Then... Morning Routine all done, headed South and West at 10 a.m. for the Doctor's Office up in the winding Hills
That place is almost impossible to get to from here, got lost twice, second time not as bad
So my Appointment was for 10:25 a.m. and I got there about 10:15, three people plus me in the Waiting Room
All got called beforw I did but I was in no real hurry, dreaded any pain from the Suture removal... I am a sissy
Finally my turn, I had already loosened my 'Band-Aid' so it wouldn't hurt when she pulled it off
So she asked how I was.. I says SCARED! Now bw, it loks good... Not infected like I thought it might be
She started in carefully, first one out.. no pain, second, something else, like an ice pick stuck in it
But the next few went well, but a couple more times it was a real jolt, finally the last one out
Then the Doctor came in, took a look, says looks fine, wait a couple weeks, if not straight call for Therapy
Well I hope it doesn't come to that, he told me to work on it, be gentle and it may be OK wihout more treatment
So on with another Band-Aid and back to Parkville, back about an Hour later to work my Lottos
And again, no Winners at all, and I am running out of Money early again... Oh Woe!
So on to the afternoon, thought I would check the Mail, that new Power Base and LED Hood coming
So I trotted up the Hill to take a look, yep the Package Box Key was there, got my Package
And back down the Hill, unpacked my Box, moved the Water Tank to the New Base, added the Light Hood
Plugged it in, did the Setup Routine and WAH LAH!... Back in business and with a new LED Hood instead of the CFL
Now will that Lettuce Crop survive and prosper after a week with no Aerator?
Susan said they would replace the Lettuce Pods if they didn't survive the disaster
Then a Manhattan and on with the Afternoon and TV and 'What's for Dinner?'
So that's enough Chatter for Thursday, I'll post this much and get started on Friday
So, my Morning Routine starts around 5 a.m. First turn on the Computers, then put the Phone on the Charger
Start the Coffee Maker, pour my Apple Juice, Check my Banks and Facebook and Mail on Dell Number One
Then pour my Coffee and start on my BLOG on Dell Number Two, also sometimes a Comment from Sigi on Dell One
I do most all my Internet Browsing, Banking, Chatting and Buying on Number One and my Photos, Videos and Writing on Number Two
They are almost Identical and have the same Programs, I just like to do different things on each
And I still have my old faithful HP Desktop Sitting over there Idle just in Case, same specs on that one also
I did manage to make it through the Day on Tuesday but it was Cold and Boring, some Sun peeking out later
I managed to lose another $25 on Lottos, I'll make that up when I win the Powerball Wednesday Night
And good news first thing in Email, My new Garden Power Base is in KC, probably get it on Thursday
Not really good news for Thursday Morning, have to go see the Doc to take the Stitches out of my Finger
But as the Song says..."This too shall pass and life grow Sweeter"...
Peeked outside to check the weather, the fat Cat was there giving me a Meow Morning
He didn't show up last night for Dinner so I fed him some Chicken scraps
And then I headed up the Hill in the Cold for the Price Chopper, got some Lottos from Rion
Back home to work a $5 and $20 Win, a $5 Profit, time to go get some Gas and more Lottos
But first, a piece of Pumpkin Bread or Birthday Cake? Decisions, decisions...
So I decided on Birthday Cake, they are both very tasty, then I headed for the Minit Mart
I pumped my Gas and baby it was cold outside... then in for my Lottos, traded for $20
Back to scratch off a $15 win so even up for the Day, lost my $5 Profit, darn....
And so... That wasn't enough so I went back to trade in my $15 win at the Minit Mart again
Back Home to scratch off $30 in Wins, ahead yet? Back to the Price Chopper once more
Traded for more, only to scratch off $10 the last time, time to quit, $80 in wins but lost $15 for the Day
Then a look at the Mega Cherry Tomato Plants in Garden 6 and the Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes in Garden 5
The Tomatoes and Jalapenos in Garden 5 were Blooming at 42 Days after Planting
I have to raise those Light Hoods about every two Days or so, they grow fast under those LED lights
That was about all the non-action for Wednesday, now Wednesday my new Garden Parts are on the Way
But before that I am on the Way to the Doctor's office to get the Sutures out of my Finger
That is usually not a painful procedure but I'm not so sure about the Finger, still sore from the Operation
And that waa 17 Days ago... But it has to be done, so I guess I'll have to go, that will be about 10 a.m.
One not so bright Light I did win on the Powerball Wednesday Drawing... all of $8... Whoopie, Party Time!
And off to the New Day we go... Charge!!!
I checked out the blown Power Base, saw a blown Fuse in the Power Supply, then checked the CFL Bulbs
I wired and tested them direct with a Cord, they were all not working, somehow they all were burned out
But I still had that workintg CFL I replaced in Garden 3, wired that direct and got the Hood working
Only One Bulb instead of Three but maybe it will help the Lettuce keep going until the Parts get here
And so, out on another Sunny but Chilly Morning at 20 Degrees, needed an item at the Price Chopper
And traded in $8 of Winners and a $20 Bill for four more Tickets and two Power Balls for Wednesday
I don't usually buy the Draw Tickets but would be nice to Brag about if I hit the Biggest One ever
So, back home to scratch off exactly NOTHING again... Not doing so great again this Month
I started off great with that $100 win on January 1st and another $205 after that, so $305 so far
But I don't keep exact count of what I spend ($20 a Day plus trading in Winners) so I am probably not ahead
And into another long Cold Day with no plans and bored at 10:30 a,m. even with all my Tech Toys
So bored I went back to buy another $30 worth if Lottos and won back $25... catching up a little?
Well yeah, but bought another $10 worth and won nothing, still $15 of the last win in my Pocket
That was about it for the Morning, mixed my Margarita and set out Ham and Bean Soup and Cornbread for Dinner
Did Laundry, ran the Dishwasher... Won $24... Such an interesting Day it was... (NOT)
Then time to finish my Morning Routine and head out for Lottos, where to? ...Price Chopper
OK, Price Chopper it was and the only Birthday Gift from the Missouri was a $1 Ticket
I took their $1 Coupon, added another $1 and bought a EZ Match 'Show Me Cash' and won $3
And that was the EZ Match part, still could more win on it in the Tuesday Drawing
Got a call back from Tyler while I was at the Price Chopper, wanted some numbers
They were at Home so I called when I got back, gave him what he wanted
So the recap, they will send me another new Power Base, and replace the CFL Grow Light with an LED
I have to pay extra to get the LED instead of another CFL Grow Light but I wanted that in the first place
And so, I took the Water Tank and Plants off the Kitchen Shelf, put the Plants back the way they were
Since I don't have to send the CFL Grow light back I adapted it to work temporarily with that Defunct Power Base
I took out the Power Mechanism, wired the Grow Light direct, put in the good spare CFL I replaced in the small Garden
Put the dead Power Base back in the Living Room, set the Tank on it and plugged it it
Now only one CFL Light in that Light Hood but it might keep the Plants happy til the new Light and Base get here
And that took me into the Afternoon and Cocktail Hour and TV, and what's for Dinner?
One more peek at the Aero5 Tomato/Jalapeno Garden, Tomatoes have been Blooming, now the Jalapenos started
And I had to raise the Grow light again, those Plants are getting tall!.. On to the TV and rest of my Happy Birthday
And that was it... More Birthday Greetings from Facebook that I ever had over the Years
It is just my advanced Years or my truly appealing Personality... Don't let Sigi answer that!
Off to one more Day we go, to live Happily ever After
And so, I got my Birthday Cake baked on Saturday, need to decorate it on Sunday for Monday
I can't put 84 Candles on it, the first would burn down before I got the last one lit
I'll figure something out and have it all ready for my 84th Year starting on Monday
So I started out with Frosting my Cake, all ready for a Photo for Tomorrow.... Yeah!
Then I thought I would peel and chunk my PIneapple and then plant the Top like I have done
So I went out front in the 7 Degree Temp at 9 a.m. and brought in my Potting Soil, kind of frozen
I set it in the Kitchen to Thaw a bit and headed for the Price Copper, got my $20 worth of Lottos
And got back Home to scratch off two $5 Wins and a nicer $25 one, good start for my Cumpleanos Eve
Then another piece of my Pumpkin Bread for a late Breakfast and then started on the Pineapple
I filled a Pot with Potting Soil, then cut the Top off the Pineapple and set it in the Pot
Next, peeled and sectioned the Pineapple and put it a container and then into the Fridge
That double Project didn't take long... So off to the Minit Mart to trade some Lottos
So I traded in $35 worth of Lotto Wins and bought $20 more, Oh well, just a $10 Win on those, but a $5 Profit anyway
And so, started on the Afternoon and Dinner, decided to do that Broccoli I bought a couple Days ago
Started that simering in some Chicken Stock and peeled a Potato, cubed that, waiting for the Broccoli to finish
Spooned the Broccoli out of the Pot, dumped in the Potato to simmer, later browned some Ham in the Skillet
So, for Dinner, a hunka grilled Ham, some buttered Broccoli and simmered Taters, lookin' good
Decided to upload this diatribe Sunday afternoon, get things ready for Birthday tomorrow... OLE!
And then, a call from my Mechanic Friend, wanted me to come and get him, going to work on my Blazer
I picked up my Lottos on the way over, then drove over, picked him up, drove back to my place
And then he took the Blazer back home to work on the Steering and Brakes
Then nothing on the Schedule except to wait for the Postman to bring my new AeroGarden Power Base
Then I noticed blinking Lights again on Garden 4, 'Add Nutrient' and 'Add Water' so I did that
Then noticed the 'Heirloom Cherry' Tomatoes were starting to Bloom in Garden 5
They are supposed to be about the usual Size expected for regular Cherry Tomatoes
The 'Mega Cherry' Tomatoes in Garden 6 are supposed to be the largest of the Cherry Tomatoes
Then another Phone Call, the Mechanic Friend, worse problem that expected, worn out Ball Joints
So thats a bigger Job, putting that off until later, he's bringing back my Blazer
OK, my Blazer back Home and I was thinking it was time for my BirthDay Cake, my Birthday on Monday
Thinking of a Spice Cake but still had stuff from my last Christmas Fruitcake so decided on that
Back to the Price Chopper for Walnuts and Craisins, and Spice Cake Mix, Golden Pineapple on Sale so I got one
And Mixed Nuts and some Snickers 'Fun Size'... Back to el Ranchito to start on the Cake
Cake in the Oven at 2:30 p.m. Time to mix a Margarita and TV News catch up and wait for my Garden Base
And then at 3 p.m. here comes the Postlady with my Box so I can repair my Ailing Garden
Popped open the Box, took out the Base, took off the Water Tank top with Seedlings in place, set it on a couple props
Then emptied the Water Tank, saved the Water and Nutrient in the Tank, lifted the Tank off the base
Then set the new Base in place, poured the water back in, set the Seedlings back on top of the Tank
And all set, Set the Grow Light back on top, plugged the Power Base in, Wah Lah! A beep and the Dashboard came on
Then you go though the new Plant Routine, Set the Clock, select Garden Type, things I already had done
I got to the the last step where it says you are done and the Grow Light comes on and it flashed on!
And then it went off and the Garden was dead again, looks like the problem was in the Grow light and not the Base
So back to where I was for the last Week, I'll call them again on Monday Morning and talk to Susan
It looks like a defective Grow Light blew out the Power base on both Bases, I am thinking they might just replace the whole Garden
So that was it for the Garden Problem, back to the Cake Project, out of the Oven at 3:30 p.m.
Let it cool and then put on the Icing, I don't usually add that, but it is ny Birthday and I need to decorate it
So back to my Margartita, the TV and some Dinner later and I am finished with Saturday.. BYE!
So on to a wet Saturday, no plans except to saute some Brussels Sprouts to go with a Pork Chop for Dinner
But that is for later in the Day, now have a long dreary Day ahead to entertain myself with something... But what?
Well then, some more Photos of the Gardens again? The Mighty Mini Cherry Tomatoes in Garden 3 and 4
And the Lettuce going at it in the new but Dead Garden 7... Get that Base here quick, plants getting stringy
Dumped a good serving of that on a Plate, added a Pork Chop, Tater and Gravy, I hit a homer on this one!
I can modestly say the best Brussels Sprouts I can remember and I have done a lot over the years
So that was a super Dinner for Friday Night, what for today, Saturday? Well I see the new Base is here
At least they say it is at the local Postoffice and will be delivered Today, probably after Noon
So, let's get at it... I hope that solves my AeroGarden problem, for now anyway
And then... A piece of that Pumpkin 'Cake' and out into that wet dark Morning, dripping Rain again
Off to the Price Chopper, hit the ATM for a couple Twenties and stuck one in Machine Two for Four Tickets
Back to my warm place to scratch off Two Duds and Two Winners, a $5 and a $15, money back and no profit
So be happy with that and quit? Hah... Back to the Minit Mart to try again... I need a big Winner
Back out in the continuing Rain and on to the Minit Mart... Traded in my Winners for Losers, the way it goes
Then back home to just putter around inside and wear out the Day, then thought about my Walmart Delivery
And back out in the Rain again, Five Miles up the Road to Walmart, all the way to the back to get my Order
Picked up my Order, just another Herb Seed Pot Kit I don't really need, just has one Oregano Pod I want
The rest of the Herbs I already have from original Pod Kits that come with the Gardens
No matter which Garden you order, the original Seed Pods are Herbs, Others you have to order separately
And then I wandered back through the Food Section, picked up some Wine, Tequila and Triple Sec
Saw some nice Pork Chops, got those and then way down to the other end for some Cat Food...
Checked out and headed back for Home in the still falling Rain to finish out the Day
Now what? Friday Morning, still all wet out front, saying light Rain again, run for the Hills!
Good news in Email though, Power Base due for delivery on Saturday, I really want that
The Lettuce is up and already getting spindly for lack of Light, hurry up UPS!
Well, the Forecast said 34 and Rain but there was a little Snow on my Windshield as I peeked out around 7:45
But none on the Ground or the Street, let's keep it that way please... And then off to the Minit Mart
So I got my Lottos, won some. lost some, no profit and I could use some again this Month
Always a few extra Bills in December and January that sort of strain the Budget some
So then, waiting for an Email from Aerogarden, not receiving any I called them again
I asked Susan if she got my Email with Proof of Purchase and did they have all the Info they needed there
She said 'Un momento por favor' and looked it up, yes all they needed and the Replacement was on the way
They sure seem to be nice people and their Guarantee has been great so far
Both from AeroGarden and MiracleGro who owns that Company, I've had good results from both
Well, I decided my Finger might do well getting a little open air and left the BAND-AID off for a while
I got a Photo for my Surgery Photo File, don't look at it, looks messy, but I think it's better
So enough of that, getting on to better things, remembered I had about a Cup of Pureed Pumpkin in the Fridge
How about some more Pumpkin Bread? Off to the Price Chopper for Walnuts and Sugar and whatever
I had most all the other Ingredients here and started on the Project, really pretty easy
The Recipe calls for Raisins and I only had 'Craisins' but I like them better anyway so used them
So I whupped up the Batter, into the Pan and into the Oven, ahhhh, doesn't look so wonderful but sure is good!
And then I made some Devilled Eggs for an afternoon TV Snack, later a plate of 'Warmovers' at Dinner
Finished off the Day with a slice of that latest Baked Goodie, a pretty nice Wednesday after all
And cold again Tuesday Morning but going to near 40 they say... and a little Sun maybe
The Finger has been a bit more painful since they changed the Bandage, I popped another Aspirin
Seems strange that Aspirin works for me for a lot of things, even used to help Sunburn
And a Finger Report... Into the Shower... Afterward I took off the Bandage the Nurse applied Monday
Then wrapped the Finger up in a nice wide Band-Aid, and then, no pain and looks quite a bit straighter
Maybe now I can try to keep it straight and then the Doctor won't have to try his 'Therapy' next time
And then off to get my Lotto Fortune, it has done so well eluding me more of late
And I stopped in at the Price Chopper so Rion could sell me $20 Worth, only won $10 back
So, I had $15 of winners from Monday and $10 from Tuesday... Went to see what the Minit Mart could contribute
And their donation was NOTHING, not a good Fortune Day for sure, so then what?
Well, it was a tad warmer so I went out front and took down my Christmas Bells and wreath
And then clipped and dried some more Basil, and that Basil Plant in Garden 4 is waning some now
And I watered the stuff in the Pots on the Shelf in the Kitchen, those Plants aren't doing much
That was about the Day, on to tht Usual Afternoon and Evening... Ho Hum... Winter Blues...
No word from Aerogarden about the replacement Garden, did get a Notice my Seed Pods were at Walmart
Maybe I'll trot over there Today, don't need any more Pods just now though, just something to do
So then finished my morning Routine and set off in the cold and gray Morning for Platte City
Took a little longer than usual but I headed back and was at the Price Chopper by 10:30 a.m. for my Lottos
Picked up my $20 worth of Scratcher Lottos, back at el Ranchito to recoup only $15 of that
And then it was time to call Aerogarden with my Problem, explained it to the nice Lady
And she seemed cocerned about it and asked that I send Proof of Purchase, or a Photo if I didn't have that
When she got that Email she said she would send a replacement 'Power Base' with priority Shipping
So then the Day dragged on until about 2 p.m. then I set out for my Doctor appointment
And almost got slightly lost again, those streets there are the most confusing I have seen anywhere
Anyway I got there early but didn't have to wait much past my Appointment time, was ushered into the little Room
And the project was to remove the week old dirty Bandage, should be no big deal.... but it was!
The first, unwinding the Tape was easy, but then removing the padding underneath was not (for me)
It was stuck with dried Blood to the wound and when she tugged I got a jolt of real pain, the first of the deal
So she clipped and pulled, and I was grunting at every try, finally she got a Basin of warm Water to soak it off
And now it was hurting steadily, but the Nurse said it was looking good, sure wasn't feeling good
Then the Doctor came in and took a look, he also said it was looking good, said they would Bandage it again
I could shower without wrapping up, just a light Bandage after, then come back in a Week for a little therapy
And on back to Parkville with my Finger hurting most all the way, but I made it OK
First thing a couple Aspirin, I have extra strength Tylenol but the Aspirin usually works for me
And then, I mixed a nice Manhattan, set out my Dinner Prep and back to the TV, my pain drifting away
Was checking out my Two big Aerogardens and their Crops, this shows how much they can grow in the big Gardens
I now have the Garden 5 Light Arm raised to the first Stop, I raised the one on the Garden 6 to compare
There are two stops to go, the Arm raises to a maximun of 24 Inches, now at 11 Inches, almost halfway
After I got the Photo I lowered the Garden 6 Arm back down, supposed to keep the Lights close
And so that was pretty much it for Monday, now nothing to do Tuesday and I like that for once
That Monday was not one I want to duplicate real soon, but might on January 14, next appointment
And DARN! I needed a few Items and forgot to buy them, back to the Price Chopper
Got my stuff and traded for two more Lottos, back home to work off just a $5 Winner this time
Stopped by to pick up Saturday's Mail and the Seeds I was waiting for were there
Brought in a small Pot from out front, added a little Potting Soil to top it off
Then I planted the tiniest Seeds I think I have seen, smaller than the head of a Pin for sure!
To plant them, I wet the end of a Toothpick, dipped a few Seeds out and stuck them in the Pot
Now to see, if and when they will Pop up, then I'll tell you what they are supposed to be
That was about the Gardening for the Day, except more watering, The Mini Tomatoes in Garden 4 use a lot
And the Heirloom Cherry Toms in Garden 5 use even more, the plants are getting BIG now
The Light Arm has three extensions, and the first is now at its highest point
So then I added some Rice, Broth, Chicken and Peppers and Onions to my leftover 'Arroz con Pavo'
Now I guess you could call it... 'Arroz con Pavo y Pollo?' Anyway it tastes good
That was the Day pretty much, Now Monday Morning, off to Platte City first at 8:30 a.m.
Back by the Price Chopper afterward for lottos, maybe one so big I have to take it to Independence to Cash
Then this Afternoon about 2 p.m. Let the Doc take a peek and the Nurse to put on a clean Bandage
The one I have now is looking a bit worse for wear after a full Week
And then back to tend to the Plants in the Kitchen, not doing nearly as well as the AeroGarden Plants
But like last Year's experiments, those CFL Grow Lights just don't have the punch of the LED Lights
Anyway, I added some of the Aerogarden Nutrient to a half gallon of Water and watered the Plants
See if that might give them a little boost, I am not looking for a lot of success with this Kitchen idea
And then a look at the Gardens in the Living Room, they keep telling me what to do
Garden Number 5 said to 'Add Water', garden Number Three wanted Nutrient, so I watered and fed them
The 7 Pod Gardens have a 'Dashboard' that gets Specific, Gardens 3 and 4 just have warning Lights
Any Afternoon happenings? Nope, same old stuff... I did raise the Shelf my Pots were on in the Kitchen
One Orange Tree was almost touching the Shelf so I raised it out of the way for now
And now, what's coming? Just some Seed Pods I am in no hurry for and some Oregano Seeds I want to try
These I want to plant in a Pot, get them started and then take them outside when the Weather warms up
Then on to a routine 'Warm-up' Dinner and off to bed... And what's for Today? Again.... Who knows?
And what to do first on new Years Day... well I already did that, first I added Nutrient and Water to Garden 5
And then Water to the rest that needed it, Garden 6 is really looking good now, had to raise the Light again
And then, I finished my Morning Routine and set out in the Crisp Cold Sunny Morning to the Price Chopper
I needed Coffee, Milk and Apple Juice, got those and $20 worth of Lottos, and then won $15 back... $5 Loss
On to a nothing planned Day... Saw I had an Order for Pick-up at Walnmart so I scooted over there
Just a Brita Filter Pitcher and extra Filters, hardly worth a Photo for here, a Pitcher is a Pitcher
Headed on back and decided to trade my $15 Winner for a few More Scratches... $15 didn't cut it
Bit then back home, was welcomed by the Hungry Cat, Fed him some Goodies and then scratched off my Tickets
Scratched off Two Losers then... LOOKEE THERE! First $100 Winner of the New Year, Please... may there be more to come!
Then time to unpack my Filter Pitcher and try it out, maybe make Coffee with it on Saturday
And mix a Margarita, figure out 'What's for Dinner' and then back to the Afternoon TV catch up
That was about it again for the rest of the Day, seems Afternoons and Evenings are pretty much all the same lately
I have so much Food stored now it seems I am always warming up leftovers but the Dinners have all been Tasty
I just need to stay out of the Price Chopper and quit Cooking until I catch up with this stash
Now Saturday, the second Day of the New Year, and $100 of Lotto Cash in my Pocket to start the Day
And I used my Filter Pitcher to make my Coffee, and it tastes better, but I dount it is from the Filtered Water
I finished one kind of Coffee and went back to another, don't know if it actually tastes better or just my imagination
And what for Saturday, again no plans, just get my Lottos and putter around the Apartment... Ho Hum...
Sunday the same but Monday will be a little busier, a short trip to Platte City and then Doctor Day
Have to check in to let the Doc see what he did and then get a new Bandage, actually seems good now
So far the Finger operation went well, and seems to be doing well, no pain just the bother of that big Bandage
And the bother of wrapping up the Hand to keep it dry in the Shower and a little hard to hold on to the Soap
Now a check up Appointment is on Monday, rebandage, then another on the 14th to take out the Stitches, hope that is all
Thought about making some Ham and Beans with the Ham Bone and Scraps from my Lotto Ham
So I took off for the Price Chopper for Beans and Lottos, Beans were on Sale, traded in my $15 of Winners
Back home to scratch off another $15 in Wins, even up for the Day, put the Ham Bone in the Pot to simmer
Then took a few Photos of the new Garden setup, it has changed about Six times since I bought the first Garden
I have several Cronic uncurable Diseases... Photoitis, Cumputeritis, Cookingitis, Lottoitis and now Aerogardenitis
Whatever I get into I seem to dive in deeper and deeper... But such fun to chase the Rainbows
Well, it livens up the Living Room, not a lot of Production like I have said but better to look at than Flowers
At least you get to Snip a little something to Eat now and then and I love to grow things
And the Living Room view from my TV Spot keeps changing, so many changes since 15 years ago
On into a slow Afternoon of New Years Eve Celebration, how about that Feast!
I took the Bones out of the Ham Broth, added in Onions and Great Morthern Beans and lots of Ham pieces
While that was on Simmer I mixed up and Baked up a Dish of Cornbread to go with it
So later to finish up the Day and the Year, I dished up a Bowl of that super Soup and a hunk of Cornbread
Slathered Butter on the Cornbread, headed back to the TV and Finished New Years Eve with Netflix
And that was surely a tasty Dish to set before the King, that is Good Stuff there, Maynard!
