~ Dill and Basil Snipped on Sunday ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Dark and Wet again out there Monday Morning but not quite as Cold at 35 Degrees
What is this now... Three or Four Rainy Days hovering around near Freezing but no Snow
Well I can handle that, I'm in no hurry for Snowy slick Streets yet... if ever

And what for a New Day and New Week? Again no plans for the Day as usual lately
So off in that Dark, Wet, Cold, Rainy Weather again to try my lately lack of Luck
And true to form, I lost my $20 in Winning Tickets that I traded in, better Luck in December... I Hope

On into that long dark Day, at least the Rain stopped, maybe some Sun one of these days?
Took a peek at my Aerogarden Number Four, the Plants in that thing are really going to Town!
I raised the Grow Lamp on Sunday, but Monday the Basil, the tallest Plant, was almost touching the Light
The grow instructions say, don't wait, prune... Well there were some pretty good size Leaves on that Basil
And the other Plants were somewhat behind so I clipped the top cluster of Basil Leaves
Just where they said to clip, just above the next growing cluster, this takes off the top but lets other Leaves grow
And those leaves into the Oven to dry and then add to my Basil Jar, every bit helps to fill it

OK, starting on Dinner really early, I have so much now to choose from, how about Roast Beef, Potato and Carrots?
Put a Carrot and Potato in the Pot to simmer, some Beef out of the Freezer, sliced the Beef, added Onions and Gravy
The Idea here, Potato, Carrot, Beef and Onion all on the plate, warm Beef Gravy over all, kind of a Beef Stew
Peeled the Potato and sliced it, sliced the Carrot and Beef, spread the chopped Onions and Gravy around
Ready to Nuke later and that has to be GOOD...

So... a long TV afternoon, still Cold. Dark and Rainy out there and one long gloomy Day
I had Dinner all prepared and just waitng for a later Nuking, was sipping a second Margarita
Usually just one Cocktail in the Afternoon but I started earlier on that Gloomy Day
Anyway... Knock knock on my Door, my upstairs neighbor needing a ride for a Job Application
Where to? 'Toy's R Us'... Where is that? Looked it up on my Computer... AHA... Way over there
So I put my shoes on and we headed out, that is quite a distance from my place but made good time
And when we got there, found that you had to apply online, so back to the Ranch with the .url

Anyway, back to finish out my long long Day, noticed one Garden 'Nutrient' Light was on
So I aded Nutient and then Water to the other Gardens and noticed one more tiny Tomato
That made Three on that Plant and then I noticed a really tiny fourth just appearing

~ Number Three Tomato on Monday ~

And then the Day's Finale... Nuked up my Roast Beef Dinner, then hit the sack way too early
Then woke up way too early, wide awake and ready to start the day at 2:30 a.m. OH NO!

Anyway, it is Happy Pay Day and the start of a whole new last Month of the Year
'Merry Christmas!'

~ Dashboard on my AeroGarden Number Five ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Looks like we are in a Weather Rut... How many Cold Dark Wet Mornings have we had in a Row?
Well, too many for me, anything under 50 Degrees for me just doesn't get it, not a Winter Guy
One bright Ray of Sunshine on the Horizon... Pay Day tomorrow Night... And I need this one
More Bills than usual and less Wins than usual, this really has been a bleak November
But then, a few Good Days, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Two new Gardens, new Seed Pods, good Cooking Days

So another try at Winning, I tried the Minit Mart first, HAH! Did win back $15 but that will not do!
Later I went back to the Price Chopper, got $20 more, won $20 back, that's a loss for the Day of $5
Well I have that $20 worth of Winners to try this Morning, Monday... and then Happy Pay Day is Tuesday!

Again not much going on Sunday but I did keep busy puttering around here and there inside
I had the Grow Light in AeroGarden Number One all the way to the Top and the Dill was almost touching it again
So I snipped off all tha tallest Dill Stems and the tallest Basil Stem, not a lot of Harvest there
But actually I am storing more of those two Herbs than I am using, I don't use much Dill and very little more Basil
But then it looks like these Mini-Gardens are more for Show than Production, they are nice to see Growing
And this Morning I see I have a Second little Tomato, I wonder how big those tiny marbles will get?

~ One More Tiny Tomato Showed up ~ May be more Hiding in there ~

And finished out the rest of the Day like the last few cold wet Days, just trying to keep busy at something
The Grand Finale was another Turkey Dinner, this year's Turkey is quite Tasty, this time some Breast Meat
That on a Plate with Dressing with Turkey Gravy, Buttered Carrots and Brocolli and a Glass of Wine, Yeah!

Now what to start the Week? Pay Day Tuesday Night, all Bills scheduled to be paid then
No plans today except try some Lottos and then what? Wish I would get another one to take to Independence
Anything over $599 you have to Mail or take to a Missouri Lotto Office, I have had to do that only ONCE

Well, I have heard that Lightning does now and then Strike Twice... I am READY!

~ Another Dark, Wet, Cold Morning on Saturday ~
~ Just a Little Gardening in my Indoor Winter Gardens ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Pumpkin Pie Baked Friday ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Saturday Morning starting out just like Friday, Dark and Wet and One Degree below Freezing!
And calling for Freezing Rain, like we needed that, that's worse than Snow
So I did my Computer stuff, chatted with Sigi in Germany, wrote my BLOG, Posted that
Then edited a few Nature Trail Web Pages and reuploaded those, that Project pretty well complete

Then a Piece of the Pumpkin Pie I baked on Friday, not quite as tasty as the first one
But I hadn't put it in the Fridge overnight, seems it's better when it's cold
And also it seems to me the flavor enhances after a day or so, may be better tomorrow

And then a Peek at the Plants in my the Pots I planted on November 13th
The stuff does grow bigger and faster in the AeroGardens, check out the AeroGarden below

~ Dill ~ Parsley ~ Basil ~

Then the latest photo of AeroGarden Four and this was planted on November 11th, just two days before the Pots
Some of that Lettuce and Basil look almost ready to snip now in just Sixteen Days

~ Lettuce, Tomato, Basil, Dill, Tomato and Lettuce ~

But the AeroGardens have better Grow Lights that are Brighter and closer to the Plants
And maybe the Nutrient they furnish has some super Stuff in it, I did put 'Miracle-Gro' in the Pots
Wish we had some Sun and Warm Days to set the Pots outside to get a Boost

Finally got around to my Shower at 10 a.m. Time to get out and try that slippery Hill
The only think I need to get out for this Winter Day was my try at my elusive Fortune
And off to the 'Minit Mart' to try and that try was not very successful. only $5

So another of those 'just putter around inside' Days but I kept going
The Gardens take some attention almost Daily, usually add water, or jiggle the Aerator to get it going
The Three small ones have a 'Bubbler' that bubbles all Day, the Number Four and Five have an Aerator Pump
They say that Pump will run Five Minutes every Hour, Not so easy to check that

I had the yen for something Green to add to Dinner, headed back on dry Streets then to the Chopper
Picked up a nice double Stem of Broccoli, that should do it, add that to a Smoked Pork Chop later
And I traded in that $5 Ticket Win for some more, this time a $15 Win, looks like I will make it to Pay Day now
I have a $15 of Wins to trade in today (Sunday) and a $20 Bill to buy for Monday and Pay Day is Monday Night

I had extra Bills in November and another one in December, I hope December Wins will be better than November
Anyway, off to finish out another COLD Day, haven't checked outside today to see if I can get up the Hill
But there was only One Day in the last 15 Years that I couldn't get up that Hill until 1 p.m.

And so.... TALLY HO! and CHARGE!

~ The Day after My Sixth Day of Thanksgiving ~
~ Cold and Rainy and Baked a Pie ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ LOOKEE! First Mighty Mini Tomato! ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Friday Morning, all dark and Cold and Rainy out there and Ice on my Windshield
So first the usual Computer warmup, the Bank, Facebook, Email... then finished my BLOG
And then some more Web Paging, getting the 'Nature Trail' Pages ready to upload to my Site
I had them pretty well finished and did a Trial Upload to see what was what, had to correct a few things
And I wanted to add a few things here and there but now the Nature Trail Pages are pretty well back on the Net

And so... My 'Harvest' AeroGarden had a couple of lights blinking, 'Add Water' and 'Add Nutrient'
So I added Water and Nutrient and pushed the Reset Button, Mission Accomplished

And then out in the Cold and Rain to scrape some Ice off my Windshield to head to the Price Chopper
I was thinking Pumpkin Pie again, didn't make one for Thanksgiving this year, and I have Pumpkin
I had Two containers of Pumpkin in the Freezer, each one would make a Pie, put one out to thaw
Then I went to the Price Chopper for Cool Whip, Evaporated Milk and Pie Crust... (and Lottos)
Sure not like Thursday in there, hardly anyone in the place and that's fine with me
And back Home to unload and then work NO WINNERS again... As I said... Worst Month this year for Winners

OK, then time to start on my Pie, Pumpkin Pie is so easy, I just follow the 'Famous Libby's Pumpkin Pie' Recioe
Sugar, Salt, Cinnamon, Ginger, Cloves, Nutmeg, Eggs, Pumpkin, Evaporated Milk and stir
Preheat the Oven to 425 Degrees, pour the Pumpkin into the Crust, into the Oven to bake for 15 Minutes
Then lower the Heat to 350 Degrees, bake for another 50 MInutes or so, check with the knife and WAH LAH! Done

While the Pie was finishing I got the Email from Walmart that said 'Come and Get It!' and I headed out
Out into that Cold and Wet and Freezing Temp, 31 Degrees but not freezing on the Street
Got a parking spot closer than I expected, went in to also see a much smaller Crowd than I expected
Maybe even less than a usual Day, No Black Friday rush there for sure, on to the back for Store Pick-up then
And there, quite a few more Cutomers picking things up than usual, but I got to the Counter quickly
Got my Order, then picked up a few more Items on the Way Out, finding Walnart is a better place than I thought

Back out into that Chilly Rain, loaded up and headed for Home, unloaded my stuff, next, plant those Pods

And that was easy enough, I already had the Water and Nutrients in it, just stuck in the 'Spacers' and planted my Pods
There is a Display on the Front that steps you through setting the time and planting the Pods, a smart Machine

~ Lots of unused Space on this Big Momma, Only three Pods planted ~

Why only Three Pods in a Seven Pod Garden? Well, these Three plants grow larger than most of the other Pods
And then on to the Afternoon and Evening, TV and running around from Computer to Kitchen and back to the TV
Another busy day doing lots of little things but getting a lot done and some fun in there too
And finished the Day with my Third Turkey Dinner, that could go on for a long time now

And now the last Saturday of the Month and Pay Day on Tuesday and I really need this one
Why does Money get so scarce in December when you seem to need a little extra? Oh Well...
So what today? Really no plans now, just run to the 'Minit Mart' for some Lotto Losers
Lots of things need to be done outside but not on days like this, I'm wishing for Spring already

~ Thankful for my Good Luck in Life ~

~ Turkey Sliced and Ready ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Turkey Day! All the way... and my Turkey waiting to be sliced, all roasted and ready
The usual Computer stuff first thing and then also some Internet Web Page Editing
I had turned the Parkville Nature Sanctuary Web Site over to the Director, Bob Fluchel
And then Bob turned it over to the City of Parkville to manage and they left out about 90% of it
I had a lot of Activities, Videos and Photos of Events they did not include in their City Site
Too many good things missing for the Sanctuary People want to see, so I am putting them on my unofficial Site
And... I will be interested to see what Dirctor Bob has to say about what the City did to his Site

Checking my Email as I do all Day, I see that my new AeroGarden is in Kansas City this Morning
And they say that it is on the Vehicle ready for Delivery,.. But... On the next Business Day
And that is 'Black Friday' and one of the worst days of the Year to go to Walmart to pick it up

Then checking my Winter Gardens again I see that the 'Deer Tongue' Lettuce is ready to Harvest
But enough for a small bowl of Wilted Lettuce and I need Green Onions for that
So off to the Price Chopper, quite a busy Day for them, Parking Lot full and lots of People
Headed in to the Produce Department to wish Luis, mi Amigo... 'Feliz Dia del Pavo!' He gave me a big grin
I got my Green Onions and my $20 of Lottos and headed Home, then scratched off a $15 Win... Oh Well

Then a very late Breakfast, should say Lunch... and on to the rest of the Day, a few things to do
The Deer Tongue Lettuce was ready so I snipped that to make Wilted Lettuce Later

~ Last of the Lettuce to Harvest ~ Last Crop of Lettuce for Dinner ~

The Paris Island Lettuce wasn't doing anything there and I had a new Pod of that planted so I took all the Pods out
Then siphoned all the old Water Out, refilled the Tank and planted two Cilantro Seed Pods
I have never cared much for the Odor of Cilantro and never have used it but might as well try those Pods

~ Cilantro Planted Thursday ~ Lettuce Planted Earlier ~

On through the Afternoon, Cucktail and TV Time, out to the Kitchen to work on some T-Day Dinner
I cut up the Green Onions and Lettuce, into a Bowl to wait for Dressing at Dinner
The Dressing was ready to nuke in a Cup, Bacon Fat, Vinegar, Salt, Sugar and Water
Dumped some Dressing and about half a Turkey Thigh on a Plate, Turkey Gravy over that
And for the Finale of the Day, nuked the Dresing, poured over the Lettuce, Turkey and Dressing nuked
Back to the TV to gobble up my second Turkey Day Dinner.. and lots more to come

~ Turkey in the Freezer ~ One Big Thigh ~ Two Legs to Smoke on a Warm Day ~

And that ended Turkey Day, Black Friday now upon us, I don't like that Idea at all, stores are crowded enough
And I saw that my Seed Pod would be delivered today at Walmart, if I can find a place to park
At least the Store Pick-up is way in the back and I won't have to use the front Check-out

And then on to another Post T-Day Day with High Hopes!

~ Turkey in the Brine Tuesday Night ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

5 a.m. on Wednesday, up and at 'em, first reset the Aerogardens start time, get them Synced together
Then the Phone on the Charger, the Coffee on, poured my Apple Juice then on to BLOG time
Posted that and then on to the Online Crosswords... Ho Hum... still just a little after 6 a.m.

Turned out to be a busy Morning, nothing much doing but lots of it, here and there
Clothes in the Washer, Turkey out of the Fridge, some dry Bread out of the Freezer for Dressing
I made a run to the Price Chopper for my Lottos, another No Go... Where did my Good Luck go?
A late Breakfast ad then started on my Turkey Roasting, decided to do it a little different
I like to smoke Turkey Legs, the Price Chopper hasn't had any lately so I cut the Legs off to Freeze
Then I Trimmed off the Wings, decide to roast them separately, that gave the Bird a lot trimmer size to Roast

Getting ready to put the Turkey into the Oven... Oh Oh, no Poultry Seasoning... Back to the Price Chopper
Picked up Poultry Seasoning, on sale! Turkey Gravy, on sale!, Chicken Broth... on sale!

Then what the Heck, bought $20 more Lottos, back to scratch off $15 in Wins... Well only lost $4
I had rinsed the Brine off the Turkey, next I Painted it with Melted Butter, sprinkled with Poultry Seasoning
I did the Breast Side first, then put it in the rack Breast Side down and then Buttered and Seasoned the Back
I like to roast it Breast down for about half the Time then flip it over to finish Breast side up
That roasts the Turkey more evenly and not so much of a dry Breast... Then I put the Wings into another dish
Everything in the Oven at Noon, to check again in a couple Hours then Flip it over to finish

Checked again about 2 p.m. Looking good, took the Bird out of the Oven Flipped it, put it back in
Checked once more about 3 p.m, I was thinking would take 4 Hours to Roast but it looked ready so I took it out
And it was ready, just right, I let it cool some then attacked it with my Knife

~ Turkey is Ready! ~ Two Thighs ~ Two Breasts ~ Two Legs to Smoke ~

So I hacked it into four big Pieces for many Dinners... The Legs were in the Freezer to smoke later
I took the Meat off the Wings to add to the Dressing, put the Bones in a big Pot for Stock and Turkey Bits

Time to finish the Dressing, Onions, Celery and Green Pepper into the Pot with some Olive Oil to simmer
Some Chicken Stock, Turkey Bits and the Bread Cubes into the Pot, mixed well, then into a Caserole to bake
And Dinner all ready and waiting for whenever, back to the TV with my Margarita

Then to fnish the Fifth Day of my Thanksgiving, a plate of Turkey Bits, Dressing and a side of Cranberry Sauce
An ample repast and a tasty preview of many T-Day Dinners to come, that's a lot of Turkey there

~ Ever Onward and Upward ~

~ Garden Number Four on Monday ~ Growing Fast ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And so, the Urologist Appointment at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, time to run for some Lottos first
So I got them, worked them for a $40 Win, took them back to trade for $20 more and a $20 Bill
And then headed to the Doctor from the Price Chopper, work them later at Home

So arrived at the new Building where the Urologist moved, where do you Park? That place is always packed
Anyway found a place in the wrong Parking lot and had to walk a little extra, no problem, I was early
And up the Elevator and into the new Offices, larger and more Doctors, must have merged with someone

A lot more People running around, more Desks and Rooms, I likes the old place Better and told the Doc so
Anyway, first the Sample in the Cup, then into the little room, the tests and questions and then 'The Doctor will be in"
And he popped in, the PSA Sample was good but thought they should continue the Lupron Treatment
Then he left, the Nurse came back, down with the Pants, bend over and ZIP... that Shot, not so bad
Back in the Blazer, back to Parkville, another Cup of Coffee and scratch off NO WINNERS, still even up though

Checked the Tracking Number on my Seed Pot Kit, they were saying Monday the 30th, now saying Friday the 27th
That's better but I want to get that thing perking away, I want some Tomatoes and Jalapeno Peppers
You know... those little Gardens do not grow large quantities but it's nice to see the Plants growing

And then... Anticipating my new Seed Pods any Day now I started setting up the new BIG Garden
I set the Clock, not really needed but... Then I added Nutrient to a half Gallon of Water, poured that in
Then I filled the Water Tank to the Fill Line, that's about I can do until I get My Seed Kit

OK, what else? Out to the Kitchen to check the Turkey in the Fridge, yeah, felt like it was thawed
So I put a Cup of Sugar and a Cup of Kosher Salt and a Gallon of Water in a Pot to Boil, then attacked the Turkey Bird
Cut it out of the Netting and Packaging, Snipped some excess Skin here and there
Worked out the Giblets and Neck, rinsed it good and then into the Brine I had poured into my Cooler
And the Cooler into the Fridge, then the Giblets into a Pot to simmer for the Dressing

Time for a Manhattan and get caught up with the TV... And what's for Dinner later? Hmmmmm...
And later... It was a Good Beef Stew Dinner and off to a Good Night
And what's for Wednesday? At 6 a.m. the Wash is in the Washer, the Turkey Bird is out of the Fridge
The Coffee is made, the BLOG almost finished... Post this Drivel and then Off to the New Day!

~ My Third Day of Thanksgiving ~ Cranberry Sauce on Toast ~
~ New AeroGarden Delivered ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Fresh Made 'Whole Berry' Cranberry Sauce ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And the usual drawn out Morning Routine, more time than usual on the Computers
And a little more Chat thsn usual with my German friend Sigi Wulle, in American English of Course
"Ich spreche nicht Deutsch, aber es macht Spaß zu versuchen"
And then off to the 'Minit Mart' for my Lottos, they didn't have my Favorite so I stopped at the Chopper for that one
And then again back Home to again scratch off NO WINNERS, continuing my long losimg streak

And so, waiting for Deliveries again, they said at first my new AeroGarden would arrive on Wednesday
But I checked the Tracking Number and they said it was in Kansas City at 5 a.m. Monday... HAH! Maybe today?>
Then back from the losing Lotto search I checked that Number again... HAH! Said 'Out for Delivery'
So some Cranberry Sauce on Toast for a late Breakfast and then waiting again at Noon for the Big Brown Truck

I changed my idea where to put it, could not extend the 24 Inch Lamp Arm fully on the Bottom Shelf
So I moved the three Gardens that were on the Top Shelf to the Lower Shelf, now the new one goes on Top
And then it was a long afternoon wait for my new Garden, they said shipped by UPS and he usualy shows up around Noon

Just tried to keep occupied with little to do and watching TV and checking out the front Window from the Sofa
And finally about 3 p.m. I saw a USPS Truck pull in the parking area next door, I went to watch
And he got out and headed up the Hill to the next Building... Oh No! I am down here
So I walked out front, when he came back down I said I hope that wasn't my Package you took up there
He said No! And reached in for another big Box... and headed down to hand it to me... HAH!

~ Their 'Largest and Best AeroGarden ~ And the New Garden Arrangement ~

It was a BIG Box and had a BIG Aerogarden inside, I unpacked and assembled it, no Tools just this goes here and there
And then I set it on the Top Shelf and plugged it in to get a Photo, no Seed Pods here to plant yet
Well it did come with Six Herb Seed Pods but I ordered some Tomato and Jalapenos to plant in this one<
They are coming for Store Pickup at Walmart, saying Monday but I hope come sooner as they sometimes do

So they say this one is their Biggest and Best and it sure is a Big Momma! Over twice the size of the last One
And it has holes for Seven Pods, and came with Six Herb Pods... But the Salsa Pod Kit grows large plants
That is the one I have coming and they say to plant only three large Pods at once

So the rest of the Day was as usual, finished a Movie I had started on my new Amazon 'Prime'
Now Tuesday, and an early Visit to the Urologist, checking my PSA score and maybe another Lupron Shot
And then what? Just another Day in Parkville, usually pretty good Days for me

~ Ever Onward and Upward ~

~ Another AeroGarden on the Way ~ They say their 'Biggest and Best' ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Took a peek for the Weather on the Computer... Brrrrrr 30 Degrees at 6 a.m. Now... That's COLD!
But then we have had a rather moderate October and November until now.. So?
And, Computer time first, well actually second, took a look at the Indoor Gardens first
Then put the Phone on the Charger, put the Coffee on and mixed my Apple Juice
And then to the Computer for the Weather, the Bank, the Email and Facebook comments, then Crosswords
And then to finish and post my comments on my Daily Drivel and a lot to talk about for Saturday

So, it was in the 40s when I set out on my Journey, needed one Item at Walgreens and my Lottos at Price Chopper
My Item was on Sale at Walgreens but my Lottos were Duds again, worst Luck this month than EVER!

And then back at El Ranchito to attack my fresh Cranberries, I need to stock up on them
Fresh only available at the Price Chopper this time of Year and I like them Year round and all then are in Cans
So, so easy to make the Sauce, two package of Cranberries, two Cups of Water, two Cups of Sugar
Simmer a few Minutes and Wah Lah! That 24 Ounces of Sauce will last me a long and tasty time

Into the afternoon and starting to think of Dinner, still some of that last Roast Beef in the Freezer
Some of that and a Tater... and I have some Green Onions and Bacon left, maybe more Wilted Lettuce

And then TV time, I got an Email from Amazon about their 'Prime' Streaming TV Service, offering a 30 Day Trial
So I checked on it, found the Price... Figures to only 26 Cents more a month than Netflix which I have
And it looks like they have a greater selection of Movies and also I get free two Day Shipping from Amazon

~ Watched a New Movie last Night on Amazon Prime ~ Looks Great! ~

So I signed up, signed in to Amazon on my TV and there it was and it does look like a better deal
I picked out what looked like a good late Movie and ended my Happy Day with that

And... How Sweet It Is! Oh? Is it Monday again?

~ First Day of Thanksgiving ~ I Bought my Turkey ~
~ Oh No! Another AeroGarden Ordered ~

~ Lotsa Blooms on my Mighty Mini Tomatoes ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Up and at 'em early on Saturday Morning, dark and COLD out there at 33 Degrees, another drab day?
Started out attending to the Indoor Gardens, I reset the timers on all, they stay on for 16 Hours
And for some reason the new one did not shut off on schedule so I shut it off and waited for Morning
So, 6 a.m. and I hit the Power Strip switch, that resets the three smaller Gardens but the newest one has a Reset button
So I hit that one and checked to see all were bubbling away, their Aerators working
On to my Computers and checking the Bank, Email and Facebook, then working the Crosswords online

Had my Coffee, posted my BLOG, looking through my Email and a Coupon offer from AeroGarden
So I checked that out, $70 of their Best and Biggest AeroGarden, got interested
But then I checked on Amazon and they had the same one for $100 off regular, lookin' good!
Now you know I need another Aerogarden, I have four now... but... Some Seed Pods grow too big for them
But I saw that this one, their biggest would handle the Seed Pods that I wanted, the 'Salsa Pods Kit'
I had plenty of room on my Amazon Store Card so I ordered it, then ordered the Salsa Seed Pod Kit from Walmart
Like all the other Gardens, this one comes with all Herb Pod Kits and I don't need any more them just now

So, having the new Garden and Seed Kits on Order, where will I put this stuff? That new one is BIG
This is the way it looked in the Living Room, full up and no more room on the Shelf

~ The Indoor Gardens the way they were Saturday Morning ~

So I decided to move the Orange Trees and Plants in Pots to a Shelf in the Kitchen, I used that Shelf for my Gardens last Year
Then moved it to the Kitchen to stack other things on it top to bottom, had to move some of that Stuff
Then I moved the Flourescent Grow Lights to that Shelf, then moved all the Pots there

~ Saturday Afternoon ~ In the Living Room ~ In the Kitchen ~

And... I read the Lamp Arm on the new Garden extends to 24 Inches, my present ones just to 10 Inches
The Living Room Shelf is barely 25 Inches from the Bottom Shelf to the Top, counting the Base the new one will not fit
So I removed the Clips and moved the Center Shelf to the Bottom, leaving an open space of about 24 Inches
The present Gardens will fit nicely on that with Lamps fully extended so, I'll put the New one on the top Shelf

And so, now checking my Email again I see the Garden will be here Wednesday, November 25th and the Pods Monday the 30th
Now waiting all over again, and a Weekend after the Garden gets here to plant, but sometmes Walmart ships early
Then... some Breakfast and then off to a winning Lotto Day (I hope)

Well, got the Idea of buying my T-Day Turkey so I headed to the Price Chopper, got a nice 12 Pound Bird for $12
On Sale at a higher Price than last Year but still a good buy for all that Turkey Meat
Picked up a couple Packs of Fresh Cranberries then my Daily Lottos to lose, not doing good this Month at all
Back home to load the Turkey into the Fridge to thaw and worked my Lottos for only a $5 Win

~ Nice Big Hen Turkey and some Cranberries for Sauce ~

Then I got a Call from my Nature Sanctuary Friend Pat who lives up the Hill and around the Corner
She had seen my Gardens on my BLOG and wanted to come down and see them, arrived about 2:30 p.m.
She liked the Gardens, and said she would like to order one, I connected my Laptop to my TV
Then we explored several Web Sites checking prices and Models of AeroGarden at several Stores
AeroGarden.com has a Big Sale on now but still the best price for the one she wanted was at Walmart
Then I mixed us a Margarita and we watched my Videos on Vimeo and other Sites online and on the TV 'Smart Hub"
So much you can do now with a TV, Computer and Smart TV... and also a Smart Phone 'Mirrored' on the TV

There was still a lot to see but the Afternoon waned and she had to get back to tend to things at Home
And then? What's for Dinner' Time? OK, I found some more Pork with BBQ Beans, that should do
Hotted up the Pork and Beans (Pato Style), Toasted a piece of Home Made Rye Bread and then back to the TV
Finishing up another COLD but productive and Fun Day... Now what for Sunday?

~ All Plants now Up in the New AeroGarden ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And off to the Medical Funhouse on a Dark, Cloudy, Cold and Dreary Morning
Got there, circled the entire Building, not a single Parking Space, parked across the Street
Then inside, the biggest crowd in the Lobby I have ever seen at that place...
Looked like they might be having a 'SALE' on something... Is everyone getting a Physical?

Anyway, signed in, had a seat, filled out some Forms, had a Chat with some old guy
Then called in by a cute little Chick... That teenage thing a Nurse? Weighed me in, had lost 15 Pounds
Then into the little Room for a bunch of Silly Medicare Physical Questions, tee hee...
Then a Breathing Test, an EKG, they have a new Little Electronic thing, no Paper Trail, right into the Computer
The usual Blood Pressure check, then out for an X-Ray and back to wait for the Doctor

Then he seemed more interested in his Computer input than my Gripes and Comments
I finally got in a few Words, a handshake, glad to see you again and off he went
Then I was escorted to the Lab, got my Needle Poke and headed back to Civilation
Stopped in the Chopper on my way Back, got my Lottos and then only won $5 and off to another BORING afternoon

Into a long Cold afternoon, the same as usual lately except was it a Manhattan or Margarita and 'What's for Dinner?
Well it was more Pork and Taters and more Wilted Lettuce... That stuff IS good

And now Saturday Morning and even COLDER out there at 33 Degrees, well we knew it was coming
Now that long cold wait until my 84th Spring and when do we Plant? Got to get that Dirt hauled down
But not Today fer sure... I'll just go get some Lottos and hope for the Best, been a losing Month so far

~ My Indoor Garden on Wednesday ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Poking around as usual on the Computer Thursday Morning, this and that, what did we do before Computers?
Too far back for me to remember, I got my first one in 1985... an IBM PCjr... had some fun with that
And how many since then, would have to do some research, I have photos of most of them

No plans for Thursday, had a busy enough Day on Wednesday, will have a busy Morning Friday, Physical Exam
Started out with a litle minor Maintenance on my Gardens, they need a little something every Morning
Some Water, maybe raise the Lights, a little Pruning... They do need some attention
I noticed a couple more pop-ups, one Dill Plant in the Pot and one in the new AeroGarden
And lots more blooms on the Mighty Mini Tomato Plants, all Pods are now up in the New Garden

I headed up to the Price Chopper for my Lottos, bought $20, won back $20... no Profit there
Stopped back by for the Snail Mail... One HUGE Fingerhut Catalog, no Profit there either

Again just puttering around trying ways to pass the long inside Day, no real Project
I noticed that one Lettuce Plant was not coming back after the last Harvest
So I pulled that Pod, tossed it and planted another new One, another Lettuce Pod
Now I have all my spare Pods planted except for one more Tomato, Cilantro, Mint and Basil Pod
Looks like I will have to order some more. I have some AeroGarden Coupons to use

Well then, 'What's for Dinner?'... I had a Slice of that last Smoked Pork in the Fridge
So I sliced it in smaller pieces, put it in the Skillet to brown up a little
Then boiled a Potato, skinned it, thick sliced it and into the Skillet with that to Crisp up
And then the Special of the Day (again)... I did not have any Indoor Lettuce ready so back to the Chopper
I picked up a nice stalk of Romain Lettuce (on Sale) so I could do a re-run on Wilted Lettuce

Then at TV Theater time I assembled the plate of Pork and Taters, hotted up the Dressing for the Lettuce
Then wilted the Lettuce and Onions and Bacon at the last Minute before attacking that Feast at the TV
And everything was really tasty, maybe I could say that I liked my first try at Wilted Lettuce just a tad more

~ My Own Garden Wilted Lettuce ~ Romaine Lettuce from the Price Chopper ~

Well that was it for a kind of boring but pleasant Thursday, now off to see the Doctor on Friday
Nothing special, juat that Physical they have been bugging me to get, and no fun at all

~ Rain, Rain... Went Away ~
~ And Over to Quest for my PSA ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Mighty Mini Tomatoes Budding on Tuesday ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

A little more action on Wednesday, first had to run over to North Kansas City Hospital
To Quest Diagnostics Lab for my Semi-annual PSA Test, have to see the Urologist next Week
And in the Lab, a quick Needle stick and back out in Ten Minutes and headed back to Parkville

And again, the Plants in the Indoor Gardens getting Tall, the Tomatoes Blooming and the Lettuce ready to Snip
What to do with that Lettuce, getting almost to touching the Lamp again... AHA! Idea... Wilted Lettuce
Mom used to make that way back when and I made it a few times over the many years since
But I don't think I have made any the last 15 Years I have lived in Parkville, time to revive that Recipe

~ Tomato Plants Blooming ~ Lettuce to be Picked on Wednedsday ~

So, I needed some things at Walmart and some Bacon and Green Onions for the Lettuce so I headed back North again
Loaded up my Cart, mostly in the Market Section this time, found some good looking Pork Chops at a good price
And then back to El Rancho Pequeno to unload and find something to do the rest of the Morning

Well, I have a long News Video of the KC Royals Parade that I recorded on my DVR, decided to make a DVD
So I started on that, loaded it to my Video Editor, added a Title and some Music and did a little Editing
Got bored with that, decided to work on it some later and on to other things

I had a Pound of Bacon and a pack of large Pork Chops to cook, started on that
I usually cook up the whole pound of Bacon in the Oven and get the cooking out of the way
Turn the Oven up high, lay the Strips in my big Pyrex Dish and broil away til nice and crisp
Then pour off and save the Fat, put the Strips on Paper Towels to drain, then later store in the Freezer
That done I decided to do the Chops the Same way, then saved out a Chop and some Bacon for Dinner later

Time for a Manhattan and a TV News Catch up all over again, Tackle the rest of Dinner later
You want to do the Wilted Lettuce last so it will be fresh and hot and not too wilted
So I had the Chops ready, fried up some thick cut Potatoes to go along then the stuff to wilt the Lettuce
I had picked and rinsed and dried the Lettuce, next to make the Dressing, diced up sone Bacon
Cut up the Lettuce, some Green Onions, then made the Dressing of Bacon Fat, Vinegar, Sugar, Salt and Pepper

~ Mom's Wilted Lettuce... El Pato Style ~

I plated a Chop, my Potatoes, then the Dressing in the M/W to get Boiling Hot, the Onions and Lettuce in a Bowl
When the Dressing was Hot, pour over the Lettuce, stir a bit and then back to the TV to enjoy

And oh yes... That lettuce was so good and tasty! Sure will have to do that some more, a real Winner
Like they say... a real 'Taste of Home'... Them there good old days of yore

And so, another New Day to Conquer, and what will be the Adventure of the Day?

Tuesday Morning and pouring Rain early, two dark drab Days in a row... Gimmee some SUN!
Along with Sun, gimmee some winners, getting tired of this poverty episode... I want some Big Ones
Anyway, off to the Price Chopper to try again and again NO WINNERS, gimmee a break!

So what else to do on a dreary Day when penniless? Take a look at the Plants I guess
Lots of Buds on the Tomato Plants, two Basil Plants popped up in the new Pots in just three Days
Lettuce ready to pick again in the Salad AeroGarden, the Basil mostly all picked in the Herb AeroGarden
And still just Four Plants emerging in the newest AeroGarden but it's only been about a week now

~ First Pods in the Pots Popped up Tuesday ~ Planted Friday November 13 ~

And then, you could just about say that was all to Tuesday, just whiled away the rest of the Day
And so BORING with no Project, no Cooking Experiments, all these Tech Toys and still BORED!
Finished off my afternoon TV Session with more Pizza and it was about as good as when first out of the Oven
I hotted up a big slice in the Skillet and it was nice and Crispy on the bottom, not soggy like in the M/W

And so what for Wednesday? Well looks like I missed an Appointment with the Urologist
They sent a letter, I called for a new Appointment and I have to trot over to North KC for a PSA Test
After that, I'll stop in at the 'Minit Mart' for my Lottos and then see what there will be to see after that

~ Ever Onward and Upward ~

~ Another 'Point Trip' to Kmart ~
~ Made Pizza with my own Basil ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Monday Morning, Drab and Wet out there, not Raining but had been earlier
First a little Garden Maintenance, added Water to all, one Garden wanted Nutrient, clipped a little More Dill
And then off to Kmart again to spend more free Points, wanted new Bed Sheets
Hoo Boy! Got some that look like Red Satin! Be hard to keep from slipping out of Bed
And another Six Plug Adapter to rearrange my Garden Power cords, neaten it up some

Stopped back by the Price Chopper for some Lottos, only won a $5 Ticket, still in a slump
And so, thinking of using some of my new Basil to make a Pizza, back to the Price Chopper
Planning to make an almost real 'Margherita' style Pizza but going to cheat and add Italian Sausage too
So I got some Marinara Sauce, Mozzerella Cheese, some Pizza Dough and 'In Store' made Italian Sausage
Traded in that $5 Winner, bought another one and won back $15, only down $5 for the Day then

Spent some time unplugging and plugging in Power Cords for my Gardens, have Ten Cords for that
One each for the Four Gardens and then Six other for the Grow Lights for the other Plants
I wanted to be able to flip one Switch and start all Four Gardens at once so I wired them that way

And then on to Mid-afternoon and started on my Pizza, picked most all the big Basil Leaves
Then took the meat from an Italian Sausage out of it's Casing and browned it up nicely
Next, unrolled the ready made Pizza Dough, spread Marinara Sauce on top, then added the Sausage
Then the sliced Mozzerra Cheese to cover up and hide the Sausage... It's a 'Margherita' Pizza you know
Supposed to only be Basil, Tomato and Mozzerella Cheese on a proper one... (But I like a little Sausage)
Then layed out the Basil here and there, and sliced up the tiny Tomatoes and spread them around
Finished up by sprinkling on some of my Home Grown Basil, dried and crumbled for a final touch
Then into the Oven for about 15 Minutes and Meraviglioso! La mia Pizza Margherita!

~ My 'Faux' Margherita Pizza ~ With Home Grown Basil ~

And then I let that cool down and sipped my Margarita catching up on Paris, wish they would get over that
Then I had an early Dinner sampling my latest Experiment... And it was quite tasty but not my favorite Pizza
This is the Second Margherita Pizza I have made, I made one in January from Basil I grew in a Pot last Winter

~ My Margherita Pizza I Baked in January ~ With Home Grown Basil ~

My favorite Pizza though is a 'Loaded' one, and I have done that at Home too, but I tend to overdo it with Toppings
I like Sauce, Onions, Green and Black Olives, Green Peppers, Pepperoni and Sausage, and whatever else is handy
Oh yeah, throw some Mushrooms on there too... On My, now I will have to do that when I finish this one!

So that was Monday, dark and Gloomy all day, now Tuesday with pouring Rain at 6:30 a.m.
And what's on the Agenda today? As usual lately, not much, first back to the Price Chopper for more Lottos

Sunny and cool Sunday Morning, not too bad... 55 Degrees to start, and only crept up to 57 by Noon
A long morning, just doing Finances and stuff on the Computer, Bank Account didn't agree with my Journal
Not a lot but I like my Money Matters to all agree, poked around for some time, finally found it
A wrong entry here, and a Payment not paid there yet, but now all is well and I still want Pay Day

But two long weeks to go, and I am bored already with a long Sunday afternoon ahead
I did venture out earlier to the Price Chopper to buy $20 worth of Loser Lottos, in a slump again
That double Gas bill, which was actually doubled again sure didn't help any, they now show a $102 Credit
But that isn't money in the Bank that I can go waste on Lottos, just no Gas Bill for the next two Months

So Noon time.. and the Mornng all gone, but a long afternoon to find something to do
I did go out front for a little while and removed the old Netting from the Tomato Cage Ends
Now I will replace those Cage Ends with new Plastic Netting but not in the Mood for that yet
And I do have about five Months to work on those Beds before planting time

And again it was just an Afternoon repeat of Saturday, good Cocktail, good Snacks., good Dinner
Too much Paris on TV... And that was about it for Sunday... On to the New Week!

And... another Peek at the New AeroGarden, four of the newly planted Seed Pods are up and at 'em
Had to add Nutrient to one Garden and Water to all four, those plants are sure Thirsty!
A Red Light comes on when they need Nutrient, just have to check the Water visually
The new AeroGarden has a light that comes on when it needs water

~ Four of the New Plants Popped Up ~

And so, now Monday, usually my favorite Day, get rid of that long Weekend and back to Business
What to start? Another trip to Kmart to get rid of some more Free Points... CHARGE!

~ Ever Onward and Upward ~

~ Saturday November 14, 2015 ~

~ New Pots for more Seed Pods ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And what to do on a Sunny and warm Saturday? Many things I could do, but what do I want to do?
I want to win a Big Lottos is what I do wanted and headed out to 'Minit Mart' for it
And I might as well shudda stood in bed... NO WINNERS AT ALL!

So what else, first thing I saw my Lettuce needed more Water, been drinking up a lot lately
I have had to top it off every Day lately, then saw my Dill was almost touching the Grow Lamp again
So I snipped off a couple of the tallest stems, then into the Oven to Dry, Looks like some Basil ready too<
Got a whiff of that fresh snipped Dill, that stuff is sure Fragrant right off the Plant

~ Basil and Lettuce ~ Planted Wednesday ~ Popped up Saturday ~

And, checking the new AeroGarden, saw that two Seed Pods had come up already
Planted those Pods on Wednesday afternoon, two whole Days and here they are on Saturday Morning

And then, there wasn't much going on all the rest of Saturday, the start of a 'Lost Weekend' maybe
Just some Computering puttering, some Kitchen neatening, lots of afternoon TV with a Manhattan
Put a Burger and Bun out to thaw, snipped some Lettuce for my Burger, peeled some fries to Deep fry

~ Just Enough Lettuce Snipped for my Burger ~

A later unusual Margarita before Dinner, Dinner with TV and a Glass of Wine
And that finished off a rather quiet Sarurday, I don't expect this Sunday to be much more... Ho Hum
