~ And I Pickled Peppers Again ~

~ Third Crop this Season ~ Third Half Pint ~

A slow September so far... Only the third? And so much going on it seems
Well, not so much yesterday though... Besides picking and pickling peppers
But first I drove over to talk to the Dentist's secretary about the next Step, the Crown
I had checked online, the going rate runs from $600 to over $1,000 depending on Dentist and material
She said their rate was about $850.. Ouch again! But they accept payments
I have a check-up and cleaning appointment on september 24, we'll talk Crown then...

And then I picked all the Jalapenos, then pickled them, that is so easy
Got a full half pint there, and that is probably the last of those this year
Three half pints off one plant is a good crop... The Poblanos didn't do as good

Now the Sage plant looks like it needs harvesting again, whenever I get to that
And a few more Better Boys tomatoes are showing up, not many now though
Looks like the Garden season is waning, I will have to find something else to bore people with
Looks like a boring month for ME... Spent all my Casino money on that root canal

~ But There is a New Month Coming..... Isn't There? ~

~ Not A Fun Day! ~

~ Oh No! Root Canal! ~

~ Like This for Two Hours!

Well, No, not quite, this looks more like my Dentist than the Endodontist, He poked for a couple minutes, she drilled for two hours
So, after chat and writing my BLOG, Clean up and a raisin oatmeal cookie, brushed my teeth and headed to the Dentist
This was mainly for a conference and what to do next, he called the Endodontist and they had a cancellation
So I headed back home to wait the time to go back at 12:30 p.m. not far from my regular Dentist

So, then to determine which tooth and what procedure, decided on that one right there... And a Root Canal
After discussing costs, she says "Let's get started" and away we went
The cost for that tooth was $850.00, Of course my Dental Plan won't pay that much, my share is $567.00 ...OUCH!
And that doesn't count the cost for the Crown restoration that comes next... That will delay my new computer.. looks like

Anyway off we go on a tedious procedure, not usually all that bad, but I had a hitch in my canal it seems
She ran into some calcification, hard to follow the root... But after close to two hours finally got there
But at the very tip, a curve or two she coudn't get to... Said that shouldn't matter

They had some very sophisticated digital gear to work with... Instant computer X-ray and Monitor on the wall
I could see the progress and the final result, the little curves at the tip

So finally headed home with numbed lip and jaw and not feeling all that good after the ordeal
But I made some nice potato soup for dinner and mixed a manhattan... And as the evening wore on, I felt better
I did take a couple aspirin before bed, and later got up for another couple, and a couple this morning so far

Now, but when?, I have to go back to my regular Dentist for a Crown and restoration, and that is no real fun
Takes a lot of grinding and a temporary Crown and a second trip when the permanent Crown is ready
And the worst part... A lot of COST! Well, I didn't really need a new computer anyway just yet...

~ HAPPY NEW MONTH! ~

~ And PAY DAY A Day Early! ~

~ A Nice Roll ~ 250 Credits ~ $62.50 Win!

Surprise... Surprise! Headed out for the Price Chopper, stopped for the mail... LOOKEE THERE!
My IBM Check a day early, How do they do that?.. Sometimes it is early, but NEVER is it late
Supposed to be in my Mail Box or in the Bank on the First, Always is unless the First is on a weekend or Holiday
Then it is early, but no weekend or Holiday this time, anyway tickled to see it!
So, straight to the bank and then back home to pay all the monthly bills, such fun!

Picked up a dud Bingo and Crossword at the Chopper, now that won't do...
So After my bill paying I headed back by the ATM, got a couple Twenties and headed to the Casino

It was just about 10 a.m. I like to go early, less crowd, less smoke, less noise
Stuck in my $40 for 160 credits and played away.. Not doing much good, rolling no big ones at all
So slowly I wore away my credits... Down to 22 credits.. That is $5.50.. and hit Two Sevens and a Five Times.. Now that is NICE!
A 250 Credit win... $62.50... With my remaining $5.50, cashed out for $68.00 and got outta there
A nice little win for 30 minutes of my time

And that -IF-... If those Sevens had been the same color... Two Blue Sevens would have been 400 Credita
Two White Sevens would have been 500 credits... And two Red Sevens would be 600 credits... Oh well...
ONE TIME, and one time only... I hit One Red Seven and TWO Five Times and won $500.... Nice... 25 times 120 Credits...

So then what, Stopped by the Riverside RED-X for a Bingo and Crossword and no go on either
Back by the Chopper for some ground beef, made 8 big burgers, broiled and stored all but one for dinner.. YUM!
BUT... It was a bit of a chore to chew that burger, I didn't get fixed at the dentist... Hurts to chew now
Got worse every day since I went Friday... So... back to the Dentist this morning, Oh well, win some, lose most..

~ That BLT Again ~

~ (Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Sandwich, You Know) ~

~ Open Face... Or Sliced? ~

Lessee, what day is this? Oh yeah Tuesday... all day... So what yesterday?
Not much besides a little cooking... Started with that BLT Sandwich, but not much cooking to that
Sliced up a nice Tomato, toasted up a couple slices of whole wheat bread, nuked up some bacon
Then spread on some Spin Blend (better than Miracle Whip)(tastier than Mayo)
Then piled it all on the sandwich, took time for a couple pictures and then attacked it with Gusto!
Like Paula Deen says "It's sooooooo good"

And then out to pick the last 4 Rutgers tomatoes and pull up the plant and into the dumpster
Pulled the big pot back to the veranda for the winter, Rutgers season complete
Then back inside to start on the salsa

Kind of a long drawn out process... Chunked up and ground up all the Poblano peppers
Just a bit spicy, they made me cough and tear up as I seeded them
Put that into the pot and then did the same with a big sweet onion, and a couple garlic cloves
Next, processed all the Rutgers tomatoes and into the pot... Now simmer away an hour or two

Back in later to taste.. Yeah that's plenty spicy.. Well all those Poblanos...
Added salt, black pepper and sugar.. Yeah a teaspoon or so of sugar brings out the flavor...
Then some cumin, basil and oregano and to cut down on the heat some, a can of diced tomatoes, drained
Let that all simmer some more, then a taste.. Yeah! Just right, really tasty and not too much heat

So then for a taste test, thawed out a frozen burrito, some cheese and lots of salsa on top and Oh Yeah!
This time a really winner Salsa.. and NO Jalapenos, only home grown Poblanos
And about a quart of that stuff left to freeze for later...OLE!
