And Monday Morning, the Weather Man says another 70 Degree Day, maybe get back up on the Hill?
Not many more Loads of Soil left now to bring down... And 'Pumpkin Cage' up there to work on a bit later
March starts tomorrow, starting to think of the Summer Gardens now, maybe buy a couple new Pots
And I want to add some new Garden Soil to all three Beds back on the Hill, then what and when to Plant?
And off to find my Fortune and almost found it, well a tad anyway, won $40 worth at the Price Chopper
The another piece of my Spice Cake, then back again to the Minit Mart to try again for the End of the Rainbow
This time won my $20 back plus $15 to buy some stuff at the Price Chopper, Needed Juice, Nuts and Candy
And nice and warm, 50 plus at 10 a.m. On up to 67 Degrees at Noon, time to head back up the Hill again
Tugged my little Cart up to the old Bed Site, filled it with Soil, back down to dump it in the Bed
Then back for three more Loads, a rest on my Garden Bench between loads, then one to go, but needing refreshment
So back inside for a break with a Margarita before going back to finish up for the Day back there
Another peek at the Rhubarb on the way back in, a couple nights below freezing but still growing nicely
A sip sip or Three and back up the Hill one more time for the Afternoon, one more load did it
Toted that Load down dumped it in the Bed, will put off raking it smooth until later...
Then I dragged the Pumpkin Cage I made last year over to where the Pepper Bed was, for the new Pumpkin Patch
No Pumpkins at all last year, Deer or other Varmints got them... But try, try again
And again, that was it again for another Gorgeous last Day of February... March just around the Corner
After that Margarita I switched to a Glass of Vino Tinto to while away the afternoon til Chow time
And again.. what to fix for Dinner, so much good stuff out there, well I decided on leftovers
And that was Meatloaf, Mashed Taters, and Green Beans with Ham and Onions... Ohhh that was good!
Sometimes leftovers are just good or so so, but that setup on Monday was just great!
They say it will bw COLDER on Tuesday but it is Pay Day so that will take come of the Chill off
Let's jump head first into the New Month NOW!
And a early Sunday Morning peek at my Aerogardens again, just now seeing more Jalapenos in Garden 5
They have been blooming for some time since the last Harvest, not seeing the Peppers but they were in there
And lots of Mega Cherry Tomatoes getting bigger every Day, the 'Heirloom' Cherry Tomatoes in Garden 5 not doing much
When I plant Cherry Tomatoes next time they will be the 'Mega' as they are doing great!
And then, another hunk of that last Spice Cake, more moist and better after a night in the Foil Wrap
And then a Trek to the Price Chopper for my Daily Gamble, some Chat with Rion and then my Lottos
And back home to scratch off exactly NADA all over again, Good thing Pay Day is Tuesday
Then 10 a.m. and Sunny and 61 Degrees, very nice... went back up the Hill in a long sleeve Shirt
And then after one load of Dirt back down from the old Site and that Shirt was off and hanging on the Gate
Pushed the Cart back up close to my Garden Bench and took a rest for a couple Minutes
Well, that Hill is steep and full of Mole Hills, rough going even downhill
So then back up again for three more Loads and that was all I wanted for that Session
Dumped the Soil in the Tomato Bed, raked it forward over the Compost to smooth and then looking pretty good so far
Maybe a couple more Sessions to bring down the rest of that Soil and that Project just about completed
The weather continued very nicely on into the Afternoon but I had all I wanted of Garden work
That Hill is bad enough with it's steepness, now all spongy too with hundreds of Mole Hills
Hard enough to walk and push that load of Dirt without all those soft spots but worse with them
On to the rest of the Day but maybe more Dirt moving Monday, not a whole lot left now
So... noticed one of my 'Heirloom' Tomato plants was leaning, tied it up with a piece of Twine
And what's that red spot in there? HAH! Three little ripe Tomatoes Hiding, first on that Plant
Those Plants were Planted 20 Days before the 'Mega' Tomatoes were in Garden 6
And so far I see only those Three 'Heirloom Cherrys' in Garden 5 and about 20 bigger 'Mega Cherrys' in Garden 6
When I replant that Garden, no more 'Heirloons, just will plant those 'Megas'
> What else for Sunday? That was about it, a nice enough Day, not a whole lot done but stil a happy Day
And then Saturday Morning... Bright and Sunny and Warm! 50 Degrees at 9 a.m. and going to almost 70 they say
After my Morning messing around I headed to the Price Chopper for another Try at the End of the Rainbow
And I don't think that you can get there from here, I have been trying for over 20 Years with the Lotto
But one more try at the Price Chopper, not quite a total loss, won a whopping $8 this time
And Pat my Neighbor had some trouble with one of her AeroGardens, I called to tell her I might have a fix
That I did... and then she asked if I would like some Compost for my Garden, she would bring some over
Sounded like a good Idea to me and so I waited for her Visit...
And down the Hill comes her Truck at 10:30 a.m. or so, I had brought my little AeroCart around front
I pushed it out in back of her truck and she loaded in several Buckets of... Shall we say 'Compost'?
I pushed my Cart around back, she followed with a couple more Buckets of... 'Compost'
I took the Gates off the Garden Beds and she dumped in some here and there... Then dug it in some
Now I can head up to the old Site and bring down the rest of that Soil there and into the beds over the Compost
I tried another Slice of my overdone Cake, not so bad with a little Cool Whip on top
Actually only the edges are a bit on the 'Crisp' side, the inner part is pretty good
I gave Pat a couple pieces to take Home, she sampled a bite and says it was OK, well... not my best
On into that Gorgeous afternoon, mixed my Margarita early, not sure of I wanted to tackle the Mountain again
No hurry, it can wait until I get good and ready, that Soil isn't going anywhere fast
Thinking way ahead, I put out a piece of Meatloaf to thaw, later made some Mashed Potatoes and Slaw with Napa Cabbage
I just used some 'Buttermilk Ranch Dressing' for the Slaw and that worked out rather well
That all 'holding warm' in the Oven, and cold in the Fridge until Dinner Time, then on to my TV Catchup
And that pretty well finished out another Day at the El Pato Rancherito... Nice Day then and another one Today (Sunday)...
So a very busy Day at my place and also upstairs, Boss Bob and Tom tearing the place apart
Making a lot of noise and doing a complete overhaul of that place... Mine needs it too after 16 years here
But I have this place stuffed with my Goodies, be a real task to to work that all out
So, yesterday I was talking about that Futon assembly, I did a lttle Harvesting too, that Lettuce again
I thought after the last heavy Snipping I had about exhausted that Garden's Crop on February 15th
But no, after Ten more Days of growing, again the Heaviest Crop of Lettuce yet... Lookee there!
And now... again Today, that Thai Basil is touching the Grow Light again and the Swiss Chard also
So, a slight Harvest of those Two, one to Dry and the other to Freeze until I get enough to cook
So snip snip and snip... That Basil is so so Aromatic... And the Chard has a nice fresh Scent also
I am eager to get enough of that Swiss Chard saved up so I can make a Serving real soon
The Swiss Chard I planted out back last year dd nothing at all, but I'll try that again this Year
And off to the Price Chopper again, had $30 of Winners to trade... Also decided to bake a Cake, needed stuff
Well besides the Cake Mix, Out of TP again and needed Eggs, Milk, Walnuts and Cake Mix and more Lottos
HAH! Back home to work my $20 of Lottos for a $30 Win, back to the Minit Mart for more
But first, I wanted some little Pillows for my Futon, something to prop up my back
So I headed over to KMart first, had some there almost what I wanted... Try Walmart then
I wandered around Walmart until I found some almost the same color as my Futon Mattress
And a couple Dollars less than those at Kmart, so I picked up three of those
Then a loser trip on the way back at Minit Mart, a real bust... Traded for $25 of Lottos Tickets and lost $25...
And that was about all the ativity for the Day except for more TV amd Dinner, another Burger and Fries
Off to another Saturday and now Pay Day in sight on Tuesday next.. I could use some of that about now
So I got my Computer stuff out of the way, had my Apple Juice and Coffee, posted my BLOG
And then started in on the Frame assembly, first the Back Frame, lots of Slats and Screws to attach
That done, then I started on the Seat Frame, a lot similar and that went faster
It said fasten the wooden end Caps... did that, then 'Check the Instructions for the End Assemblies'
Those Instruction were in the 'End Panels' Box and where was that? Oh Oh... In the bottom of the Dumpster
When I opened the Frame Box I saw the Instructions inside so I thought they were all but... not quite all
So I went out front, looked around the Dumpster, no way could I get down to where that Box was
Ok, let's figure this out, I looked at the Drawings on the Frame Instructions, Looked at the End Frames
Checked what Screws and Brackets were left.. AHA, I think I got it... Started in on that
And that assembly went smoothly to the final step, joining the ends to the Frame, fastened one end OK
Now to raise one end of the Frame, slip the Rollers in, then fasten the other end... Oops, need another Hand
So Tom was working upstairs, I trotted up and asked him for a couple minutes of his time...'Why Shore'
So I told him wnat I wanted to do, he held one End up while I fastened the other End to the Frame... WAH LAH!
But that wasn't quite 'IT"... I had to place that heavy Mattress on top and tried this and that and the other
And I couldn't handle that much weight... So I waited and watched until he came down the Stairs at Noon
I had been trying to drag that Mattress this way and that to get it up on the Frame... I wanted him to help on one end
We tried that, didn't work. then he just grabbed the whole thing and set in up on the Frame
How in the world could that little skinnny Guy be so Strong? No way I could ever do that!
Anyway that was it, all together and ready for my afternoon TV catch up session
And by that time I was pooped out and could really use that Margarita but had a $15 Lotto to trade
And I needed a couple Items at the Price Chopper, traded for my Lottos, then hit Produce
I needed Onions and Tomatoes and Taters, got those and around the Corner for Burger Buns and Triple Sec
Checked out and back home to work my Lottos for two $15 Wins... now that's better
Then the usual rest of the Day, Margarita, then Burger and Fries and more Wilted Lettuce... Lot of that
How many times now have I done that from that one Garden? And it keeps coming back
Well that is more than enough drivel for this Page, I'll catch up with that tomorrow... Hasta Manana!
And I checked the Gardens again, the Swiss Chard had grown some, I had to move the light up a little
Might have to snip a few more Leaves soon... And the Lettuce in Garden 7 looks ready to Harvest again
Just might have some 'Wilted Lettuce' again so I needed some Green Onions... Headed to the Price Chopper
Stopped at the Service Counter to banter with Rion and trade in my $15 Winner from Tuesday
Then Picked up my Green Onions.. HAH! On a nice Sale too... Just when I needed some
Back to my noisy Ranchito... What is he pounding on up there anyway? Worked my Lottos for NUTHIN! again
So on to the Day... waiting for the Dumpster and my new Futon, gonna dump my old Couch in there
Checked the Shipping on my Futon again online, says they are running late, be here a little after 3 p.m.
Later I checked again, they had moved the Delivery time ahead this time to 2:15 p.m.
So, Boss Bob, Tom the Maintenance Man, and the Painter were here early to start making noise upstairs
Sounded like they were tearing the place all apart, and that will just be a start, lot of renewing to be done
And the Dumpster was supposed to be here early they thought, had not arrived even by 1:30 p.m.
I was hoping it would be here before my new Futon Delivery arrived and so did Boss Bob
And finally just before 2 p.m. this Huge Box comes trundling down the Hill, they guided the Truck back in
Then they began tossing stuff in from the Deck above, saves hauling it down the Stairs... very handy
And then I dragged my Couch out the Front Door and they took over and dumped it in...
There it is, upside down in the front of that huge Dumpster... Bye Bye Old Couch...
And next... Right on time at 2:15 p.m. Down the Hill came the Nebraska Furniture Mart Truck
A cople nice gus came out to deliver my Futon, it was a 'Driveway Delivery'... Inside costs more
But I asked that they drop it as close to my Door as they could and they were glad to do so, even stuck the Mattress inside
Then as work continued upstairs I toted in the rest of my Boxes containing the Frame Parts
And then unpacked, I knew there would be 'some assembly required'... But I didn't expect to have to build the whole thing
So I mixed a Margarita, sat down to read through the assembly Instructions decided that would be my project for Thursday
Off to the rest of the afternoon and Evening, Dinner and TV and all, then off to dream about putting that thing together
Next BLOG... A Photo of the whole thing assembled and waiting for me
Checking the Email on Tuesday Morning... lookee there... A Company wants to use one of my Parkville Photos
And so, on the way back in yesterday I saw one Rhubarb Plant was trying to make an early Start
So... first thing when the Garden Lights came on, I saw the new Basil was touching the Grow Light
Dear Don, I am writing in regards to a photo of Downtown Parkville on your website
On behalf of National Life Group, I would like to request your permission to use this photo
in a website that we are putting together entitled Main Streets Across America
which will be published online in mid-April
~ Oh Lord it's Hard to be Humble... So I don't even try ~
We have a night in the upper twenties on the way, it might get frost bit... or does Rhubarb survive the cold?
Aha... looking out the front Window at 11 a.m. Tuesday now... HEY! Is that some SUN I see out there?
I just might get brave later and try to move some of that Soil after all
And the Grow Light is at it's highest setting and so... Let's clip the Top Leaves then
So I clipped an inch or two off the tops of the Plants, put the Leaves in the Oven to dry
I don't really need any more Basil at the Moment. I have more now than I can use in a Year...
And so, on the way back in yesterday I saw one Rhubarb Plant was trying to make an early Start
So... first thing when the Garden Lights came on, I saw the new Basil was touching the Grow Light
On to the Day, then looking good out there with some Sun but still a bit chilly
Boss Bob and Tom were making noise in the unit above me, moving stuff out the former Tenant left
He moved out owing a couple Month's Rent and left most all his old Furntiture there
Boss Bob says he has a big Dumpster coming today to fill with that old stuff, my old Couch goes in too
I have been thinking of replacing it, it is at least 35 Years old and I wanted one with thinner arms
So I checked online at Nebraska Furniture Mart, saw a Futon that looked like what I wanted
I ordered that and it is supposed to be delivered today, that will be my Afternoon project... assembling it
On to the late Afternoon then, didn't get brave enough to get out back, mixed a Margarita and 'What's for Dinner?
Ran up to the Price Chopper for a head of Napa Cabbage, wanted to make some different Cole Slaw
Then sliced up some of my recent BBQ Pork, on with some KC Masterpice Sauce, into the Oven with some Cheesy Cauliflower
Whupped up that Cole Slaw, assembled it all together with a Glass of Vino Tinto for a late Dinner
That Napa Cabbage a nice taste variation from my usual Cabbage Slaw... a nice end to another nice Day
So I set off to win my Fortune... Had $15 in my Pocket, didn't want to hit the ATM so I got three tickets
Back home to win even up at $15... so back again to get three more... this time won $25... Better
Well I can't settle for that so where then to trade for more? The Minit Mart I guess
And then at Minit Mart, Traded in that $20 and won back $15 again, what's all this $15 stuff anyway?
So it did warm up some and the Sun did come out and I headed up the Hill about 1 p.m.
Not I wanted to do, a couple Screws in the Tomato Trellis and then screw the end protector Screens on
So I just had to Drill 10 Holes, then Two Screws in the bottom of the Trellis, Four in each End Piece and done
Well, not quite... The back gate wasn't fitting quite right so I redid the Hooks that fastened it on, now done for the Day
Then.. Oh Oh, should have waited til I dumped in the Soil from the old Site above
The Trellis has Screening, so that would block dumping the Soil in from the back Side, the easy way
Now I will have to trundle the Cart out on the front Side to dump it in, a bit of a harder way... Oh Well
I climbed up to my hillside Bench to have a rest and take a Photo of my finished Garden Bed movement
After that I checked my Phone, a Voice Mail from Pat, 'Hey if you're Home I want to drop over this afternon'
So I called back after I got back in, Phone signal not too good back there... 'Why Shore... Come on over'
So I started on today's BLOG, maybe ten Minutes later a knock on the Door and she had Muffins for me!
Then I straten in the afternoon's Entertainment, first wanted to show her how I did my BLOG with HTML
After that a few more Computer procedures goodies, then back to the Living Room, a Dos Equis for her, glass of Rhine Wine for me
And then a pleasant afternoon of Chat, watching some old Nature Sanctuary Videos and my Garden progresses
We never seem to run out of something to talk about, but the time passed and she had to leave
Back to the Estate up on the Hill to take care of her Animal Family, Dog, Cat, Horse and visiting Mule
Was already 6 p.m. and time to think up something for Dinner later... Aha some Italian Sausage with Spsghetti and Sauce
Back to the TV with another Glass of Vino Tinto, another Movie, then Hotted up Dinner...
And wound up another Day of working Inside Outside and a nice Chat Session to boot!
So then some breakfast and worked a couple online Crosswords... Wanting to get out back again
First unwrapping that Pork and dusting it with BBQ Dry Rub, let it Marinate until around Noon
Started on the Garden Beds again out back, Back in at 1 p.m. and at 50 Degrees, in a Tee Shirt again
Put the Pork into the Smoker and then back up the hill, dragged down the back Gate to staple Screening on
Back up the Hill to place it on the Bed and then start on the Tomato Trellis, running back and forth for Tools
Back down once more for the Stapler and to chunk another hunk of Wood in the Smoker
And up the Hill again at 2 p.m, again the Day just Gorgeous and Temp up to 52, plenty comfy in that Tee and Sunshine
This time I got the top Two Feet sawed off the Trellis, the Netting stapled back across the Top
Then the hard part, wrangling that tall Trellis back inside the Bed Gates and screwing it down
I was sort of hung up and wrasslin' with it when a Neighbor yelled out the Window. Need help?
Yeah, I think I do, he came out, helped lower the Trellis into the Bed... WAH LAH!, then to fasten it down
Then back in for the Day, Temperature cooperated for the fourth Day in a Row, now all major Bed Move work done
All left to do and whenever the Mood arises is to haul the rest of the Soil down from the old Bed Site
And add a couple of Varmint guards on the ends of the Tomato bed, just a couple screws for that
Then, add some new Garden Soil whenever and wait for Planting time, another Garden Season on the way
It was about 3 p.m. then, mixed a Manhattan this time, rested up catching up with the TV, sort of worn out
Probably just old age catching up and that Rib Contusion pain that is left didn't help any either
So I was feeling better by 4 p.m. Time to go bring in the Smoked Pork from the Smoker, lookin good
Set that aside to rest until Dinner, Then more TV, a Movie, later a hunk of Smoked Pork
A slice of Cornbread and some BBQ Beans and a Glass of Vino Tinto, yeah that did it
Brought a delicious Finale to another productive and great Weather Day for late Winter, bring on that Spring!
And Sunny again and warming up fast, back out in just a Tee Shirt again for some more Garden Bed Rehab
Brought the big heavy Front Gate from the Tomato Bed back around front to work on
I had put some heavy Netting on the lower half of that Gate to deter the Varmints... a little too much there
So I snipped that heavy Wire Netting in half, plenty tall enough, will add it to the Back Gate on that Bed
Dragged that Gate back up the Hill, replaced the lower Angles that hold the bottom on
Now all I want to do on that one it to staple that heavy Netting on the Back Gate, finishes that
And also, cut two feet off the top of the Trellis for that Bed, then fasten it back on
If we get another nice Day I'll start on that, then all that's left to do is bring down the rest of the Soil up there...
Then back inside, popped the Cap off a bottle of Dos Equis, then to the TV and later see what looks good for Dinner
Oh yeah, a checkup on the Swiss Chard in Garden 4... That experiment with my own Seeds, not a complete success
I planted Six Seeds in new Pod Sponges I had ordered, only three Plants came up, I replanted those
A couple weeks later, still nothing in those Pods, so I gave up and planted Herb Pods instead
In the other three Chard Pods, the plants came up several days apart and are at three heights
As the largest Plant grew I raised the Light, and now the new Pods, if they sprout, will need that Light closer
So, not a large Harvest but I clipped the largest Leaves off the tallest Chard plant and lowered the Grow Light
Nowhere the quantity of Chard it takes to start on a serving... but, I'll keep snipping and freezing the largest Leaves
One good thing is that the smaller Leaves are more tender, expecially the Stems which are as tasty as the Leaves
Ok, now Sunday and what is the Weather gonna be? Well, colder this mornng at 35 Degrees but may go to 55, not too bad
And Sunny so it should be at 50 by Noon, may get some more Garden Bed rehab done, two jobs in mind
So off to another Sunday and we shall see... what we shall see, shall we not?
I worked an online Crossword, checked the Email and Bank, answered a comment on Facebook
Got sleepy again around 2:30 a.m. and headed back to Bed until 4 a.m. and then up and at 'em again
So what for Friday? Looked like another warm Day, may get to work on screening the other garden Bed End
That is after an early start on some Lottos... I had $7 of Show me Cash Wins and $25 profit from Boss Bob's Tickets
I sure would like to get that Big One I have been after for 20 Years, really don't know what I would do with it
Well Sigi says he wants a Ticket to come and visit Parkville, but that wouldn't be a lot of money
Off to the Price Chopper first to cash in that $106 in Wins for Thursday, bought $20 More for me
Back home to scratch off $15 in Wins, lost $5 so soon, took Boss Bob's $50 win to the Office
He wanted another Ticket so I took my $15 of Wins back to trade and got him that $30 BIG TICKET
He wanted me to work it for him.. But it lost this time after that $140 in Wins on tnat one Thursday... Oh well
I only got a $5 Win this time but also a $2 'EZ Match' on my 'Show Me Cash' Ticket for the Friday Night Drawing
When the Garden lights turned on Friday Morning I noticed a lot more little Tomatoes in Garden 6
I have been watching the Two first and much bigger ones for a week or more, now I count about 12 in there
A lot more Blooms on the Jalapenos too but no new Peppers yet that I can see
Then on to the warmer Afternoon, not quite as warm as Thursday but still Tee Shirt weather for sure
I had one more Tomato Bed End to replace the Screening on and started on that out front about Noon
Then took the Bed Ends around back to fasten them to the Bed Base, then replace the Top Supports
Next I want to replace the Chicken Wire with Plastic Screening on the Front and Back Gates of that Bed
And then, shorten the Tomato trellis by two Feet and install it back in that Bed
Then finish refilling it wih Soil and it will be ready in Spring for a BONAZA Tomato Crop!
Back inside then for a rest and a Margarita... Worked up a sweat out there...
On to the Rest of the Day and Evening, whupped up some Spaghetti and Sauce with Italian Sausage for Dinner
One more Glass of Vino Tinto and a Movie and then off to a better Night...
Finally got my running around done, getting warmer all the time, into a Tee Shirt Afternoon
I went out back to bring some Screening out front to work on the Tomato Bed Ends
I wanted to replace the Varmint torn Chicken Wire, I had brought the Ends out front on one of the early warm Fall Days
Then it turned Cold and I gave up on that until some warmer weather... and that was Thursday! And then some
So I started on that, was warm, so wearing a long Sleeve Shirt, Tom and Boss Bob started on trimming the Trees out front
Well, Boss Bob, Complex Owner/Manager got hooked on the new $30 Lotto Scratcher and had won some Good ones
But he had one that Morning that was a loser, he asked if I would get him another when I headed out
He offered to Split one with me, He would put in $15 and I would put in $15... Ok worth a try
So I picked up one at the Price Chopper Service Counter, I worked it for him and came up with a $40 Win, we each made $5
Well, he liked that but wanted another try, he said how about we each add $10 and cash that in and buy two more
I wasn't too sure but I took him up on the Deal and headed back to the Price Chopper, got one out of each of the two Machines there
Again he wanted me to work them, I started on the first one, five Numbers in and I got a $50 Win...
I yelled out the front Door about that, Hey a good start... another $50 Win! Back to the second Card then
And then I hit a $10 Win, then another $10 Win, then another $10 Win, then another $10 win and a final $10 Win
Hey Hey... Two $50 wins for $100 Total, he says hang on to them we'll try again later
Then about 3 p.m. and 74 Degrees and I ditched the long Sleeve Shirt, plenty warm in a Tee Shirt, love that weather!
Finished the Screening on one of the Bed Ends and time for a Margarita and some TV, that was enough outside work
On into the early evening, set out some Dinner, all ready to Nuke up but not feeling too good for some reason
That bruised Rib was hurting a bit, I took a couple Aspirin and headed for a Nap... Woke up a couple hours later
Ok then, to eat Dinner or give up and go to Bed, decided on bedtime and hit the Sack way too early
And, woke up this Morning (Friday) at 1 a.m. wide awake, and gave up to start my Day way too early...
A Cup of Coffee, checked my Lottos online, won Three small ones.. HAH! then on to my BLOG and away we go
Now to Post this one and get started on Friday's tale of woe... Or Good Fortune... Whatever
So what did I do on Wednesday? See what I can remember, getting hard to do lately...
Did head to the Price Chopped early, Rion was behind the Service Counter and glowing!
'I do LOVE that new Computer' He says... But now he wants to add 8 GB of RAM and a SSD
Well he could do that for about $400 and still has to pay me for the Computer
So then back home for Breakfast and a Win of $15... lost $5 already... the usual thing lately
So I took that $15 win back to the Minit Mart for $15 more Lottos, this time another $15 Win
Even up, going nowhere fast... Decided one more try at the Price Chopper, Rion gave me $15 more
Back home again to scratch off another $15 Win, right back where I was and gave up for the Day on that
And nothing much new to do, nothing needed to be cooked, lots of stuff already waiting
I did get back on Facebook to see a couple nice Comments from two nice Ladies
I added a Photo and posted a reply to them... Both replied with favorable Comments
One said I should start a Page on Facebook or the Internet about some of my Photos and Activities
And I replied... 'Well people... You did not know that I have a very comprehensive Web Site with about 60 years of Photos?'
Check out... www.donlsmith.net ...And they did and one kept sending back Comments on how good my stuff was!
Oh Lord it's hard to be Humble... So as you know... I don't even try... Anyway that kept me busy a little while
One saw a Post of my Wilted Lettuce... She said 'Oh I do love Wilted Lettuce with Cornbread'
And I replied 'Tonight the menu is Smoked Chicken Legs, Cheesy Cauliflower, Wilted Lettuce and Cornbread'
Then on to my usual afternoon, Margaritas lately and TV, and later I finished that nice Day with that Menu above
And so on to Thursday, another Week waning... And again no plans except to go trade in that $5 and $1 Win
To try for a bigger one... Come on Lotto... Light my Fire!
And then... Look at all that Lettuce in Garden 7 on Monday... And I thought that Bed was finished
That to be snipped later and I have the Green Onions, Ham and other stuff to make more Wilted Lettuce
So after checking with FedEx for Rion's Computer shipment, I headed to the Price Chopper for my Lottos
Hit the ATM for a couple Twenties, got my Lottos from the Machine, called for Rion at the Service Counter
Showed him the 'Feb 16, 2016 Delivery by end of Day' on my Phone, he is eager to get going on the new Box
And so back home to scratch off a welcome $25 Win, but never happy, I headed back to the Minit Mart to trade
Got $20 more, lost all, still have that $5 Profit though, but sure not happy with that
Back home then and into a slow afternoon waiting for Rion's Computer as anxious as if it was for me
I told him it would probably be here around 1 p.m. He messaged me at 1:10 p.m. ...'Any news yet?'
Replied... 'Nope, looking out the front Window, no big white Truck yet'
And then ten Minutes later about 1:20 p.m. here it comes down the Hill, guy brought a big Box to the Door
So then I called Rion, 'Get this dam big Box outta my living room', he said he would be off work about 1:45 p.m.
And was here just about then, came in all happy... Remarked I had a nice place, admired my Gardens
Then said he wanted to see my Computers, showed him into my Play Room... he says 'WOW! ...How Neat!'
Well I am impressed too, I do love my Tech Toys... Anyway he had to rush... Many thanks for the order
Then he lugged the Big Box to his Car and away he went, now I want to hear how he likes it today (Wednesday)
And on to finish up my Day, took out a Slice Of Meatloaf and a Potato Cake from the Freezer
Then clipped most all the good sized Leaves from the Lettuce Garden, made quite a pile, biggest one yet
Next, made up some Dressing for Wilted Lettuce again, Some Minced Ham, Olive Oil, Cider Vinegar and Sugar to simmer
Set that aside until Dinner Time... A Margarita and back to the TV... Later my Dinner into the Oven to heat up
Dinner Time... Put the Dressing on to bring to a boil, the Lettuce in a Bowl with chopped Green Onions
Ready for Dinner then, out of the Oven with my Plate, poured the hot Dressing on the Lettuce.. Wah Lah!
More of that Down Home Cooking like Mom used to make, back to the TV to enjoy the Dinner
Yeah, nice Day again, I was as happy as Rion was about his new Computer... I like to help out
And Wednesday again, halfway through the Working Week and I don't have to work... How Sweet it Is!
Sitting in the Living Room on Sunday, watching TV, sipping my Margarita and admiring my Gardens
Look at that Lettuce, could pick more again already, I snipped a good Harvest for Wilted Lettuce on Sunday, Feb 7th
And then there was enough on Monday the 8th for a Sandwich, and I thought that would be about the last of that Crop
Now on the 14th, looked like enough for another good serving of wilted Lettuce, keeps on growing
And then first thing Monday when I checked my Gardens I saw the Thai Basil in Garden 3 had almost reached the Grow Light
So I decided to clip the larger Basil Leaves, later I'll do the top Leaves to keep the Plants from reaching the Lights
So, then I snipped all the larger Leaves, I had some leftover frozen Pizza, I put some leaves on that
Then I put the rest of the Leaves in the Oven to dry and store with the earlier snippings
Thinking of doing some more 'Wilted' Lettuce I needed some Green Onions, back to the Price Chopper
Headed to Produce, saw the guy stacking Pineapples, I said Hola Gringo! and he said 99 Cents! HUH?
Well, last one on sale in January was $1.99, couldn't resist that price, so picked out a nice one
I picked out my Green Onions then headed back, then attacked that Pineapple, sliced off the Top
And dug out a hole in a Pot sitting in the Kitchen I took the Tomato plant from and stuck in the Pineapple
Now I have two Pineapple Plants to set out in Spring, they look kind of shabby til they get going good
And on with the Day, kept busy all day at this and that, decided to have that Pizza and do the Lettuce Tuesday
Mixed my Martgarita, took off my Shoes and settled back to catch up on the TV, had my Pizza and Vino Tinto then
And after getting up too early that Morning and having the Pizza too soon I got sleepy
So I gave up and hit the sack at 6 p.m. too early again, had a wakeful night and again, up too early at 3 a.m. Tuesday
Oh well, makes a real long day to have more fun... really? Off we go to Tuesday
So out to the Kitchen around Noon for one of my favorite activities... cook up something GOOD!
I had Four huge Ribs with a lot of FAT on them, my plan was to simmer some of that fat out of them
The saute some Onions and Jalapenos in that, along with the Rib Meat, started dicing the Rib Meat
Then a big Onion and then a large Jalapeno, not the little ones I just pickled
After that in with some Beans, stir it all up, add some BBQ Sauce then later see what Spices it would need
Oh Oh, would need some Cornbread to go with those BBQ Beans, back to the Price Chopper
Decided on the Easy stuff this time, got three Boxes of 'Jiffy' Corn Muffin Mix, on sale three for $1.00
So easy and good too, mixed that up with Egg and Milk and into the Oven.. then back to the Beans
And... They did need some Spice, I added Cumin, Basil, a little Chili Powder, some Garlic Salt
So, that did it, I just let the Beans simmer very slowly on Low for quite awhile
Then let them cool, some in a bowl for dinner three Boxes of Beans to store in the Freezer
Nothing much left to do on Sunday afternoon and Evening except for TV and Dinner as usual
More Episodes of 'Breaking Bad'...Watching the whole Series for the third time!
A bowl of tasty BBQ Beans, a hunk of Buttered Cornbread... Yeah, good some home Cooking to end a good Day
And then all this Stuff into the Freezer for whenever and off to Beddy bye we go!
