And then, that third Lettuce Harvest on Saturday, piled all that on my Ham Sandwich and it was GOOD!
Really getting some production out of that Lettuce Garden, three kinds of Lettuce in there
And then look at it again on Sunday Morning, not like much was picked at all
Lots of Lettuce for three nice Sandwiches... Maybe try some 'Wilted Lettuce for a change?
Takes a lot of Lettuce to make a nice serving of that though
And a catchup with the Jalapenos... I see a new Pepper most every Day and some getting some Size
Looks like this is going to be a productive Plant, not so sure about the Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes there
Into the quiet afternoon, but keeping at the Gardening now and then all day
And then got the Idea of a Meatloaf for Dinner, haven't done that for a long time
Back to the Price Chopper for a few Items then, needed Onions and a Green Pepper from Produce
Then some Washer Detergent, some Freezer Bags, then back by the Meat Counter for the Meatloaf Stuff
Got a Pound of Ground Pork and two Pounds of Ground Beef, I like to mix the Pork and Beef in Meatloaf
Then a half Gallon of Apple Juice and off to the Checker and back to Home...
Assembled that Meatloaf from a Pound of Pork and Beef, saved out a Pound of Beef for Burgers later
Added in Chopped Onion, Green Pepper, Ketchup, Cracker Crumbs, Eggs, Salt, Pepper and Garlic Salt
Sigi said I have to use chopped Garlic too but I didn't have any, that Garlic Salt with Parsley works good
Then into the Oven for an Hour or so, back to the until the Buzzer Beeped and Wah Lah! Meatloaf Supreme!
That was the Day again, kept busy all Day, finished up making Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans with Ham and Onion
A big hunk of that Meatloaf, a Glass of Vino Tinto, and another Day in Heaven completed...
~ HELLO FEBRUARY~ ~
Checking the Plants when the lights came on Saturday Morning, Lettuce already replaced the picking Friday
And one tiny little lonely Seedling popped up in the Swiss Chard Pod Experiment
Keeping a watch on... if and when... the Swiss Chard seedlings pop up in Garden 4
And so, checking my Order at Walmart online... Says 'Ready for Pickup'... So here I come
I was checking things out in the Living Room, still not quite satisfied with the Garden placement
That little Shelf in the Kitchen was getting a bit Crowded and so... How about another Shelf?
And I did have another Flourescent Grow Kight in the Closet, so off to Walmart to pick up new Grow Bulbs
I was using the Original CFL Grow Light that came with Garden 7 before the switch to LED
But it only had one CFL Grow Bulb in it, I wanted to add two more back in that Hood
I Picked up the Bulbs then went to the other end and picked out another Shelf like the Kitchen one
Then back home to move the Table where the Garden 7 was. assemble the Shelf, Put the LED Hood on it
Then put Garden 7 back on top and Plants from the Kitchen below, put the spare Grow Fixture on the tall Shelf
And bring in two more Pots from the Kitchen to set on the bottom Shelf... Now a look at the new set-up
So that took me until about 2 p.m. Had to do some rewiring on the Light Hood Cord, and hang the other Fixture
Took a break back on the Couch, catching up to the TV News and noticed the Birds out front
And it sure didn't take long for them to find the new Feed in the Gazebo, and really working on emptying it
And then after that busy Morning and early Afternoon, time to kick back and enjoy the rest of the Day
On to Dinner and I thought about a nice Ham Sandwich and Fries, some Lettuce on that please?
So for the third day in a row I harvested a bunch of Lettuce out of Garden 7 and even more this time
And this morning... (Sunday), you can't tell I picked that much at all
Anyway... off to finish up what has started to be a nice Weekend and nice Weather too
So what for Friday except to wait for Pay Day on Saturday? Well same old thing, play with the Gardens
And you couldn't tell that I had harvested Lettuce in Garden 7 on Thursday, looked the same as before Picking
So I picked a few more of the larger Leaves, maybe a bit more than I did on Thursday
And then I made another Sandwich, Whole Wheat Bread, Jalapeno, Baloney, Cheese, Lettuce and Spin Blend (Better than Mayo)
And a Tasty Concoction that was, maybe a tad better than the one on Thursday with more Lettuce... Yum!
And then, on into the Afternoon and warming nicely, at 62 Degrees at 2 p.m. and still rising
So, some outside work... I haven't been putting Seed in my Gazebo Bird Feeder for a couple Months
And seeing very few Birds out front since then... So... I dropped it down from the Tree
Brought it inside and cleaned it up some, then back out to rehang it and add some Bird Seed
Now the Birds will find it again very quickly, one finds it and I think it tells the others
OK... some Leftovers with a Glass of Vino Tinto and mre TV and then off to Bed... Adios Friday
Well, the Lettuce is doing pretty good now, picked some for a Sandwich Thursday
Lots more ready to be Harvested, doing much better in the Big 7 Pod Garden than in Garden 4
The Lettuce clipped and then on my Sandwich five Minutes later... Can't get any fresher than that!
And just poking around tryng to find something to do, I get bored so quick without a Project going
Checked my Windows Updates, Hey Hey... another Windows 10 Insider Build, really shoving them out lately
The Update on Dell Two was already downloaded so I set it to Restart and Install, then the others afterward
I noticed a slight Bug in th aast Build, hoping this one would fix it, nope, it popped up again
But it is just an Error Notice, doesn't seen to bother anything, so... now to see what this Build looks like
Just puttering around for the most part again, nice warm weather outside though... 52 Degrees... Nice!
So kicking back and enjoying my Margarita and looking over the Gardens in the Window
Saw the Mint I planted in Garden 7 was getting stringy, the large Tomato plants shading it
Well, they said to only plant Two of the large Tomato Plants there but I thought I cold add another
And it started good and I picked a few large Mint Leaves but now it was going nowhere
So I snipped the entire Plant, snipped off all the Leaves and into the Freezer with the first Snippings
That was about all the Drivel for Thursday, what about Friday coming up? Income Tax Refund due then
And that would make me Happy for a couple Days.. and then Saturday... Pay Day is here again
So I brought in two Pots from outside with frozen Soil inside, thawed that and dumped it out
Then carefully lifted out the Tomato Plants... Held the Roots steady while I put new Soil around them
Next cleaned out the Garden Tank, and ready to try the Swiss Chard when I picked up the Grow Sponges
And when I was transplanting the Tomato Plants I saw I had made a mistake, not the only one I've done
When the Tomaro plants first emerge you are supposed to leave only one Plant in each Pod, I missed one
That's why the Plants got so crowded on one side of the Garden... And I see now I made a boo boo on another Garden
Before the bigger Tomato plants get too tall, you are supposed to Prune a certain way, I overlooked that too
And so... I printed out a copy of my Order that said 'Ready for Pickup' and headed to Walmart abound 11 a.m.
Then walked about a half mile back to the Store Package Pickup to get it, headed back to Parkville
Back around Noon and 48 Degrees (nice), to start on my Replanting of AeroGarden 4
Unwrapped my Sponges, stuck a Swiss Chard Seed into Six of them, then the Sponges into the Grow Pods
The filled the Tank with Water and Nutrient, the Top back on and stuck the Pods in and WAH LAH!
Set the Garden back on the top Shelf, plugged it in... Now the new Crop on the way!
And that was about enough of that for the Day, seems every Day is Garden Day now
I did notice that a couple of teeny tiny Jalapeņos were peeking out behind the Blossoms in Garden 5
And I did trim some of the Branches on that Plant that were spreading out a bit too far
Then on into that warm Afternoon, reached 51 Degrees they said, on to my Margarita and TV Routine
Dug out some leftovers later to wind up the Evening and then off to dream of a big Winner on Thursday
I also have some new empty 'Grow Sponges' coming to Walmart Store Pickup on Thursday
I am keeping an eye on my Garden 4 with the Mini Tomatoes, when they time out I will replace them with Swiss Chard
Aerogarden does not have Chard Pods so I will plant Seeds I found here in the Sponges on the way
I have several empty Grow Pods here I can slip the Sponges in and then plant the Chard Seeds
Then off to seek my Fortune and a Gallon Of Vino Tinto and picked up the Mail on the Way Back
And my new Seeds were there and also a Form W2G from the Missouri Lotto for my $1,000 Scratch win
So I'll have to redo my return to see if I owe any more Tax money on that... DRAT!
Anyway I have my Seeds and Gardens to keep me somewhat Happy, not that winning the 'Big One' won't
So, then scratched off $15 in Wins, that won't do, so back for $15 more Tickets and won $25
And again, not knowing to quit when I am ahead, back for $25 more and lost it all, loss for the Day $20
Some more Garden Tending, adding Water and Nutrient, and the new Basil grew enough to take off the Domes
The best Crops so far in those small gardens were Basil and Dill, just a bit small for Tomatoes
The Plants in the larger and brighter Gardens do so much better, but I didn't know that earlier
And on to my Margarita and Snack Time, tested out those Mini Toms in the Jalapeno Jar
And a pleasant surprize, quite tasty, Tangy and Picante from that Jalapeno Brine, the little unripe ones did well
That really was all of the Day, hotted up some Pasta and Chili for Dinner, I have done better
But anyway, off to another cool start but a warmer day and a warmer weekend coming
Sure having a lot more fun with all the Aerogardens this winter, a lot more than the Pots and Planters last year
I harvested a few Greens from the Pots and Planters but having a lot more luck with the Aerogardens
They still don't produce a lot but at least a bit more and a lot more fun doing it
So, the lights on all the Gardens came on at 5 a.m. Monday after the reset on Sunday, I like that timing better
Expecially the lights now going off around 9 p.m. instead of 12:30 a.m. or so
And, been keeping an eye on those ripening Mini Toms in Garden 4, decided to harvest them Monday
Three of them a bit larger than the ones I got from Garden Number 3 earlier, and some bigger Green ones yet
So what to do with those monsters? All Five together would just make One Bite!
So, I hadn't been to the Coffee Shop for a couple weeks and I had those five ripe Mini Tomatoes
So I put them a cute little gift Sack and took them down for Lewis Jonas, he seemed pleased to see me
And accepted the Tomatoes and I sat down to Chat some, show some Garden Photos, Dean Jernigan was there also
Then the Meeting broke up around 9 a.m. and I headed to the Minit Mart, got my Lottos
Back home and worked my Lottos for a $10 Win, lost $10, oh well, Pay Day is Saturday
And then, another slow afternoon but the weather warmed up some, I decided to head to Walmart
They didn't have what I wanted, but I found it back home so I did a bit more indoor Gardening
I thought when the 'Mighty Mini' Cherry Tomatoes faded away I would replant with Swiss Chard
Aerogarden does not have any Chard Pods so I ordered some empty 'Grow Sponges', I have some empty Pods now
And I need Seed for those so I checked at Walmart for some, they don't have any this time of year
So when I got back I found a packet of Swiss Chard Seed here and decided to plant some in a Pot
It will be some time before I have an AeroGarden to plant the Pods so I'll get a head start with the Pots maybe
And, taking a look at my Garden 6, the Mint I planted was being over shadowed by the 'Mega Cherry' Tomato plants
The Instructions said to only plant TWO Pods in that 7 Pod Garden but I thought I could slip in a Mint Plant
An the Mint did nicely until the large Tomato plants began to shade them so I picked the two largest stems
What do you do with Mint anyway? Make a Mint Julep? I clipped the Leaves and put them in the Freezer for later
So that was pretty much it for Monday, finished out the Day with TWO Margaritas and a nice Pork Chop for Dinner
Now off to finish the rest of this Pre-PayDay Week
OK, a little warmer Day and going to get better, 34 Degrees at 11 a.m. and going to 47, very nice, Sunny too
I had another piece of My Pineapple Pie then set off for the Price Chopper amd Walgreens
Got my Apple Juice and Lottos at the Price Chopper and then next door to get my stuff at Walgreens
Back home to scratch off $50 in wins, now that's the way to start the Day, had no wins for two days
So I got a couple more photos of the Plants here and over there... And back there...
I see the first tiny Tomato (above) in Garden 5, still looking for a Jalapeņo in there, lots of blooms
And the Plants in the Kitchen have a little more room after moving Garden 4 to the Living Room
And yeah, looks like I trimmed dead leaves from the Pinaeapple in there too
So, how is the delayed Lettuce Crop in the newest Garden 7 after the new Base and Grow Light installation?
It does look like that Lettuce will survive nicely afer the lights out episode without replanting
A replacement Lettuce Seed Pod Kit is on the Way, now no place to plant those right away
That was about all the Garden tending for Sunday so on to another routine Afternoon...
But catching up on the TV News with my Margarita... looked to me like the Light on Garden 7 was tilted
They all have a slight tilt to the front but this one was more than the others, so up and at 'em again
I shut off the Power and unplugged the Litgh Hood, then lifted the Tank out of the Base
And that thing has over a Gallon of Water in it and it is HEAVY! but I wiggled it out
Then tooked the Light Arm out of the Base, inserted it with a little extra pressue into the Light Hood
I got it pushed farther into the Hood Socket, then put the lower end into the Base, put the Tank back
Plugged everything back in, turmed on the Power, reset the Clock and then everyone lived happily ever after
Then that was all of the Day, made an 'Arroz con Pavo' Burrito for dinner and off to sleep til Monday
As I said, changing every Day around here, this is the Way the Living Room Plants looked a Week ago
And now this Saturday Morning... and what is the next move?... Well we shall see, shall we not
If I decide to buy that AeroGarden 9 Pod 'Bounty' where will it go? I have an idea already...
So, Morning puttering around slowed down, I went out to see if the Blazer would start
After the Manager's Charging it started right up and I let it warm up a little
Then I headed over to the Mnit Mart for Gas, filled up and got my Lottos and NO WINNERS!
Back home to wait for my Mechanic Friend, he showed up, checked the data on the Battery
Then called the Dealer, covered by Warranty, so he took the Battery out and headed out to get a new one
Back to the Gardens again, took a peek at the Lettuce Garden, planted a Lettuce Pod there that never came up
So when I started the Garden with the new Light, January 14, I put a Chives Pod there, finally looks like it might pop
I had planted another Chives Pod before and it didn't come up at all, hope this one does
And the Mechanic was back around Noon with a new Battery, Stuck it in my Blazer and headed for Home
How about that doorstep Service, new Battery installed and at no charge!
And so I headed to the Price Chopper, needed Milk and bought more Lottos, won NOTHING!
Then the rest of the day was the usual, but later with a slight twist, well more than slight
I mixed my Margarita, prepped my Dinner, caught up with the TV News (or lack thereof)
And was sitting watching TV and enjoying my Gardens in the Living Room and thought... it could be better
That big Garden 7 was way up on top and hard to service, be better to have it low with the other 7 Pods
So I took Garden 4 off the end Table, set it on the Floor, then got my little Ladder
Climbed up so I could take the Plants out of Garden 7, dipped out all the Water, then down to the end Table
Poured the Water back in, set the plant tray back on top... Wah Lah! Next Garden 4 up on the top Shelf
Then into the Kitchen for Garden 3 and it went on the top Shelf too, now that looks better...(to me)
Now all the AeroGardens are in the front of the Living Room and only the potted Plants in the Kitchen
Now how long will they stay that way? Don't bet on it, nothing stays the same here for long
And that was it for the rest of the Day except for some more of that Delish Ham from the MO Lottery
Best Ham I have done for awhile... Yeah.. Now Sunday, off to another Fine Day!
So I muted the Sound on the TV and asked Google on my Phone for AeroGarden Customer Service
And the AeroGarden Site popped up and I got the Phone Number, then called
And I got another very nice person to talk to there and posed my Question, and she said it was OK
Some of the Peat Sponges in the Pods dry out after time and shrink, but the plants will reach up through the Gap
So that question was answered, but we kept chatting about my Garden successes
I told her that I posted my BLOG with a lot of AeroGarden Comments on Facebook
She asked for the BLOG Link and said she would check it out... They have Great Customer Service!
And I have a lot of fun playing around with all my Gardens, something for these drab Winter Days
So, finished and posted Thursday's BLOG, poured another Cup and worked my Crosswords online
Then completed my Morning Routine and then off to where in that Cold For my Lottos?
Well I didn't head out in the Cold for anything... I am still thinking of buying that new 9 Pod AeroGarden
But where to put it? I am filling up every corner in here now, even the Kitchen
So I did some more rearranging, this Garden stuff is continually changing what and where
Every time I got a new One, I moved the older ones around to accomodate it, I just made more changes Thursday
But this one was a more elaborate change around... and took most all Morning and into the Afternoon
I took all the Gardens off the short Shelf in the Living Room, then the plants off the tall Shelf in the Kitchen
Then I moved the tall Shelf to the Living Room, the short Shelf to the Kitchen, had to reposition the Shelf heights
Next, I put the three 7 Pod Beds in the tall Shelf, has to enpty the water Tank to lift One to the Highest Shelf
And put the Six Pod bed on the Table next to the tall Shelf... Finito for the Living Room
Than to the Kitchen, Put some Pots on the lower Shelf and the rest on the top one and that was it for this attempt
OK, then time to head out for my Lottos at 2 p.m. Tried to start the Blazer... and arummm arummm arummm, click click click
Well the Battery has been balky the last several days in this Cold, but the Battery is only two years old
So no start and no Lottos, well save that $20 for Saturday, I called Boss Bob, Manager and Owner
I said I heard that you had a Battery Charger.. Sure do, whatsamatta?... Car wont start.. You have a Cord?
Why shore, be right down he says, he was next door, brought over the Charger from the Work Shop across the street
He hooked it up himself, I plugged it in... WAH LAH! See what kind of Service we get at this complex!
Well, that was that, no Lottos, I'll do that on Saturday, and off to another real nice Dinner and my TV Catchup
So, off in that feathery Snow to the Price Chopper for Emergency Supplies, I just ran out of TP!
I picked that up and headed to the Service Counter for some more Lottos
Back home to pour a second Cup of Coffee and work off $30 in Wins, well made $10 anyway
And so, what to do all Day on Thursday? I about exhausted all the Garden work that needed to be done
Well, I could Water the Plants in the Kitchen, they looked bit on the dry side
But then, before that I noticed a box of Pineapple chunks in the Fridge, how about that?
I peeled and chunked a fresh Pineapple, planted the Top, put the Pineapple in the Fridge
And then forgot all about it, so how about baking a Pie? A Pineapple/Apple Pie...
But I needed some Apples and Pie Crust so back to the Price Chopper for that
And Granny Smith Apples on Sale too, they are supposed to be great for Pie
Back at the Ranchito, I peeled and chunked up the Apples, cut the Pineapple into smaller Chunks
Put that into a pot, added Sugar, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Corn Starch slurry, simmered than a little
Then into the Crust and into the Oven for an Hour and then let's see how that comes out
And it looked like it came out great and just waiting for a Taste Test and it has to be good!
Then a call from Pat, a few of her Seed Pods in her Aerogardens didn't make it, I told her I had more
So she dropped over around 1:30 p.m. to see what I had and I had plenty I didn't need
And she selected the Pods she wanted and then we had a nice chat, checking things out on the TV
My Laptop and Smart Phone on the TV, Tech Play Time again, I showed her my new Garden Video, looks better on my TV
Then she had to get back up the Hill to Home and I finished out the rest of the Afternoon
Back to the Computer... What's this? Another Windows 10 Insider Update, I just got Build 11099 on January 17th
Must have been something wrong with that last one, I only noticed one very small thing, maybe they fixed that
So I got the Desktops started on downloading and installing Build 11102, one at a time
Finished those on Thursday, got the Laptop working on that one Friday Morning
And then Thursday Afternoon, mixed a Margarita, got some Ribs out of the Freezer, put a Tater in the Oven
Watched some 'Bates Motel' Then plated up my Ribs, Baked Tater, dished up some Coleslaw
Back to the TV to finish up the Day with another Episode of 'Breaking Bad'
Now waiting for my Tax Refund, maybe next Week, I could use it about now, those December and January Bills
But things should be back to normal and I might even win a Big One in February, we have an extra Day ya know
So, nothing much else going on, so more about the Gardens, what did I do last Winter without them?
Well back then I was planting Pots and Planters with soil inside and with very little result
It was a lot cheaper to do it that way though... So another look at the 'Disaster' Lettuce
They have new Lettuce Pods on the way now but the Lettuce seems to be recovering with that new Light
And back for a peek at the Garden 5 Jalapeno Plant, those little 'bumps' I thought were Jalapenos were actually Buds
So it looks like I might get quite a few Peppers if those Flowers do produce, fun to look at anyway
And then what? well a Boring Afternoon so why not make a Boring Video, haven't used that Camera for awhile
Started in the Kitchen with Garden Number 3, then the Living Room for Gardens 4, 5, 6 and 7
Just a short Video, didn't take long, uploaded to Vimeo and was watching it on my TV 20 Minutes later
And then the conclusion of the Afternoon and Evening as usual, and actually quite pleasant with TWO Margaritas!
And finishing off the Day with a Bowl of Chili with Elbow-Roni Pasta... And a Glass of Vino Tinto... Yeah!
And I got my Daily Dose of Lottos and headed back home for another Cup of Coffee and Breakfast
And again for the third Day I scratched off nothing, in a real slump the last few Days
After Breakfast of some of the Prize Ham, some homemade Bread and Butter pickles, back to the Gardens
Decided to harvest the rest of those Mini Toms and get something else started in that Garden
Took the Tomato Plants out of the Garden, Harvested the Tomatoes, dumped and rinsed the Water Tank
Refilled the Tank, added Nutrient, planted three Thai Basil Pods, now see how those do
I decided to just leave that Garden on the Kitchen Table for now, give the plants on the Shelf more room
Then on into another long... with nothing to do... Afternoon, and still COLD out there
Then I was checking my Email again, Turbo Tax was all excited, telling me the IRS had accepted my return
And I could expect the Refund in the Bank soon... Well I did get the refund quick last year
So to celebrate I headed back to the Price Chopper for more Lottos, this time I won $25... WOW!
So then the rest of the Day, Cocktail, Dinner, TV, same old rut, but l kind of the way I like it
And now another 20 Degree start on Wednesday, got a little more light Snow Tuesday afternoon
Less than an Inch, nothing to worry about, now I'll have to try to increase that $25 Lotto win first thing
And bye the bye, received one more 'Insider' Windows 10 update on Sunday, they keep testing things on us
But it is kind of interesting to be in on the latest releases, I have had few troubles with them
I got the Updates started on the three Desktops and then the Laptop which I don't use much
And a Catchup on the Aerogardens, Garden 5 doing best with the Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes and Jalapenos, now Blooming
Nex Garden 6 catching up with Mega Cherry Tomatoes now beginng to show Buds and a single Mint Plant
Then the newly reactivated Garden 7, the Lettuce not doing so good after the light failure, new Pods on the way<
How about the other Two Gardens, can't forget them, Garden 3 in the Kitchen about finished with the current Crop
So far 10 Ripe Cherry Toms eaten, 10 Green ones pickled in the Relish Jar after the Plant fell over
Now maybe 10 or so getting ripe there, I'll harvest those in a Day or Two then start another Crop, what next?
So what else on Monday, not much, hotted up some more of those Oven BBQ Ribs with some French Fries and Cole Slaw
Finished out my TV Evening and hit the Sack real early, now Tuesday and a bit of a warmer Morning
Thinking about running over to get my Driver's License renewed and then on to the rest of another Cold Day
I heard the Snow Plow at 7:45, went to the Door for a Photo, the Cat was there asking for Breakfast
So got my Photo, fed the Cat, finished and posted my Saturday BLOG and on with the Morning
Just poking around on Sunday Morning, no hurry to get out in that COLD, 2 Degrees at 6 a.m. 6 degrees at 10 a.m.
Bright sun but not doing much to raise the Temp, a couple Guys out there shoveling and blowing Snow around
But nice and warm in here with the Winter Gardens, took a close look at Garden 5, Tomato and Jalapeno plants
Blooms now on the Heirloom Cherry Tomato Plants and lots of tiny Jalapenos now setting on that Plant
Then time to hunt up some breakfast, what will it be, so much good stuff in the Fridge, Freezer and on the Table
OK, another Hunk of that Birthday Cake, still have a lot of that and still good
Then into the Shower to finish up my Morning Routine and get ready to go forth and attack that Weather
And so, off to the Price Chopper at Noon at 5 Degrees, Temp dropping, stopped to buy my Lottos, then to the Liquor Department
Picked up a Gallon of Vino Tinto and a 1.75 Liter of Triple Sec, then a jar of Cherries for my Cocktails
Passing the Meat Counter I saw Spare Ribs on Sale, checked that, a nice big Slab for $9.50, good deal!
Back home then, the Temp way up to 8 Degrees, can't Smoke outdoors in Weather like that, what about those Ribs?
Well I do have an Oven, let's improvise, got some tips online about Oven BBQ Ribs... I can do that
And I kind of prepped them like I do Ribs for the Smoker outside, but I brushed on a little Liquid Smoke first
Then dusted with my Dry BBQ Rub, and into the Oven to start 'Smoking'... Soon beginning to smell like BBQ inside
And then, time for a slightly early Margarita and TV Catchup all over again, that same old afternoon rut
The time passed and life grew sweeter... and the Margarita went down and a Manhattan was ordered
And the aroma of roasting Pig filled the Air and it did smell as if Smoke was being used
At last, time to take the Ribs out of the oven for a Photo and then warm up the Beans and toast the Toast
And then... A hunk of that Pig sliced off the narrow end, a pile of Beans on the plate and time to sample
The verdict? Very tasty, and yes, tasted like BBQ... but... Nope, did not equal what I usually do outside
BBQ Means slow smoked over Hickory or other fruitwood and done out int he Smoker, let the neighbors get some of that perfume
But overall for January in 8 Degree weather, yeah that will do just fine, thank you so very much
Checking out my Email... Bank and Facebook and then saw Facebook posted a Photo I took a year ago
Showed my Orange Tree experiment when I first repotted it in January, so here it is, then and now
Two of the three Orange Plants survived but one is twice as tall as the Other, so what's it need?
Maybe some of that AeroGarden Nutrient I use in Gardens or maybe some Miracle-Gro Solution?
I had some of that stuff already mixed so I added some to the Pots... Now see if that helps?
And then what? Checking out the Mini Toms in Garden 3, plants kind of fell over, weak Stems, Toms to heavy?
Anyway needed to try to fix tht and lost half the Plants doing it, some Stems just fell off
So I lost the Venter Plant entirly, propped up the other two, harvest the green Toms pn the fallen Stems
So, they a total loss?, well wait a couple days, if they don't ripen, I'll add them to my Homade Relish
And then out to seek my Fortune, and didn't find it, no wins at all, back for a late Breakfast
I decided to use the little Red Tomatoes in a Denver Omelet, I had the Ham, Green Pepper, Onion and Eggs
And that turned out delicious, those little Tomatoes adding a bright dash of taste, almost spicy
And then what to do with those little green Tomatoes, so tiny, still didn't want to waste them
So I split them and dumped then into my Jar of homade Relish I made earlier, add a touch of brightness in there too
That was pretty much all for Saturday... Then Manhattan, Snacks, TV and Dinner, stuff to warm over
Yeah that was a pretty good cold Winter Day after all, now Sunday... Starting on a COLDER and Snowy Day!
And then off on the Lotto Chase again... Not doing so great the last few days
Started off with my $20 Worth, won back only $10, so off again to trade and won $10 back again
I traded that $10 in again Three more times only winning $10 back each time, so still have one $10
So I won $10 Five times but for the Day, a loss of $10... could be worse
Not much the rest of the Day, working on some of those leftovers for Dinner
Real Tasty stuff, and I have enough in the Fridge and Freezer for a Month or more, looks like
Long afternoon, had a Margarita then ran out of Triple Sec, laer mixed a Manhattan to finish the Day
Warpped up with Dinner, had some of that Lotto Prize Ham I smoked, and that stuff is good and I have lots left
Off to the Weekend now, might have to run to Walmart, and of course get a few more Scrath Tickets... Off we go again
Then... Morning Routine all done, headed South and West at 10 a.m. for the Doctor's Office up in the winding Hills
That place is almost impossible to get to from here, got lost twice, second time not as bad
So my Appointment was for 10:25 a.m. and I got there about 10:15, three people plus me in the Waiting Room
All got called beforw I did but I was in no real hurry, dreaded any pain from the Suture removal... I am a sissy
Finally my turn, I had already loosened my 'Band-Aid' so it wouldn't hurt when she pulled it off
So she asked how I was.. I says SCARED! Now bw, it loks good... Not infected like I thought it might be
She started in carefully, first one out.. no pain, second, something else, like an ice pick stuck in it
But the next few went well, but a couple more times it was a real jolt, finally the last one out
Then the Doctor came in, took a look, says looks fine, wait a couple weeks, if not straight call for Therapy
Well I hope it doesn't come to that, he told me to work on it, be gentle and it may be OK wihout more treatment
So on with another Band-Aid and back to Parkville, back about an Hour later to work my Lottos
And again, no Winners at all, and I am running out of Money early again... Oh Woe!
So on to the afternoon, thought I would check the Mail, that new Power Base and LED Hood coming
So I trotted up the Hill to take a look, yep the Package Box Key was there, got my Package
