friday Morning but not as Cold as predicted.. at least not at 6 a.m.
Off now to Friday and the Weekend, and sure hoping Pay Day shows up soon
The Mega Cherry Tomatoes can be picked any time now, I picked two and gave them to a Neighbor
I might picked them all, try again to take some down to Lewis at the Coffee Shop<
I tried that the last Two Wednesdays and he was not there, I'll call first of I go Friday
Then off to the the Price Chopper to find my Fortune, it sure was not there again today
Nice day ahead and what can I do outside... not a lot but I had these two big new Pots to plant with something
I was thinking aloud when Pat was here on Tuesday, thinking about planting small Evergreens in them
So off to Lowes to look around, they had lots of kinds and all different Prices... I liked the Dwarf Alberta Spruce
So I chose two that looked about the same, bought them loaded them up and went next Door to Walmart
Needed a few Items there, handy, they are right next door, hardly have to find a new Parking spot but I did closer to the Door
Got my stuff there and then headed back, time to plant again... Started in on that, done in a half Hour
I think they will be just right, and only get maybe 4 or 5 feet tall and are Winter hardy
Will be really nice to see something green out front all year, hope they do well, maybe be Christmas Trees?
Just as I finished Boss Bob came by, he liked them, he asked if I might want to plant some next Door
I had planted Knock Out Roses there last Year but they aren't doing well at all
And on into that DNP Day, a few clouds and kind of breezy but warm up in the 70s
I mixed my Margarita and then sat out front watching the Bridies in that fine Weather
Nothing else much to add to that, just the usual slow Afternoon and Evening to wind up another Day
Then... Out in the bright Morning Sun at 9 a.m. in 53 Degrees, the Sweet Potato in the Pot looks OK
Back then to the 'Outback' and the Radishes also... doing great... only a few more Nights in the 30s left now
I had a couple little Brackets to screw on to the Pepper Bed Base, that didn't take long
Now I can say that the Garden Bed move down the Hill is complete, now just routine maintenance
And ooops. almost out of Vino Tinto, need to run up to the Price Chopper for that
And I got my Jug of Gallo Paisano Vino and talked to Luiz (en Espanol) and of course got $20 of Lottos
Back hime to scratch off a $25 Win, so back to Minit Mart to try again...
This time only got a $15 win so I was back to my original $20 Cash
Back home, nice Day progressing and then that eternal Question, what to do today?
About that time I got a call from Pat, wanted to come over to check on my Gardens and stuff, OK Great! Come on over
Then I headed out in the warm Sun to take the Trash to the Bin, change some Soil around in the Pots out front
Got my Loppers and trimmed the Bushes I had planted out front, at my place and the unit next Door
And I was finishing that up when I saw her coming down the Hill, had a chat out front then headed out back
Saw the Beets popping up a bit, nothing in the Pepper Bed planted yet, then the Radish Crop doing great!
On up the hill to take a look at the Pumpkin Patch which will be planted soon, then a rest on my Hillside Bench
I got a photo of the Rhubarb on the way back in, one plant almost ready to Harvest already
The second Plant doing OK, and the third one that was hiding has decided to grow back once again
I was getting thirsty as it was about my usual Cocktail time but we decided on a Negro Modelo Cervesa, very refreshing
Then checking all the Indoor Gardens and then to the TV and Computers to check on this that and the other
And watching a recap of some of Bates Motel I have been watching... and she agreed with my assessment... Terrible!
On through the the pleasant afternoon, then time for her to take care of her animals as usual
And then for her get ready for the Nature Sanctuary meeting that evening at City Hall
For me, a glass of Vino Tinto and find something for Dinner, turned out a nice one, another Pork Chop
Some 'Greek Fried' Potatoes and another huge bowl of Wilted Lettuce from the last Harvest
Was tasty but so much I could not finish it all, the rest can be used but not as good as the fresh wilted stuff
And that finished another great Day, great Weather, good Company and good Eats and Drinks... I'm in Heaven!
The Pumpkins I started in Pots are big enough to Transplant now but the Weather isn't raady
And I planted my Cucumbers inside on Saturday, hoping to get then outside in maybe three Weeks
Looks like I can harvest a few 'Mega Cherry' Tomatoes any Day now and I have that new Lettuce Crop planted
And that first Lettuce Crop, what a Winner! And from a failed AeroGarden where they were first Planted
I didn't think that Planting would survive and Miracle-Gro sent me Seven new Lettuce Pods to replace them
But the first ones grew and produced and I did not have to replant and used those Pods for my second Planting on Sunday
And then the Lettuce was growing fast and ready for first Harvest on January 28, more January 29, and January 30
Kept coming back strong, snipping some for Sandwiches and Wilted Lettuce every few days until it began to wear out in March
But... back to the Present, Monday Morning... Checking the Front Room Plants. that Basil really growing
But what is it with the rest of the Plants in that Garden?... looks like Three Duds...
Can't remember if I planted all those at the same time, but three doing nothing, the Curley Parsley a little
And the Mint Plant in the Center just a little more, have plans for that Garden... today!
Then checking the Cucumbers out in the Kitchen in the Seed Starter Kit, Hey Hey! What is that?
Just planted those Seeds on Saturday Morning, looks like Three popping up already on Monday!
You can see the tops of the Seeds not sprouting yet, tan colored, but the 'white looking'... are Seedlings!
OK, out front in the Sun to take the Sweet Potato out of the Little Pot and install it in the Big Pot
The Weather is supposed to be nice for a few Days, another Freeze coming but I'll cover the Plant overnight
Back inside to tend to that Basil in Garden 4, Pulled out the Pod but the Plant broke off at the base of the Stem
And it was loaded with big Leaves, so I snipped them all, put them in the Oven to dry
Then put Four new Herb Seed Pods back in that Garden, and hoping for better luck this time
And then warming up nicely, out back to work on the Braces for the Pepper Bed, wasn't the strongest Cage I built
That was easy enough, most drilling and screwing on the Braces sitting down... then needed a couple Screws in the top ends
I had to twist the upright while drilling and then putting in the Screw, just then Boss Bob came out back
'Whatcha doin now?' he says... 'Just screwing around' I says... Then he helped, held the upright straight for me
Then I drilled the Hole and tapped in the Screw and all done for the Day back there, did all I had wanted to
So, another busy, productive and fun day in the warmer Weather and more of that to come
Time for the Afternoon and Evening routine again... Finished out a better than average Day... Now let's do Tuesday
About the time I headed out on my Second trip for Lottos I was thinking... I want some Chicken
I got some Coffee Beans earlier, now I headed back to the Meat Counter, thinking I wanted a 'Roaster' Chicken to split and roast
Well, all those were a bit on the Pricey side, still looking, what else? Aha! Big Chicken Leg Quarters for $1.49 a pound
That should do, got a Package of four BIG ones for $7... That's more like it... Headed back home
So, then I trimmed the Chicken, plopped it in the big Pyrex Dish, seasoned with Poultry Seasoning and BBQ Rub
Into the Oven for 45 Minutes, then out, flipped them, then seasoned the other Side, back in for 30 Minutes
Then out of the Oven to Cool, got that pic above... and then... wait for Dinner to Sample my Latest
So then... I mixed a Manhattan, was catching up to the TV News and whatever, looking at my Lettuce Garden
It was getting tall again and I had raised the Grow light, the new leaves were smaller though
And it was looking like the Plant was about finished producing so well, had many Harvests so far
And so, I thought it was time for a final Harvest and then replant for another nice Crop
Then... I snipped all the usable Leaves, trimmed and rinsed and stored them in the Fridge in a Baggy
Next, pulled all the Pods and dumped the Roots and stubs of the Stems, emptied the Grow Bowl, rinsed it out
Filled the Bowl with Water, added Nutrient, put the top of the Bowl back and inserted all new Lettuce Pods
Did the 'New Crop' setup, on with the Lights and now... An tis uh payuh shun... When do we get the new Crop?
A long and busy Afternoon, finding stuff to do besides planting the new Crop, managed TWO Manhattans before Dinner
Got the Chicken out of the Oven, those Chicken Leg Quarters are Huge! I cut the Legs from the Thighs
Two Legs or one Thigh was enough for a Dinner Serving and I opted for a couple Legs with Napa Cabbage Slaw
I did something right this time, that 'Roasted' Chicken was the best Tasting for quite some time
Finished up the TV Evening and then off to Bed... another Cold Morning due on Monday Morning... BAH!
Then back to the Computer to finish up my Drivel Page for Friday and post that to Facebook
And then checking my Internet Speed again, looking good, back up to 23 mbps where it should be
After I called AT&T the first time, and thought it was fixed... it slowed again, I called back
So she was checking around and the Speed headed back up with no tinkering... No idea what was going on
Maybe some line trouble or something wrong with the AT&T Gateway... the Router/Modem... always something
Getting ready to head out at 8 a.m. for my Lottos, checked the Temp... HEY! Fell to 29... now we can't have that!
Well looks like the Sun is peeking over the Gully, maybe it will warm up a little?
Then I headed to the Price Chopper to cash in my Show Me Cash and buy another for tonight
And Rion made a Payment on his Computer there so that would buy my Lottos for the Day at Minit Mart
I got my favorite four Tickets at the Minit Mart and headed back to scratch cff of a $15 Win, that won't quite do
Time to try again at the Fast Stop... I needed a BIG ONE... Had extra Bills again for March
And I did try trading my $15 Wins for more from the Fast Stop... and nothing... not a winner Day again
Then coming down the Hill after the Fast Stop trip I got a new Photo of the Trees in Bloom again
And... The Tree Trimmers last Year, and the Complex Manager and Maintenance Man this Year, who tried to trim our Trees
Sure aren't going to win any Tree Trimming Prizes, they should have just let the Wind blow them over... if and when
And... on Yahoo Messenger with Sigi, he tried to send me a couple Photos. didn't work, so he sent them Email
I don't know what, when or where, he didn't say a word... Just the Photos... HUH Sigi?
It looked in the Photo like there was glare from a Window so I thought he was on another Train trip
So I asked him... 'Was you on the Choo Choo, Charlie?' And he says 'Ja'
Nothing much the rest of that cold and boring Day, just the usual afternoon and Evening
And cold again Sunday Morning, warming up a little, but not enough and looks like two more freezing nights ahead
I want to get my Sweet Potato out into the Pot in Front and the Pumpkins up on the Hill soon
Hope this Cold doen't get to the Radishes that are looking Good and the the Beets just now popping up
Maybe some real spring Weather after this next chilly week?
So... off to a boring day, hit the Minit Mart for all Losers except a $2 Show Me Cash... 'Essy Match'
Then trying online again, Internet seemed awfully slow.. less than 2 mbps... What's the Deal
Checked the other Computers, same thing, rebooted the AT&T Gateway, still slow, checked a little later
OK the Speed back up but not quite to top, now getting 17 to 18 mbps, usually at 22 mbps
And then it slowed to a crawl again, I called AT&T... So they talked me through resetting the Gateway
Had to go through some changes on a Site she said to check, changed some numbers and then FAST again!
And then what? Checking for Updates I saw another Window 10 Insider update was ready, happening often lately
I have only had Build 14279 for a week or so and now another one, Build 14291, and I started updating all the Computers
Wonder if they will mess up anything on this one, I have had really good luck overall
Got all the Computers updated, into the boring Afternoon all over again, just piddling around
Sipping my Maragarita, watching TV, checking out my Gardens in the front Window too
Seeing a couple more Tomatoes turning Color, the Lettuce tall again, picked some for a Sandwich on Thursday
It is still going strong but the plants not as full as before, thinking to replace them soon
I have a another full Seven Pods of 'Salad Greens' waiting to be planted when I do pull those
That was about it for a nothing much cold outside Day, on to Dinner, made a Corned Beef on Rye Sandwich
And some 'Cole Slaw' made with Napa Cabbage and Ranch Dressing... pretty tasty!
OK.. Now it is Saturday and the Coldest Day in a Month... Brrrrrr... 33 at 5 a.m. and a top of 45 on Saturday... Where did my Spring go?
~ Ever Onward and Upward! ~
Then just some puttering around inside and then into the afternoon Routine... Ho Hum... all over again
Decided on a Chicken Sandwich for Dinner with some Potatoes cooked up like warm German Potato Salad
Only with my take... with Onions, Bacon, some of those little pickled Tomatoes I made from my Mighty Minis
For my Sandwich, I used the Mega Cherry Tomatoes I didn't give to Lewis and some of my fresh picked Lettuce
Topped the Sandwich with 'Spin Blend', and then those Potatoes were quite tasty, some of my experiments work well
Kind of a ho hum Day but sometimes that is enough, there is always tomorrow... isn't there?
I didn't see Lewis' Car out front at the Coffee House but I went inside to check
There were Three other Nature Sanctuary Volunteers there but no Lewis, I sat down for a few minutes
They didn't know why Lewis was not there, usually he's there on Monday, Wednesday and Friday
So I caught up with the Chat awhile then I headed back up the Hill for my Lottos supply
Traded in $10 worth to Rion at the Price Chopper and headed back to scratch off a win of $25... Nice start
Back then to Minit Mart for more, this time only won $10, decided to trade that in at the Fast Stop
This time a little better... won $40... Back once again to trade and won NOTHING... still ahead a little though
So, a nice looking Day outside but just a tad chilly for gardening on the Hill, decided to work inside
I want to use that new 'Seed Starter System' that came with Pat's new Garden to plant Cucumbers
But there was a Crop of Thai Basil in it, but reaching the Grow Light, decided to transplant it
Brought in a Pot from outside, Popped out the Plants, set them in the Pot... Looking good
Now I'll have the Aerogarden all cleaned out and ready for the Cucumbers to plant soon
Warming up and Sunny, headed out back to check the Gardens, the Radishes looked ready to thin
So I spent a few minutes at that, looking good, checked the Beets, now a few popping up here and there
Hope what few cold nights we have left will leave these two Crops alone
And then, a few things needed to finish the netting on the Cucumber Bed... the Deer got to my Cucumbers last year
The Bed isn't very tall on the back side and the Gate didn't reach to the top, most of the top was open on the back
The area inside those red lines was all open and the hill behind the Bed is much higher than the front
And the Deer could reach in and eat the tops of the Cucumber Vines, I think I have that solved now
And it was about 2:30 p.m. then, time to stop that nonsense and go back in for a Margarita and TV catchup
And what's for Dinner? I have to work harder clearing out that Freezer and stop cooking so much
I make a little progress and then a super Sale or Holiday shows up and I cook another big batch to store
Well, I suppose if that is my biggest Problem I'll just have to live with it and be happy in my Surplus
And a peek at the Sweet Tater in the Pot, going great so far, sure would like to get it in the big Pot out front
The one I started first isn't doing anything so far, I didn't do it like they say but I do experiment
So they say we have another cold spell on the way before this one goes outside, hope this is the last Freeze
I am ready to go now! I am betting on March 21 for moving stuff outside
A long morning and finally headed out about 10 a.m. Down the Hill to Parkville Presbyterian Church
That's the only time I go to Church, that's where you go to Vote in Parkville
Not very many people there, found a parking place close, not many inside either, no wait at all
I got my Ballot, only one Office to Vote on, President, Marked my one Dot and finito
Who did I Vote for? You know I don't talk Politics much on my Pages... But it sure was NOT her!
And a couple more gorgeous Days ahead until the Chill sets in on Friday, saying a couple of 30 Degree Nights then
I am totally through with Winter this year, I want Nights in the 50's and above from now until October
So back out on the Hill about 1 p.m. Tuesday, more Netting adjusting, a little tricky on that slope around the Beds
I spent most of an Hour back there before heading back in around 2 p.m. thinking I needed to go to Walmart again
So then on to Walmart, visiting there quite a bit lately, well some things of the same quality are lower Priced
And I need a lot of spare change to keep the Lotto Scratchers coming, got my stuff and headed out
And then I got something I wasn't counting on, take a look, what ya think that is?
I also picked up a new Finch Feeder there... My old one sort of fell apart, this one looks more sturdy
I moved the small Hummingbird Feeder over and hung the new Feeder where the old Finch Feeder was
And that was enough of that, my Afternoon was behind time, mixed my Margarita and set some Corned Beef out
This will make the third Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner so far and St. Pat's Day isn't until the 17th
Well, I start early and make the Special Sales Days last... Merry Christmas!
Time to close out Tuesday and start thinking of Wednesday, have my eye on two Red Ripe Mega Cherry Tomatoes
The plan is to harvest them Wednesday Morning then take them down to surprise Lewis at the Coffee Shop
Then on to another good Day, I am having something good happen most every Day now... while they last
So another wait and I was ushered into Rer room, another Clerk first catching up the Computer Records
Then Doctor Susan came in, more checking around, a new Lens prescription and back out into the Fog
And foggier still, she had dilated my Eyes then... Hard to see for half a day after... But the Fog actually helped some
Bright sun popping out when I got back to Parkville and warming fast, needed to get out in that
Set a few Plants out Front for the Sun first, hope the sun is not too strong for them yet
Three more Pumpkin Seedlings popped up, now 9 Seedlings in there, Sweet Potato growing nicely too
Then a late Breakfast, took a few Tools and headed out back around Noon at 57 Degrees...
Only 63 Degrees and in a T-Shirt but that bright Sun warmed me up, had some Netting to staple on the Cucumber Bed
Got that finished and that was enough for the First time, maybe out later, back in to rest up for the Next attempt
But that was the last outing, thought about going back to finish that Netting but felt better inside
And Garden time outside is getting closer but still plenty of time to finish a few things
So I was doing a little research on planting times online... Now some doubts emerge
I was lookig at PUmpkins and they said that they do not taske well to transplanting seedlings
And that is what I was planning... Well I'll try anyway... I can direct sow later if it doesn't work...
I didn't see much about transplanting Cucumbers either and I am planning Seed Starting for those too
Anyway again that was about it for Monday, a not very productive Day but ya can't win 'em all
So what on Tuesday? Missouri Primary Day and I'll head down this Morning sometime to save the World
Not much hope for doing that but I'll do what I can while I can... Off I go again...
