~ Just another Rainy Day ~
~ Transplanted Jalapeno Peppers ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

What a dismal Rainy Say all Day on Saturday, started Rainy and stayed Rainy and still Rainy when I went to Bed
Still cold and all wet out there Sunday Morning when I peeked out to check, not raining but still saying light Rain
So I can't get out back to do what I want to do... Fix that Bench and work on my Pumpkin Patch
It's going to take a couple of dry days before I can even walk on that Hill back there

And nothing much to do inside except brave the wetness and find a couple Pots to bring in
Then remove and transplant the two Jalapeno Pepper Plants in AeroGarden 7, and so... another long long Day ahead

After a little Breakfast I decided on the first Task of the Day, those Peppers in Garden 7
I went out front, Rain stopped but still cold abd Wet, the Cat was there, went back in to get him some food
Then back out to bring in a couple Pots to plant the Jalapeno Peppers in after I took them out of the Garden

Well that took a little time, filled the Pots about half way, then took each Plant out one at a time to lay then in the Pot
Then fill and tamp the Soil down to stand the Peppers up straight, they look better there than in the Garden

~ Peppers in the Garden ~ Peppers in the Pot ~ Peppers out of the Garden

Still dark and dreary add dripping at 11 a.m. when I set out for my Lottos
Headed to the Price Chopper this time, and again no Luck at all, at all... Doggone!
And then hungry at 11:30 a.m. That's unusual, I eat breakfast late and most always skip lunch
Maybe a nice quick Hot Dog can fix that... Thought I would just try that

And that worked rather well, it was a 'Lotto Prize' Hot Dog and they are big and Fat and Tasty!
OK that fixed that problem, lets go Win a Big Lotto, last Chance this month to try

Back to the Price Chopper to try again, last time I will try in April...
And back Home to scratch and scratch and lookeee there! A very nice $100 Win... Hooray for me!

~ A Nice Win to Brighten up a Dark Wet Day! ~

And that was just about all the excitement for Sunday, just wind down with a Margarita and scrounge up something for Dinner
And that turned out to be a Lotto Prize Burger and some Fries, then some Music and a Movie and actually stayed up longer

Well April is leaving and it has been a busy and wet and interesting Month for me... Could have been a tad warmer

~ Pay Days Again ~ IBM Saturday and S.S. Wednesday ~
~ A Rainy Weekend Ahead ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

'Early to Bed and Early to Rise'... Makes for along long Day ahead for Saturday
Just was too full of the long Day on Friday and hit the Sack about 7 p.m. Ho Hum...
So I woke up at 3:30 a.m. just wide awake and gave in and got up to start another long long Day
But I did a little inside Garden work even before I poured my Coffee, put the little 'Trellis' on Garden 6
Helps to hold up the Plants when they get too tall, already had one in Garden 7 to tie up the fallen Peppers

Then I saw a couple projects Inside for the Wet Day ahead... Remove most of the Tall Genovese Basil Plant (Left)
Then remove the tall Jalapenos Plants from Garden 7 (Right) and put them in Pots to grow outside

~ Trellis Added to Garden 6 ~ Jalapenos to move from Garden 7 ~

So, still before 6 a.m. out to the Kitchen to do some Harvesting... Not that I need any more Basil
I snipped some stems from the top of the Thai Basil Plant, and snipped off most of the Genovese Basil Plant
Then snipped the leaves off all the Stems and into the Oven to dry and later store away

~ A little more Thai Basil ~ A lot more Genovese Basil ~

And then what? 7 a.m. and all wet out front again and supposed to rain all day and some on Sunday too
I took a peek out and the Cat was waiting and wanting, so I got him some more Gizzards and took them out
I wanted to bring in a Pot to plant the Jalapenos but everything was so wet I backed out of that temporarily
Looks like a long Day ahead with nothing much to do, I already did all the things I could do inside by 6 a.m.

~ Garden 6 with the Basil Clipped ~

Out in the Dripping Rain at 7:30 a.m. Greeted by a rumble of Thunder, second of the Morning
Well Mike Thompson said we would have T-Storms on Saturday, and more Rain on Sunday, so far, so bad
Headed to the Price Chopper, I had a $10 Ticket to trade in, got $30 more Tickets
Then back Home to scratch off a $5, a $15 and a $20, a little profit there, I'll have to try the Fast Stop later

And I found some little tasks to do here and there... And what a long Day, and I took a break at 12:45 p.m.
Had my Margarita early, well I was up since 3:30 a.m. So my routine was kinda out of step for the Morning
I simmered up the Cat's Dinner, have lots of that now, did some more tying up in the AeroGardens
Looks like the only things that did much were the Two Basils and the Mint, two pods did nothing and the other on not much

Well that was really all of the Day except for a long TV Session and a good Dinner and DARN! ...off to bed too early again

But that wasn't quite all... Just into bed and I heard a knock on the Door, got up, put my Jeans back on
Was a Guy from the next Building, "Could you move your Mercedes? My Truck can't reverse and I am stuck over there"
Somehow he had his Truck sideways on the Hill next to my Mercedes and couldn't back away to get out
So I grumbled and put on my Shoes and Jacket and Cap and waddled across the Street in that Rain
Drove my Car to my side of the Street, he pulled out and down the Hill and I backed back into my Spot
I hit the Sack again and had another way too long night but made it this time to 4 a.m.
I just have to stay up longer!!! Yeah!

~ A Visit from Pat ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ New Neater Look out Front ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Well that Thursday deserves a high Rate of approval, nice Weather, nice Job completed out front
Thse big old Rose Bushes served their time and purpose very well, now time for the Spruce Trees to take over
And now what for Friday? Oh NO! Says 52 Degrees and light Rain at 6:30 a.m
But a little warmer top with a high of 66 maybe... But I wanted to get back up on the Hill

Took a peek out front... yeah a little Creek running down the middle of the Street
Everything out there is dark and dripping wet... Woe is me for any outside fun today
And what is there for me to keep occupied on this long dreary wet Day?, nothing yet

So I headed to the Minit Mart for Lottos, out of two of my Favorites, only got $15 worth
And only won $10 worth of that back, got a call as I left the Station... from Patricia
'Accepting Visitors today?' 'But of course', and she said she would drop over in the Afternoon

Then I wanted a little Shelf for my rear Speakers, headed to Walmart, couldn't find anything I wanted
So then next door to Lowes, I needed some Screws to fix my Bench Footrest and wanted some Seeds too
Got my screws and Seeds and looked for a Shelf and a no go on that there either
Thought I might drop by Bed Bath and Beyond on the way back, to look again, nope two items there, but way overpriced

And then drifting on into the Afternoon, 1 p.m. or so and I hear the knock on my Door
And it was Howdy Doody Time and come on in and get comfy and catch up on any and all

Then is was Crossword Puzzle time on my Desktop Computere until hat got tiresone and back to the TV and Chat
So watching myBlog Catchup experiment on the TV From my HP in the Living Room
Some Music and then an old Movie we just happened to tune into, on into the late afternoon
Then it was Hill Climbing to head Home for Pat and me into the Kitchen to drub up some Grub

So the Rain had stopped and the Afternoon turned brighter and overall turned into a pleasant Day
It started Dark and Dreary and Wet but did end on a Brighter note...

But for my Happy Pay Day Saturday and the Rest of the Weekend, supposed to be cool and wet... Oh well...

~ A Rose Bush Project Completed ~
~ Nice long Busy Day ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ Pineapple Top planted on April 6th ~ And trimmed in the Pot on April 27 ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Thursday Morning... 41 Degrees at 7 a.m. A relief, Mike the Weatherman said maybe a start at 35 for Thursday
And possibly some frost in outlying areas Northeast, well we sure do not want that now at planting time
He said some Rain possible overnight but it was dry out there, and now says will be Sunny and a top of 60

I took a look out the Door to check the Weather and the Cat was there mewing for Breakfast again
He didn't show up for Dinner Wednesday night, I took out some more Chicken Gizzards and stuff for his Breakfast

Then I got a Photo of the Pineapple top again, doing OK it looks like, I trimmed the leaves a little
And it is ready to go outside any time now when it warms up a little more

Then 45 Degrees when I headed out for my Lottos... Hoping it will warm up so I can work up on the Hill
And when I walked out the Door I saw another project waiting, those Knock Out Rose Bushes
The oldest Two I have planted here, they were not properly pruned last spring, whose fault was that?
Well they grew too large last Summer and after I pruned them this year they look terrible, so out they go!
That won't be a really easy Task but not all that bad either, and I have a replacment plan already

Back from the Lotto Hunt with no Luck, I took a walk out back to get my AeroCart and Rake and Spading Fork
Needed those Tools for the Project ahead out front, digging up those Rose Bushes and moving the Spruce Trees

~ In Back, Roses to Go ~ In Front, Spruce Trees to Move ~

Out back I got a catchup Photo of the Peppers and Tomatoes, looking really good after our latest chill
Need to plant some Radishes and then waiting for the Lettuce and Swiss Chard to pop up

~ Maxibell Transplants looking Good ~

~ Better Boys Tomatoes looking Great! ~

And then... The first Rose Bush, cut up, dug up and dumped into the AeroCart, that thing comes in handy
Then one of the Dwarf Spruce Trees shoved into position in front of my Place, all done by Noon
That is as close to real work as I have done in a while, one out and one to go, a rest first

Back out then about 1 p.m. Gorgeous Day again, Bright Sun, a bit cool but still comfy working in a T-Shirt
So snip some more, dig some more, saw some more, the Rose is down, raked up and into the Aerocart
And then dragging the Dwarf Spruce Pot some more and Wah Lah!... done at Margarita time!
So it took me two hours or more, well I work five minutes and rest for 10, I ain't 60 anymore

~ Two Rose Bushes in the Cart on the Way to the Gully (later) ~

So I took my Margarita break, still nice out there and more to do but I thought it better to wait...
I think on Friday I might get back on the Hill and do my Bench repairs, I wanted to do that Thursday
But got sidetracked with my Rose Bush replacement Project, it really looks neat now

And that was all the prattle no one wants to know for Thursday... HAH! One more Day til Pay Day!

~ Ever Onward and Upward! ~

~ Wednesday April 26, 2017 ~
~ A Cold Wet Start ~
~ Not much Happening ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Wednesday Morning... 44 Dregees at 7 a.m. and Oh No... Light rain out there this Morning
That cancels out my 'Thrill on the Hill' for today, working on my Bench up there
Can't work on that slippery Hill when it is all wet and muddy, hard enough for me when it is dry
Can't think of anything else for the Day as yet, just more of catching up that lost Blog
I did tie up some leaning Peppers in my AeroGarden 7 first thing, that only took a few minutes

Looks like the AeroGarden people were a bit overoptimistic about what load the 7 Pod Gardens can grow

~ Leaning Peppers tied Up ~

So I guess I'll run out to try my Lotto Luck and then get back to the Drivel Page again
When I peeked out the Door to see the Wet Day ahead the Cat was there and asking for Breakfast
And he acted like he wanted to come inside, I don't think I would like that for a stray Cat
So I took him some stewed Chicken Gizzards and said see ya later

Then I took a quick run to the Price Chopper for my Daily Losers... Surprize, I won my Money back that time
No Profit though and a little of that helps to improve my attitude for the Day
And my attitude sure needed some help on Wednesday, Cold and Wet and Windy out there, I thought Spring had sprung?
So I just went back to reconstructing my lost Blog page, not so easy but I made progress
I think I did a pretty nice recap over all, got all the big Events written up fine for the record
And I finished up just at my Margarita Time, 2 p.m. Still only 49 Degrees and Cloudy
Sure didn't look like then that it would make it to the 55 they Predicted... and says COLDER tonight...

So then it was just winding down until Bedtime, managed to stay up until 7 p.m
And the Weather forecast for Thursday doesn't look too promising, another Wednedsday on Thursday?
I sure hope not

~ Planted the MaxiBell Peppers ~
~ Worked on restoring my Lost Blog ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Tuesday Morning, a warmer start at 60 Degrees at 6 a.m. and a higher top Temp at 75 they say
But they predict mostly Cloudy but that will make it easier to work out back, might do more digging
Just getting my Computer catchup stuff done early and then will hit the Hill out back to plant the Peppers

8:15 a.m. headed down to the Fast Stop, got $25 worth of Tickets, back to scratch off $32...
Better than nothing. huh? Then a Cup of Coffee and back out at 9 a.m. to plant the Pepper Seedlings
Still at 64 Degrees and some hazy Sun peeping up over the Gully but not bad out there in a Sweat Shirt
Just when I started up the Stairs here comes the full Sunshine to warm things up nicely

At the Pepper Bed, I saw aome Animal had been digging at the back, that's why I have Cages on the Beds
Probably a Squirrel, they like to dig in fresh turned Soil, maybe think they will find some bugs or something
On with the transplanting, dug Seven Holes in that new loose Soil, a Pepper Seedling in each, then filled and tamped
Put the front and back Gate on the Pepper Bed and then watered Three Beds slowly and evenly, back in at 9:45 a.m.

~ Maxibell Peppers Planted ~

And now, Two more Projects back there soon, my Bench up on the Hill needs some stabilizing and a new Footrest
I absconded with a used Board and a couple of wood Blocks from the Deck rebuilding here
The Board will be about right for the Footrest and it's Ends, some Sawing and Screws needed for that
And the Blocks to place under the Bench front Legs to set it upright again

~ My Bench needs Repairs ~

Then that Cage I used to try for Cantaloupes last Season, not much luck with that experiment
So I didn't have any luck either with my Pumpkin Patch up on the Hill, I'll try them in that Cage this year

~ New Home for the Pumpkin Patch ~

And then I worked until 3 p.m. adding stuff to my restoration of my lost Blog, getting there, only 6 more Days to add
Of course it isn't as complete as the actual Blog was but it will cover the High Points rather well
And save the trouble of anyone that happens to look at it, the usual boring lot of useless Drivel

And again that about all she wrote on Tuesday, another nice busy Day, and I have a few Ideas for Wednesday
But before that some Dinner and TV and try for a nice Night... so rare nowadays

~ Thai Basil Harvest first Thing ~
~ New Soil in the Pepper Bed ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Monday, Monday... I love Mondays, a new Week starting all over again... Just don't care for Weekends anymore
Looks like this Monday one is going to be a good one... A bit cool to start, 49 Degrees at 6 a.m. but a top of 75.. Great!
And mostly Sunny too, just might be another Planting Day for me, the Maxinell Peppers Seedlings look ready
But I need to run back to Lowes for some more Garden Soil to add to the Pepper Bed, used up the other Three Bags

Well Walmart seems to like my Business, they keep increasing my Credit Limit, they just increased it $400 again
And sent me their new Master Card, good anywhere and also offering a 3% Discount on purchases
Well I didn't like them much a few Years ago but have done some good business there since

A little past 8 a.m. Off to the Price Chopper to lose some more Money and I did, lost $15
And then back to harvest some more Thai Basil, that's the Second Harvest of that Weed in 8 Days
Snipped all the longest Stems, clipped off the Leaves and into the Oven to dry, then store

~ Thai Basil to Harvest ~ Harvested ~ Ready to Dry ~

Then I headed over to Lowes a little after 10 a.m. to get that Garden Soil for the Pepper Bed
And they had what I wanted right out front so I went in, told her Three Sacks and she gave me the receipt>
Then I pulled up right next to the Stack, a short haul to load them in the Blazer, a guy came out to help
Back Home then and I hiked out back to Prep the Bed some before I dumped in the new Soil

And realy nice Weather back there, sunny, breezy and warm... I dug up the Soil in the Bed
Then raked it smooth before I added the new Soil, that could wait a little while I took a break out front
There I clipped out some kind of wild tree trying to invade the Knock out Rose Bush, then a peek at the Sweet Potato
Lookee Lookee! Finally several Sprouts in the other half of the Sweet Potato I planted in the Pot
That might add a little more to the Fall Harvest and a few more Vines to climb to the Deck

~ New Sprouts on the other Half ~

Back out again into that gorgeous Afternoon to dump the new Soil, trundled Two Bags back there
Spread and raked the Soil even... Time to plant the Pepper Seedlings, dug a few Holes in the Bed
But then the Wind was blowing and the Sun was full bright and I thought it would be best to wait til later
Came back in from that DNP Day at 2 p.m. and 72 Degrees to sip a Margarita and rest up to go plant later

~ Pepper Bed ~ New Soil added ~ Seedlings on the Way ~

Then the usual windup of the Day, be back on the Hill on Tuesday Morning to transplant the Peppers
Then Dinner and Movies and Dreamtime...

~ Ever Onward and Upward! ~

~ Planted Swiss Chard ~
~ Added Soil to the Cucumber Bed and planted Lettuce ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Sunday Morning, a cool start with 44 Degrees at 9 a.m. but going to 72 they say, that will be nice
And a slow start on the Day, finished my Blog and took a look at my Canoe Video again
Whoops! Two photos that I didn't resize, those ugly black bands on each side... no way Jose
So I fired up my Photo Editor, resized the same Photos in my Files, then to the Video Editor and rendered it again
Then replaced the original Video in my Vimeo Site... all fixed... Except one Photo shows up twice
No one but me will notice that and it's a good Photo so I left it in, would have to retime the ending if I removed it

Then time to head out to the Fast Stop for my Daily Losers, HAH, won a whole $5 back this time

And what to do on this nice looking Day? Some out back gardening, those new Tomato plants need Water
I took some Seeds out with me, planted Swiss Chard in the Tomato Bed, then Watered the Tomatoes and the new Seeds
Then I scooted over to the Cucumber Bed, dumped a new sack of Garden Soil in, smoothed it out
Then planted some Letuce Seeds I had leftover and waterd them in, a nice quick Morning's work

~ Needs to be Weeded ~ Soil added, Lettuce Planted, Ready for Cucumbers ~

Afternoon already? One p.m. sure came quick, well it was a slow Morning like I said at 10 a.m.
Bright Sun all Morning, warming up nicely by Noon, still only 64 Degrees at 1 p.m. but felt warmer
I got my Sprinkler Can, back out front to water the Sweet Potato and the Peppers I moved outside
Then my Margarita and some TV, then back out to sit and sip on the Veranda a few Minutes 79 Degrees at 4 p.m.

And then those Green Beans, a lot left but I was going to dump them after trying that misguided Recipe
But then I chewed on one, thought I could fix them, started out with my Master Chef's touch... Yeah...
They just didn't have much taste and seemed a little underdone, I thought I could fix that...
So, as usual, added some Onions, sliced them up and sauteed them a bit in Olive Oil... 'EVOO' of course
Then I put the Beans into my Pot with the Onions, added Garlic Salt and Black Pepper, and a Teaspoon of Malt Vinegar
Let those flavors meld in low heat a while then took a taste... WUNDERBAR! That did it, those are some GOOD beans!

~ Fixed those bland Green Beans... Yeah! ~

But, I didn't have those Beans for Dinner Sunday, I had a big Burger Thawed and ready, had that instead
With a couple big fat fresh White Radishes and Potato Salad, maybe some Beans for Monday's Dinner
Anyway that was the Finale of another Weekend, lets get on to new Adventures in a new Week

~ Ever Onward and Upward! ~

~ Remade an Old Video ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Well what did I do on Saturday, I didn't write anything down all Day... Lemmee think
The first little chore I had was to adjust the Shelves in the Kitchen, plants off of one now
That is, except for two empty AeroGardens on the top Shelf, out of use at least for now
So now I have three more shelves to store other stuff on, no more tall Plants on there now

Then it was off to the Price Chopper to try my luck, did win a $15 and a $10, no profit though
And then what? Oh yeah, made a silly little Video, took some time at it... and kinda fun to do
I had watched an old Video I made of some Still Canoe Trip Photos and it was not full Screen
So I set about resizing all the Photos on that old ones to wide screen 1920x1080, took some time

I just went back and counted the Photos, I counted 158 if I didn't miss any, now that is some work
Well this Video is just for me and my Memories but I guess I'll put it on here for me
And I tried to burn a new DVD but kept getting some 'Unknown Error'... Have to try again
Anyway it is in my Video Files and now on Vimeo so maybe I won't lose it... On with the Day

And than what? Well that Green Bean recipe to use some of my fresh Mint, followed the recipe I got online
I had that big bag of Green Beans from the Price Chopper, said to blanch them in Salt Water for Ten Minutes then Dry them
I did that, then it said a half stick of Butter in the Pan, melt that with a Tablespoon of dried Mint Leaves
And then stir in a Teaspoon of Honey, then add the Beans, stir and warm then up for serving, I did that

And so, Dinner Time, I had a Beef Rib to hot up, and I baked a Potato, dished that up and added a pile of Beans
The result? Disappointment, barely edible, may have been partly the Beans, I got them fresh at the Chopper
But they didn't seems so fresh when I clipped them for Cooking... anyway, not going to try that Dish again

So that was Saturday... I have had better Days, maybe one is waiting for me Today?

~ Garden 6 Herbs on April 21st ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

A cool Morning on Friday at 48 Degrees and only going to 59 but they say Partly Sunny
Well I wasn't planning to do anything outside anyway, no ideas popped up as of 8 a.m.
The only thing planned was I needed a couple Items at the Price Chopper first thing
Then after that I thought I would head down the Hill to get my Lottos at the Fast Stop
And late in the Afternoon I'll head over to I-435 to pick up my Computer Payment for the Month

My AeroGarden 6 had the 'Add Water Now' notice on that morning, and the Basil was about ready again
I raised the Grow Light, the Thai Basil was touching it, a lot of growth in a short time
And the first Project of the Day... or is it Recipe? I had two boxes of diced Tomatoes I grew last Season>
Thought I should use them up before I start getting new Tomatoes, but that still would be some time yet
Anyway I thought I would make some Marinara Sauce for Spaghetti and stuff, off we went...
Plopped two of those boxes of frozen Tomatoes into the Pot to simmer and thicken up some
Then in with some Onions and Garlic and Herbs and Spices, some of this and some of that, some home grown
Let all that simmer and meld and Molto Gustoso! I got some fresh made Marinara Sauce...

~ Fresh made Marinara Sauce ~

Then I checked the Pineapple Top I planted, lifted it to see some tiny 'Rootlets' on the Bottom
Decided I would then try it in a Pot with Soil, went out for a Pot and planted it, now we'll see what it does

~ Pineapple Top now in a Pot ~

And then... Checking the stuff in the Freezer, saw an envelope with green Leaves in it, now what is that?
Well I had left the Leaves whole so it must be Mint, what can you use that for anyway except a Mint Julep?
I don't like those much but I did read you can use them to add zip to certain Dishes
So I set about drying them for Storage and I'll research Recipes to see where I can use them

~ Mint Leaves to Dry and Store ~

Well now... See there? No real plans but several little projects popped up to while away the Day
A little Cooking episode a Re-Planting episode, Herb Drying episode, just keeping from being bored
And then I found a Recipe to use my dried Mint Leaves, Green Beans with 'Mint Honey Butter Sauce'
So I'll stop in at the Price Chopper first on the way to I-435 for Green Beans and Honey to try that on Saturday

OK, 3 p.m. on the way, Price Chopper first, got a bag of Green Beans, a little Jar of Honey, and off again
Down the Highway to I-435 to 'The Station' and got my Computer Payment, then some new Lottos
Back to Parkville and no Winners... Oh well... there's always Tomorrow isn't there?

That was all she wrote for Friday, simmered up some Spaghetti, hotted up my Marinara sauce
Had simmered a big Italian Sausage in the Sauce, plated that and had a Feast finishing up the Day

~ A Seedling in every Pot ~ Only Three on Wednesday ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Watered the Cucumber Seedlings first thing Thursday, now there is a Seedling in every Pot
And Two in one Pot, I planted Three Seeds in each, will pull out any extra ones that pop up

Well like Mike Thompson, Channel 4 Weather News, said last Night, we had a Gorgeous Weather Day Wendesday
It was quite a bit on the Windy side but bright Sun and warm Temps all Day... The High in the 80s
Now today though they are saying Partly Sunny and a high of only 71, well we shall see...

A peek out the Door about 7 a.m. Not 'Partly Sunny' yet and looks like we had some Rain
And just a bit on the Cool side too, nothing like Wednesday so far, put a damper on my Morning
But then, and after Breakfast, things started looking better about 8 a.m. The sun peeking over the Gully

Maybe we will have a nice Day after all, needed Gas, headed out then to the Minit Mart
Stopped by the ATM on the way for some Ammunition for more Lottos, still looking for that Big One
Got my Tank of Gas and my Lottos, only won back $15, oh well... Story of my Gambling Life
Another good looking Day by 10 a.m. Bright Sun and warming again, needed something to do

Well, let's head back to Larry's Nursery, get some Tomato plants and get them in the Ground and going
Parking lot in front full up again, I parked at the side and headed in and way back to the far end again
And I wanted 'Better Boys' Tomatoes, my favorite for about 40 Years now, and Larry's has about 50 other kinds
So I had to go up and down the long Row to find them, took Three trips back and forth before I did
Picked out three nice ones and headed back to Parkville, then out back to go to 'Work'...

~ Better Boys Tomatoes ready To Plant ~

Well as close to any work that I do nowadays, I call it a Hobby... First I spread Two bags of new Soil
Then dug Three deep holes, picked off the lower Leaves and planted the Tomatoes, Wah Lah! What else is there to do?
Well any Day now, plant those Maxibell Papper Seedlings in the Pepper Bed after I rehab the Bed a little

~ New Soil to Spread ~ Tomatoes Planted ~

And that was all the outside action for the Day, the rest of the Day as usual, just Afternoon and Evening TV
Some good Chow and then off to Bed way too early, not good, makes the Night way too long...
Anyway, Friday and the end of the Week coming and a cooler Weekend ahead, don't like that so much

Wednesday Morning, another good looking Day ahead... 69 Degrees and heading to a High of 82 they say
And I started off fixing things as soon as I got up, even before Coffee or Juice
There is a forest of Wires behind the new TV and I hooked them up in too much of a hurry
I had them neatly placed on the old TV, wanted to straighten them out some, so plug this and unplug that
It took some rearranging of Plugs and Sockets but I got it looking a lot better
I thought I could make it look even better if I put some kind of Screening behind the TV Shelf, started in on that

Tried that a few Days back using the dark Screen Material from the 'Draw Screen Drape' in my Window
I used Carpet Tape on the back of the Shelf then attached the Screen, looked great for a little bit then fell off
It would work to staple the Screening to the back of the Shelf but have to take the TV off to do that
So I thought, fasten the Screen to some kind of Dowel or Bar and hang that in the back with Wire

And off to P&G Hardware for a Dowel, none long enough, then I saw some Garden Stakes by the Door
Remembered I had some of those out back, so back home to get one from the back Garden and back In
I had the Screen all cut to size from the first Try, used fine Wire to fasten it to the Stake
Then fastened a couple larger wires to each end to hang it from the TV Feet, slipped it behind the Shelf and hung it

~ No Back Drop here ~ Where are the Wires Here? ~

Now doesn't that look better? You can see those ugly Wires under the TV on the Left, not so on the Right
And so another nutty Idea brought to fruition with some modest success

Sun shining Bright all Day and warming up, my Computer said 77 Degrees at 1 p.m. But the Blazer Therm said 80
Took a walk out beck to look things over, need to put the Compost in the Beds and then the Garden Soil
The Maxibell Pepper Seedlings look like they are ready to take a trip out back and try the Weather

Then no more Plans, and thinking about planting an Eggplant in a Pot this Year, Two plants out back did nothing last Year
So, junped into the Blazer and headed to Riverside, to Larry's Nursery, parking lot was full when I got there
Went in and headed to the far end where I knew they usually set up the Eggplants... I only wanted One Plant...
Looked for the One I wanted and they had One... ONLY ONE... I got the last one! A nice old guy next to me was looking too
He he wanted what I wanted but ooops, too late, he settled for a 4-Pack of some with no Label... HUH?

Then I headed back to Parkville, a bit after 2 p.m. so I mixed my Margarita and then went outside to sit and sip a little
And then planted my Eggplant, kind of a Windy Day as well as sunny and Warm so I left it against the Wall to protect it

~ Ready to Plant ~ And Planted ~

And after that, again, at that time of Day it is mostly all the same, so like Monday and Tuesday, it was Dinner and TV
And off to Bed... and where do all those strange Dreams come from anyway?

A slow start on Tuesday Morning but an early run to seek my Fortune, had $30 of Wins to Trade
Up to the Price Chopper first, got my Tickets, only won $10 back, where's that BIG ONE hiding?
Then just some piddling around the rest of the Morning, Boss Bob called, said he would be by about 11:30

And I was waiting, watching TV, had my Window Web Can on watching for his Truck and here it comes
I just let the Web Cam take Video while they were coming in and then loading the TV
Kinda boring but just for my interest in all things non-important that I keep records of

~ Just Ignore this Video ~ It's just for Me ~

Then I headed to the Bank to deposit my TV Sales Money and headed out again for Lottos
Down to the Fast Stop first, and the Price Chopper later, won some here and there, nothing big
I managed to win a $5. $10, $10, $10, $10, $10, $10 and a $20... Might have made a little Profit there
But that takes too much effort to keep track of Wins and Losses, I am just looking for that Big One

After that nothing much happening, just a great Day out in the Weather, out front again sipping my Margarita
Headed back to the Price Chopper for some Chicken Gizzards for the Cat, simmered them up for later
They keep better if you cook them some and also the Cat likes the broth on his Dry Cat Food

And again for the Finale, Dinner and TV... Same old, same old, but I enjoy it... Off to bed

Got my Computer stuff done early and headed down to the Fast Stop about 7:20, got my Lottos
Back up the Hill to Bell Road and down the Hill to Home to scratch off NOTHING! What a negative way to start my Day

The Cat was waiting out front for Me when I headed out, went back in to get the Stuff from last Night
I had Food ready for him but he didn't come by for Dinner on Sunday Evening... So I took that out Monday

54 Degrees at 8 a.m. Partly Sunny and up to 73 for a top they say, to be a moderate Weather Day
And so far not a clue on something to do... Bored so early in the Day... What to do?
So, Breakfast, Morning TV News, not much there, Tom came down to start on pounding the Deck Again
And I thought... It's only Money so I headed out to try my Luck again, splurged this time on $30 Worth
Back to el Ranchito, got a Photo of the Sweet Potato in the Pot on the way in, growing some now
And then I scratched off my Tickets and won my Money back, but that's no way to win the Olympics!

Getting on towards 10 a.m. Weather getting really nice out there, got an idea, go get some Soil
Garden Soil for the Beds out back and Potting Soil to add to the Flower Pots out front
Took off for Lowes, parked close... Into the Garden Department to find the best buy and I think I did
Three One Cubic Foot Bags of Garden Soil and a medium size Bag of Potting Soil, drove up in front
Loaded those Bags into the Blazer, I can handle those smaller Bags OK

~ Here we go Again ~ Seems this happens every Year about this Time ~

Back Home, backed up the Hill in the Parking Area next Door... Got the AeroCart and loaded it up Three times
That Ground back there is still all mushy so I toted One Bag at a Time, dumped then at the Beds
Then back down in front of my Place to unload my Bag of Potting Soil... Planting Time getting close

So then decided to move the rest of the Plants from the Kitchen except for the new Seed Plantings
And the Two AeroGardens with Herbs and Peppers growing nicely in there, time to atart on the front Plants

~ All Plants gone except for Two Aerogardens and Seedlings ~ Canna Plants moved to the Porch ~

Just puttered around with this and that the rest of the Day, inside and outside
Mixed my Margarita and the sat out in that very nice weather, watching the Birds and Breezes
Back in for the rest of the Day to Finish again with the same old TV and Dinner Routine

The new TV worked OK all Day on Monday, none of that flashing that happened before, was hoping it was OK
Then I woke up in the middle of the Night hearing something, went in to see the TV playing and flashing on and off
I shut it off when I went to Bed, how did it get turned on? I shut it off and went back to Bed
Tried it again first thing Tuesday, a bright Picture came on, not TV just a flashy Photo
I turned it off then on again, it had tuned itself to what they call the 'Cast' application
I set it to HDMI One... my Direct TV Source and the Program came on but with more of the flashing and dimming
I took a Video of that to show the people that I have to complain to, when they get online at 8 a.m.

That's about enough of an on and off busy Monday, now see what Tuesday may bring

~ Basil Plants Before and after Harvesting ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Started off a slow Sunday Morning with the usual Computer Stuff then edited that little 'Windy Wideo' for my Blog
Posted that Blog and then headed off for My Lottos and won back only $15 for the first try
Went back to trade in for $156 more Lottos and then lost that... Oh Woe... Well I'll be rich Tuesday
I called him to see if he was back in Town, he was and said he will come after the TV On Tuesday

And then the first teeny Project for the Day... Snipped the largest Leaves off the Genovese Basil
Then snipped the lower branches off the Thai Basil, quite a Harvest, then into the Oven to dry

~ Genovese Basil ~ Thai Basil ~

And next, started on the Laptop Project, my Fried wanted to update to Windows 10, I was going to try to use my Program
So I went to the long process of cloning then entire System Disk from my Laptop to use to see if that would work
And I got all of that timetaking Task done and then checked the Friends Laptop, I should have done that first
I checked the Windows 10 requirements... He had barely enough RAM and nowhere near the Hard Drive space needed
So that was a lot of time wasted on a failed Project, but it was his OLD... Computer not me

Later in the Day about the only activity was back out front to clean out the old Plants from the last Pots
Now they are all ready for this Season's Flowers but I don't feel any urge to hurry into that
And there are a few Plants in the Kitchen I want to take outside too but they will wait until I get around to them

On to the windup of the Day... but a ittle trouble on the Horizon, that new TV, been working fine for a Week now
But yesterday the Sreeen was dimming and brightening for sort periods... Have I got Trouble here in River City?
I'll keep an Eye on that for sure... Might have to check the Warranty on that if and when

~ A Turnip that waited all Winter to Show Up ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

A couple items to add to Friday and it sure was another busy Day, nothing big but a lot of little things
One was that dinky little Turnip up there, I planted Turnips last Spring but too close together and they did nothing!
I was raking Leaves on Friday outside that bed and raked up that Turnip. how did it get outside the Bed?

Anyway way too small and tough to be anything but an Item to talk about

And I mentioned trimming the Popcorn Roses on Friday but I didn't add the before and after Photos
So here, ragged before and nicely pruned after, now what's next on the Program?

~ Roses at the Side Trimmed on Friday ~

OK, now I think that was most all for Friday. I'll get started on Saturday, 6:30 a.m and my Sheets in the Washer
Juice Mixed and Coffee Brewed... Bank, Lottery and Facebook checked, Blog posted, how is the Weather outside then?
Not bad, 63 Degrees and Clear, partly Sunny and topping at 79 Degrees, I can sure live with that!

On to the First Project of the Day and a minor one at that, planted Cucumber Seeds in little Pots
Hope to plant those around the First of May, now have a couple weeks to get them started

~ Watching now for the new Cucumber Seedlings ~

A follow up on the Herbs in the Kitchen Garden, all germinated, a couple Pods slow to grow
The Genovese Basil (left) and the Thai Basil (right) are on a race to the Ceiling, the Thai a bit ahead
It looks like both Basil Plants could stand a bit of Harvesting but I sure don't need more Basil to use now

~ Basil Plants are in a Race to the Top ~

Made my first Run to the Fast Stop for Lottos, didn't win anything, didn't lose anything either, still ahead from Friday
Puttered around inside for a while, laundry, moving Plants outside, this and that... Nada importante...
Decided to run to the Price Chopper for this and that (and those too) no Wins... Got some more Thistle Seed for the Birdies
Filled the Feeders, then mixed a Margarita and sat out in the Breeze for another while... then had a thought
The girls upstairs have had their Flags out for over a year now... Thought I would put out my Missouri Flag to add color
It has been just sitting in the Drawer since last Labor Day, might as well display it some, out it went

~ The Girls Flags up on the Deck ~ My Missouri Flag out Front ~

And then my Friend Bob, the Mechanic, dropped by to pick up his Laptop, he caught another Virus for me to exterminate
Went to the wrong site on the Web, warned him what to look for before going to some Sites, if it helps any
Finished the afternoon Friday chasing that one down... I won that one, but he brought another OLD Laptop, wants me to work on that
That just might be something to entertain me on Sunday when I get Bored, as for Saturday... A wrap up of the Day

After Bob left I took a glass of Vino Tinto back out on the Veranda to enjoy the Warm and Windy end of the Afternoon
I had my Phone, decided to catch a bit of the Atmosphere, I had fed the Cat and he was washing up after Dinner
I got enough of the Breezes and then headed back in for the Rest o the Day... Yeah, another Good Day, quite a few of them lately

~ A Little Rain in the Morning ~
~ Another nice Lotto Win ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Another really nice and busy Day on Thursday and a high Temp of 80 Degrees, that is more my type of weather
And what for Friday? About the same as for Thursday, Tom out front working on the Decks again
Me out back again for a little cleaning up the Garden Beds for planting, not much else on the Agenda
Boss Bob said he would be back in Town on Friday, maybe he will come by for my surplus TV... I hope

Oh Oh... I forgot, the Weatherman said we would wake up to Rain Friday Morning, took a peek
Well, Streets looked wet, no pouring Rain, maybe later? But he said it would be gone by Noon
Anyway that would cancel out any Morning work out back and possibly for the Day

And forgot to mention for the Gardening record, I planted the other half of the Sweet Potato
It didn't look like it was doing much in the Bowl, a few Roots from it but no sprouts yet
So I thought I would just put it in the big Pot with the other half, see what it would do out there

~ Other Half of the Sweet Tater planted in the Pot ~

And about 10 a.m. still dripping a little and wet and dreary... But Tom came down and started on the Deck above me again
I headed out to try my Luck at the Price Chopper and had some Wins again... $55 from the Fast Stop on Thursday
And then $65 from the Price Chopper on Friday, with the 4th $50 Win this year... so far... then back to the Fast Stop
Cashed in my Winners, bought more but this time only won back $10 but still ahead for the Day

~ Best Looking Win for April (so far) ~

Another check on the Kitchen Plants and one more Pepper Plant in the Pot is Ailing
Some make it, some don't... But seems my Winners outnumber the Failures, the way the Cookie Crumbles
This is the Pepper that fell over, I propped it up, looked good for a while, now headed for the Trash Sack

~ Another Pepper just gave up the Fight ~

Better Luck with the Pineapple Top, looking good and new Leaves developing, the old Leaves dying back
Some of those come off when it is planted in the Pot as the new ones develope and take over
Will take most of the Season to reach any Size, but it is just for Show, not for Go

~ New Leaves showing up in the Center ~

And then... 1 p.m. The Sun came out Bright and warm... Tom was back up on the Deck at my Place hammering away
He started on our Deck on Thursday and was hoping to finish on Friday, the Deck on next Building was all done

~ Deck next Door all Done ~ Now working on My Building ~

Time for a trek out back, see if was too wet to do anything, headed to the Pepper Bed, pulled out some Dandelions
Now after I get some Compost from Pat chopped in and raked smooth, all ready to Transplant my Pepper Seedlings
Then I got my Loppers and pruned the dead Branches off the Popcorn Roses at the side of the Building
So then was 2 p.m. Enough 'Work' for the Day, time for a Margarita and finish the Afternoon and Evening
And a long afternoon and evening, I have a couple more Items to add for Friday but I'll add them Saturday Morning
