~ Pay Day Saturday! ~
~ Baked Pumpkin Bread ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Third $100 Win for October ~ What can we do in November? ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Out Saturday into a Dark and Wet and Cool Morning, not as Cool as Friday though, was 50 Degrees
Sure no Soil hauling again for that Day, dark, dismal and muddy back up on the Hill
So off to the Price Chopper on a Happy Money Day at least and all Bills scheduled to be paid
And still some of those Winnings in my Pocket to try again, and I bought $25 worth
And lost on the first Five but won $25 on the last one, my favorite, back to even up

So then what? Bored outta my Gourd at 9 a.m. And a long drab Day ahead
Well, best way to get out of boredom is to start on another project, what's the Project for Saturday?
Well, I like to Smoke BBQ, Cook and Bake, what's to do Today? Almost out of that first Pumpkin Pie
So how about some Pumpkin Bread... That's easy, got plenty of Pumpkin... only takes one Cup

I had Three Packs of Pumpkin in the Freezer, two Two Cup Packs (for Pies) and one One Cup Pack
So I checked, I had everything I needed except some Walnuts, ran back to the Price Chopper for that
Then, mix the Dry Ingredients, then the Wet Ingredients, stir together then fold in the Raisins and Nuts
Then into a Loaf Pan and into the Oven to savor the Baking Aroma for an hour or so

And that was done by Noon-Thirty so then what? Gimmee something to do!

~ A Tempting Loaf of Fresh Baked Pumpkin Bread ~

Ok then, while nothing is going on, how about a check on the Indoor Winter Garden
Lessee, planted the first one on October 11, then Number Two about a Week later
And Number Three about a Week or so after that, and the Basil is doing the best, the Dill wants to fall over
And the Parsley in the first Garden still has it's 'Grow Crown' on, coming along very slowly

~ Basil, Dill and Parsley ~ Lettuce ~ Mighty Mini Tomatoes ~

There is a litle red light that comes on every couple weeks, indicates need to add Nutrient
The one on the Herb Bed came on last week, this Morning the Lettuce Bed Light was on
So I gave it a little more of the Grow Juice then made Coffee and on to the Computer and Sunday Morning

And... A new Month... Ohhhhhhhhh... Decenver just 30 Daya away?

~ Wednesday's Win ~ Much Needed Win Two Days Before Pay Day! ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And Friday was another Lucky Day, another $100 Win from the 'Minit Mart' first thing
The Second $100 Win on a MargaritaVille Card, the onew Wednesday was on a 'Win it All' Card
I scratched off one Number, and it said 'Win All' and that I did... Very nice!

Then I tried a few more Cards, won a couple little ones, no more Big Ones for the Day
Then some just puttereing around the rest of that COLD Day, the 50s aren't so bad
But those 30s don't quite make it for me, but it is that time of Year... Is it not?

And another look out front at the Plants still hanging on, some have already given up
One real Freeze and the rest will just curl up and give out like always

~ Last Flowers of the Year on the Way Out ~

A very very long afternoon, this time waiting for another World Series Game
I had watched the rest of the Wednesday Game on Thursday, wanted to see if could stay with Friday's Game
The Game finally took off a little after 7 p.m. and looked good for the Royals for a while
Then the Mets got a few Runs ahead and I gave it up and headed for Bed around 9 p.m.

Now Saturday Morning, I see my IBM Check hit the Bank, scheduled a few Bills and then off to the Day
Not a clue what to do... But I'll hang in there and try something, maybe another Ball Game tonight?

~ A Routine Day but still Busy ~
~ Still Searching for the Rainbow ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ A Very Much Needed Win Two Days Before Pay Day! ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

A Computer catch up Thursday Morning, then out to search for the End of the Rainbow
This time to the Price Chopper, had a $15 Win to cash in and bought $20 more, two of my Favorite one
And back then to pour my second Cup of Coffee, then scratched off a nice $20 Ticket and then a $5 Win
Not on either of my Favorite Tickets though... But a slight Profit anyway
So back to the Price Chopper to cash in my Fortune and get four more Tickets, Two... of my Favorite again

Lost three, won One more $20 Ticket, still have my $100 Win Wednesday left on Friday Morning
So plenty of Lotto Play Money for Friday and Pay Day Saturday, can't beat that situation

And a slow Day again after that, just a bit on the Cool side for heading out back and no hurry for that anyway
Things are going to get a little more boring as Winter settles in, I need another Hobby to keep me busy
But what now? I am gardening again but indoors... Taking photos when needed, no new Videos scheduled now
Cooking and Smoking Meat are other Hobbies but I cook too much and it isn't BBQ Season now... Ho Hum

Lottos are aother Hobby but a few Tickets and I am done for the Day, don't really need that big Winner anyway
I have all the Tech Toys I wanted and no need for all that I have now... So... Ho Hum

And so, I didn't watch all of Wednesday's World Series Game, just Inning One, so I played that back on my DVR
Knowing who would win, but it was entertaining anyway

So a couple Manhattans, some Snacks and a good Dinner, and that was it for Thursday, now what today?

Well... A Sunny Friday Morning but definitley on the cool Side, in the 30s... Brrrrr
Time to look for the End of the Rainbow all over again, first a peek at the Knock Out Roses
And they don't seem to mind the Cold.. so far, looking greater than ever this Year

~ My 'Knock Out' Roses don't know it is getting Cold ~

And off to the Price Chopper again, traded in a $20 Winner for $20 more and LOOKEE UP THERE!

The third $100 Winner of the Month and the second for that MargaritaVille Card... GREAT!
Great Start for the Day and the end of the Month!

~ One of the Few Tomatoes Left ~ And so Tasty! ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And what for Wednesday? Started on a couple Web Pages and a Video, did a re-edit on the Ghost Story one
I had a spelling error in one Sub-title and I don't like those things, even if no one would notice
I set the Video to re-upload and then I made a few changes in my Home Page, and then the Sanctuary Home Page
Finally got my Morning Routine all wound up and headed to the 'Minit-Mart' for my Lottos

Some pretty good luck on Two Days before Pay Day... a $105 Win, second $100 Win for October
Then I went to the Price Chopper to cash in my Winners, got some more, this time only a $5 Win

Took that $5 Winner back to the Fast Stop, added a $10 Bill, then won $15... my Money back anyway

Then a check on the Indoor Garden, the first Mighty Mini Tomato really grew overnight
And the Basil and Dill progressing but the Parsley far behind, One more Inch, then raise the Grow Lamp

~ First Tomato Plant on Tuesday ~ Then Wednesday Morning ~

~ Basil and Dill Looking Good ~ Almost time to raise the Grow Lamp ~

That was it, into a very long but pleasant Afternoon, made a nice Dinner, then on to the World Series
It had taken me TWO Manhattan Cocktails to last that long afternoon so I was getting sleepy early
So I just watched a couple Innings of the Ball Game amd then headed for bed for a long Night<
Now this Morning I see that the Kansas City Royals won the Second Game 7 to 1, doing great so far!

Now what today? Well first thing I saw that my last two Indoor Plants had popped up
All Nine Seed Pods have Germinated and now we can watch them grow

~ Last Two Tomato Plants Popped Up Thursday Morning ~

And yeah, two more days til Pay Day but now plenty of Lotto Money, let's go get some more Winners...

~ Number Seven Plant to Pop ~ First Mighty-Mini Tomato ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Tuesday Morning, Dark, Rainy and Dreary and Surgery ahead.. to dread... Again
Well it sounded dreadful over the Phone... Had a chioce, Incision and Stitches or Scrape and Freeze
But they said no lifting for several Weeks if I chose the Incision and Stitches... so whatcha think?
Well, I have Garden Soil and another Garden Bed to haul down the Hill so... Number Two

I headed over to KC Cancer Center at 8:15 a.m. always get there too early... but surprise!... got right in
Then a couple of questions... sign here... I'll go get Mary... And a short wait
She vame in.. How are you Donald? Old I say... What else... She started in, drew a circle on my Arm
Then she left, the Nurse took over, injecting the whatever numbing stuff, a couple tiny pricks was all
A short wait, then some Injecting, a couple more timy zaps, didn't faint yet... was doing OK

So she started out... and yes I sort of felt 'scraping'... no pain... didn't last long...
And then she got the Nitrogen Cannister and did the Freezing Sraying... No feeling at all
All done, she left.. the Nurse took over, a little Bandage and wrapped it up and I was done
So, it did sound dreadful but was really so easy... And later even when the numbing wore off, no pain

And so, back by the Price Chopper, needed Lottos and Cat Food, bought some Chicken Gizzards
Home to acratch off only $15, had some Biscuits and Gravy and then put the Gizzards on to simmer some
Then I cut them in pieces and saved the Broth to pour over the dry Cat Food, well... 'El Gato' seems to like that

And then close to 2 p.m. Time for that Manhattan and a TV Catch up... Ho Ho... Here we go again>
On through a long Afternoon, some Spaghetti and Sausage for Dinner and then the World Series
I sat and watched the Game and nibbled on little 'Snickers' Bars and sipped Vinno Tinto
Royals jumped ahead in the first Inning, then later the Mets caught up, they were ahead in the 9th Inning
So they usually lose if I watch to the end so I went to Bed about then
And this Mornng I see the Game went to 14 Innings and the Royals won! Great!

So on to another Day in Parkville, a little Video re-editing to start with and then what?

Off to another Day we go!

~ Down to the Coffee Shop for Show and Tell ~
~ Sampled my latest Pumpkin Pie ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Parsley Popped up Sunday Morning ~ Number Six AeroGarden Crop ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

A busy Morning Monday after a late start, was past 6 a.m. when I got up, and lots to do
I had called Sanctuary Director Bob Fluchel, Sunday afternoon to tell him the Video was finished
He invited me to Coffee Monday Morning, I thought I would take him a DVD of the Video

So, first I added the Video to the Parkville Nature Sanctuary Home Page
And then I added it to my Home Page and posted it on the Facebook Nature Sanctuary Page
Next started making extra Blu-ray DVDs of the Video for Bob and Lewis, then printed Case Labels
Finally got in the Shower and then was ready to head Downtown right at 9 a.m.

And Bob. Lewis and Dean were there, Greetings and Salutations, then I gave Bob and Lewis their DVD
We had some Chit Chat and then I popped out my Galaxy super Phone, got my Video from Vimeo going
Handed the Phone to Bob, he held it where the others could see it and they watched the entire Video
Then the Compliments, Bob said he thought was the best one I had done, well, it does look pretty good
It finished about 9:45 a.m. They had places to go, I headed up the Hill to the Price Chopper
I got my Lottos and headed Home, and won... just another dinky $5 Win, and I am needing a Big One about now

And then finally some Breakfast... I tried a slice of my Pumpkin Pie with Cool Whip, pretty tasty
They say to use the smaller Pumpkins for Pies, the Jack-O-Lantern big ones are bland and not as Sweet
I used to grow some called 'Spirit Pumpkin' and they did make really good Pies
And that Libby's specially grown reddish Pumpkin in the Can makes really good ones too
But the Pumpkins I got from Ghost Story night a couple times make what I thought were pretty good Pies
And also the Texture of a fresh Pumpkin is different, more coarse, and I kind of enjoy that also

Then on to a long afternoon with really not much to do, a let down after a few really busy Days
And on through the rest of that Sunny but Cool Day, nothing special, just trying to keep busy
I did notice that in one of my AeroGardens that the Aerator had stopped blowing bubbles
I was wandering how important that Aerator was and Emailed Miracle-Gro and asked if it was OK
Then I checked through their Site and read that it was necessary to keep the roots alive
So then I carefully took out the Plants, set them aside and operated on the Water Bin
Poured out the water, upended it and checked the Aerator Nozzle which seemed to be clogged
So I poked around with a very fine wire, thought I had it fixed and poured the Water and Nutrient back in
Set it back on the Base, plugged it in and it then bubbled away, still bubbling this Morning
And I noticed this Tuesday Morning, another Plant popped up, first of the Three Mini Tomatoes
That makes Seven of the Nine Plants that are up, the Basil and Dill really growing, the rest need to catch up

So that was Monday, now first thing, I'm heading to KC Skin and Cancer Center again, my second Home it looks like
Last time Mary found a Squamous Cell Carcinoma, have to go this morning for Surgery, not eager for that
Usually not as bad as I dread, hope this is another easy one... and off I go....

~ Baked a Ghost Story Night Pumpkin Pie ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Rescued from Ghost Story Night ~ Now More Pie ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And where was I? Oh yeah editing Video again, and about all Day Sunday, it did go pretty fast though
Didn't take much trimming between scenes, it went pretty smoothly from one take to the next
Finally I thought I had it ready, then burned a Blu-ray DVD to check out on my TV... ooops
I had one subtitle out of place and a missed uneven Camera take finish, fixed those and rendered the Video
Then the long, long upload to Vimeo, finished the final Render uploading about bed Time

While the first DVD was rendering and burning Istarted on the Pumpkin Pie, or -Pies- as it looks like
I had cleaned the Pumpkin and cut it into wide strips to Bake, into the Oven with that on a Cookie Sheet
Back to the Video stuff while that was baking, later out to cool and peel and chunk for the Food Processor
Then into the Pot to simmer a bit to make sure it was all cooked through... Next the Pie

I did make a quick run to the Price Chopper for a few things I didn't have to make the Pie
Then started on the 'Famous Libby's Pumpkin Pie' Recipe... Easy and quick... I had baked the Pie Shell a little
The Pumpkin Puree, some Sugar, Evaporated Milk, Eggs and then the Spices, Cinnamon, Ginger and Cloves
Mixed that up real smoothly and into the Crust and into the Oven for about an Hour

~ Pumpkin Ready for Pie ~ First Pumpkin Pie of the Season ~

After that, just the usual afternoon and long Evening with another Margarita and some Dinner
That was it for Sunday, already started on another Sunny bright and Fun Day today, gonna eat some Pie!

~ Ghost Story Night ~
~ To Video or Not to Video ~ That is the Question ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ See Mom ~ They all turned Red ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And so, that time again, how many Ghost Story Nights have I made a Video of, well several at least
I didn't Video the Pumpkin Carving Night this Year, wasn't planning on doing Ghost Story Day and Night either
But Friday Night I was looking through my Videos on Vimeo on my TV and watched last Year's Video
And I thought that I did a pretty fair Job at it, maybe I'll just wander over there and try again

So I did my Morning runaround, got my Lottos, no winners, decided to head over to the Nature Sanctuary
The Volunteers had started early, waviou projects underway, so I wandered around getting some Video
And I lucked out on getting a ride here and there, stuff there is rather spread out all over the place
I started out in the Picnic Area at the Entrance, then along the Haunted Trail being set up for the evening
Then I got a ride from Pat Harris to the old Root Cellar where they were setting up a 'Doctor's Office'
The Display was deep down the steep Stairway to the Cellar, I just took Video from the top Stair

~ Setting up the 'Doctor's Office' in the old Root Cellar ~

Then time to head up to the Cabin where they were setting up the Seating for the Story Telling
That's quite a job but they had lots of help, then soon it was time to head out for lunch

So then I got a ride back down the Hill from Marc Siebert, found my Blazer and headed Home to start on the Video
I was a bit thirsty so I oiled up the Video Editing works with a feshly mixed Margarita
And then the Editing went smoothly, got it Edited, Titled and added Music, copied it to a SD Card

Then I headed back to the Nature Sanctuary about 3:30 p.m. They were back at setting up
Nothing much else going on so I headed back home until about 5:30 p.m.then headed back as things were happening
The Haunting Volunteers were showing up, the Food Service setting up, only an hour til opening time
But people started showing up early and they were selling Tickets at 6 p.m. and the Food Service Starting

I trotted around here and there, getting Video of the Servng Line, the Picnic area, and the growing Crowd
Then the 'Haunted Trail' was opening and I walked the length of the Trail, getting some 'too dark' Video
I have my eye on a new Video Camera that should do much better at night scenes, I am accepting donations

And then it was about 7 p.m. I was expecting a ride from Director Bob Fluchel back up to the Cabin
That Trail is steep and Dark and I was too pooped by then to try it, but the Trail was crowded with People
Too dark and crowded for Bob to try to come back down for me so I sat at the Entrance waiting

And the people were still pouring in, the Ticket line backed up a half Block, the food line was overflowing
The Entrants numbered over 750 by then and they started running out of food, but People were still paying to come in

Finally about 8 p.m, Assistant Director Wayne Frazer came down in the 'EZ Go' to get me and back up to the Cabin
And... the crowd there was thinning by then, not long to the finish so I got very little Video of Story Telling
Also, the 'Shortleaf Band' was playing for the Event, I got very little Video of them that night
So I am taking the Liberty of adding some of their Performance there in 2013 to this new Video... Thank You!

~ Volunteers Waiting for a Ride Down the Hill ~

And so, the Event came to a close, the Crowd left, a few Volunteers then sat by the Fire in the Cabin
We were waiting for some rides back down the dark Trail to the Parking Lot and then Home

So, back home around 9:30 p.m. and then what? Well a Margarita, TV and hotted up some Dinner
And the latest stay up night watching TV of this Year... Ho Hummmm

Now Sunday, back to editing the Video and again I think this will be a pretty good one... Are you ready?
On to the Fun for this Day, I find some Fun in most every Day... while they last

~ Ever Onward and Upward ~

~ Dark and Wet Morning Friday ~
~ Got Some More Uphill Garden Work Done ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Third Plant to Pop Up in the Winter Garden ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Oh that Photo up there? Well I just picked that Green one on Monday, was hiding behind the Vines
I found it when I cut off all the Vines to clear out the Trellis in the Pot, give it a few more Days

Talk about 'dark and dreary'... that was Friday Morning for sure and all wet out there too
But looked like the Rain had stopped when I headed for the Price Chopper at 89 a.m.
I got my usual ration of Lottos and headed back to scratch off NUTHIN! And I could use a BIG one
I had a couple unusually BIG Bills this Month, next month should be some better

But what to do on a dark and dreary Day like that with s shortage of Play Money?
Just doodle around with this and that... sooooooooo... BORED! And with all these nice Toys
I was thinking of hauling some Soil but cool, dark and wet out there

Then another look at mt Garden, I took that first Photo at 6 a.m Friday, look how they had grown by Noon on Friday!
You can almost see them growing, wonder how long until I can harvest some of them? Betting the Basil is first

~ Photo at 6 a.m. Friday ~

~ Photo at Noon Friday ~ Fifth Crop (center) Popped Up ~

So, about Noon-thirty it cleared up some, even almost a little hazy Sun, headed up the Hill to dig
Tried to take it easy, wasn't muddy up there though, not much moisture after all overnight
So I loaded up the AeroCart with a load of Soil, trycked it down to the Cucumber Bed
Dumped it in and went back up for another and then one more, almost all of the good Soil moved then
Maybe one more Load later and then fill the rest up with new Topsoil, get a good start next Spring

~ Cucumber Bed looking Good, some more to Go ~

After I clean up that old Cucumber Bed a little, then I'll finish diassembly of the Tomato Bed
It is looking a bit trashy up there for the present, I'll get it neater then start bringing down the Tomato Bed

~ The War Zone ~ The Grow Zone ~ One more Bed Move to Go ~

Hey Hey! Time to cool down with a Manhattan then start work on 'What's for Dinner' I have an idea for that
I still have some of those 'Omaha Steaks' Burgers and I set one one to Thaw, and a big Bakery Bun
And a home grown Tomato and some Sweet Onion and a Russet Potato to Deep Fry later... Ahhh Yeah, I love to Cook!
And then on to my afternoon TV catch up... And sip, sip, sip...

~ The Last Little Eggplant of the Season ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Thursday, what for the Day? maybe get back up on that Hill and haul some more Soil down?
Haven't been up there for over a Week now, but still lots of time to complete that Project
Anyway, first thing, go find some Winners, headed for the Minit Mart (Kicks 66)
Traded in my dinky $5 Winner for $20 more, back home to win only another dinky $5

And I didn't get out and up the Hill, just out front to empty the Eggplant Pot of Soil
Then loaded the Vines from the Tomato Plant and hauled that up to the Dumpster, in with old Pot and all
And with emptyimg the old Cucumber and Eggplant Pots I had just enough Soil to fill the two new big Pots

Looks like already I am planning my Gardens for next Year when I wasn't all that sure there would be a next Year
I guess there will be if you think there will be, I am not quite ready tu run off yet

And... another plant popped up in my Indoor Garden, one tiny emergence of 'Paris Island' Lettuce
I thought there was one in the center Pod but it was just a seed laying on top I guess
The Basil and Dill in the first Pot are looking good, no activity in the third Pod there

~ Lettuce in the Third Pod popped up Friday ~

And so.. what for Friday? Try again to make it up the Hill in back, nothing else on the Agenda
Unless I win a BIG Lottos and have to go to the Independence Office to cash it (I WISH)

Oh well.. off to the Races again

~ Planted Cherry Tomatoes on Wednesday ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Wednesday Morning... This must be Parkville? Well it is where I went to Bed anyway
Now what to do today? No more Tapes to Convert... Oh yeah... I converted a couple of mine
When I get in the mood, I'll have to check them out to see if I can get any old Photos I want off them
And.. yes, I am waiting for a Message from Walmart saying to come and get it... that third Aerogarden
I thought that first one would be fun, well it has been, and so I got another, but then I wanted to try Tomatoes
That Model comes with three 'Gourmet Herb' Seed Pods, I wanted something different so I ordered 'Heirloom Salad Greens'
And then Mini Cherry Tomatoes for the third Garden that comes today, (I hope)... That should be enough fun for now
And now I also have the two extra Herb Seed Pod Kits that came with number Two and Three

Then off to the Price Chopper, I thought I had only a $5 Winner to trade, but I also had $20 from Tuesday
So I traded Rion that $25 for $20 more and stuck the Five in my Pocket, then won $30 more
Back to trade again for $20 more, stuck the extra Ten in my pocket and then only won $5

And just a GORGEOUS Morning outside again, went out front to unpot some Plants, stuff dying out
I dug out the Roots to the Tomato Plant, too deep to pull, tossed the Plant, then started on the Egglant Pot
First I picked that little fat Eggplant up there, the last of many little Tasty Morsels
Not sure if that one will be edible but I thought I would try it later for Dinner, would make a couple bites

Then I dug up the Plant, tossed it in the Pile and began taking out the Potting Soil, to add to a new Pot
This is the second of my Pots to 'wear out' and replace with those two big new Pots I bought

So, checking my Phone and Email about every fifteen minutes, looking for my 'Come and Get It' message from Walmart
Finally got it on my Phone about 1 p.m. headed North for Walmart, picked up my Package and headed Home
Unpack and assemble, it's a snap, then fill with Water, a few drops of Nutrients, add the Seed Pods
Place it on the Shelf with the other Two and plug it in, now... When do we get a Tomato?

~ One More Aerogarden Planted ~

So that was that, time for a Margarita and TV and then Dinner, the last of those Omaha Steaks from the Lottery
Some more of that Caulfower with Butter and Cheese... yummy, and I crusted up and fried that litle Eggplant
Then I finished off the Day mirroring my Phone to the TV and also my Laptop HDMI cabled to the TV
I was telling Google to play stuff from You Tube... FUN! Then operating my Laptop with a remote Mouse and Keyboard
I was accessing Data on my Dell Desktop from my Laptop hooked to the TV and playing it on the TV
With my LAN I can access any of my Computers from any other and run Programs and play Music and Movies on the Computers
And then play them back on the TV, really amazing what you ca do with Hight Tech today... I LOVE IT!

~ 4 p.m. Wednesday ~ From my Favorte Spot on the Couch ~

Now off to Thursday, what can we dig up today for fun?

And where was I anyway? Back to the Videos for a little bit... Finished up the last next to longest one
I thought I would ask Pat later if she really wanted that 'Lonesome Dove' tape, would take about eight DVDs!
Well it took about all day one Day just to convert it, they don't know when to quit
Anyway I finished up all but two Tapes, one would not play correctly... had blamk spots
And then I didn't burn that 'Lonesome Dove' to DVD after all, packed up the Gear... all done

So I finally headed out to the Price Chopper for my Lottos, won a $5 and a $15, got my money back anyway
And later I packed everything up in the Blazer for delivery whenever, and headed back to the Price Chopper
I saw Pat's Garage Door open on the way to the Store, stopped in to check, she was working on Halloween
She takes a lot of stuff up to the Cabin for the the Nature Sanctuary Ghost Story Night

So I stopped in, we had some Chat, then we carried in her Tapes, those Thirty DVDs and her VCR Player
And... HAH! She gave me some of that world Famous El Pato Salsa! She gave me some of that Jalapeno before, it is GREAT!

~ Another Gift of Salsa from Pat ~ HAH! My Own Brand! ~

And then on to the Price Chopper.. shuddda stood at Home, only won a $5 this time, well... always Tomorrow?
And then... what to do about that latest 'Upgrade' that Downgraded my Computers, almost unusable then
I got online to Chat with Microsoft, she triedto give me some tips, well I already knew them but didn't want to try
There is a 'Rollback' feature on the Upgrade Build but it says you could lose your Programs and I didn't want to try it

But I couldn't find any other Fix so I tried it, was fast and easy, like they say... and it worked and I didn't lose anything
Now I have all three Desktops up and running speedy as usual... GREAT! The next Upgrade I'll try on just ONE Computer first

And then... Margarita and Dinner assembing time, had some Red Cabbage all prepared in the Fridge
I boiled a Potato, skinned it, split it, added Salt, Pepper, Butter, and chopped Onions, and a huge Omaha Steaks prize Hot Dog
Mustard on the Hot Dog then covered until Dinner time, then into the Nuker for what just might be some GOOD?

~ That Dill Plant on Wednesday Morning ~

Again, Dinner and TV finished up another Busy Day, maybe the new Planter comes Today?
I have the Tomato Pods here now, just need the Aerogarden and now... is that the last one?

And... Another Computer Glitch on Sunday I didn't mention... the Latest 'Insider' Windows 10 Build
I haven't really had any problem with Windows 10 since I installed my first 'Preview' in January
But I noticed a new Update Notice on Sunday so I started my two Dell Desktops installing it
And the install was strange from the start,. long pauses with a blank Screen, then it would start again
But I was busy burning DVDs on the old Dell Desktop and it didn't slow me down

When I did finally try to do something on either of the Dells after the upgrade, both were SLOW!
And extremely slow, worse than using Windows XP with 2 GB of RAM with a slow processor
One Dell came up with a notice that I was LOW on Memory... with 16 GB of RAM? What went wrong?
This upgrade was a real DOWNGRADE and I don't know yet how to fix it... This just will NOT do!

But then back to the HP Desktop and my DVD burning, making good progress early on Monday Morning
I was winding up my Morning Computer session about 7:45 a.m. and got a Call from Lewis at the Coffee Shop
He says are you coming down?... You are invited to Coffee... Bob Fluchel had invited me Sunday night also
So I told him I would jump in the Shower and be down soon... I sacked up two Tomatoes, Headed down about 8:30 a.m.

Lewis was in his usual spot, Bob Fluchel beside him, Dean Jerningan on the other side
So then... Greetings and Salutations, I joined the Party, gave Lewis his Tomatoes, told him they were the last
And so, on with the usual gab fest until they all had to leave, I headed to Kicks 66 for Lottos
I suppose I will have to start calling them 'Minit-Mart'... It is Kicks 66 no more, they changed owners

And then back to el Ranchito and Breakfast and scratched off a dinky $5 winner, then back to the DVD burnng
And the end finally in sight, I had burned Twenty-seven DVDs so far, maybe Ten more to go
I was down to the LONG Tapes, two took Four DVDs to copy and one took Three, and the longest one still ahead

So I kept on until only One left, then took a break, outside to chop down the Tomato Plant in the Pot
I thought I had picked all of them off there but found one more nice one... and it IS the last

~ 'Big Boys' Tomato Plant in the Pot all Gone ~

Then Margarita and TV time, and another look at the Basil and Dill, the Dill getting with it now
Just peeked up Sunday, out of the Pod on Monday... Just checked it again this Morning, Tuesday
And the Dill was just at the top of the 'Grow Dome'...They say take them off just at the Plant reaches it<
Now the Dill is taller than the Basil, be a Day or two before the Basil hits the Dome

~ The Dill and Basil on Monday ~

So a really tasty Dinner and that was all for Monday... Now back to the DVDs... FINISHED TODAY!

And hard at work? on Sunday Morning... Nah, play time for me, fun to do Video Stuff
I started at 6 a.m. and Four DVDs edited and burned by 8 a.m and working on number Five
I had to split the long ones into two or more edits and then burn each to a DVD
I left the longer ones until last, the first Ten were singles, Pat's Christmas Tape took Three DVDs
And that was without Editing, adding Music or Titles, I already did a Blu-ray DVD and SD card of that one
She doesn't have a Blu-ray Player yet but can play it to her TV from the SD Card in her Laptop

~ Pat's DVD Case ~ Blu-ray DVD and SD Card ~

And I had some Biscuits and Sausage Gravy and then headed out for my Lottos, to the Price Chopper again
Back home then to scratch off a $40 Wiunner... Nice, my money back plus $20 for tomorrow's Lottos
Stopped back by the Mail Box... My new AeroGarden Seed Pods were there, another something to do
This time Heirloom Salad Greens, whatever they are, got them into the new AeroGarden right away... Now wait some more
But I did see that a couple very tiny Dill Seedings had popped up overnight, now the Thyme next?

~ Heirloom Salad Greens Seed Pods to Plant ~

And then on to the rest of the Day, mostly editing the longer Tapes and then burning DVDs
Started on the longer ones... One taking four DVDs and six more like that or longer left to go
Finally took a break for a Margarita and a TV catch up and then find something for Dinner
Then off to Bed and tomorrow, Monday, back the DVDs again

~ 'Wondershare DVD Creator' Worked it all Day Saturday ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And that is about all I did on Saturday, work on converted Tapes and then Burn DVDs
Abd then starting on them again Sunday at 6 a.m. Had trouble with some long running Tapes
They fit on those Tapes OK but when converted to .MP4 they were too big a File to burn on one Disk
I got ten of the shorter Tapes recorded to DVD but ten more long ones to go... How ya do that?
I tried several ways, try to convert to asmaller Media size... Nope, .MP4 is smallest best
Well now, Split them on my Video Editor and Burn to two or more DVDs, Tried that Sunday Morning

And it worked! Wah Lah! And I had plenty of blank DVDs to use... And that gives the watchers a break
After Part One they can get up to change the DVD and go get another Bag of Popcorn

~ Burning 'Pure Country' Part Two DVD ~

On Saturday, one losing foray to the Price Chopper for Lottos then pick up a few necessities abd back to the Tapes
That was pretty well it for the Day, dished up some Roast Beef with Gravy and Butter and Cheesy Cauliflower
Some late TV and Glass of Vino Tinto and off to Dreamland for more of them there detailed Dreams
I get into some interesting siutations then, wish I could record them, more interesting than many of my Days

Well... back to the Tapes... the End is now in sight.. Maybe Today?

~ Cool and Sunny Day ~
~ Pat's Vidoes all Converted ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ My Hydroponic Garden just Doubled in Size ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And a busy Night afer a busy Day on Thursday, I put a Tape on to Convert when I went to Bed
Later I woke up, checked the Tape, all done so I put on another, later did it again, twice
And I started again early on Friday Morning, One working at 7 a.m. and only five left to go, then burn the CDs
And what on the Agenda for Friday? No plans, just see how it goes, my Phone Case coming, maybe
And more six more Seed Pods for my Indoor Garden next Tuesday they say, some Mini Tomatoes and Salad Greens

So, on to the Video Tape Conversions... Making great headway, only three to go at Noon Friday...
Then burn about 19 more DVDs... But thats quicker than converting, over 40 Hours to do those 20 Tapes
But, it would be nice to have DVD Envelopes for the DVDs, off to Office Max for a pack of 50 for $6.50, not bad

Back out and up the Hill to pick the last of the 'Better Boys' Tomatoes, ten little green ones still on the Vine
I picked those, last of the Season... Then back to the Front to pick the last two Big Boys Tomatoes
And then, back in to start on making some Green Tomato Relish, hadn't done that for a couple Years

~ Ten 'Better Boys' Tomatoes ~ Two 'Big Boys' Tomatoes ~ And Now Tomato Relish ~

I checked online for Relish Recipes, though I have made it before, sometimes I need some hints
And it does come out different most every time, this time was very suitable to my taste... Yeah!
I don't follow all the Recipes closely, I make my variations as I get Ideas, it is mostly all edible
So I started chunking and grinding in my Food Processor, all those green Tomatoes plus a few more
Then Celery, Green Pepper, Onion, Vinegar, Sugar, Salt, Mustard Seed, Celery Seed... what else?

All in the Pot to simmer a bit and then into the Jars, made a little over a Jar and a Half<
Next cooled and into the Fridge for whenever and whatever you use Relish for, Burgers, Hot Dogs?

Then on to finish out the Day, and it was an up and down Day, Felt better in the Morning
And then on and off with whatever was ailing me all Day, seemed that Aspirin helped some
And so what's for Dinner? I started on that Potato Soup again, I had to toss out the start I made on Thursday
But this time I got it all finished and ready, but back to the TV and started feeling bad again
So I put the Soup in the Fridge and gave up and off to Bed early again

Now, Saturday Morning, not feeling too bad to start, wish whatever this is would go away
I think if I went to the Doc he wouldn't have a clue with my weird Symptoms, so... wait a bit

Now off to another Weekend, maybe it's time to find that Pot of Gold... Where's the Rainbow?

~ Orange Trees now Inside for the Winter ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And so, 1 p.m. on Thursday now... Waiting for a call from Walmart to come and get my second Aerogarden...
And been busy since 5 a.m. on the Computers... that is PLURAL... Computers
Checked my Email, the Bank, Facebook, played Crosswords and what else on the Dell One Desktop
Converting VHS Tapes continuously on the HP Desktop, did Eight so far, working on Number Nine now
And on the Dell Two Desktop, finishing Wednesday's BLOG, then more Video Editing
Strange things happening, the Converted file is small but after Editing and Rendering, way too big for a DVD
Something in the way my Sony Vegas Editor is set up is doing that and I don't know why

Anyway, I got Pat's Christmas Video Edited with Titles and Music and burned a Blu-ray DVD
And did a trial playback on my TV, looks a bit better than the tape did
But what about all the rest of those Movies and Shows on her other Tapes, converted to .mp4
I won't need to edit them on my Sony Vegas Video Editor, just burn them to DVD... But how?
I got online and ordered another Program, easy to Convert and Burn .mp4 Files to DVD they say
And I downloaded and tried it and it works as those Conversions are all less than 4.7 GB and will fit on a DVD

And so, I checked my Indoor Garden, Lookee there!, a Basil Plant popped up already
The Seed Pod Label says germinates in 6 to 12 Days... I don't mind a pre-emergence... What's next?

~ Basil Planted October 11th ~ Popped up on October 15th ~

So getting close to 2 p.m. and no Phone Call or Email about my Store Pickup, so I called them
She said she would look... yeah, it's here... Come and get it, so I set out at 2 p.m.
I am on the far West Side of Kansas City North, this Walmart is on the far East Side
Lots of Traffic on that Route but it moves pretty good, I was there in Twenty Minutes
Then Inside for five Minutes, back out to the Blazer, headed back, back in Parkville at 2:55

And then just popped open the Box, did the simple assembly and set it in place, now... Twin Gardens
But I didn't plant yet, that Model comes with the 'Gourmet Herb Garden', I want something different
So I now have on Order a 'Mighty Mini Tomato' 3-Pod Seed Kit and a 'Heirloom Salad Greens' 3-Pod Seed Pod Kit
And I have that 'Gourmet Herb' set of Pods for later, I want to plant the Tomatoes and later the Salad Greens

And then on into a late afternoon Cocktail and TV News catch up and 'What's for Dinner?'
Well, 'What's for Dinner' was NOTHING! I don't usualy report my moans and groans but I have some
I thought I would make some Potato Soup, started on that, and also started feeling very uneasy
So what is this? I just gave up early and went to Bed, whatever it was pretty well went away overnight
So now, I am starting on what may be my last Video Copying Day of Pat's VCR Tapes... Already started

~ A Few Good Lotto Wins ~
~ Still Converting Tapes ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Opening Title for Pat's Converted Chistmas Tape ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And another Good Morning, Sun again and not too cool, and going to a perfect High of 76 Again
Started the Day loading in another Tape to Convert, this time 'Lonesome Dove', looks like it takes a WEEK to watch
I set it going about 7 a.m. and then it was still converting at 10:45 a.m. Hey Hey! I have more to copy!
I had several nice ripe Tomatoes so I decided to take them down to Lewis, he was at his usual spot
I gave him the Tomatoes, got his thanks and left, someone was there I didn't want to talk to... (shhhhhhhh)

And then I headed to the Price Chopper to get $20 worth of Lottos out of the Machine
Back home for a second Cup of Coffee and scratch... And I won a $15, $15 and a nice $25, a little Profit there
So back to see Rion again and cash those in, get $20 more, this time only won a $5... But... still ahead
Finally that extra long Tape finished, I reloaded Pat's Christmas tape, wanted to try something different

And, on Tuesday, was thinking that if one Indoor Garden was good, two would be better, raise another Crop
So I got online to Walmart, ordered another one, ready for pickup on Thursday, no Shipping charge
And... the Garden out front is slipping away bit by bit, thought I would bring in the Orange Trees
There was room for them on the Bottom Shelf if I raised the middle Shelf So I did that
Then I installed four of the Grow Lights I had on the big Shelf there last Winter
I planted those Orange Seeds inside in January this year, they grew some over the Summer. maybe they will like it back inside now

Back to the Video Editing, I made a Copy of the Edit that I started with the first conversion of Pat's Tape
Then I copied the Video the second time in 6 X 9 aspect Ratio, think that might look better on a DVD
So I edited the second Copy, took quite awhile, then tried to burn it to a DVD, it was too long!
How did a 2 Hour and 54 Minute VHS Tape become so long you couldn't get it on a 4.70 GB Disk?, well it says 5.14 GB now
Well, I suppose because it saves the conversion to .MP4, then I converted that to .mpg for the DVD
And that made a larger File, so to get it all on one Disk I burned it in Blu-ray, played it back on my TV

And it looks about as good as I can get it for now... But Pat doesn't have a Blu-ray Player (yet)
So Thursday Morning (today) I re-edited it to make a Part One and Part Two, I'll burn it to Two DVDs then
And now I have six of her Tapes converted and am converting Number seven now on my HP Desktop

Now I can start editing the 'junk' they add to those VHS Tapes and then burn them to DVDs on my Dell Number Two
No hurry, they will just go back in a box and wait until someone might want to play them, just saved for History now

So what else for Thursday? my second Indoor Garden has been shipped, waiting for the call to go pick it up
Looks like another fairly busy Day... Huh?
