~ One More Hot Day ~
~ Cooked Sausage ~ Made Biscuits ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ 'Big Boys' Tomato Plant at Four Feet ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

No plans for Tuesday, all Missions planned for Monday accomplished, maybe just putter around?
Didn't go to the Fast Stop for Lottos Monday so I headed there, traded in a $15 Win and $5 Cash
Back home to scratch off $20 in Winners, was even up then... Then I lost the next $20 worth
So back two more times to the Fast Stop, not thinking I could lose four in a row on my Favorite ticket
And this time I did better, getting a $5, $6, $10 and a $15, that's ammo for tomorrow's Tickets

And so, was thinking about tomorrow's (Wednesday) Breakfast, getting too much Pie lately, how about Sausage and Eggs?
I can make better Sausage and Egg Sandwiches than you can buy at the Store, so back to the Price Chopper
I needed Sausage for the Meat and Buttermilk for the Biscuits to make Sandwiches, the Sausage on a nice Sale
And back home to finish out the afternoon with TV, Cooking and later feed the Cat and 'What's for Dinner'

When I got in the mood I went out to the Kitchen to fry up two pounds of Sausage into 8 big Pattys
Then mixed up a batch of dough for Buttermilk Biscuits, ended up with 10 good sized ones
Let the Pattys and Biscuits cool and packaged the Biscuits in a Baggie for later
Then packaged up 6 Sausage Pattys for the Freezer and 2 for the Fridge, all ready now

~ Sausage Ready for Breakfast Sandwiches ~

So Today, this Wednesday Morning, I'll head down to the Coffee Shop, see if Director Bob is there
I'ss take my Laptop to show and tell him about the Change in the Parkville Nature Sanctuary Web Site
And I have that latest little Tomato to give to Lewis, he does like them

Then I'll stop by Kicks 66 on the way back, get my Lottos and head home for 'Brunch'
I'll try one my newly manufactured Biscuit, Egg and Sausage Sandwiches and then get on with the Day

~ New Parkville Nature Sanctuary Site Up and Running ~
~ Another Chat Session at the Coffee Shop ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ One More 'Better Boys' Tomato ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And the new Web Site all finished before 6 a.m. and what to do until Coffee Shop time?
Well check the online Bank, work a couple Crosswords, finish my BLOG, always something
And then off to Downtown at 8 a.m. Lewis was there alone, so we had a little Chat time alone
I caught him up on the Arabia Marker dedication and the Nature Web Site change
And then Mark, a Sanctuary Volunteer and another I hadn't met before came in to join us
Then Mark left and another regular, Dean Jernigan arrived, actually he is President of the new FOPNS
That is 'Friends of Parkville Nature Sanctuary', a Not for Profit organization just set up recently

And so on with the lengthy Chat Session, I demonstrated the new Web Site, played a couple Videos
Just an all around 'Show and Tell' Session all over again, we finally broke up around 10 a.m.

Than I headed to the Price Chopper for my Lottos, won nothing.. Oh well, back to try again
And this time won $20... and was back to even up... Went back to trade once more, only won $10 this time
So I won $155 on Saturday and $108 on Sunday, still ahead of the Game so back to Kicks 66 to try one more trade
Well, lessee, losing count of what and where, hit the Price Chopper twice, Kicks 66 twice
And along the way I won a $10, $15, $15, and a $20... So a Win of $60 but still no profit
Did nice on Saturday, Won $155, Sunday $108, Monday $60... still might be some Profit in there
But that is not the name of my Game, I am looking for that elusive BIG ONE!... and SOMEDAY!

So at a little after 1 p.m. Temp at 94 and Sunny... Baby... It's HOT out there!
Time to mix another Margarita and kick back with the TV, then figger what's for Dinner, lots of stuff in the Freezer

But... I did go back out at the hottesr time of day, but the Plant was in the shade...
And I placed a stake in the Tomato Pot again, as last year the one in there then grew to over six feet
I only got a total of seven usable Tomatoes from that experiment, and I didn't like them anyway

Anyway, off to the new HOT Day, no plans, let's just have some fun!

~ Tied up the Tomato Vines ~
~ Some Heavy Duty Web Site Work ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ One More $100 Lotto Winner ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

OK, Sunday and my Computer puttering done about 8:30 or so, then up the Hill in bright Sunshine
And getting very warm already, was at 86 at Noon yesterday, maybe more for Sunday
The Tomato Vines had grown quite a lot and needed tying up again, at the top of the Cage now
That didn't take very long, then I harvested the third 'Better Boys' Tomato from there
Not very much of a Crop from that Bed this Season, I'll take this one to the Coffee Shop for Lewis

~ Tied up the Tomatoes Again ~ Now at the Top of the Cage ~

Back in the house at 9:30, time to shower and start my daily search for Wealth, armed with that $100 Win from Saturday
This time I headed to the Fast Stop first, I won that big one at the Price Chopper
And so I won a few.. Not such a bad Day... I won a $3, $5, $5, $15, $20, $20 and a nice $40... Total I think, $108
Well I didn't win them in that Order but I did win 'em all, and I think I made a profit...
Too much keeping track of the losers... But I hit the Fast Stop, the Price Chopper and Kicks 66
And got to chit chat with all the nice people I talk to there... Just simple FUN for me

Was up to 91 by 2 p.m. in Parkville and felt every bit of it... I mixed a Margarita to work my first 'Margaritaville' Lotto
And I sipped that while scratching off a $15 Win on that ticket, went back to the Price Chopper to trade
And then finished the Margarita and winning another $20 on that one! OLE!

And that was enough of that for the Day.. Quit while I was ahead for once... Off to a hot afternoon
And on the way back in on the last foray I saw a couple plants looking thirsty and my Fountain ran out of water
So that meant hooking up the Hose and giving everything out front a good long drink

That was the outside work for the Day. well I should say 'activity' ... I don't call it 'work'
So then I got online to set up a new Web Site for the Parkville Nature Sanctuary
I have two Domains for my own Web Site, I used one for the Nature Sanctuary, I wanted to move it to another Domain
It was then a .net URL and I got online and ordered a new .com Domain for that Site, now completed
So I paid for that one for the next Year, then what turned out to be the tricky part, signing on to the FTP upload
I have been using the same FTP Program for my Sites forever, but I needed the Customer ID and Password for the new one
And it is not the same as the ones used to sign on to 1&1 Web Hosting, my Web Host, hard to find on their page (for me)
So after three calls to Customer Service and trying to understand those Foreigners they have, I finally figured it out
And, I woke up at 1:30 a.m. Monday Morning thinking about it, got up and started in on moving the Web Site

Mixed my Apple Juice, put the Coffee on and started out, finally got signed on to my FTP Upload with the new Site
Then I needed to upload all the Files that were on the old site to the new one and that took quite a while
And had to make a few changes in the Sanctuary Index page and to my own Home Page to indicate the link to the .com URL
Finished all that up by 4:30 a.m and then what? Well upload this BLOG and work some Crosswords
Then maybe go down to the Coffee Shop to tell anyone and everyone about the new Web Site... Such FUN this is!

~ Coffee Time with the Sanctuary Gang ~
~ Then Working on the Arabia Marker Video ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ More Steamboat Arabia Video Thursday ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

So... I finally finished editing and uploading the Video of the Nature Day Camp on June 10th
I usually edit, upload and post the Nature Sanctuary Event Videos in just a couple Days
But this one was a little tricky using Video from two Camera and I kept losing interest
So Thursday Mornng when I was waiting to go take Video of the Arabia Marker Dedication I finished it
Then I burned a Bluray DVD for Director Bob Fluchel to deliver on Friday at the Coffee Meeting
And now posting here for the Nature Sanctuary People who might want to see it

And so, Friday Morning Bob said he would be at the Coffee House on Friday Morning so I headed down
They already had a full Table but I found a place to join in, and then more kept Coming
And then kept moving over more Tables and Chairs for all the Gang, quite an interactive Chat
I gave Bob his copy of the Day Camp Video, then played it on my Phone, he took the Phone to watch
Then he played the entire Video, also showing it to Dean Jernigan's Grandaugher sitting next to him

We finally ran out of char after a couple Hours, and left for out various destinantions
And of course me for my Lottos, a very unprofitable Day, winning back nothing

And then back tothe Arabia Video again, worked on it on and off most all Day, still not quite finished but close
I might have it finished and upoaded today (Saturday) and post it then or on Sunday
Other than that... What's for Today, no clue yet... Oh yeah... first run up the Hill in back
I have been watching a couple of nice Cucumbers up there, just might be ready to pick this morning

And so, on with my Shoes and up the Hill I go.. full report and Photo later (of Course)

~ Steambat Arabia Marker Dedication ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ More 'Little' Big Boys Tomatoes on the Way ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The usual start on Thursday Morning, Coffee, BLOG then Running around for Lottos
Then putter around Home until time to head down to English Landing Park, the Dedication set for 2 p.m.
I had to wait awhile to get over the Train Tracks down town, really long Train passing
I left about 1:30 p.m. Thought I would be a little early but the Train almost made me late
I met Pat Harris at the Entrance to the Park, a good thing... I had a load to carry and a Mile to go
She lugged my heavy Canon DSLR and I had my big Tripod and the lighter Video Camera

~ Walked about a Mile Down the River ~

Well they could not have had the Dediction much farther from the entrance, that's a long trot for me
The last time I was that far into the Park I was on my Bicycle and on Thursday I was about worn out when I got there
But I was plenty early, they were still getting set up and the Dignitaries were not all there yet

~ TV News Covering the Event ~ Channel 4 and Channel 9 News

I set up my Video Camera on the Tripod then wandered around getting more footage wth my Canon DSLR
Later when I edited the Video I added some scenes from the DSLR to the Video Cam Scenes

So the Hawleys arrived and they got the Presentation on the way, I got my Video then the long trot back
And I was about all trotted out when we headed back, we took the Riverside trail back
And rested and chatted on about every other Bench on the way and I had all the hiking I wanted and more

I loaded my Gear in my Blazer just outside the Park, then Pat headed to her Truck and off to home we went
Back home, I just mixed my Manhattan, loaded my Video in the Computer, found some dinner and expired for the Day

Well then I did happen to catch the News and there was the Ceremony on Channel 4, I hit 'Record' on the DVR
So Friday Morning I played it back on My Computer TV Tuner and got a Video I could upload to Vimeo and show here

And that was all of Thursday, posting this a bit late and I'll get on to all the great Events on Friday!

~ Now another Rainy Day ~
~ Not Much Going On ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Another Rhubarb Harvest ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Wednesday Morning, first thing checked my Bank Online... Now what? Says now $3,500 over my actual Balance!
On the Account page it lists a deposit of that $5,000 wrongly charged to my Biller
I am sure they will catch and correct that but for now it sure looks good in there

So, really nice Weather on Tuesday, very cool morning, then some sun, warmed up, but stayed under 80 Degrees
Now Wednesday Morning, Raining again and 64 Degrees and they say a high of 68, now that is Cool for July for sure

Off to the Price Chopper in the Drizzle, in for a few items, out to head to Kicks 66
Bought $20 worth of Scratchers, Home to scratch off $20 in Winners, that won't do, have to try the Fast Stop
Traded for $20 more there, won back $15, that's no profit... I don't know when to quit when I am ahead

The rain backed off a little and I did some more tying up of the Tomato Plant out front
And saw three more tiny Tomatoes on there, my Tomato Crops aren't doing so good this year
But we have a couple more Months for them to catch up, if they will, that is

~ Cucumbers ~ Tomatoes ~ Eggplant ~

Not much happening the rest of the Day, another Margarita, Afternoon News, evening Cocktail
Then Dinner and Netflix... is all there is? Oh well... Today another Video Project
They are going to present a 'Steamboat Arabia' marker dedication in English Landing Park today (Thursday)
I want to see if I can get some Video to add to the one I have of the previous event on the River
Pat Harris called to see if I was going, I was planning to, so I will meet her there
Then I can bug people with that Video again after I add to it

Off we go... into the wild Blue Somewhere

~ Finished the Pumpkin Page Finally ~

~ My First Better Boys Tomato for Lewis ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Sunny and really Cool for Tuesday Morning and I wanted to run up the Hill to check things
Everything looking OK, the Cucumbers looking great, I have my Eye on one at the Back of the Cage
A couple back there that might be ready in a couple more Days, only about four more Tomatoes though

Then on the way back in, saw that the Rhubabrb needed to be thinned, the stems fall over if you don't harvest them
Then inside to rinse it, cut it and put it in with the rest in the Freezer Bag, plenty for another Pie

~ This One needs a couple more Days ~

Then I checked my Bank, still over $3,000.00 short... Where's my Money?... Well they are working on it
Then I headed out front, Boss Bob drove up... I gave him my Rental Check, asked him to hold it a couple Days
Explained why... He asked f I needed any Money... Nope, I have Credit Cards and no need anyway
But he handed me two $50 Bills, insisted I take it... See what kind of Apartment Manager I have

Anyway I needed Coffee Filters and set off for the Price Chopper and picked up my Lottos too
Spent $20 on Lottos, won back $30, not a bad start to the Day... and back to el Ranchito
Then started work again on the Pumpkin Cage, a lot of stapling and wiring, got it finished
Next needed to take it up the Hill and place it over the Pumpkin Patch

~ Deer Deterrent Pumpkin Cage Finished ~

So up the Hill to place the Cage over the Pumpkin Patch and pick a little Runted Cucuber that was going nowhere
And I saw another nice Cucumber coming on inside the Cage, I'll get that with the other nice one in a couple days
And I picked another runt Cucumber out of the Pot on the way back in

~ Pumpkin Cage over the Pumpkin Patch ~

And what else? Back inside I checked my Bank again... My Money was back! Time to run up and pay Boss Bob back
And then head back to the Price Chopper to trade in my Winners to celebate... Got $20 more
This time, only a $5 winner. Lost my Profit... Oh well, the Month just started

Then, on to Margarita Time, that is becoming a habit every other Day or so... Well... tasty with my new Recipe
And thinking of what to do with those little Cukes... Well... I had that little Tomato waiting too
So... A nice little Salad with Dinner, those Cukes, that Tomato, add a little Green Pepper and Onion
Add a little Sweet Basil, some Creamy Ranch Dressing, hot up a BBQ Rib Meat Sandwich,.. Wah Lah! Una Comida Especial!

~ Two tiny Cukes, a small Tomato ~ Add Green Pepper and Onion ~ Some Ranch Dressing ~ A Nice little Salad ~

Then to finish up the Good Day with a Glass of Vno Tinto and some more TV
Just another fine Day... Good Weather, Some Gardening, Some Good Food! How Sweet it Is!

~ Canna Lilies Blooming Nicely ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Up the Hill early Monday Morning to pick the two red ripe Better Boys Tomatoes, one for me and One for Lewis
I gave Lewis Jonas the first ripe 'Big Boys' Tomato and I wanted him to try the 'Better Boys' Hybrid
So I headed down to find him at his regular Table along with three other Parkville Downtown business People
I pulled over a chair to sit and mainly just listen until they left, then Lewis and I had a good long Chat
I gave Lewis his Tomato and got that Photo for today, he took it Home to compare the taste with the first I gave him

And then I headed to the Price Chopper for a few Items... Hit the ATM for $60.00... Ooops... Said I was BROKE!
WHAT? Well they made a Mistake or I did... I just got my Paychecks safely deposited in the Bank last Wednesday and Thursday
So I headed over to the Bank next door to check... They looked up my account, started reading off payments
Everything sounded OK until they hit one that was supposed to be $50.00 and they had sent $5,000.00
And I did not have that much in there... So what now?... Well the Payee and the Bank are now working on it
So maybe tomorrow or so, they will have what little money I have left... back in the Bank

And before I left for the Coffee House I took a few Photos up on the Hill, the Cucumber Vines are at the top of the Cage
And I saw a few Cucumbers hanging out behind the Gate, I should have some good sized ones in there soon

~ Tomatoes and Cantaloupes ~ Cucumbers at the Top of the Cage Gate ~

Then here is the larger Tomato I picked for Lewis and the Smaller one for a Salad for me, hoping for more and bigger
The Tomatoes just aren't doing very good this year with all the Rain and Cloudy Days, maybe they can catch up a little

~ The First Ripe Better Boys Tomatoes on the Vine ~

And then, kind of late, I tried one of the Sausages I got from the Sample People a the Price Chopper
Tried the 'Turkey and Garden Peppers' from 'Man Came'... Two large Patties in the pack, kind of high priced but very tasty!
I fried up one Sausage, put it on a toasted Bakery Bun, so large a Patty that I could only eat half of it
So looks like I will get four Sandwiches out of the two Patties, so that cuts down the price

And.. it got hot and muggy fast on Monday, I did very little on the Pumpkin Cage out front, but mot much left to do
On into the afternoon, they were threatening Storms... And around 4:45 p.m. a couple of T-Booms and the Rain began
And the Rain was quite heavy, I was on a Kansas City TV Station and they talked about the Storms all afternoon
Several small Tornadoes in the Area but nothing here in Parkville and the Rain quit about Dark

That was it for Monday.. On to the rest of the Week, another Event on the River again to Video on Thursday maybe
Checked the Bank this Morning (Tuesday) and still Negative over $3,000... Living in Poverty for another Day
But as they say... 'This too shall pass... and life grow sweeter'... Well... I hope!

~ New Zealand Impatiens Looking Good ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Sunday Morning and promising good Weather again, Sunny and near 90 they Say, was really moderate for the 4th
Finished and posted my Saturday Blog with my Morning Coffee and then what for the Day ahead?
My Plants out front looked a bit thirsty so I hooked up the Hose and gave them all a good drink
And then I was thinking of heading to Lowes, needed a couple 1 X 2 Slats to finish that Pumpkin Cage
Need to get that finished and up on the Hill before the new Pumpkin leaves get big enough for the Deer to eat

So off to Lowes at 10 a.m. to find my Slats... And they were all the way back against the rear Wall
About a block away from the Door and it seems to me they are moving that wall farther back every time I want a 1 X 2
So I tried to pick out a couple of straight ones and headed out for home

Then unload and find my folding Rule and Hand Saw and plug in the Drill, measure and cut the Slats
I am using the 1 X 2 Slats to make a frame around the Bottom of the Cage and then Staple the Netting to that
I measured and cut the 1 X 2s, sides and ends, drlled holes and screwed them together for rhe Bottom Frame
Then Stapled the Netting I was working on, on to the Frame, and it was getting hot out there and I came in to cool off

On into the afternoon I was thinking of making 'Pulled Rib Pork' Sandwich and I needed some Buns
The Price Chopper has these big froesh Bakery Buns and that would be perfect so I headed up there
I picked up my Buns and next to them were two Sausage Sample Displays... So I had Breakfast at the Price Chopper
First at the 'Man Cave' Display, nice friendly Guy from Minnesota where the Product is made
But he says it isn't Sausage because they don't add any Fat, well it looked and tasted like Sausage to me
And he is quite a Salesman because he walked me around to the Meat Display Case and sold me some 'Sausage'

Just a couple Meat Display Coolers over was Allissa offering her Aidells Samples and it was really Good
I tried three Samples and then bought a package of Cajun Andouille Sausage.. and she called it 'Sausage'

~ Trey from Man Cave and Allissa from Aidells ~ Feeding me Sausage Samples at the Price Chopper ~

~ And they Sold Me on the Sausage ~

So that was about all of 'My Day' on Sunday, finished out with that 'Pulled Rib Pork' Sandwich and it was GOOD!
Then another Glass of Vino Tinto and off to Dreamland amd it really was for a lot of Dreams

So... The Holiday Week is all gone, Monday Morning and now... What's on the Agenda?
Well for the last couple Days I could see my first red ripe 'Better Boys' Tomato way out front from the Street
Need to run up there and harvest it, and take it down to Lewis at the Coffee Shop
He says that the 'Big Boys' Tomatoes he used to grow are better than my 'Better Boys'
So I took him my first ripe 'Big Boy' and he says it was great.. Now see what he says about my first 'Better Boy'

~ So now... I am on my Way ~ Ever Onward and Upward ~

~ Independence Day - 2015 ~
~ BBQ Ribs in the Smoker Again! ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ First Cucumber Harvest ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Up and at 'em Saturday Morning, first thing... the Ribs out of the Fridge to warm to Room temp for the Smoker
Then fired up the Computers to see that Windows 10 Build 10162 was installing on the new Dell Desktop
That makes three new Upgrades to the Desktops, have to see if it is downloading on the Laptop yet
Then Juice, Coffee, updated my BLOG, some Chat with Sigi... then off to the Day... Where to get the Lottos?

But first I fired up the Smoker and got the Ribs in about 9 a.m. Should Take about six hours maybe
And then, I hadn't been to the Fast Stop for a couple days so I headed there, said 'Hello' to the Uzbecki guys in Russian
They get a kick out of that, and I have been throwing Spanish back at them too, one asked where he could learn some
So... I remembered I had a couple Sets of Spanish Lessons on DVD so I went back home for them
Back then and gave them to the 'Uzzies'... Each one can have a Set... now see what they can learn

And I picked up $20 worth of Lottos and won $15 back, that just will not do!
Anyway back at el Ranchito I started on making the Pumpkin Cage to ward off the Deer
I got about halfway finished and it was getting a bit warm out there by Noon so I put it off for later

As I was working n the Pumkin Cage I could hear the Fourth of July Parade over on Main Street heading to Downtown
All kinds of Holiday activities Downtown and in the Park but I stayed at home all day having a good time
The People at the next Building were having a Cook-out andf Fireworks out front, that was enough Celebration for me
Along with my Independence Day Decorations, my BBQ Smoking away, beautiful moderate Weather, just a fine Day all Day

And so, then I had Windows 10 on all my Desktops and also got my AT&T McAfee Security Suite to install
But the Laptop had not updated from Build 10130 yet, so I got online to download the Build 10162 ISO File
Then as they said, to copy it to a Flash Drive and boot from that to install the latest Build
And so I downloaded the ISO File and when it completed I noticed the Update for Build 10162 was downloading
So I could have waited a bit longer... Then the Build installed itself on the Laptop, latest build on all now

Then at 3 p.m. the Ribs were looking good, I took them out of the Smoker and covered in Foil and into the Oven
Later out to cool and slice, and the Meat just fell off the Bones, never had seenm them that tender

~ More Smoked BBQ Spareribs on the 4th ~

And so... I just took off all the Meat and put it in a pot and added KC Masteriece BBQ Sauce
Now instead of gnawing on the Rib Bones I'll just put the Meat on a Bun and have 'Pulled Rib Pork' Sandwiches

And... For the Day, first a Margarita, later a Manhattan and finished off the Day with a bowl of Ice Cream
Now what's next? The Parkville Days Festival to finish off the Summer and the Labor Day...
Our 2015 Summer has reached the halfway point already... Time does fly... when you are having Fun... and that I am!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Up and at 'em... Just Apple Juice and Coffee and I started back on the 'Kelly' Web Page
Too bad I don't have his number so I can call him and brag about it, it's looking pretty good(?)
But I thought I might add some Photos of the Old Apple Market if I can find any, I think I do
So I uploaded that page to my Web Site, had a piece of Pie and then out to find my Fortune

This time I tried the Fast Stop and won Nothing... Oh No! Then I needed to go back to the Price Chopper
I was thinking of something to BBQ on the 4th, Saturday, that's the Law around here... BBQ On the 4th!
I still have stuff I Barbecued earlier but that doesn't count, I can feed it to the Cat

So, back to the Price Chopper, wanted some Cole Slaw so I got a head of Cabbage and talked to mi Amigo Antonio
Then what to BBQ? I thought Turkey Legs, but they didn't have any, kind of rare there lately
So I looked around, didn't see anything I really wanted, Beef Brisket costs too much and takes forever to Smoke
They had Pork Spareribs on a modest Sale, I did them not too long ago, but I picked up a big Slab for about $20
Then got my Apple Juice and I headed out for Home... And when I put the stuff in the back of the Blazer... AHA!
I saw a plastic bag on the far side down in the doorwell... HAH! Found that lost Green Pepper
And after a day in the back of the Blazer... Still fresh and crisp and into the Fridge at home

The Ribs were frozen so I put the Pack in the Sink to thaw and went on about the afternoon
I did pick my first Cucumber from the Pot, short and fat, those like that don't get longer.. So
Later I made a Salad and used it in that along with Lettuce, Tomato, Green Pepper and Onion
And... after the Ribs had thawed nicely, I took them out of the wrapper, rinsed, dried and trimmed them
Then Dusted with Jack Stack BBQ Rub, covered and into the Fridge overnight

~ More BBQ Rubbed Spareribs ready to Smoke ~

And then... a Margarita, some TV News, later that Salad, even later a Smoked Pork Chop Sandwich
And then on to Bed, to dream of another Smoking Holiday!

~ Harvested Eggplant ~
~ And Eggplant Parmesan/Mozzarella ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Las Flores son Bonitas! ~

And what for Wednesday... I Saw that the latest Build of Wndows 10 had Downloaded, number 10159
And some more changes, a couple I don't care for too much, but the final Build isn't out yet
Got a few Weeks to go for that and it won't look too much different then I believe

And then out and up the Hill to harvest three little Eggplsnts, one little fat one
Then I picked the biggest two out of the Pot in front, thinking of what to do with them later
I was thinking a kind of take-off on Eggplant Parmesan, I always add my own personal twists to that

~ Five Little Eggplants ~ All in a Row ~

So then another quick Trip to Platte City and then back to the Price Chopper
I wanted a big Green Pepper and Tomato and some Mozzarrella Cheese, and the Cheese was on sale
And I picked up my Lottos for the Day, back home to work only a single 5 Win, not doing so good so far in July
Then I unloaded my Sack and saw the Green Pepper was Missing! Where did that go, they charged me for it
Well, I needed that Pepper for my Eggplant concoction so I went back to ask if they saw a Pepper rolling around loose
She said she was positive she put it in the Sack, but it sure wasn't there when I dumped out the Tomato and Cheese
So I forked over another 94 Cents for another one, back home again, all caught up... Then what?

Well when Kelly left on Wednesday I asked him if he wanted me to make him a Web Page for Photos and whatever
He said sure, I thought I would put the Video of him on there... So I copied the Video from the DVD
It was a VOB File and I couldn't edit that format so I converted it to .MPEG then re-edited it on my Sony Vegas
I cut out a lot of - Me - out of the Video, didn't need all that, then some of the boring driving time
Then it looked better, added Titles and subtitles and music to liven it up some, then rendered to .MP4 and uploaded it
Now it is on my Vimeo site, and I added it to the new Page I made for him along with some other of his Photos I had
Now I'll Burn him a DVD sometime, but don't know when I will see him again, forgot to get his Phone Number
Just in case if he or someone he knows bumps into this BLOG... I put the link on here ~ Here's Kelly ~

And then... it was time to make my Eggplant Concoction... 'Eggplant Parmesa/Mozzarrela', how you do that?
I had some ideas, I peeled the little Eggplants, sliced the biggest in half, browned them in a bit in Olive Oil
Then a little Olive Oil in a Baking Dish, placed the Eggplant in the Bottom, added some 'Italian' Panko Crumbs
Next some sliced green Pepper and Onions. some more Crumbs, then a thick sliced fresh Tomato
Some Basil on that, more Crumbs then topped with Mozzarella, more Crumbs and then Parmesan on top, lookin good!

~ My Eggplant Parmesan out of the Oven ~ Ready to Serve with a Glass of Vino Tinto ~

Into the Oven for 45 minutes or so, then half the DIsh on a Plate for a Taste Test, that stuff doesn't look so hot there
But it sure was a tasty way to use up those little Eggplants, maybe the best try I have made with Eggplant Parmesan

OK. need to post this and get on with the rest of Friday... Off We Go!

~ JULY IS HERE! ~
~ Independence Day on the Way! ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Had to take Down the Flag Fan while I Smoked Pork Chops ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And off to find my Fortune early Wednesday Morning, got a Phone call on the way, Lewis at the Coffee House
Told him I was on the way to get my Lottos and then would head downtown to the Coffee House
And so, the street was full of cars and I had to park at the top of the hill and walk down
I saw a guy out in front talking, when I got to the Door he gave me a big Hello and a hug! Who is that?
Then I recognized him, it was Kelly who used to work at the old Apple Market where the Price Chopper is now
And I hadn't seen him since he moved away about 12 years ago... long time no see, so greetings and I went inside
And sat down with Lewis and Dean Jernigan, a few minutes later Kelly came in and joined in the Chat
And he took over the Chat, he can run on about stuff longer than I can and the guys seemed to enjoy his company
The chat ran down about 10 a.m. as usual and we all went our separate ways, Kelly said he would follow me to my place

And so, we started catching up on old Times and that covered a lot of territory, he got Married and had a son
And was working at a new Job but off for the Day on Wednesday... So we spent all day catching up
I had to show him all my new Tech Toys, we played with my Computers, our Smart Phones and the TV, just a good old time
And we had a Margarita.. and later a Manhattan... finally late in the afternoon he had to head out, a fun time was had by all

~ Kelly at my Place... Chatting Away ~

So that was pretty much all of Wednesday, we did walk up the Hill in back when we got back from the Coffee House
Kelly wanted to see my Garden Stuff... and I saw a few Eggplants up there I want to pick this morning (Thursday)
And so I'll run up there first thing, pick them and then jump in the Shower and off to the new Day...

~ Month of June all Gone ~
~ Another Smokin Day Tuesday ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ New Flag out Front for the Fourth ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Our early in the Dawning Tuesday to hang up my 'Flag Fans', looking good for the Fourth of July
I have everything displayed on my Side of the Deck this year, want no complaints from the Neighbor there
Had a Comment later from Tom, the Maintence man, says looks like the 'United Nations' down there

~ My New Flag, My older FLag and my Flag Fans Displayed for Independence Day ~

Then after Coffee, did my Blog and Crosswords, still bright and early, up the Hill to Mow, not so Hot yet but humid
Plugged in the Mower and rasseled it up the Hill behind the Beds, hard to mow on that slope
But I didn't have a lot to do there after the first try and I got all done that I set out to do
And then I came back in dripping wet, cooled down a bit and then into the Shower
Out nice and clean and cool to dry off and then set out for my Lottos all over again

I had a few to trade in, tried first at the Price Chopper and didn't win any
Then back to the Price Chopper, then the Fast Stop and then Kicks 66, I lost track, won a few but no profit
So, finished with my Treasure search for the Day, I added up my winnings for the Month of June
I kept track of the Winners, not the losers, I'll try that in July for a more accurate idea of any profit
But my count for June was that I spent $600 buying the Tickets and won a little over $2,300 back
So it is not all profit but that $1,000 Win did put me ahead for the Month of June I believe

Then... on to the Smoking... I set out the BBQ Rubbed Pork Chops earlier to warm up to room temp
And... Oh! Oh! Look where that Flag Fan is, right over the Smoker Smoke Stack, that won't do
So I took my Ladder out, took down the Flag Fan and then fired up the Smoker, Chops in at 3 p.m.
I thought a couple hours would do the Chops about right so I took them out at 5 P.m. to Sauce and finish

~ Them There Pork Chops ~ Smoked, Sauced, Ready to Devour ~

At my 2 p.m. Cocktail Hour I mixed a Margarita to sip as I worked a 'Margaritaville' Lotto Ticket
Didn't win that one, but I entered it in the 'Margarita Trip Drawing', where shall we go?
Another Manhattan Cocktail with the Afternoon TV News catchup, then... what's for Dinner?

Well... Then I finished off the last Day of June with a Smoked Pork Chop, Pasta Salad, Buttered Toasted Bagel
And... One more Vaso de Vino Tinto as I finished my TV Movie Session once again

NOW! Off to the Month of July and Independence Day!
