Friday Morning, glum looking morning, cloudy but warm, supposed to be a little cooler, top of 84
Doesn't say anything about Rain but it looks like it could any minute...
And so, I finished my Morning Computering and then installed the new Power Supply
Powered it up, and the same results, Fans start, Mother Board light on, but no go to boot
So back where I started, at a loss for the moment, maybe call Dell Support again
And off to the Coffee House at 8 a.m. I had some fresh picked Tomatoes for my Friend Lewis
But no one from the usual Gang was there, so off to the Minit Mart for Lottos
Traded in a $5 Winner for another try, dug out a $20 Bill for Four more and lost the whole thing... Boo Hoo
So back home and up the Hill, on back to check things, looks like we got a real good Rain overnight
And the Gardens looked great, another Cucumber almost ready and I picked Three more ripe Tomatoes
That was about it for a just 'kickin back' Friday, not much more to do all that long Day
So let's try this long Weekend and see what we can come up with... Tally Ho!
Surprize Thursday Morning early. is that Rain I hear out there? Took a peek, yeah really teeming
Well Mike said we would have Showers slipping in later in the Day but not in the Morning, anyway it didn't last long
The Rain stopped and the sun came out and we ended up with another nice HOT Day
And no plans for the Day except wait for the new Power Supply for my Dell One that won't come on
So I fed the Cat, headed to the Fast Stop for Lottos, only won $10, back to the Price Chopper and only won $5
What to do until my Power Supply is delivered late in the Afternoon? Thought up another Project
I just created a Video History Facebook Page so how about a web page with all my Parkville Videos on it?
The Facebook Page was easiest, I just added the Links to each Video, but there are over 50 Videos
There you just click on the Video and it will play on Facebook, doesn't work that way on a Web Page
I wanted each Video ready to play on the page, to do that you have to 'Embed' the Video link to each Video
That tales a bit more time, but I had a lot of time so I embedded away through the Day
Unpacked to check it out, but after my Margarita I wasn't ready to plug in all those wires so I put it off
Back then to wind up the Day with more TV and Dinner... Start on the Power Supply install on Friday
Ok that done, front and back all watered before 8:30 a.m. Time for a shower in case I picked up any bugs back there
And I did pick two more nice Cucumbers while I was back there, Four so far
The Cat was waiting out front for Breakfast but I was out of Chicken Gizzards for him
So he would have to wait until I headed to the Price Chopper for those and my Lottos
And so, Off to the Price Chopper for my Cat Food and Lottos, won $15, a loss of $5
Then I fed the Cat, had a late Breakfast, tried my new Pie, but I like plain Rhubarb better
I tried Rhubarb Strawberry Pie once before, not my favorite... and so what to do all Day on a very HOT Day!
Well then, no other plans, thinking of those Video Posts I made on the 'Parkville History Page'
I got a tremendous bunch of 'Likes' from other Group Members but I got a note from the Page originator
He suggested I put my Videos in their 'Video Section'... I checked it out, not convenient
There were only three tiny Vides there of some Waterfall, so it apparently doesn't draw much attention
And you have to post the Video File, would not accept the Link to my Vimeo Site so not worth the effort for me
So I created a new Facebook page for my Parkville Videos, "Parkville Recent History"
And posted about all the Parkville Videos I could find on Vimeo there, it is at this link:
And then on to the rest of the Day, decided to go trade in the $15 of Lotto Winners to try for more
I got them and headed back, saw the Complex Owner as she pulled into the Office, stopped to talk
She asked of I had a Bill for my Planter expenses for her, I told her I hadn't expected payment
But I did have receipts from Lowes for the Supplies I bought, so she paid me for them, HAH! Can get more Lottos!
So that was pretty much it for the Day, too hot to be outside for anything
And I just whiled away the Afternoon and Evening, lots of TV and Movies, Ho Hum...
And another Hot one predicted for Thursday, I have had all the Summer I need I think...
Next, ready for the Day... Headed to the Fast Stop for Lottos, cashed in $25 worth and bought $25 Worth
Then back home to scratch off the Best Winner so far for July, a nice $50 One!
So I headed back to the Fast Stop to get my $30 Cash and Four more Lottos for $20 and then won back $15
Then thinking I would harvest Rhubarb again and this time make a Pie, decided on a Rhubarb Strawberry Pie
So I stopped in the Price Chopper after the Fast Stop to get some Pie Stuff, then back to snip some Rhubarb
And on to the Pie making and baking... Had the bottom Crust out of the Freezer to thaw and one refrigerated top Crust out to warm up a tad
Dumped the Rhubarb and Strawberries in a bowl, added Sugar, Corn Starch, Cinnamom and Nutmeg
Into the Crust and then into the Oven and then enjoyed the Aroma for an hour or so
About the time I started on the Pie I got a call from my Friend Pat, 'Are you receiving Guests Today?'
'But of course'... She said she would be over about 1:30 p.m. I went back to play around on the Computer
A little later a knock on the Door, she came in, we sat and had some catch up chat, then some Videos
Then that beep beep and I took the Pie out of the Oven to cool... And back to the TV
And then Cervesa and Margarita and Movie Time... We rewatched the old original 'Psycho' Movie...
The Evening approached and so it was departure time, I boxed her up a slice of my new Pie
Some Smoked Chicken and BBQ Ribs from the Freezer, out for a look at my new Planter and then off up the Hill
Nothing left for the Day but find something for Dinner and that I did...
A little more TV Time and then off to Dreamland again
Ho Hum... 8:30 a.m. what now, bored already and hadn't even had Breakfast... I did hit the Price Chopper already
I fed the Cat on the way out... Then managed to lose $25... Five loser Cards in a row, drat... So now what?
Nice start to the Day, Sunny and 80 degrees already, saying going to 95, not outside weather for me
Thought I would take a quick run out back to check while it was bit cooler
Up the Stairs and out back, lotsa Blooms on the Cukes, one nice Pepper on the Maxibell Plant
Some tiny Beets could be pulled to make 'Baby' Pickled Beets... Swiss Chard looking good
And Four of those 'Better Boys' Tomatoes can be harvested on Tuesday! No new Pumpkin Blooms though
A trot up to the Bench to take a Photo of the Biggest Canna plant, can see that one from the Street
And another Photo of the Rhubarb, another Harvest for Tuesday looks like... More sauce or a Pie?
On the way back in, picked a peck of those tiny Peppers again and a Sweet Pepper to go with my Cucumber for Salad
Then I pickled all those little Peppers, about 25 of them but only made about a Third of a half Pint Jar
And then, just cruisiog on the Net on Facebook... I got an Invitation to join the 'Parkville Missouri History' group
So I joined, then Posted a .gif of some Parkville Photos, started getting 'Likes right away
So then I posted a Parkville Video... and more Likes, I posted a couple more Videos and went on to other things
Next, Tuesday Morning I checked again and over 160 Likes, more than I ever got from my Posts on my own Timeline
All from local Parkville People. they sure do seem to like my stuff, so then I posted another Video Tuesday Moring
But back to finishing out Monday, made a Salad from my own Home Grown Cucumber and Green Pepper
And some Sweet Onion and Roma tomato from the Price Chopper and with home made Italian Dressing
Then the usual afternoon TV Session with more of my Guacamole and Tortilla Chips with my Margarita
Later then, Dinner with my fresh made... Partly 'Home Grown' Salad.... And 'How Sweet it Is!'
Then early Morning and I got up to start my Day, mixed my Juice, put the Coffee on
Then I tried the ailing Computer, pushed the On Button, I could hear it start, but then nothing
The Monitor would not come on with any Message, and then the Computer would shut down
So I got online to do some research on the Problem, they offered several Ideas and Tests
I tried a few things, nothing worked so I gave up for now, still have three working Desktops
One of the Ideas I read was Power Supply failure, that just might be it, but for now, let it wait
On to the Day, a few Days back I was wanting to spray some Miracle-Gro out back so that was the first thing
On with my Shoes and hooked up the Hose and then headed out back at 7 a.m., Sunny and 70 Degrees
I hit the Punpkin Vines, Swiss Chard, Tomatoes, Peppers, Beets and Cucumbers with a good bath of Miracle-Gro
Hope this peps them up some but they are looking pretty good already, picked one more nice Cucumber
And then I dragged the Hose around front and gave all the Plants and Veggies some of the Miracle-Gro too
Ooops. just remembered I didn't water the Coleus Stairway Planter, I'll do that with my Watering Can later
Moving on into the Morning, into the Shower and then off to find the Day's Fortune, where might it be?
Decided the Price Chopper again and won exactly Nothing all over again... DANG!
So then the Big Question, what to do for the rest of this long looking Hot and Sunny Sunday?
Well I was cruising on the Web, saw an AARP article saying how Avocados were so good for you
Helps keep down the Cholesterol for you old fogies now taking Drugs for that, AHA! So, Let's do Guacamole!
I trotted back to the Price Chopper, got Onions, Avocados and Tomatoes, back to chop and stir
So, Avocado, Onion, Tomato, Cilantro, Garlic, Lime Juice, we forget anything? Took a taste, yeah that'll do<
Would have some Guacamole and 'On the Border' Tortilla Chips with my Margarita at Afternoon TV time
Then a Margarita and some outside time on the Veranda with the Cat and the Birds and Bees
Enough of that and then back inside for some of that Guacamole and Tortilla Chips and TV
On into the Evening and a nice finish with a dish of Black Walnut Ice Cream, my favorite from way back
Now let's head to whatever Monday brings, it might bring a Visitor. let's see
And then everything sort of back in place, I took some new Video, thought I would make a catch up of the last few Days
Then I made a Video of my 'Stair Fix' project photos and added the restoning photos to that
I think that made a nice Video to post on my Blog and also to send to the owner of the Complex
And then a Call from my Friend at 'The Station' over on I-435, Rion, used to work at the Price Chopper
On Facebook Messenger he sends... 'Hey'.. I answer 'Hey, Huh?'...
He asks... I was wondering since I got my balance paid down some if I have any available credit lol
'I says what ya need?'... He says... 'Dell is having a sale. I need a Laptop for work'<
Well he showed me the Sale, I didn't think that was such a good Deal, he asked if I might want to sell mine
I said I just might... I never use it much, come on over and look and he did in just a few Minutes
So he checked it out, thought it just might do for his purpose, and we decided on a Price and the Deal was Set
But then he stayed a bit until he had to head to work, we watched my Web Stuff, some Videos, lots of Photos
Be is pretty much Computer Savvy and we had a good time talking Computer stuff, finally he had to take off
And that was the bright Spot of the Day, Margarita time then and on into the usual Afternoon, put a burger out to thaw
And then... had an early Salad and was watching TV and got a knock on the Door, neighbor guy wanted to borrow my Rake
He was raking the Stones they dumped in his Yard too, they had smoothed them out some but not near enough
So I gave him the Rake and we stared talking abiut this and thent, then I offered him an extra Shelf I had
No use for it and was like new but in my way and he said he could use it, took it out of my Computer Room
He noticed all my Computers and we started talking Electronics, and talked quite awhile, he knows his stuff
We finally ran down and he took off to do his raking, he said he wanted to drop in again, well shore...
Then on to my Burger and Dinner and TV and then up later than usual before heading to Bed... Sunday next...
So, poured my Coffee, worked my Crossword and off to 'work'... I have been wanting to mow up on the Hill around my Bench
The Mowing Crew has been getting closer than they used to but not behind, too hard to travel back there
I plugged in my Electric Cord, dragged my little Mower up the Hill and started in, back and forth
Got a nice area cleared farther up that steep Hill than the Crew goes usually
I noticed though when I mow higher, they do too the next time they show up, showing them the outer perimeter
They don't usually mow close to my Garden Beds either but this time they did and mowed down one little Orange Tree
So I headed back in about 8 a.m, dripping wet and ready for the Shower, got that prep all done
And I headed out to the Minit Mart for a BIG Win of $10, lost $10 on that deal too
Back home to see the Maintenance Man's Truck next Door with a load of Gravel for the front Areas
The original Stone surface was put there about 16 years ago and was getting washed out and worn in
So I mixed me a nice wet Margarita and went back out to see if I could tolerate the Heat while I watched the birdies
Well I made it for about a half Hour, delightful weather if a bit warm, the Crew showed up with another Load
They dumped about half of it right in front of me, then drove next Door to dump the rest
And that was enough for me, back inside to put a smoked Chicken Thigh out to thaw and watch TV
A productive enough Day by that time for me to kick back and then just coast until Bedtime
Well then, it was NOT enough for me quite yet... I got bored with the TV, mixed another Margarita and back out front
And more going on, so I had to sit and watch and enjoy the heat again, right at 90 Degrees
The Crew was back at it again, smoothing out the Gravel first with the ATV and then with rakes and shovels
They were hardly breaking a sweat, I would have been dripping out there, anyway finally smoothed
And then they took off for other other projects, now I have something to do tomorrow, replace the Plants
Nothing much needed to be done, thought I would check out back first for a Pumpkin Bloom
And there were three nice big Male Blooms and a Bumble Bee flitting around ready to pollenate
Maybe if I do get a Female Bloom he will be around to do the Pollenating for me
The blooming Canna I transplanted up by the Bench has a nice bigger Bloom, looks like it wlll look better on Friday
There are 7 more Cannas up there but just holdimg on, not going anywhere fast
And then on to along hot day, nothing much happening after the Morning run around
The rest of these days is usually pleasant but just not much happening except the usual
What's tomorrow anyway? Friday? Oh yeah...
I guess the first order of Business today is taking down the Flags and Flag Fans until Labor Day
I'll put the Missouri State Flag back out to keep some Color out front, looks nice waving in the breeze
And then, off to the Price Chopper to find some Winners, in short supply for the 5th, only 1 $10 Win
So then what to do on a nice hazy Sunny Day? A slice of my newly baked Bread toasted, with Butter and Rhubarb Sauce
And then took my Video Camera out front to get some Video before I took all the Flags down
I got that and then started on a July Garden catch up Video, something to work on when I get bored
While I was doing my Video I saw that the Eggplants had gotten more size and look really good
It shouldn't be too long now before I can snip one off the Plant and make some Oven Fries
And another minor Task, got my Slicer out of the Pantry and sliced up my latest Home Baked Bread
Looks more like Bread when sliced up than that hunk of stuff looked like, but like someone took a bite out it
So what else was so momentous for Wednesday, not much. some Veranda sitting and sipping again
About all that was left was TV and a Burger later but a pretty good Day again... One more please?
And so, finished and posted my Monday Blog, worked my Crossword, caught up with my Email
Into the Shower, Shampoo and Shave and then... a little after 8 a.m. a low rumble of Thunder
And do I hear Rain? Forecast didn't say Rain... Looked out and there was a river in the middle of the Street
This might put a real damper on the Fourth of July Parade, they start forming about this time up by the Price Chopper
Well the Parade starts at 10 a.m. Maybe it will stop by then, sure didn't look like it at 8:30 a.m.
As for my Plans, looks like they were washed out, watered yesterday in Front, no need to water out back now
Ho and Hum, what to do on a gray wet Day? Well feed the Cat, he was waiting for me as I left to head to the Minit Mart
So I fed him Breakfast when I got back, there was a little dry spot on the Porch for him
And I won $15 from my First try, decided to go back about 10 a.m. and trade for more tries, this time Price Chopper
Then this time the Parade was forming up on the Street behind the Price Chopper, got my Tickets and some Photos
The Parade started moving out right on time at 10 a.m. and it was still raining lightly, not dampening their Spirits though
Well yes it did stop, I decided to make some Bread about 2 p.m. The sun was shining bright by then
Got the Bread mixed, into the Machine, filled and running, mixed my Margarita and headed for a TV catch up
On into my TV afternoon, and I got bored with TV and took my Margarita out front to enjoy the Weather
The Temperature was just right and the Sun was shining bright and it was just loverly!
My Margarita ran out so back inside to dish up my Salad and catch up to the TV again
And I might have made too much Salad, Lettuce, Tomato, Green Pepper, Cucumber and Ranch Dressing
And some Snacker Crackers to along with it, so much Salad that I wasn't hungry for any Dinner
My Bread Machine finally finished it's latest try and shut off, I popped the Loaf out to cool
Funny looking Loaf this time, maybe my Yeast is getting tired, anyway took out the Loaf and wrapped it
Just might slice it up Wednesday Morning and have some of it with Rhubarb Sauce for Breakfast
It was a really warm Day for sitting out front on Sunday and will be again for Monday, saying 90
Maybe I need to sip my Margarita on my Bench up on the Hill, great View from up there and shady in the Afternoon
So, then finishing out the Morning on the Computer... A bit of good luck before Breakfast
I was entering my loser Tickets for Points for Prizes and found a Winner for $5, need to trade that in for more
And off to the Price Chopper to try my luck again, didn't quite make it, only won $10
Then a quick trot up the Hill to check the Pumpkin Blooms again, no luck so far, just Male Blooms
First the Cucumbers, watching the first one, looks like I just might pick it on Tuesday
On into another Beautiful Day but on the Hot side... Around 80 or so is fine with me, no like 90
Well, I was planning on dragging the Hose out back to water and fertilize back there
But that Sun and Temps were just too hot for me, decided to do that in the Morning
And thinking then about Dinner later, thought some Cornbread would go good with the BBQ
I needed sone Triple Sec and Juice too so I headed to the Price Chopper for some of each
Got my Juices and Liqueur and picked up two boxes of Jiffy Cornbread Mix and headed back
Then I whupped up some Batter and baked a cute little loaf of Cornbread for later
Enough of that and I went back it to whup up some Dinner, BBQ Ribs, BBQ Beans, Cole Slaw and Fresh baked Cornbread
And everything was better than the two Nights of BBQ before that, then the TV and then Beddy Bye
Off then to the Fourth of July on Tuesday...
Next up the Hill from the Fast Stop to the Price Chopper, got Spareribs, BBQ Rub, and a couple more things
Back Home to unload, take some Trash to the Dumpster and then check the back Gardens again
That first Cucumber is getting some size, also the first Bell Pepper, Tomatoes looking good
No new Pumpkin Blooms... and I got a catchup Photo of my Orange Tree after it survived the early Cold
Next, time for Prepping those Ribs, they were packaged Two Slabs to a Pack so I had a lot of ribs to prep
Start with the Rinse and trim and then the tedius part of Pork Spareibs, getting that Membrane off the Bone side
Some don't bother to do that but others say it makes a big difference so I do it most of the time
Then on with a dusting of BBQ Dry Rub on both sides and let them rest for some time to absorb the BBQ Rub
And on into the Afternoon... Margarita anyone? Yeah.. ME! Well first though, make some Cole Slaw
That goes good with BBQ, like Tater Salad and my spicy BBQ Beans like I had last night, I have more of them
So I picked a little Green Pepper from a Pot out front, chopped up quarter head of Cabbage, added that Pepper chopped
Then 'Spin Blend' with Mustard and a dribble of Malt Vinegar, that stirred into a Bowl of Cabbage... Wah Lah!
At 3:30 p.m. Fired up the Oven, brought the Ribs inside, wrapped in Foil and into the Oven for Two Hours
While that was in progress I headed West on Hiway 9 to I-435, to drop in on my Friend Rion for my Computer Payment
And when he pays... some more Lottos, how I do waste my Money, well no, it is ENTERTAINMENT for me and I do win now and then
Rion paid, I bought $20 worth of Lottos and then back at el Ranchito at 4:15 p.m. Worked my Lottos for a $15 Win
So that trip was worth the Taking, won a little back at least and got my Payment so I can buy more
Then it waa Margarita time at last, and a TV Catchup, such bitchy News, every one is down on Trump
And he is messing up greatly, as expected, but IMNSHO... Not as bad as that Evil Bitch would have been!
My guess is they will catch him in some mistake and boot him out, OK by me, that Pence should do better
At 5:30 then I took the Foil off the Ribs and back in the Oven for the final Hour
Back to the TV for that last Hour and then at 6:30 out to Cool to trim and store... 3-2-1 Done
I finished up my Movie with that BBQ Dinner and toddled off to Bed a bit later than usual
And now I have Two more Days of my Independence Day Celebration to use up
Then that March Music I added to this Page, The "Washington Post March" reminded me of some History
In the 40s one Radio Station, I think WDAF, began their Broadcast Day with the "Kansas City Star March"
I had my Radio Alarm set for that and it woke me every Day... I did get so tired of hearing that
But I looked it up anyway and did find a copy, a very old tinny recording that I wouldn't want to use anyway
And so... Off to find my elusive Fortune, headed to the Fast Stop, a lot of Chat and $30 worth of Winners
I got all my Money back with $10 Profit, then off to the Minit Mart... I needed some Gas
And I traded in my $30 Winners for $30 more Tickets, back Home to Scratch off only a $5 Winner
And a final try at the Price Chopper, traded in that $5, added $20 Cash for $25 more Tickets
Then back Home and won back only $20... So for the Day I won a $5, $5, $5, $5, $5, a $10, $10 and $10
And ended up losing a total of $20 for all the effort of Scratching a lot of Tickets, but for me thats FUN!
The only other activity for the Morning was feeding the Cat and a trip out back to check the Crops
That took me up to 1 p.m. on another gorgeous Day, 81 degrees at Noon and headed higher with bright Sunshine
Onward to find some Adventure for my Second Day of the Fourth...
Well now, maybe there is... Time to start celebrating the Independence Day Weekend, make it last
Planning on smoking some Chicken soon, when? Maybe Saturday or Sunday? Whenever the mood hits
And then putting out the 'Flag Fans' and Flags, make everything look Festive again for the Holiday!
Well the mood hit right away, decided to head to the Price Chopper for some Chicken Thighs to Smoke
And on the way out I noticed two more Eggplants on the Plant in the Pot, makes Three now on the way... Hoo-Ray!
And then... Took My Ladder and FLags out front to decorate for the Fourth... Four USA Flags
Saturday is to be a Happy Day, a Double Pay Day, more good weather and Money in the Bank!
And Two Star Spangled Flag Fans, wonder if I should hang up the Missouri Flag too?
Marching on to the Holiday... I started the fire in the Smoker, put on a couple Cherry Wood Loglets
Back in to get the BBQ Rub Dusted Chicken Thighs and set them in the Smoker at 11:30 a.m.
And after a very busy Morning... time to back off and enjoy the gorgeous Weather all over again
Then the Chicken out of the Smoker at 1:30, looking just great and I bet will taste Great!
Mixed a Margaritas to rest up a bit more before doing some more Landscaping out front
Back out front with my Lopper, lopped off some of the Pear Tree Branches interfering with my Flag
Sat out there on and off, just easing through the Afternoon, decided to do some more lopping
A wild Bush that decided to occupy the Bed above the Stairs, the original Bush died out
So I lopped off the smaller Branches that my Lopper could handle, next get the Saw when I feel like it
And that was all the hard labor(?) for the Day, eased through the rest of the Afternoon
Then a Smoked Chichen Thigh on the plate, some Tater Salad and a Glass of Wine, first Feast of the Holiday
That's some tasty Chicken... it is... and Five More Thighs to go... Well more Holidays to go too
Saturday is to be a Happy Day, a Double Pay Day, more good weather and Money in the Bank!
