~ The New Ethernet Switch Working ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

OK, Friday Morning and Pay Day... And my new Computer on the way today
But I didn't finish up my Thursday reporting such as it was
I left off after I had gone to Walmart for my Ethernet Switch, hooked that up to the Router
Now all ready for the Computer and it said out for Delivery today (Friday)
Maybe I should post the Day's report the same Day so I don't get confused the Day after
Anyway after the Switch Install and finishing watering, dinner and off to bed

And so today (Friday) I checked the Bank.. yeah, Both Checks were there, rich for a day!
Poured my Coffee then thought I would try another Windows 10 install on my HP Desktop
I had already tried a half dozen times and failed each time, well then, just try again
And Voila! This time it worked and I am using Windows 10 on the HP right now...

~ Installed Windows 10 on the HP Desktop ~

And so today (Friday) I was thinking of heading down to the Coffee House to catch up
Just then Lewis called and asked if I was coming, I said on the way and headed down

And a nice chat again, with Dean, Lewis and Bob, boasting about my new Computer
Then Dean and Bob left for a Meeting, Lewis and I kept on til around 9 a.m.
Then I excused myself as I wanted to be home if and when the Big Box arrived

And so, Friday at 11 a.m. I'll post this review of Thursday... and tomorrow the Computer Report?

Cone on Federal Express.. I am READY!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

First thing Wednesday, an Email saying my new Computer had been shipped
And a lot earlier than first reported... and the Monitor is supposed to arrive today
I hope I get back home before the delivery it but probably will make it

Then I finished my Morning routine and headed to the North Kansas City Hospital complex
Arrived a little after 9 a.m. in the Building next to the Hospital
The Urologist Office is in the same Building as Quest Labs where I got my PSA Test last Week
And this time I got right in, no wait at all, got the prelimiany check done
Then the Doctor popped in promptly, a few questions and then the PSA Report
And up a little bit, not much, still the Doctor reccommended another Lupron Shot
So, would only be sore about a week so go ahead, the Nurse came, bend over, the Shot and Done!

Then back to Parkville, stopped in at Kicks 66 for a tank of Gas and on home by 10 a.m.
And then what? Outside to clean out my Fountain... How did that rusty water get in there?
Oh! How did that hunk of Steel Wool get in there anyway, a previous try at cleaning?
And then I filled it up, plugged it in and set it trickling away merrily, ready for the Birdies

So my Monitor arrived on Wednesday about 1:30 p.m. and the Computer comes in a few days more
I set up the Monitor, plugged it into my Dell to check it out, looks great

~ Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse ~ Where's the Computer? ~

Now the Ethernet Switch and Floor Mat I need will take longer from Walmart they say
Anyway I can temporarily 'borrow' a connection to the Router to check out the Computer
And be careful rolling my Chair around on the Carpet before the Floor Mat gets here

And then about 3 p.m. I checked my Email... Hah! Says my Switch was ready at Walmart
So I headed over there, picked it up, headed back and hooked it up, all ready for the new Computer
It is a five port Switch but that doesn't mean I got five more I can use
One Port connects to the Router, another to the Device I unplugged from the Router
Plug those in and one for the new Computer just leaves two spare Ports for something else

But I don't need any more at the Moment, I do have one if I wanted to plug in my Laptop
And so, after watering everything in sight next Door and around back I finished up the Day
Now one more day of Poverty and Pay Day is Friday... Bring it on!

~ Planted the Coleus ~
~ Preparing for the New Computer ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Planted Coleus on Monday ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And Tuesday started out nicer than Monday, a warmer Temp and saying not so cold tonight
And so maybe I can leave the Coleus outside from now on, they say Night Temps about 50 are OK
So I got my Lottos, traded in a $5 Winner, bought $15 more and only won a $10 back
Where is that big one when you need it, Pay Day isn't until Friday

Then, thinking about the new Computer, I needed more than the Computer and Monitor
A Keyboard and Mouse comes with it but they are Wired and I want Wireless, but I had a Spare
And it takes up another part of my Computer Table, needed to extend the Floor Mat for that
I moved one I already had over some, then needed another one beside it
So I ordered one for Store pickup at Walmart, already waiting for an Ethernet Switch from there
I prefer an Ethernet connection for fastest speed from my Router and all four sockets were filled
So installing an Ethernet Switch will give me four more connections

And then to do all I want to on a Computer I need a Blu-ray Burner for my Videos
I have one in each of my other Desktops now so that can wait awhile
And I also have an SSD in each of my present Computers, I want that for the new one too
So I'll have to check around for a good price on a 500GB One

And then... Time Marches On... About 1 p.m. I hooked up the Hose and watered everything out front
Flushed out the Fountain too, it was running a little slow, it gets plugged up now and then
That finished my Gardening for the Day, I'll water next Door tomorrow and then up on the Hill
Most always something to do outside on these nice Spring days

Then it was TV and Dinner until Bed Time... That was all for Tuesday
Now Wednesday Morning, the Temp at 52, that's good for the Coleus, but they say 46 for tonight
The first order of business for the Day, head over to North Kansas City again
Time to check with the Urologist for my PSA report and see if I get another Injection
If so, that makes it painful to sit down for about a week... He skipped the last two shots
If I am lucky he will skip this one too but I am not all that hopeful

Anyway, off to see what good fortune the Day might bring... Ole!

And so Monday Morning again, and I do like Mondays
I like to get past the Weekend and all the People go back to work again and get out of my way
Checked the Weather first thing, one more Monday night in the 40s and then 50's plus for the rest of the Week
So that means that after I get my Loser Lottos, I'll head over to Larry's Nursery for my Coleus
That will fill the last two empty Pots out front and complete my spring Flower Planting

So I headed to Riverside and Larry's Nursery, stopped at the Coffee House to what's doing
And Lewis, Don Kixmiller and Dean Jernigan were there, I joined in, then Bob Fluchel stopped in
And we had a nice long Chat until about 10 a.m. and then I headed on over to the Nursery
I picked up two nice three Packs of Coleus, the same Color that did so well last year

Hen headed back to Parkville and up the Hill on Hiway 9 to the Price Chopper
There I picked up a gallon of my 'Paisano' Vino Tinto and $15 worth of Tickets
Next a cup of Coffee and worked my Lottos for a $15 Win, even up for the Day

And then out front to plant the Coleus in the two Pots the guy upstairs donated
Later I headed up the Hill in back, took my time loading and hauling two more loads to the Gully
And I was thinking of cutting down another Huneysuckle Tree but put that off
Sat on my hill garden Bench up there and enjoyed the View for awhile
Then I took a look at my Garden Beds, not a lot happening yet, they want some warm Weather

~ Spinach and Tomatoes ~ When is Harvest? ~

And then back inside to mix a Margarita and catch up with the Riots in Baltimore
I could give them some advice on how to stop them... but they didn't ask me

So then I finished off another nice Day with some deep fried Shrimp, homemade Hot Sauce and Fries
So, Monday night was forecast to be in the 40s. looks like the Temp is 46 this Morning
I brought the Coleus inside last night, now looks like Nights in the 50s and 60s the next 10 days
So now I can leave the stuff outside and hope we don't get a cold snap

Off to a nicer Tuesday now...

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And so, Sunday Morning, I was thinking, a Monitor doesn't come with that Computer, I'll need one
And I forgot to go to EBates first to get a 2% Rebate on that purchase, a few bucks anyway
So I got with online Chat to a Dell Rep to cancel the Order, which he did satisfactorily
Then I went to Ebates first, then back to Dell and ordered the Computer and with a Monitor this time
Now all set, they say it will be delivered May 5th, sometimes they ship earlier
Anyway I have an empty spot and Power Strip/Surge Protector waiting for it
And I already had a Wireless Keyboard and Mouse as a Prize from the Missouri Lottery

So after that I dawdled around until about 10 a.m. before I set out to win some Lottos
And I got $15 worth and only won $10 back, no profit in that deal and I already spent too much this month
Next? Well the last two days my Internet Explorer was messing up, failing to go to some Web Sites
I checked on all three Computers, did the same on every one so it wasn't that... or the OS either
I used the Browsers on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 and it did the same on all, so what's the deal?
I checked Internet speed, real good, 22 mbps on my Desktops, could it be the AT&T Router?
Called them and talked for a half hour, decided it wasn't that, so maybe just Yahoo messing up again

And so then I took a walk back up the Hill again, raked two or three more loads of stuff
Maybe I'll dump that in the Gully today, Monday, I had enough for the day after that

And... maybe not quite through with the tree cutting up there, have my eye on one that needs removing
Has it's roots all over that area and satellite Trees are popping up, so that is another Project

~ To Continue to be a Tree ~ Or Not to Be? ~ That is the Question ~

Checked the Weather online, looks like good night Temps ahead, Monday night in the 40s
But from then on over a full week ahead of nights in the 50s.. Time to plant the Coleus

But for now... It is Monday Morning... Off again but where to?

Looked good early Saturday Morning but turned cloudy later and not too warm either
I went for my Lottos but didn't win anything, and I could use a nice Win about this time of the Month
I tried to overpay on a few accounts and overspent a little trying to do that
Anyway, Pay Day is next Friday, maybe I can last that long?

Not much needed to be done on a kind of damp dreary Day but I headed up the Hill
Checked out the Plantings, most looking pretty good, Cucumbers and Beets a bit slow
Then I attacked that Pile of Leaves and Trash I raked up the Day before
I piled the AeroCart full of that stuff three times and hauled and dumped it in the Gully
Now it's looking a lot better up there, one brushy Tree I'm thinking of cutting down
One of those nuisance types of Trees that send out invasive Roots to make new Plants

So, than back inside and what to do? Well I wanted a couple Tomatoes so back to the Price Chopper
Some nice 'On the Vine' Tomatoes on a good Sale and also some giant Apples, got both
I still have some of the last Rhubarb/Apple Pie but had a surplus of apples then
So I decided to make another Apple Pie, used three 'Red Delicious' I had plus two of the new 'Giants'
Now I have a surplus of Pie but it will keep nicely in the Fridge until I use it all up

~ One More Apple Pie baked Saturday ~

And then what? Needed something to do but that's when I get in trouble buyng something I don't need
I have been trying to install Windows 10 Trial Release on my HP Computer and always failing every try
I tried several things I found on the Net but nothing worked, maybe this Box just can't handle it
I was thinking it was my second newest Desktop but I guess it is getting a bit dated
I see I bought it in October 2010 and it had Vista installed but I upgraded it to Windows 7
And it has been my main Box for doing my Photos and Videos and burning Blu-rays, working great
But I never can leave well enough alone and tried installing windows 8 with no success, then Windows 10
So, maybe I'll just leave it with Windows 7, using it as is and decided to buy a new Computer
I have that Dell XPS, fairly new, that will do everything I want and now has Windows 10 Trial installed
But I wanted to have Windows 10 on all my computers, ordered another Dell XPS with Windows 8.1
It does have the latest Intel Processor and might become my new Main Computer and I'll install Windows 10 on it
Anyway, something new to play with... and now on to Sunday... and what tday?

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

A little cooler and damp, kind of a dreary Friday Morning but we missed the T-Storms
The Weatherman said Rain Friday Morning we didn't get and also the Storms Friday Night
And of course as usual I watered real good the Day before we get rain

And as usual I headed out for Lottos, Spent $15, won back $15, then spent $15, won back $10
Spent that $10, won back $5, Spent that $5... and won back Nothing... Oh Well

So still cloudy and only 59 Degrees at 2 p.m. and headed up the Hill in back to Mow a little
I got the area in front of my Garden Beds mowed, the Mowing crew doesn't do that part of the Yard
In fact, the crew we have now doesn't do all that good a job back there, they don't cut short enough

So after I mowed I started raking up the rest of the Leaves and Trash, got the area I wanted finished
But I was pooped out by 3:30 p.m. and left the big pile of Trash to be hauled to the Gully later

~ Area Mowed ~ To be Raked ~ To be Hauled and Dumped ~

And I headed down the Hill and back in to mix my Manhattan and catch up on the TV News
That pretty wll finished out the Day, fed the Cat again, made some Tater Soup for Dinner
And off to dream up something to do on Saturday... Not sure what... We didn't get the heavy Storms predicted
I did hear some mild T-Boomers about 3 a.m. and it's all wet out there now
Nothing much left to do on the Hill now except haul that Trash to the Gully... Anyway... Off we Go Again!

So, Thursday Morning I saw on the Net that Microsoft released another Windows 10 Update on Wednesday
They said it was only those Windows 10 'Insiders' on the 'Fast Track' that could get it
So I checked Windows 10 Update Settings on my Computer, saw I was on the 'Slow Track' so I switched to the 'Fast Track'
Then when I checked Updates Settings again I saw the latest Build, 10061, was now ready to download for me

So, then I started the Download and it took quite awhile but the Install was successful
I saw it had the new 'Spartan' Browser, with some neat stuff but a lot more to learn about that
And lots more to check out when I play with it some more, but so far I do like Windows 10 a lot

~ The Windows 10 'Spartan' Browser ~

And then it was time for another try at winning a fortune, headed to Kicks 66 for my Lottos
This was at least the 5th or 6th try with my favorite Tickets and still lost all three

Then it was time to head back up the Hill again. three Piles of Trash to dump up there
And it took five trips to the Gully to dispose of those three Piles but it looks better now
Back down the Hill at Noon-thirty to rest up a little, a couple more things I wanted to do up there

~ Three Piles of Trash Dumped Thursday ~

And then back up the Hill about 1 p.m. to plant the 'Big Max' Pumpkins. Dug three holes to make 'Hills' for 16 Pumpkin Seeds
Now all the Planting is done up there until I need to replace the Radishes with Swiss Chard
And whatever I might plant in the Beds when the Beets are Harvested, if any are harvested
There are a few Beets emerging in that Bed but sure don't look like they are going anywhere fast

So then, I mixed a Margarita, sipped that while resting up out on the Veranda
And then I dragged the Hose back up the Hill and watered everything in sight
I watered the Sunflowers, Pumpkins, Peppers, Beets, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Tomatoes, Spinach and Radishes
Did I miss anything up there? Then Watered the Rhubarb, Blueberry Bush and Rose Bushes in the side Beds
Then over to the Next Building to water the Rose Bushes and Boxwood Bushes I planted there

All finished? Not quite yet... In front of my Place next to water the Tomato, Eggplant and Cucumbers in the pots
And then the Canna Lilies, New Zealand Inpatiens, Marigolds, Zinnias and whatever else is lurking out there now
I have all the Pots and Planters filled now except for two big Pots for the Coleus

That was about it for the Day except feed the Cat and scrounge around for some Dinner
And that did finish off the TV and the Day... Another busy busy Day

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

A little cooler start on Wednesday Morning at 39 degrees, a bit chilly to be climbing the Hill then
Was hoping it would get a bit warmer before going back up to rake some more
So I headed to the Price Chopper again for Lottos and lost again... Four days in a row, no winners

Bright Sun and warming some by 11 a.m. Decided to wander up the Hill in back about 11:30 a.m.
It was Light Jacket weather, had to unzip after I worked a while at raking
I started at the top of the area that was left, worked across and down and cleared the whole area
Now three piles of leaves, sticks and trash to haul over to the Gully after I rest up a bit

~ The Hill before I started ~ The Hill Looking Good Today ~

And warmer still, I headed back up the Hill about 1 p.m. to plant Sunflowers
I dug a furrow about thirty feet long and dropped in a Seed about every six inches
Covered them with Soil by hand as I worked down the row, might have taken twenty minutes or so
I was resting up when I saw Boss Bob's truck go down the Hill, maybe to the Workshop across the Street?
But a short time later I saw him climbing the stairs and he headed up the Hill to give me a Check
The Flowers cost me $25.52, then two used Planters and some Soil, I told him it would be $35
But he handed me the Check, I didn't even look at it, he left, I came in, saw it was for $60.00... Nice profit!

~ 30 Foot Row of Sunflowers Planted Wednesday ~

So now, the Hill is almost finished for the time being... Except for hauling that Trash to the Gully
Then finish planting the Pumpkins on the Hill... I planted the Pie Pumpkins, next the Halloween Pumpkins
After that, only whatever Harvests I get and a couple replacement Crops for later, if and when

So now... Thursday, plans for the Day? Haul that Trash and plant those Pumpkins, maybe win a couple Lottos...
Looks like another Nice Weather Day ahead for those activities.. Let's get at it!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And off to North Kansas City about 9 a.m. Got to Quest Diagnostics 15 minutes later
In the Office, then into the Room with no delay, a couple of the same questions
Then a quick Needle poke and I was out of there in 10 minutes, now what will the PSA number be?
Well I will find out next Wednesday at the Urology Office, maybe then another Needle?

So heading on back, a stop in Riverside at Larry's Norsery, four more Red Impatiens and two Pink-White ones
Back home, popped them into two ready Planters and off to put them in from of the Office
Boss Bob was not there but I am sure he will like these better than the first try I wasn't happy with

~ New Plants in front of the Office ~

And so, the Day warmed up nicely, just warm enoiugh in a T-Shirt about 1 p.m.
Abd what to do that Afternoon? Well head up the Hill again of course
But on the Way out I saw my newly adopted Cat sitting there patiently waiting for me
So I told him to wait a minute, went back in to get him, a little piece of Ham
Got set to take a Photo and then tossed it to him, he is still skittish
I got my Photo just as he grabbed the Ham and ran off around back to eat it

~ My Cat that Adopted Me ~ At Lunch ~

And on back up the Hill, I took my pack of Amish Pumpkin Pie Seeds. the pack had all of six Seeds in it
So then up the Hill in back of the Tomato Bed I turned up the Soil in my Pumpkin Patch
Then planted all of that generous pack of six Seeds, covered with Soil and took a Photo

~ Watch this Spot for Further Development ~

Then what? well I drove in an anchor Bar to hold the ends of my Sunflower warning Fence
And it is sure hard to see without that yellow Rope, but I think it will serve the purpose

~ A Fence to keep the Mowers away from the Sunflowers ~

So, all finished outside for the Day?... Not quite, that Rhubarb looks ready, anyone for a Pie?
I saw that on the way in earlier and thought I would harvest some and make that Pie
I snipped off all the larger Stalks, came in to snip off the leaves, rinse and cut up the Stalks for Pie

~ Rhubarb to Harvest ~ Rhubarb Harvested ~ Rhubarb Pie ~

Then I had to run back to the Price Chopper for some Apples. Pie Crust and Cool Whip
And I picked up a bottle of Lunazul Tequila for a Margarita to sip out on the Veranda
Back home to chop the Rhubarb, peel and slice the Apples, thaw the Crust and the Pie in the Oven
Finished out the Day with that Margarita and TV and I'll sample that Pie this morning (Wednesday)

And what a bizzy Day that was, so what for today? Probsbly just run back up the Hill and rake some more
Just can't tell what will happen around here... Just hang around, something will come up

Monday Morning, a little cooler but Sunny as I headed to KC Skin and Cancer Center
Signed in, a short wait and then was ushered to the little Room again
There the Technician asked a couple questions, got her Snipper and snipped off the Stitches
Then the Nurse Practitioner came in to check the incision, pronouced all was well
See you later and I headed back by Kicks 66 for $15 worth of Scratcher losers

A late Breakfast and then to downtown Parkville to Bentley Guitar Studios
I wanted to give them a Blu-ray DVD Copy of my Shortleaf Band Video
And then, sitting in my Office Chair at the Computer and hearing the pops and squeaks
I thought it might be time after about 30 years to buy a new one
The old one was still servicable but it was time for a new one so I headed to Walmart
And they had this nice Leather one for about a third of what I paid for that old one in 1985

After all, being the Web Master of http://www.donlsmith.net and http://www.parkvillenaturesanctuary.net
And having two super loaded Desktop Computers and a real nice Laptop to play with
I thought at least I deserved a better Chair for my IT Department

And... Boss Bob dropped by to look at my other Planters after I thought I could make a better one for him
He asked what I thought and I said I thought a couple of New Zealand Impatiens would look better than the one I made
So there is a Project to start on today (Tuesday)... After I get back from North Kansas City and Riverside

~ Area to be Cleaned Up ~ One Third Done ~

I thought I was all done outside and it was a bit on the cool side anyway
But I took a look out front later that afternoon and the Sun was out bright and warm enough
So I put on a long sleeve Shirt and headed back up the Hill with my Rake
I wanted to clean some of the Leaves and Trash off the Hill behind the Garden Beds
Then plant some Sunflowers and Pumpkins back there, the Pumpkin Vines looked good up their last year
So I raked for a short while, got about a third of it cleaned off, will do more later today

This Morning I'll head over to North Kansas City Hospital, get my six month PSA Test
Then stop in at Larry's Nursery on the way back for some more Flowers for Boss Bob
Plant those in two of my Planters, take them up to the Office and then get back to that Hill

And the Rain stopped on Saturday afternoon and we got some late Sunshine
Took a peek out front Sunday Morning, everything all wet again and a misty Rain falling
So... no planting up on that muddy Hill in back today, hard enough to get up there even when it is dry

And what is left to do right away? Nothing, it looks like today
Plant those Pumpkin Seeds and a few more Sunflowers when it dries up some
Then I have about seven more Pots to fill, waiting a little for the Coleus, need warmer weather

Everything should be planted by May first, then just replace crops as they are Harvested
First the Radishes and the Spinach and then wait awhile for anything else
Maybe then plant more Radishes and replace the harvested Spinach with Swiss Chard

So... 8 a.m. and off to the Price Chopper, Rain stopped, looked like it was clearing up a little
Saw a stray Cat on the way out, in the bushes in front, waiting for a Bird Breakfast I think
And I went back in and got him a small bowl of Milk, was still here when I got back so I gave him a small piece of Ham<
Got $20 worth of Scratchers at the Price Chopper, back to work off only $10, that's the Lotto for Sunday

Took a walk outside and up the Hill, everything looking good but too wet to work
Looks like I need to rake the Branches and Leaves off the Hill before I try to plant anything there
But it will be a couple days before it is dry enough to do that
On the way back in I saw the Big Boy Tomato in the Pot had it's first Blossom
But the first blooms don't do much and it will be some time before I get a Tomato

And about that time I got bored... I wanted something to do outside... Well still had seven empty Pots
And the Sun was peeking out shyly and warming up, so off to Larry's Nursery again
Picked out two more New Zealand Impatiens and another Calla Lily, then back to put in the Pots

~ Two More Impatiens ~ One More Calla Lily ~

Now I think I have all done in front except for two Planters and two big Pots
I plan to plant some Coleus in those in about another week when it gets a tad warmer

To finish out the day, back up the Hill to rake up the pile of Leaves and Trash I left there
Then load it on my Aerocart and roll it over to dump it in the Gully next to the back yard
And I saw that I couldn't see the little warning Fence next to where I planted the Sunflowers
It is dark green and you can hardly see it, so I went to P&G Hardware for some bright yellow plastic Rope
Strung it through the top of the Fence, now easier to see it on the way up the Hill

What for Monday? Well, head over to KC Skin and Cancer Center, get the stitches out of my Arm
Later if it is dry enough, rake some more stuff off the Hill, maybe plant something up there?

And so, Saturday showed up right on Schedule, fired up the Dell HP and got online
I saw an Item saying Microsoft was sneaking Windows 10 stuff in Windows 7 and 7.1 Updates
Preparing the Computers for the Install of the final release of Windows 10
And I have been running the Dell on Windows 10 Pre-release Trial and not getting the updates there
So, I shut down the Computer, unplugged the SSD and fired up the agaim, Booting from the original Hard Drive
Then setting Windows to download all the latest Windows 8.1 Updates and there were 42 updates waiting

Took a peek out into the early Morning darkness, street was all dry, we did get a very light Rain Friday
I finished watering up on the Hill, back down for my Manhattan and TV, went out to Grill the Burger
And saw we already had a light shower, just enough to dampen everything a little, but for Saturday:
"Today - Thunderstorms likely. High 71 F (21.7 C). Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 90%"
I was thinking of going back up the Hill to plant Sunflowers, maybe I could sneak that in

So then I headed outside, just a tiny few sprinkles as I started up the Stairs to the back
Just then a call from Bob Fluchel, was at the Coffee House, said he was heading to the Sanctuary
It was a Volunteer Work Day but Rain was expected. He said he would meet any Volunteers there
But would cancel the Work Day and be back at the Coffee House at 9:10 a.m. or so

So I headed on up the Hill at 8:27 a.m. to plant the some Sunflower Seeds I had from the Year I last grew them
I dug a furrow with my Hoe, got a Photo before I started, then planted about a 15 foot Row

~ Sunflowers Seeds to be Planted in that Furrow ~ Planted and Fenced In ~

Then I planted the Seeds, covered them and put up a little decorative Fence to warn the Mowers away
Hard to see the Fence in this Photo, it is dark green and blends in with the Grass

Then I headed back in at 9:06 to get ready to head down to the Coffee House... Got another call
Bob was at the Nature Sanctuary and said they were going to try to get in some work before the Rain
So I decided to head over there to get a Photo or two of what they were doing, they had started
They were replacing an old BBQ Grill in the Picnic area with a better one

~ Replacing the Grill in the Nature Sanctuary ~

They just had a good start when it began to Sprinkle, and then a couple Rumbles and it began to pour down
So I headed fast back to my Blazer, watched as they collected the Tools and packed in the Sanctuary Truck
It was really raining hard then, they headed back to the Work Shed, I sat waiting
Then I got a call from Lewis, said they were headed to the Coffee House which I had expected

We arrived at the Coffee House and a few more joined in the group, the Coffee House was crowded downstairs
Bob climbed the stairs, found a table and waved us all up there, I had never been up there before
Quite nice, furnished like a large Living Room with Tables and TV

~ Bob, Barb, Dianne,Don, Wayne, Lewis, Pat ~

And so, with that large convivial group we had a long and pleasant Meeting as the Rain poured outside
By 11:30 or so the Rain had tapered off and we all headed out to finish our our days wherever
I headed down to the Fast Stop, I had won $15 earlier from Kicks 66 and traded that for $15 more and only won $10 back

And it rained lightly most all day, decided to go get some Pumpkin Seeds for the Hill in back
Headed for KMart. got a pack of 'Amish Pie' Seeds for Pies and a pack of 'Big Max' for Jack O' Lanterns
I probably won't be carving any for Jack O' Lanterns, maybe set them out for display if I get any
Want to try to plant more Sunflowers and those Pumpkins on Sunday... It it doesn't rain more

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And... On the way out first thing Friday Morning, I saw one Impatiens Plant out of the Pot
A Squirrel had been digging in the empty Pots earlier, now in to my Planted Flowers!
I saw him digging away in a Pot one Morning and chased him off, he didn't seem in much of a hurry
Anyway, off to the Price Chopper for one Item and my Lottos, back to win only $5
Then I went out and replanted the Zinnia and Impatiens the Squirrel dug up

Then I hooked up the Hose and went back out front to water the rest of the Stuff I missed on Thursday
Next then rinsed out and drained the Fountain on the Wall, filled it and plugged in the Pump
And WAH LAH! This year it worked without reaming out the Pump Hose like the last two Years

Next back up the Hill with my Cucumber Seed Tapes, planted six feet of Tape in the Cucumber Bed
And then planted eight feet of tape in the back of the Pepper Bed, let them climb the back gate
That went easy enough, Seed Tapes sure beat dropping Seeds in one by one, better spacing too

~ Cucumber Seed Tapes in the Pepper Bed ~

And then two Beds over, planted more Seed Tape in the Cucumber Bed with the Radishes
After the Radishes are harvested... (if), later I will plant more Swiss Chard in that Bed

~ Cucumber Seed Tapes in the Cucumber Bed ~ With the Radishes ~

And back to the Squirrel digging... I checked online, looks like a lot of people had that problem
They had a of suggestions, the easiest I saw was to 'season generously with Cayenne Pepper and serve'
And I was out of that for the Moment but not for long, I headed back to the Price Chopper
Picked up a jar of Cayenne Pepper and headed back, then sprinkled it in all the Pots
Might be OK, unless I have a Mexican Squirrel with a taste for hot Pepper

~ My Zinnias with a seasoning of Cayenne Pepper ~

And that was it until after I had my Manhattan and sat outside absorbing that super Weather ambience
After that I headed back up the Hill, the Weatherman said Rain for Saturday but I wanted to water in the new Seeds
Watered all the Beds and then back down the Hill to finish out the Day, Grill a Burger, watch some TV
And then off to Dream of another fine Day for Saturday.. so now... Off we go

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Off to try my luck at Kicks 66 Again Thursday Morning... Bought $20 worth, Lost $20 worth
Two days in a row... No Wins, this has to cease! Oh well, off to Larry's Nursery again
And I bought a three Pack of Marigolds, a Canna Lily, a Jalapeno Pepper, a Big Bertha Pepper
And four nice sized Better Boys Tomato Plants, all the Vegetable Plants I will need this Season

~ Plants to Plant on Thursday ~

Planted one Marigold Plant in each of two Small Ceramic Pots, one left over to find a place for
Then I planted the Canna Lily in my third biggest Pot, they say that they can grow large

Next, up the Hill in back with the Tomatoes and Peppers, planted the Jalapeno and Big Bertha Pepper
And then planted the four Tomato Plants in the back of the Bed where I planted the Spinach<

So for now, everything is planted in the Beds back there except the Cucumbers and maybe Friday for that

~ Jalapeno ~ Big Bertha Pepper ~ Egglants ~

~ Better Boys Tomatoes ~ Spinach in Front ~

And while I was puttering around Boss Bob came by the inspect things and was pleased
He said his wife was planning to buy some Planters and Plants, expensive ones of course
Then he said one of those long Planters would look nice up at the Office, I said I had a spare
And mine are the low priced Plastic kind which work OK, I said I would get him some Flowers
And after a bit I headed back to Larry's Nursery for some, two three Packs of Marigolds for $2.32
Back home to plant them in my spare Planter, watered them, then took them up to the Office
Bob had left for Home by then, I just left the Planter next to the Door, let him put them where he wants

~ Planter for Boss Bob's Office ~

And to wind up the Day outside I first mixed my afternoon Cocktail and sipped while I rested out front
After that I hauled the Hose around front, watered the Plants at the next Building
Then dropped the Hose over the Wall, watered some of the Plants out front of my place

That was it for the day outside, now today (Friday) I'll finish watering the plants in front
Then hose off the Foutain on the wall, flush out the bowl and see if I can get it running for the Birds
Then up the Hill in back again to plant the Cucumber Seed Tapes I made earlier... Off We Go!

~ One More Coffee HOuse Meeting ~
~ A Few More Garden Photos ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Halfway through April already... OH NO! Winter is on the way again! Well a few more months anyway
And so, Wednesday Morning, burned a few Blu-ray DVDs of the Shortleaf Band Concert try
I sure had some disappointments doing this one but I did get some good stuff in it
That dead Microphone Battery at Bentley's really spoiled a lot of good Songs and Video
Then too Dark at the KC Power and Light District venue at the Berliner Bar
And trying to do those complete songs with no Tripod, won't try that again soon
But I did go back and use a Tripod for the exterior shots at KCPL... That helped
But then I am just a beginner at that, only have over 200 Videos at my 'Vimeo' site
Maybe one of these days I will end up with a good one?

So then after my Wednesday Morning routine I headed out for my Lottos, worked them all for losers
And then headed down to the Coffee Shop to meet with Lewis Jonas, I had a DVD for him
I was there first, then Dean Jernigan came in, followed by Don Kixmiller
Next City Alderman Jim Werner, and last, Nature Sanctuary Director, Bob Fluchel
And then a lengthy Chit-Chat, I mainly just sat back and listened, not much to add
After a couple Hours we all left for our own destinations, another nice Coffee House visit

Back at el Ranchito I headed out back for that Photo of the Spinach, looking better every Day

~ Spinach looking good on Wednesday ~

And a quick peek at the Cucumbers in the Pot, looks like seven or eight Seeds popped up
They will want many warmer Days to get happy though, they like a little Heat
Then a look next Door at the newly planted Boxwoods, adapting to their new environment
I hope they do a lot better than the other stuff I tried in those Beds

~ My Boxwoods Next Door, Day after Planting ~

Then back in and out to the Kitchen, baked another Loaf of Bread Tuesday, needed to slice it
Got out my Electric Slicer, got about 14 nice Slices, most into Plastic Bags and into the Freezer
I don't eat much Bread so I keep it in the Freezer, easy to MW or Toast when I need it
Saved out an end Slice and toasted it up for Butter and Orange Marmalade... quite Tasty!

And other than that, just some puttering around the place, the only Gardening was a few Photos
Supposed to be a nice day today, Thursday, have to find something nice to do

~ Marigolds Planted Monday ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The usual runaround Tuesday Morning, won some, lost some, don't know if I was ahead or not
Doesn't make a lot of difference, the thrill is in the chase for that Big One I can never catch

Back home I trotted up the Hill in back to get a Photo of my Spinach which is emerging
Got a Photo, edited it then lost it, don't know where it went, oh well, get another one
Then I rearranged the Flower Plants out front, that will continue as I add more

~ Latest Flowers out in Front Tuesday ~

Later I thought I would start replacing some dead plants at the next Building, the Surge I planted there died
Wasn't having much luck planting there, more plants died than lived, four Roses there doing so-so now
Anyway, I thought I would try again, pulled out the dead Spurge Plants, raked back the Mulch
Then started digging two holes, deeper than the first tries, I wanted to try Boxwood over there
I worked about an hour or more on that, then went to the Office to talk to Boss Bob<

~ Excavating Done ~ Let's Go Get some Bushes ~

Told him I was ready to plant replacement Bushes and he called the 'Grass Pad' to tell them I was coming
I headed up there, a really nice drive in the beautiful North back Country, found some nice Boxwoods
The man took them to my Blazer, I headed to the Checkout to pay for them, got the Apartment discount
Then back to give the Receipt to Boss Bob, he gave me a check and a cash Bonus for planting them... Nice!
And then back down the Hill, worked to get the holes somewhat larger then in with the new Bushes

~ New Boxwood Bushes Planted on Tuesday ~

Looking good for now, have to keep them watered and hope these last longer than the last tries
And that project about wore me out for the Day, went back to watch TV, then had to lie down a bit
After a nap I got up to find some Dinner, a little more TV and off to Bed

And so Wednesday Morning... What to do today... Oh, back up the Hill to get a Spinach Photo
Then some Lottos, maybe a couple Winners? And then what? Well I'll find something to do

~ Ever Onward and Upward ~
