~ Last of June so Soon? ~
~ More Garden Playtime Sunday ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And so again, I watered Saturday Morning, it rained Saturday Evening, well the Plants seem to like it
And... After a busy Day on Saturday a busy start on Sunday, out and up the Hill about 9 a.m.
And... It was kind of a cloudy morning and only 78 degrees but a lot of Humididity (yeah lots)
So I dragged the Trimmer and Electric Cord up the Hill... First thinned the Cucumbers
That didn't take five minutes, this batch looking better than the first Planting
So I got a Photo, hooked up the Trimmer and started in on the Weeds up there

~ Thinned the new Cucumbers ~

Make pretty good progress but the line kept breaking inside the Spool, has a habit of doing that
Tried to find a Blade Conversion Kit like I once had but can't find one online
Anyway I would cut some then the Line would break and whirr and I would head for the Bench
Sat down, popped off the Spool cover to rethread the Line then back to cut some more
Finally I was dripping wet and ready to quit for that Session, got most all done that I wanted
Then back inside about 10 a.m. to shower and get ready for the rest of Sunday... Charge!

Not too bad at Lottos to start, got $16 of Winners at Kicks 66 but they gave me one wrong Card
I went back to trade in the $16 Winners and got my Favorite Card and then got a $10 winner on that
Then stopped by the Price Chopper for two more cards I had won on and got a $12 Winner

And so, By the by... I got a Snail Mail Saturday from MO Lotto about my Prize Gas Grill
Saying will be shipped in One to Two weeks, The Award Email had said Two to Four weeks so they are getting closer
So I moved my Smoker over to make room for it out front on the Veranda

At TV and Snack time I was thinking about those Pickled Eggs, another experiment?, make Deviled Eggs
Sounded like a feasable Idea, took a couple Eggs out of te Jar, did the usual Deviling
And they turned out pretty good, the White Part as Tasty as the Deviled Yolk, maybe too much spicy taste

Then tried some of that latest Ham and Bean Soup for Dinner, yeah that's good stuff
Now what? Last Day of June, Pay Day and New Month tomorrow, then the 4th of July on the way
Thinking of putting out my Flag Fans and Flag tomorrow, get started on the Holiday Early

~ Bang! Bang!~ Ever Onward and Upward! ~

~ Watered the Crops in spite of the Forecast ~
~ Made Pickled Kielbasa ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ What is This? Pickled Kielbasa Sausage! ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

'To Water or Not to Water'... That was the question Saturday Morning
So I decided to water, up the Hill on a cloudy Morning, the Atmosphere feeling 'heavy'
Well, I checked the Pumpkin PAtch first, eleven Male Blossoms, no Females as usual
But I did see several potential Female Buds on several Vines so it will be any Day now
And I got a Photo of the Patch from above on the Hill, can't Photo the entire bed from below now

~ Pumpkin Patch Above on the Hill ~

And then I watered the Three Beds back there, the new Cucumber Plants look great
And the Swiss Chard is now popping up in front of the Cucumbers
I will have to thin the Cucumbers soon, give them some space to spread out
And then back inside, what other plans for the Day? Well slice and store that Bread

But before that, off to Kicks 66 for Scratchers and the Price Chopper for Juice and Bug Spray
Traded in $19 of Winners and then scratched off only $12 worth, no profit there

So what then? was thinking 'What's for Dinner?' early, thinking Fish or Shrimp
Back to Price Chopper's Seafood Section. the Swai looked good, picked up a pack of Three Filets
Then I headed to the Frozen Vegetable Section to pick up a pack of Extra Crispy Crinkly Fries
They go good with some deep fried Swai Fish when breaded with Panko
Then I set out a Filet to thaw and the Fry Daddy to let the Peanut oil warm to room temp

And then what made me think of Pickled Sausages? Looked that up online. looked easy
So back to the Price Chopper for some Kielbasa and White Vinegar, I had the rest at Home
So after the Kielbasa was cooked, all I needed was the pickling Brine, White Vinegar and Water
Then a little Salt, Sugar, Pickling Spice and Hot Chile Flakes
So, I had cut the Sausage in chunks before cooking, placed them in the Jar, poured in the Brine and WAH LAH!

When the Sausage cooled down, into the Fridge to pickle for a week or so then a Taste Test
Then I started on some Fish and Chips for Dinner, breaded the Fish and into the Fridge to 'set up'
Later put the Crinkle Fires into the Oven, when they were about ready I deep Fried the Fish
Ant that came out tasty enough way to wind up another pretty good day

And then it started to Rain... again after all that watering Saturday Morning... Oh Well

~ Making More Ham and Bean Soup? ~
~ Baked More Bread ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Number 4 Beefy Boy Tomato ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Well for a change, NOT out and up the Hill at Day Break, out of Bug Spray
I wanted to water the Beds up there but I put it off for the moment
So I did my Morning Routine and headed for Kicks and the Price Chopper
Well, you see it's like this, I smoked a big Half Ham for Easter, yeah
And I sliced it up, used the Bone and some scraps to make Ham and Bean Soup
Then into the Freezer with most of that sliced Ham and the Bean Soup, and some still there
Well some of the Bean Soup... but a lot of that Sliced Ham, just have not been using it up
So, the project for Friday, make some more Ham and Bean soup to stuff up the Freezer some more

And so, I got my Loser Scratchers at Kicks, well I did win $19 at that
Then over to the Price Chopper for six Cans of Great Northern Beans and some Onions
Next started on my Soup, diced up several slices of Ham, then several left over Stalks of Celery
And a Couple of large Sweet onions, all into the Crock Pot with some Chicken stock to simmer

That filled my Pot about a third full with no Beans added yet, started on that
I pour out and discard the liquid in the Can then rinse the Beans real good
I read somewhere that helps get rid of some of the Gas that bean liquid contains
Then into the Pot with six Cans of Beans to simmer all day, making super Soup
The Beans didn't quite fill up the Crock Pot so I added more slices of diced Ham and more Onions

~ Ham and Bean Super Soup! ~

While the Soup was souping I decided to make more Bread, that last loaf lasted a long time
I slice it and freeze it and take out a slice at a time to toast and serve, sure is good
So time to replenish my supply so I mixed it up and started the Machine
And I must have done it right this time because three hours later I had the best looking loaf yet

~ Latest Loaf of Home Baked Bread ~

And then it was time to dish up the Ham and Bean Soup and store it away in the freezer
Now I have about two Gallons of that stuff ready for dinner from now til when?

That was it for Friday except another of those 'Omaha Steaks' Filet Mignon with a Salad
And what for a cloudy Morning on Saturday? I planned to water the Back Beds
But the Forecast says T-storms this afternoon, so what to do?
Last time I watered real good, then the rains came... so 'To water or not to Water?'
That is the Question... (I am thinking go ahead and water)

~ Spraying Brush and Weeds ~
~ Pickled Three Jalapeno Peppers ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Thursday Morning 8:30 a.m. I mixed up a couple Gallons of the Herbicide that Boss Bob gave me
Then up the Hill with that 32 Pounds of Weed Killer... Pretty hefty load for me
Some of the Brush and Weeds I cut down were coming back even after Tom sprayed them twice
Anyway I started at one end of my clearing area and sprayed to the other end
I had just enough mixed up to do the Job this time and more in the Bottle for the next time

I saw a lot of Bees buzzing around the Pumpkin Vines but still no Female Blossoms
Some should be showing up soon, usually a couple weeks after the Male Flowers start
I wonder if that is to get the Bees ready to pollinate after a Female Flower shows up?

Now that whole row of Cucumber Seed Tape I planted is coming up, no Swiss Chard yet
And I saw a couple of Jalapenos I needed to pick, if they start to have little cracks, meams they are over ready
Then I snapped off a few ready Rhubarb Stalks on the way back in, I'm freezing a little at a a time

Rinsed off the Rhubarb Stalks, cut into 1 inch Pieces and into the Freezer in a Baggy
Then I trotted back up the Hill with my Camera to get a pic of the Cucumbers coming up
Looks like I made a pretty good Seed Tape, worked better than that last Store one I tried

~ Cucumber Sprouts from my Home Made Seed Tape ~

Then I picked the two little cracked Jalapenos and a nice one
Simmered them in the Juice from my Jalapeno Jar and then back in the Bottle and in the Fridge
And then off to the Price Chopper for more Lottos, worked all Duds from the first ones from Kicks 66

Out front in th Afternoon, checked my Beefy Boy Tomato plant... Leaves all looking wilty
Quick Henry, the Hose! Well, Sprinkler Can anyway, filled it and watered the Plant
Surprizing how quick those plants recover, in fifteen minutes it was all perked up again
So then I did hook up the Hose and watered everything out front and also next Building over
Now I need to get that Hose back up the Hill to water everything up there
Especially the newly Planted Cucumbers and Swiss Chard, maybe later this morning

Anyway, sooner than later, everything gets done one way or another

~ Ever Onward and Upward! ~

~ Another Beet Harvest ~
~ Tried a Slice of that Cherry Pie ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Wednesday Morning, out and up the Hill again at 8 a.m. Sunny and humid, not hot yet
So, first thing I picked all the Beets in the Tomato Bed, then pulled all the Weeds
Now should I try to plant something else in there? Like what?

~ Tomato Bed with all the Beets Gone ~

Then a Peek at the Newly Planted Cucumbers, starting to pop up and looking healthy... so far
And there is Swiss Chard planted in there too but can't see that it is emerging yet

~ Newly Planted Cucumbers Popping Up ~

Then a look at those Pumpkin Vines again, heading out all over, 11 new Male Blossoms but no Females yet
How do you tell? Easy, take a look, first the Male has a long thin Stem, and a single Stamen in the Blossom
The Female has a Short Stem and a Bump under the Blossom and a multi-segmented Stigma, easy to tell

~ Male Blossom ~ Female Blossom ~ Female Bud with Pumpkin Bump ~

So then back inside at 8:30 with a bucket of Beets, that didn't take long
I clipped the Leaves off the Beets, washed them good and then into the Pot to simmer awhile
After that, let them cool and then clipped off the tops and roots and rubbed the skins off
Then split the larger ones, then into the Pot with the Pickling Brine to get them all pickled up

~ Latest Beet Harvest ~ More Beet Pickles? ~

Then while that was going on I went out to make a new 'Hanger' for my Hummingbird Feeder
It holds the Feeder way from the Tree so the Downy Woodpecker can't drain all the Goodies
He was draining it a lot faster than the Humingbirds do, had to fill it up more often
Then back inside to finish up and bottle the Beet Pickles, then time for a Manhattan and TV

~ More Beet Pickles at 3 p.m. ~

And that was about all the productive action for Wednesday, pretty nice day after all
Then I checked my Snail Mail... My new 20 foot HDMI Cable was there...
Back to my Casita to hook it up to my TV, then the Laptop, took a few adjustments
And then my Laptop Screen was on my TV in 'Living Color' and looked Great!

I have a 'Smart TV' and can get Internet stuff on it but not so easy with no Keyboard
The 'You Tube' and 'Netflix' stuff was hard and tedious to search for, but on the Laptop it is a snap
But now I can see any and all that's on my Computer and the Internet with great ease and great performance
So I played with that for a couple hours, finished the day playing with that.... then Good Night...

Now... Thursday Morning, thinking of heading up the Hill to spray Weeds, some stuff trying to come back
On to the New Day... Ole!

~ Baked Cherry Pie on Tuesday ~
~ Then the Nature Sanctuary Meeting at 7 p.m. ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

So Tuesday after my Mowing Session and Cleanup I headed to Kicks 66 first, got my Lottos
Then stopped by the Price Chopper, I bought a sack of Sweet Cherries a couple Days ago
Not making a lot of headway eating them so I thought I would make a Cherry Pie
They aren't those tart 'Pie Cherries' but they should work, I thought
Got my Pie Crust and headed back to scratch off all DUDS! well ya can't win 'em all
Then I started on my Pie, put the Cherries in a Pan, a cup of Sugar and a couple TBSPs of Flour
Let those simmer a bit to make a Syrup, then into my Crust and into the Oven
Then not quite an Hour later, Wah Lah! and it looks pretty good! A Taste Test this Morning

Not a lot going on the rest of the afternoon and it was a long, long one
I hadn't eaten much all day so I made a Burger early, well the Sanctuary Meeting was on tap
I had missed every meeting all this Year so I was planning on going to this one

So finally headed down the Hill to the Train Station for the Meeting
Not many Committee Members this time but several guests with future projects mentioned

~ Nature Sanctuary Committee Meeting at the Train Station ~

So then Director Bob Fluchel got the Business talk out of the way, meeting adjourned
Then refreshments and chit chat and after that wound down, we all headed for Home
And I mixed a late Manhattan and watched TV way later than usual, the off to my dreams

Now what today? Well after my Coffee and Blog I will head up the Hill to harvest the Beets
Check the Cucumber and Pepper Bed and of course the Pumpkin Patch, then off to Kicks 66 again

~ Nice Lotto Wins Sunday and Monday ~
~ Back to the Jungle on Tuesday ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Monday Morning, Rain stopped and dried up but a glum looking cloudy Morning
But my Day brightend up some after a nice Scratcher Win from Kicks 66, another $100 Win!
That ticket has been nice to me, won three $50 ones in May and a $50 and $100 this month
So, Sunday I won two $20s and a $6, Monday a $100 and a $5, so ahead for the week so far

And then (of course) not letting well enough alone I went back to the Price Chopper
And traded in that last $5 win plus a $20 Bill and back home to scratch off another $40 and $1 Win!

Well even without doing the Math it is obvious I was way ahead for the last Two Days
With Wins of $1, $5, $6, $20, $20, $40 and $100... Now that is really time to quit for the Day
Hard to do though because I really like to Scatch off them thar Tickets!

So not much else for the rest of the day, just to gloat over my $140 plus win
I do wish them there Chiggers weren't out back, I just don't like to go back there without the bug Spray
But I was planning to head back out this morning to putter around a bit if it was dry enough
So, up the Hill at 8 a.m. in 71 Degrees but very Humid, and the grass was wet, checked the Beds first
Still no Female Blossoms on the Pumpkin Vines, some Beets almost ready to pull
And the Eggplant Plants are Blooming nicely

~ Pumpkin Patch now over 10 feet wide ~ Lotsa Male Blossoms ~

Then I mowed a bunch in front of the Beds, and the Mowing crew is due for today too
But they don't mow back there where I do, especially when it's wet and muddy like today
Anyway a half hour of that was enough and I was dripping wet again
So back down the Hill and in at 8:30 to wash off any possible Chiggers
Then get ready for today's Treasure Hunt, got another $10 Winner to trade in

~ CHARGE! ~ Ever Onward and Upward! ~

~ Miracle-Gro Again for the Gardens ~
~ Then it Rained! ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Out again Sunday Morning at 8 a.m. with 78 Degrees and Hazy Sun to trudge up the Hill with the Hose
And I had on my long sleeve Shirt, but not much needed in that Hazy Sun, but just in case
I hooked up my Miracle-Gro Sprayer and hit the Pumpkin Patch, more Blooms amd spreading out more
Then the Cucumber Bed with the newly planted Cucumber Seed Tape and some Swiss Chard Seed
Next the Tomato Bed with a new Tomato showing and some more Beets ready to pull
Finally the Pepper and Eggplant Bed, some more Jalapenos setting on and more Eggplant Blooms

Then back down the Hill to the Rhubarb Bed, doing great and I'm harvesting a few large Stalks and Freezing tem
Watered the Rhubard and then to the Roses in the Side Bed, then Next Door for the plants over there
Then back down the Stairs in front of my place and watered all the Bushes there
Then all that was left were the Flowers, thought I would Miracle-Gro them later with my Sprinkler Can

~ Now Three Tomatoes on My Beefy Boy Plant ~ One hiding behind the Left One ~

Then I checked the Beefy Boy in the Pot, looking great! Now at 5 and 1/2 feet and heading for the top of the pole
And now another Tomato showed up, besides the two already Started, two hanging almost together
And the largest with a wrinkly top side like a Beef Steak Tomato, I thought they would be smooth

So then back inside, it was getting hot and humid out there, time for a Margarita
And I put another of those Omaha Steaks out to thaw for later, that's pretty good stuff

So later I went back out, filled my Watering Can about 5 times to water all the Flowers in front
Done with that for the Day, back inside to wind up the day with TV and Dinner

And then, early evening, clouded up, a couple T-Booms and a teeming Rain!
Ain't that always the way? Water everything real good and then it rains
Well, maybe all the Plants will like it if they don't drown first

~ Ever Onward and Upward! ~

~ Planted Replacement Cucumbers ~
~ Checked the New Plants Next Door ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ New Laptop Blue Tooth Wireless Speakers ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

First thing Saturday I made 6 feet of Cucumber Seed Tape with Flour Paste and Toilet Paper
Then I got out the Chigger Spray, sprayed here and there and then remembered to put on a long sleeve Shirt
Friday I made an afternoon trip to the Store and forgot to put on that Shirt
Went out in bright Sun to start the Blazer and before I could turn on the A/C my Hand and Arm began BURNING!
And I mean OUCH! Well they said to stay out of the sun for 48 Hours... Back in for that Shirt
And I put some lotion on that Arm and Hand but it was uncomfortable for an Hour

Anyway back to the Ranch, I headed up the Hill in Hazy Morning Sunshine, no problem
I took a look at the Pumpkin Patch, doing great and spreading out but still only new Male Blooms
Then to the Cucumber Patch, new Mole tunnel there below the surface, wonder if Moles eat Cucumbers
So I kinda poked my Trowel into the Tunnel and spread out the Soil, then planted the Seed Tape
I don't know if Cucumbers planted this late will do much but we'll see and I'll watch for bugs

~ New Planted Roses Doing Great Next Door ~

Then I took a look over at the next Building to check on my Plantings I did there
The Veronica seems to be doing OK, (blue flowers), The New Roses are Blooming again
And the Spurge I planted last year also looking really good, the three in the other Bed died over the winter
Well, not all three, one barely survived and I have that in a Pot and doing OK but not great yet

And finally off to Kicks 66 to chase that Pot of Gold again, and the Pot was empty
Then on into another long very warm day, not much doing in the afternoon
Made a Dinner of Ham with Pineapple and baked Sweet Potato to end up the day

Now what's this, Sunday? Well about time to drag the hose out again and water everything
I'll water everything out front, then upthe Hill to spray the Miracle-Gro again

~ Now Off to end up the Weekend ~ Ever Onward and Upward! ~

~ Another 'Blu-U Therapy' Session Friday ~
~ New Lap Top Speakers Delivered ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ A Bee Stealing my Pollen ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Off at 9:15 a.m. to head to the Dermatologist Office for another Blu-U Therapy treatment
And I saw online that my new Laptop Speakers were out for delivery and the UPS man usually shows up around Noon
Anyway I had to keep that appointment, get it out of the way for the next Session whatever there

And I showed up about 9:30, had a seat, only waited a few Minutes to get called in, GOOD!
And the Technician smeared the goop on my arms, wrapped me up in Plastic wrap and sent me to the Waiting Room
That was about 9:45 then, two hours to wait usually after the Chemical application
But she was ready for me right at 11:00 a.m. Propped me up in the Chair and hit me with the Blue Rays
That is on a Timer for 16 minutes or so and the Machine went humming away, and done about 11:30

So I headed back to Parkville hoping to out race the UPS man, back at 11:45
Then I wasn't back for five minutes when the Big Brown Truck drove up, hauled in my Package...HAH!

Ok, opened my package and dug in, a Power Adapter, Blue Tooth Receiver, Woofer and two Speakers
And no instructions except a few 1,2,3,4 drawings, easy enough to hook up, but not how to get the Blue Tooth going
I thought I could figure it out, hooked everything up, put some Music on the Laptop and NO SOUND
Well they had a cable included for a wired connection, tried that and it worked
So that meant that the Laptop was just not finding the Wireless Receiver, got online for help
That helped a little but I did the routine and no success, kept fiddling around and finally some progress
I had to go to 'Blue Tooth Settings' several times before the Receiver started blinking and ready for the Laptop
Then on the Setting Page the Laptop finally found the Receiver and started 'Pairing' and finally 'Connected!
And then I played some Music and Hey! it sounded pretty good, and I have another Tech Toy I didn't really need

By that time it was time for my Manhattan and into an inside Afternoon, have to stay out of the Sun a couple days
This time it didn't sting too bad and it all went away while I was playing with the Speakers
You know that 'Wireless' tag is kinda overstated, yeah no wire from the Laptop to the Blue Tooth Receiver
But there is a wire from the Power Supply to the Woofer, then a wire from the Woofer to each side Speaker and the Receiver
Well, I can do about the same thing... PLUS put the Computer screen and sound on my TV with just one HDMI Cable

So really, what did I need this Speaker System for? Just another Tech Toy to play with
Well, if I used it in another scenario where my Surround System wasn't available I guess
But anyway it does sound good and more Tech Gear to clutter up the Living Room

Anyway... on to another Day and another Weekend

~ Ever Onward and Upward! ~

~ Two More Blooms but still No Females ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Well now, once again, out and up the Hill at 8 a.m. Back in dripping Wet again at 9 a.m.
Pretty warm already but kind of hazy sun, that helped some but a lot of Humididity! (my spelling)
So what to do? First checked for a Female Pumpkin Blossom, still none but a bee working away in a Male Blossom
So I got a Photo and then checked the Cucumber patch and all gone, whatever it was got them all

~ Cukes on June 04 ~ And June 13 ~

I had already pulled all the no go Radishes out of there, I pulled the rest of the Cucumber roots out
Then I raked the Bed, then planted Swiss Chard, see what that does, I'll get some Seed and try Cucumbers again too

And then I dragged the Hose up the Hill, hooked up my 'Sevin' Sprayer and sprayed everything up there for bugs
Then back down to spray all the Rose plants in front of my place and next door too, all done for the Day

Back in to shower off any Chiggers and get ready for the new Day, what's the Plan? Ain't none
Well, get some Cucumber Seeds and Lotto Scratchers of course... and stuff to make a Cake
So, since Seeds are something that is not availble in our Shopping Center that I know of
I headed up the Road to Kmart, walked 1/4 mile from the entrance to the Garden Department
And picked up two packs of Cucumber Seeds, buy one get one free, and the 'Straight Eight' type
I used to grow those with great success back in my St Joseph Garden

And then back by Kicks 66 for four more DUD Scratch Tickets... Bah! Humbug
Then next door to the Price Chopper for my Cake Mixings, look at all that good stuff!

~ All these Goodies go in my Special Spice Fruitcake ~

And so I whupped up the Cake Mixings and into the Oven at 3:30 p.m. and then out abuot 4:30 to cool
Was looking perfect, this one I did as a Sheet Cake, sometimes I do it in a Tube Pan

~ The Latest, Maybe the Greatest Spice Fruitcake ~

On into the Afternoon as usual, my Manhattan was a couple hours late, was a busy kind of day
Then I made some Potato Soup, sometimes just get the hankering for that
Well also, I had a lot of Celery to use up and I like a lot of Celery and Onions in my Potato Soup
Potatoes, Celery, Onions, sauteed in Olive Oil and Butter, add Milk and Salt and Pepper... Wah Lah! Super Soup!

Some more TV and Snacks and that wound up another good day, how about another

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Well now, I saw online the tracking number for my new MO Lotto T-shirt it said 'Delivered June 7'
OK, delivered where, sure not to my Mailbox, I called MO Lottery, they said call the Post Office
So I trotted down to the Post Office in Parkville and pled my Case
They said you have to go to the Riverside Post Office... What? Way over there?
She says you can call them and gave me the number, OK I called, gave them the Tracking Number
And the guy says hang on and off he went, then says it is here, come and get it
Well it's not all that far but far enough when they could have dropped it in my MailBox like all the others
And whos fault, well the Mailman at USPS, that's who, they are getting some dud people lately

And so back to the Ranchito, already 90 degrees, that's kinda HOT ain't it?
Anyway not too hot to get out front and take a new Photo of my Beefy Boy Tomato plant
Looking good, has two Tomatoes on it and has reached a full five feet in the Pot and still going

Into a routine afternoon, nothing much happening except the weather and that was nice and hot
Hot enough that it was wilting my Tomato Plant so I hooked up the Hose and watered everything in front
And that Tomato Plant picked right up with a few Gallons of water in the Pot, recovered fast

Then I took a break with a Botella of Negra Modelo Cervesa for a switcheroo from my Manhattan
And I tried a couple of my Pickled Eggs at TV time, a good start on the pickling taste
But they need more time in the Fridge. I like a more tangy pickle taste

~ Trying those Pickled Eggs ~

And then later, some more of that Pizza and that finished off the day
Now a late start on Thursday... 7:30 and just finishing up this Diatribe to post
Next I want to get back up on that Hill to do something this Morning... What?
Well, several choices, I'll think something up an then CHARGE! up that Hill

And it was back out again first thing on Tuesday Morning, well not first thing
I slept in til 6 a.m. and puttered around a little and headed up the Hill about 9 a.m.
The Sun kinda hazy and not all that warm yet but I worked up a sweat again
I raked up another Big load of Trash into the 'Trash Basket' and dragged it to the Ditch
And now, One 'Sawing Session', another 'Raking Session' and that area will be just about finished
And that completes the major part of the Jungle Clearing out there for now

~ Latest Trash Dumped ~ A Couple More Sessions to Go ~

And then over to the Pumpkin Patch to check for Blooms again, but only Male Blossoms
But the Vines look good and later than sooner a Female Blossom will show up (I Hope)

~ Punpkin Patch Looking Good ~ No Pumpkins Pollinated Yet ~

Then off to the Shower and then off to Kicks 66 and that BIG lotto winner waiting for me
But then just some modest wins, no profit for Tuesday I think, but didn't keep track
Then I tried out my new 'Egg Ring', made a Ham and Egg on English Muffin, the Egg just fits the Muffin

~ Cookin that Egg in my new Egg Ring ~

On to a rather warm and nice Day, nothing special, just nice, wanted to get back up the Hill out back
But then, it got Hot and thinking of those darn Chiggers, that can wait for whenever
And so, what's for dinner? AHA! That DiGiorno Pizza still in the Freezer, I hotted that up
Pretty good for Store bought but I could only put away about 1/4th of it, good for later though
That was it for Tuesday, headed down to the Coffee House this morning, Lewis Jonas and Don Kixmiller were there
I gave Lewis a Blu-ray DVD of the Day Camp Videos, we had a good Chat and then I headed out to Kicks 66
Got my Lottos at Kicks, headed home to scratch off NADA!... DARN!
Next got to head to the Post Office and see what happened to my Latest Lotto T-Shirt Prize...

~So... Off to another Day! ~ Ever Onward and Upward! ~

~ Busy and Fun Day on Monday ~

Well now Monday turned out to be a pretty good day and pretty Warm too in the afternoon
I started out right at Kicks 66 winning $44 in Lottos, the set off on a Shopping Spree
I had that fresh Pineapple Top I wanted to plant and needed a Pot and Soil
So first to Lowes for that, found a nice Pot, a little larger than I wanted but the Price was right
And stopped by Bed Bath and Beyond for a couple of Egg cooking rings, cooks a nice round Egg
Then by K-Mart, for all my new Shirts, I needed more of those nice fat plastic Hangers

Then I stopped in the Complex Office to give Boss Bob his receipt for the Bushes I planted
Later he dropped by my place and gave me a Check for $50, covered the plants cost and a nice Bonus
And finally some time in the Afternoon I planted that Pineapple Top in my new Pot

Then thinking of what's for Dinner, I wanted some Broccoli to go with a nice Pork Chop
So back to the Price Chopper for that and a few Items for this and that and more Lottos
Back then to scratch off another $21 in wins, nice fat profit for the Day for a change

And later, I browned up that Pork Chop nicely, Cheesed up the Broccoli, toasted up a slice of Home Made Bread
And finally what a Dandy Dish to set before King Donald... ending up a ROYAL DAY!

Now what, Tuesday morning, nice day ahead, may head back up the hill to dump some more Trash in the Gully

~ Halfway Through June Already ~
~ And a real Quiet Sunday ~

~ My Oriental Lily June 09, 11 and 14 ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Well what for Sunday? Not much to write Home about except the fine Weather
That is after the Rain stopped early and the Sun came out, then up the Hill to check the Pumpkin Patch
And it was about Noon and all the Blossoms were closed or closing and still no Females
You have to catch those Blossoms early, they only last about half the Day before they droop and close

And then off on my Ticket chase, shudda stayed home, only one $10 winner again
Then I had my Brunch when I got back, Ham, Egg and Cheese on a Toasted English Muffin... Yeah
I took a pack of Easter Ham out of the Freezer to thaw for that Sandwich, need to be using it up
So then I thought, Ham and Baked Sweet Potato goes good, back to the Chopper for Sweet Taters
Got a couple and then saw Pineapple on a good Sale again, had to try that, got some Milk and headed for Home

And so... My back lot Cleaning Up is winding down, still just that one Area I want to do
If the Rain would stop it would help, makes it muddy and slick up there
I just need to cut a few more little Trees and then rake the Trash out of that Area and then DONE!
Well, except for some Maintenance that will continue as always, never totaly done
So I thought I would head back up and tackle that this Morning...

So, out and up the Hill at 72 Degrees at 7 a.m. Checked the Pumpkin Bloooms... No Go
Then I checked the Cucumber Bed, and my Spraying didn't help, all the Leaves gone and eating the Stems now
So what now, buy some more Spray and start again, thought I would plant some Swiss Chard in that Bed too
Next, I headed over to tackle that last Area I want to clear out some, just clipped some Brush and then raked
Several little Trees, and one Thicket I want to saw down, then the major work is all done

~ Area Cleared Monday ~ Trees to be Cut ~ Trash to Haul to the Gully ~

And then, enough for one warm Morning, headed back in at 74 Degrees at 8 a.m. for Clean-up
Now to post my Daily Dribble and head out for my Lottos... On to another Gorgeous Day!

~ Some Grass Trimming Early ~
~ Some 'Pizza and Wings' Later ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Out and up the Hill at 9 a.m. on Saturday, plugged in my Weed Eater
And I trimmed in front and back of the Garden Beds and then attacked the far left side area
You can't really tell from the Photo here how much I have cleared from that area
From this distance it all pretty much looks the same but it is about 10 feet farther into that Brush
And I have the Grass now trimmed back to the upper side of tha Drainage Ditch
The Mowing Crew left about 5 feet of grass on the lower side of the Ditch, I'll fix that
Well it is really wet up there now and their big old Mower can't navigate it

~ Just About Finished ~ June 9th and June 14th ~

~ The Way it Looked May 20 ~

Then I was off on my daily Treasure hunt and only won $11... Loss of $6, well it's only Money
So no plans for the Day so it was back to the Price Chopper for another full Pack of Tickets
Seems I haven't learned my Lesson yet as I have never found a BIG ONE in a full Pack
Shows you how rare they are, I have won several $100 ones but never over $50 in a full Pack
And this time the same, biggest was a $40 Win, Total Win was $190.00... Lost $110.00

That was about all the action for the Day, and a beautiful Day it was, just perfect weather!
Then I was thinking 'What's for DInner?' and was thinking Pizza, back to the Price Chopper
That DiGiorno Pizza is usually pretty good and I saw they had a new Pack, Pizza and Wings
And $2.00 off so I picked out a 'Supreme Rising Crust with Chicken Wings'
And since the pile of 'Wings' was ample I just baked those up for a late lunch

~ DiGiorno Pizza with Wings just out of the Box ~

Well those sure were not 'Wings' a boneless hunk of breaded Breast Meat like a 'Chicket Nugget
But they were tasty with the included Honey BBQ Dipping Sauce, I would prefer to do my own Wings next time
I didn't try the Pizza, I might get at that today

And so now, Sunday Morning and storming a bit at 6 a.m. and I had wanted to mow some this Morning
But it is too wet for that now so what else is there to do on a wet Sunday Morning?

~ Super Lotto Prize! ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Well Now I forgot to mention that on Thursday Morning I got this surprise Email frm the Missouri Lottery
"Donald, Your entry in the "Second Chance of a Lifetime: Outdoor Adventures" promotion at MO Lottery.com
Was randomly drawn as a second-prize winner today, Thursday, June 12, in the first of four promotional drawings
As a second-prize winner, you get to pick your own prize from a variety of adventure gear options
Please follow this link to the Missouri Lottery's website to make your selection"

So I chose what I thought was the Best Prize, that outdoor Cooker up there in the corner
I don't really need it as I have that big Smoker out fromt for most of my Cook-outs
But I can probably sell it easy if I choose to, I have three offers already

And then Friday Morning it was Up and at 'Em and up the Hill in back at 8 a.m. to check the Pumpkin Patch
And one new large Male Pumpkin Blossom but still no Female Blooms
Then a check of the Cucumber Bed... OH NO! What is this?, something ate off most of the Leaves!
I notice a few missing a couple days ago but nothing like this, almost every plant with leaves gone
So back down the Hill to get my Sprayer, still had some Insecticide in it
So I sprayed all the Plants real good, hope that will take care of it

~ Bugs in my Cucumber Bed! ~

Then back inside to get ready for the Day and out to the Price Chopper for my Lottos
Not bad but not so good either, an $11 Win, a slight loss.. Oh Well...
That was it for the Morning runaround, then biding time to head over to the Nature Sanctuary

I headed over the Hill to the Nature Sanctuary about 11 a.m. Several were gathered at the Entrance area
Director Bob Fluchel was there and getting ready to head up to the Girl Scout Cabin
But first he wanted to interview one of the Campers there, so I Videoed that
Then he offered me a ride to the Cabin where they were getting ready for the Lunch Hot Dog oast
That was a welcome ride for me, that hill up to the Cabin is getting steeper every year for me
They unloaded some supplies from the Easy-Go cart, things to add to the Lunch

Then the first group of Campers came in from their completed activity, ready for a Hot Dog
But until the rest of the Campers showed up, Bob Fluchel wanted to do some Interviews
Bob interviewed several from that Group and then more when others arrived
I got Video from the Interviews and then while they were having Hod Dogs and CHips
And then the Finale when they headed down the Trail for the Last Event, the Creek Walk

And then, a walk back down the Trail with Jim Reed and Don Kixmiller to the Entrance area
Jumped into the Blazer and headed Home for an afternoon of Editing, Rendering and Uploading
Then I posted the Video on Facebook, the Nature Sanctuary Facebook page and the PNS Website

And last, posted it here on 'My Page' for anyone who checks may view it
I am sure the Parents and PNS Staff Members will enjoy it and it was a Fun Day for me too
