~ February leaving at Midnight Tonight ~
~ New Basil Crop ready to Harvest ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Here we go again, Spring is back for Tuesday, 60 Degrees at 6 a.m. They say might set a new Record Today
The record is 78 Degrees, thay say a top today of maybe 77, well come on... let's get at it!

And so... Peeked under the Shelf in the Living Room Tuesday Morning, had a Pot of Basil setting on two Pots
Raising the Pot up to get closer to the Grow Lights there, well it had grown to touch the Lights
So I took the Pots off the Shelf, now the Basil has plenty of room, also has grown tall and can be harvested any time
Is it time to make another genuine 'Margherita Pizza' wih Tomatoes and Sweet Basil?

~ Sweet Basil ~ Ready for Harvest ~

And on to Yesterday, I didn't mention my trip up the Hill to Pat's Mansion... TV Antenna trouble
Well I haven't used an Antenna for 20 yars or more, what do I know about those things?
In St. Joseph I had a real tall one up on top of my House with a Motor to turn it
Was only necessary once to point it to Kansas City, then I was all set, but then came Cable

So, just back from the Doctor and got Pat's call, anytime today she said, I said now?, she said OK
Up the Hill and around the Corner, in to look at the setup, Antenna hooked up OK
Turned on the TV to check the Settings, all set to Antenna, so what's the problem, checked the Manual
Aha? Initial Setup, I had it set up for my AT&T U-Verse Receiver, so let's do Setup again
Worked through the Process, came to 'Scan for Channels' got that going and it started finding them
I was pretty sure we were on the way then, it continued to Channel 50 and Away We Go! and the Picture came on
So, I sure don't know it all but can usually work through a problem to some sort of success

On then to the Fast Stop for some Lottos, talked to Navru about our BBQ Plans, looks good for Saturday
They are saying 70 Degrees, that should be great, grill some Chicken out in the Smoker then
Then back Home to scratch off $15 in Wins, need to go back to the Minit Mart for some Gas and another try

And another Culinary Idea, all that Basil ready to Harvest, let's make another Margherita Pizza
Lessee, need some Sauce, Mozzerella Cheese, some Plum Tomatoes, looks like a trip to the Price Chopper
Off to the Price Chopper to get my Pizza stuff, back to set it aside and do something with the Apples I got the Day before
I had one refrigerated Pie Crust in the Fridge to do something with so decided on an Apple Turnover
So I peeled, cored, and sliced the Apples with my little hand crank Peeler, then, into the Pot
Added some Sugar, a little Butter, Nutmeg, Cinnamon and let it simmer, rolled out the Crust on a Cookie Sheet
Piled the Crust high with the apples and into the Oven to Bake and half an Hour later all done

~ Apple Turnover ~ That will make Three Breakfasts ~

And then, out to take the Trash to the Dumpster, wheel the Cart around back, then check the Orange Trees
And after a few Nights in the 20s and 30s I expected the worst, and it was bad enough but not all gone yet
As usual I was fooled by the early Spring Weather and as usual I received some disappointment
It's the Roots that count and they were down in the Soil, maybe they can recover, if not, well they had two seasons

~ Orange Trees after a Week out in the Cold ~

Last Event of the Day, bake a Pizza, a bit more involved than the Turnover, a few more Ingredients to trim
I split the Basil Leaves in half, sliced up the Tomatoes, layed out the Cheese, opened up the Pizza Sauce
Rolled out the Pizza Dough, pre-baked for 8 Minutes, then on with the Sauce, a layer of Cheese, the Tomato slices
Another Layer of Mozzerella and then topped with the Sweet Basil Leaves, bake another 15 Minutes and Voila!

~ El Pato's Margherita Pizza ~ With Home Grown Basil ~

OK then, TV Movie and Pizza Time, cut the Pizza into Four large Squares, One on the Plate, a Glass of Vino Tinto
Back to the Movie to enjoy the Pizza and wind up another busy Day, not too shabby at that

~ Another Doctor Day ~ Just a 'How ya Doin' Check ~
~ And another new Sound Bar ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And so to start the Day on Monday... Another Visit to make the Doctor's Mercedes Payment
I did a follow up Visit with him after my Emergency Room Visit as they advised and he asked a few questions
Gave me some advice, ran me to his Lab to get a report like the ER had just done, said my Electrolytes were low
Then a gift of a case of 'Glucerna' to drink and said come back in a couple Months... if I was still around

So, off to see the Doctor at 9 a.m. Appointment time at 9:15, called in right on time for a change
The Nurse ushered me to the little Room and gave me the preliminary checks and then said the Doctor would be in
Yeah... be in when, it was 9:15 then... ho hum... so I piddled around on my Phone, some chat with Sigi
And wait wait wait and wait... Doctor finally came in at 10:15 a.m. Started asking and working his Laptop
So some catching up on symptoms, what to do and then off to the Lab to get poked again, one Needle, not too bad

Then back home, stopped in the Price Chopper on the way for Lottos, won nothing, then finally Breakfast
Than on to a warmer but slow Day, not much going on, then I got another nutty Idea, that TV Sound Base in the Kitchen
I bought that one when I had my newest TV hooked to my Computer in the Office Room, didn't use it much
Moved the TV to the Kitchen, replaced the older one there, set up the Sound Base under the TV
Then sold the older one to my friend Pat... Then I used the new TV a lot more and also the Sound Base
But I never much liked the remote on that thing, and wasn't all that Impressed with the Sound
So... I got onlne and looked at other ones at Walmart, hey, I like the looks of that one, lets go get it

About ten Minutes to get to Walmart, parked fairly close, headed in the Door and straight back to the TVs
And there it was on the Shelf, picked up one and headed to the Checkout and back to Home

Took the old one out from under the TV, the new one is a Bar, not a Base like the other one
So I set the TV back on the Shelf and set the Sound Bar in front, plugged in the Cables and done... Time to test
And I liked the little Remote a whole lot better and also the Sound is much better... So, a home run this time

~ New Sound Bar for the TV in the Kitchen ~

And what to do wth the old one? Well there is always Rion, I give or sell him a lot of my stuff
He is a Tech nut like me and is happy with most everything I come up with, messaged him on Facebook
Hey could you use a TV Soundbar? He came back quick... Heck Yeah, been looking for one! OK when ya want me to bring it over
He wasn't working at the Station though, said he was South of Town, would come by Tuesday Morning for it
So that's the end of the Sound Bar Tale, I hope he is happier with it than I was, well he should like the Price
I am just giving it away, and happy to get rid of it so fast.. OK then... Now off to Tuesday and PayDay Wednesday

~ A Slow Slow Day ~
~ A little more Computer Assistance ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Sunday Morning and brrrrr at 32 Degrees, but better than Saturday morning and warmer later in the Day
And the next Week looking a little better than they were forecasting earlier but stll cold nights
Starting the Day off with no plans at all, another Kick Back and boring Day it looks like

Out to the Kitchen to put the Coffee on, checked the Popper Peppers and another one had showed up
On Saturday the tallest Pepper in Garden 6 fell over, I got it propped back up OK I think
But it looks like those plants are just a bit too tall for those Gardens, though they say 24 Inch Height
I'll just have to watch and get them tied up before they fall over when they reach their limit

~ The Second Red Popper Pepper showed up Sunday ~

I ran around trying to find the End of the Rainbow but only found $10, better luck on Monday? HAH!
Then my Friend came after his Computer, tried to explain how he could reinstall his Printer when he got home
He is a whiz at fixing Cars but after he turns on the Computer then he is lost... Oh woe... It ain't that hard
But he called me when he got home, he did have the USB Cable and the Install Disk, and I walked him through the Install
I never thought I was all that bright but a couple of my Friends now are making me feel like a genius

So that was about it for the Day and early at that, I did get another Call about TV Install assistance
Something about hooking up an Antenna... What is an Antenna anyway? Last I knew it was that shiny stick on my Car

So, nothing doing I mixed my Margarita and started on my Movies early and that lasted on til bedtime
What a nothin' doin' Day... Now Monday, I have to run over and hold my Doctor's hand and tell him I am OK

~ Sunshine but Cold! ~
~ Turkey ~ Dressing ~ Mashed Taters ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Started Saturday at 22 Degrees, where did that Spring Weather go... And how will my Orange Trees like it?
Anyway... Saturday, slept in until 6:30 a.m. How did that happen, usually it is 4:30 or 5 a.m.
I started right in on Bob's Laptop, a few things to tidy up, a Reset sure messes things up
But anyway it is like starting out on a new Computer that works at least... on to the task...

A check on the latest Crop planted, the Red Popper Peppers... Aha! The first one popping up on Saturday
None showing in the Second Pod yet, but... Paciencia, por favor...

~ The First Red Popper Pepper showing up Saturday ~

And then a quick run to the Minit Mart to waste some more money, only wasted $5 this time though
Back home to scratch off a $15 Win, ammunition to trade in on another try later

On to the Day, what's for Dinner? I was thinking... Thanksgiving Revisted... I had Turkey and Dressing in the Freezer
So I took a Hunk of Turkey and another of Dressing out of the Freezer, the Dressing on a Plate, then Turkey in the Oven
I thought I could thaw and warm the Turkey really slow in the Oven, then some Mashed Potatoes?
I had the last of a big Sack of Potatoes that needed to be used up... so away we go
Peeled the Taters and into the Pot to Simmer, later the Butter and a bit of Milk and then Mash

On to the rest of the Afternoon, started my old Movie Early, this time 'She wore a Yellow Ribbon'
An old Western with John Wayne, entertaining but too long... And I have seen it a couple times... Anyway off to Dinner
Had Turkey, Dressing and a pile of Mashed Taters on the Plate, Gravy over all and into the M/W
Hey Hey, that Turkey was better than it was back on Thanksgiving, still have more Turkey in the Freezer for later

And so that was a pretty good Saturday except for the Cold, now more cold the rest of the Week... Oh well...

~ Dark Cold Windy Day ~
~ Not much going on ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ That Gorgeous Canna even more beautiful after Three Days ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Well, first day in many that there was no project of any size to do, just piddle away the Day
Headed out a couple times for Lottos, didn't win anything worth mentioning
So the day passed away and slowly, through the Afternoon and early Evening Hours
And then I got a call, my mechanic Friend Bob had Computer troubles again, some 'update' killed it
Couldn't get online at all, just that little circle going round and round, I said bring it over

He showed up, brought it in, I set it on the Coffee Table and started in, looked like some kind Of Malware to me
So I started up Super Anti-Spyware, my favorite and right away it said "Unwanted Program... Dump it"
So I dumped it, then I could do more but it was still all messed up, tried to run 'System Restore"
But it didn't have a Restore point coming up and the only thing I could come up with was System Reset
And that sets your Computer way back and you lose some stuff, so I started that and it took FOREVER to finish

Bob got tired and headed for Home, I kept watching TV and waiting for it to finish, finally off to Bed
So, Saturday Morning, had it in my Computer room then, fired it up and I could get Wireless and connected to the Internet
And I replaced a couple things, some data missing but that's the way the Ball bounces, it was working anyway
I got his ATT/Yahoo Home page back, added a few of his favorites, couldn't sign in to Email, have to get his Password
So by 8 a.m. Saturday it was working, then it started on a Windows Update, finished that and I called and said... Come and get it

~ Laptop working again and updating Windows ~

And we got that Cold they were predicting and a few light snowflakes Friday Evening
So we have a cold Week ahead, but the coldest Night was supposed to be Friday... anyway off to the new Day

~ Winter Came Back ~
~ A Visit with Patricia ~

Thursday started out Dark and Cold and Dripping and got colder as the Day progressed
And the Winds came, blustery all Day, a little hazy Sun in the Afternoon but it didn't last long
Had some light Rain early but it stopped and the rest of the Day was Dry.... but Cold and Windy
So what today? Starting at 39 Degrees and 47 Tops but dropping like a Rock to 26 degrees tonight... brrrrrr
And then nights at freezing all the next Week, I hope those Orange Trees out back can take it, I do have my doubts

A Visitor expected in the Afternoon, Pat coming after the TV, I moved it from the Cabinet in the Hall to the front Door
Then trundled my AeroCart from out back to the Porch, loaded the TV on and covered it with a Blanket
And then I started out on my Daily Treasure Hunt and did find some on Thursday

I had a $5 Win to trade in, started at the Price Chopper and won $25, then back to the Minit Mart to win $15
Down the Hill to the Fast Stop to trade and then won back $32... Nice, once more at the Price Chopper for another $15
So without doing all the Math and what it cost, I did make a profit... How much? who cares, at least I didn't lose any...

Then it was wait around time until Pat came down the Hill in her Truck, I went out to load the TV
I trundled the Cart with the TV loaded to the Truck with Pat holding on to it for safety
Then she heaved it into the truck like it didn't weigh anything... More than I can do now

Back in for the Afternoon then and lots to do, listen to Music, and watch my Sanctuary Videos from way back
I have a lot of the Nature Sanctuary History dating from 2008 and she wanted to see a lot of it
And I really made a LOT of Videos for them, there are 94 of them on the Nature Sanctuary Vimeo Page, I kept busy
And we watched several as the Afternoon slipped on, finally time to load up for Home
I still had some of the Dill Pickles I made and that she likes, I gave her Four Half Pints
And she put them in the last big Foam Cooler that I got from the Mo Lottery that I had no place to store
Loaded that in her Truck and then up the Hill and around the Corner to Home... a nice afternoon

Time for Dinner, rustled up a Burger and some Tater Salad, a Movie and then off to Dreamland
Next off to a COLD Day and colder Night and what else... Off we go!

~ Nothing on the Agenda for Wednesday ~
~ Some Gardening on a nice Warm Day ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Wednesday Morning, 50 Degrees at 6 a.m. and Mike Thompson says we just might set a record High of 80 Today
Already had one record High this Month, we can take another... Yeah! The Orange Trees might like that

And today, the first Day in many Days, no plans at all to do anything... but sure something will pop up
Well I could go out back and give those transplanted Trees a good drink of Water, they might need that

First I went to the Price Chopper, all out of Vino Tinto and Modelo Negra Cervesa for Guests
Picked up a Gallon of Carlo Rossi 'Paisano' and a Six Pack of Modelo and headed back for a Gallon of Milk
And on the way back a Big Bag of Guys Potato Chips, the Kansas City kind... And I like 'em best

Then out and down the Hill to the Fast Stop for more Loser Lottos, and some Chat with Navru
Headed for Home with my Loot, unloaded and then scratched off a solitary $5 Win

Then Noontime and time to feed the Birdies, hadn't done that for a couple Months at least
Opened up my new Sack of Seeds, filled up a Jar, dumped it into the Gazebo Feeder, now come on Birdies!
Hazy Sun and warm, hooked up the Hose and headed out back to water the transplanted Trees, they still looked OK
Next watered the Rhubarb, the Popcorn Roses at the Side and then the Bushes I planted next Door
And back over to my place, tossed the Hose over the wall to my Porch, then started on my Bushes
Watered the Roses in the Pots, then the Popcorn Roses and then the dwarf Spruce Trees, enough for now

2 p.m. then, I thought I would put the Table Umbrella back up as a sign of Spring, been in the Closet all Winter
I took the Umbrella shaft out first to set it through the Table Top and heard a whirr behind me... Huh?
Yep, a little Birdy flew to the Feeder and had some lunch, just two Hours after I put the Seeds in the Feeder

~ Tufted Titmouse at the Feeder ~

So, 2:30 p.m. and time for an Afternoon libation... Margarita perhaps? Yeah, that should do fine
Mixed my Margarita, headed back out front in that Gorgeous Weather to sip and watch the Birds
Not many yet, but Two Chickadees showed up, one at the Gazebo Feeder and the other at the Finch Feeder with the Thistle Seeds
They didn't stay long, flitted away and then a big Cardinal stopped way up in the Tree, took a look and flew off
And I thought I was in Heaven, 76 Degrees, Sunny and warm, sipping a Margarita and watching for the Birds
If that's not Heaven it sure was close enough for me...

~ Gorgeous Afternoon out Front ~

Then back in for the Rest of the Day, TV catch up and a Burger and Chips for Dinner
I noticed a few Birds flitting in and out, trying out the Feeders, they will have that Gazebo empty Tomorrow
And I got a Call, Pat is coming over for a catch up Visit on Thursday and I do have a few new things to Demo

Looks like a bit Cooler and a rain possibility for Thursday, well we have just been way too lucky the last few Days
Anyway... now off to another new Day

~ Orange Trees Planted Out Back ~
~ Another Gorgeous Day ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ And a Gorgeous Canna Bloom in the Kitchen ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Slow Morning getting all my Routine wrapped up, then to the Fast Stop for $20 of loser Lottos
Time for the Orange Tree Project, I lugged out one heavy Pot to drop it in my Cart waiting on the Porch
Then it was bright Sunshine and 55 Degrees when I headed out back toting the first Orange Tree in my AeroCart
And pretty hard going too, the Moles here are the worst since I have been here, so many Hills I couldn't push the Cart
So I had to get in front and reach back and pull it along behind me, finally made it to the planting site
A bit of enlarging the Hole with my Shovel and then worked the Tree into the Hole, then back in for the Other One

But that first one really wore me out, time to take a nice long break before trying for the Second one
Back out again at 11 a.m. This one didn't take as long, back in at 11:20 for another break
But the Trees needed some bracing in the Wind, I needed a couple Stakes, headed for P&G Hardware
They didn't have any, so where to? Off to Lowes and they had exactly what I wanted, got some wild Bird Seed too
I hadn't been feeding the Birds for some time, now I can put feed in the Feeder and they find it right away

And so, back to finish my Project, got some Twine, my Clipper and Hammer and headed out back again
Pounded in the Stakes, tied up the leaning Branches and all done for the Day, will put up some little Fences later

~ Orange Trees Waiting ~ Now in their New Home ~

And back in for the Afternoon after another workout for some old guy way over the Hill for stuff like that
I was checking back over my Blogs, it seems I mad a change of some kind almost every Day in February so far
It surely has been a busy Month for me, and looks brighter and cleaner and I like the look of the place a lot better
I just can't sit still and vegetate, I need things to do to keep me happy and occupied

And that was really all the action for Tuesday, all finshed with my Projects by 2 p.m, Cocktail time
Then I just coasted the rest of the Day, played some Music on my TV Sound System with a program I found on the HP
I had never run into the 'Smart Audio' application on my old HP for all the Years I've had it
But I was playing around on it looking for Music to play on the TV, found it, tried it and really like it

So I sipped my Margarita, played loud Music, on through the Afternoon and Evening and finished with a Movie

Now... Wednesday already! Don't time just fly when you are having fun!

~ More Carpet Moving ~
~ Transplanted a Pepper ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Monday Morning, woke up at 3:30 a.m. Managed to stay in bed until 4 a.m. Just had to get going again
And I worked on this and that, Computer, Email, Blog, then started on some Carpet Switching again
I had the old area Rug from the Living Room installed in the Hall, and the one removed from the Hall waiting
The Red one in the Bedroom had gone well with my Red Sheets and Blankets but not so good with the new Blue Comforter
I decided to switch to the dark Tan Rug taken out of the Hall, first vacuumed the Red one and the rest of the Floor
Rolled up the Red one, then rolled out the Tan Carpet, just a bit larger and looks good... Now what to do with the Red one?

And another really nice warm Day on Sunday and more to come, Monday then at 61 and going to 70 later
And saying 77 on Wednesday, and nice the rest of the Week.. WOW! Thinking of taking the Orange Trees outside<
I read they could take a low Temperature of 29 Degrees, not many of those nights left now

Next, another early Morning project, Two Peppers in One Pot, when they get some size you want only One
In the AeroGardens I usually pull the extra ones and toss them, but here were Two nice Plants
So let's try a Transplant... moved one pepper to another Pot, if it works, great! But if not, at least I tried

~ Two Peppers in the Pot ~ Each with it's own Pot ~

So a 61 degree start on the Day but gloomy with light Rain falling, stopped a bit later, the afternoon turned out Sunny
65 Degrees at 2 p.m. Headed out back to take a look, Spring coming you know, more planting soon?
Checking for a place to Transplant the Two Orange Trees now inside, getting too tall to keep there
So another Kookie Idea... Might be too early in the Season but going to move them out back, see if they can adapt
So I dug a couple Holes, nice and deep, that's enough work for the Afternoon, might transplant them on Tuesday

~ Orange Trees in the Living Room ~ Their new Home Site Outside ~

And so then, again, I mixed my Margarita and caught up on the Democratic griping on the TV, glad it's them and not me
I was totally dreading having to watch that unmentionable Woman doing her bit on the TV News... Horrible!
Anyway, sitting there being bored I started thinking of the Orange Tree Move, they were behind me on the Floor
So I got up and back to work, not all that easy, took the Lamp off the Shelf, removed the Basil Plant in the Pot
Then moved the Shelf, slid ot the first Tree, then the Canna Plant, then the last Tree, brought in another Shelf
Set the Shelf next to the Window, put the Canna on top, moved the Lamp shelf back, put the Basil and lamp back on the shelf

~ Orange Trees moved Out ~ Shelf moved in for the Canna Plant ~

All set for Tuesday then, the Trees sitting next to the Door ready for the move out back
And that was the Finale for a very busy Monday... Off to another nice 72 Degrees Day on Tuesday

~ Ever Onward and Upward! ~

~ New Peppers Planted ~
~ Some Carpet Rearranging in the Bedroom this Time ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Sunday Morning, went to bed way too early on Saturday Night, up at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday
Had a busy Day Saturday, I got up too early then too, I think it was 4 a.m. so it was a long busy Day
And another gorgeous Day for Saturday, don't know if it set another record but those 70 Temps are very nice
It was 51 Degrees at 7 a.m. Sunday and saying it was going to my favorite Temperature of 72... Great again!

And so, I finished up my DVD updating early in the Day, later back on the Net I clicked on an interesting link
It took me to a Site where everything was jumping around, buzzers and lights flashing so I got out of there quick and shut down
Then I fired up again, got my anti-bug Programs going, thought I had it all whupped

But Sunday Morning things were not right... Programs running very slow, Music jumpy, my 'Settings' Icon wouldn't work
So what to so, started running Anti-Virus again but it was taking forever too, and so... System Restore
That completed but a notice said System Error or something and 'Could not restore the System - Try again'
But I went ahead and tested a few things, everything OK again, whatever it was, that fixed it (for now anyway)

So how to start the Day, even before Breakfast, that empty AeroGarden, emptied the Water, cleaned it out
Got it all prepped to install a new Crop, what this time? I had 'Mini Bell Pepper' Seeds and 'Red Popper Pepper' Seeds
They are quite similar, I have two plantings of them growing, I don't remember which kind where, this time I chose the Red Poppers

~ New Peppers Planted in AeroGarden 5 ~

And then I started on a busy Morning, one thing leading to another on the to-do list, these Idea just pop up
I have been thinking of moving the Carpet in the Bedroom a foot or so for awhile, not so easy to do
One end was under the Chest of Drawers and the Night Stand, all loaded with stuff, hard to vacuum under there
So two things to be accomplished, take the Drawers out so I could move them and also tossing a lot of stuff from them
I had three Drawers filled with old electric Cables and Items I would never use again, outdated stuff mostly
So I emptied those Drawers and filled several bags with stuff to toss, then took out the Drawers and moved the Items
Took the Carpet out from under and then put everything back except the junk, loaded it in the AeroCart
Trundled it up to the Dumpster and tossed it all in, more space for other junk in the Bedroom now

Ran the Cart out back after the dump to store it there, noticed the Rhubarb decided to start popping up
Well, several Days in the 70s, sure feels like Spring now and supposed to be this way all week

~ The Rhubarb thinks it is Spring! ~

On to the rest of the day, the usual Routine, tried that reworked Arroz con Pavo again
That extra packet of Rice worked, the heat down to a tasty level now... Then two great old Movies
Watched the 'Music Man' and "Mr Roberts" all over again, they don't make them like that any more

Another nice Day Sunday... Now let's go see what riches Monday can bring!

~ Ever Onward and Upward! ~

~ DVD Converting Finished ~
~ New AeroGarden Project ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Saturday Morning, another nice Day ahead they say, was a record High of 76 on Friday in Kansas City
Now 40 Degrees at 7 a.m. Saturday, not quite such a high projected for today at 72 and Sunny but that's GREAT!
First thing I finished up the last Two DVD conversions, I did a Total of 36 DVD Discs overall, quite an overhaul

~ The 36 DVDs Converted ~ The Stack on the Right ~

And then off to the Kitchen for my Coffee, checked the Pickling Peppers to see if they were recovering
And NO! It doesn't look like they survived the lack of Water for the Days the 'Add Water' noticed failed
So, I will Harvest the Peppers on those Plants and see if I have any more of those Seeds to start again

~ Sweet Pickling Pepper Plants Gone ~

And I went down to the Fast Stop to trade in some Winning Lottos on Friday, and some chat with Navru
I guess I had mentioned my BBQ Smoking to him before, he asked if we could get together some time and do some BBQ
And I said you must mean 'Grilling' and my type of BBQ takes a long time, several hours anyway
So that may be on the Agenda for sometime, and I can Charcoal Grill or Smoke in my Smoker, whatever we decide

And so... My Garden Project, I snipped off the Two Plants in AeroGarden 5 and harvested the 48 little Peppers
Found some Pickling Brine in the Fridge, heated it to Boiling, dropped in the Peppers, then the Peppers into a Jar
Now, let the Peppers pickle for awhile and then see what they taste like, they said 'Sweet Pickling Peppers'

~ Sweet Pickling Peppers Pickled ~

And all that done by 10:30 a.m. Time to seek my Fortune of the Day, off to the Price Chopper to buy Lottos
Cashed in a $5 Winner, Bought $20 more Scratchers and a $2 Show Me Cash 'Easy Match', I won $2 Instantly when I bought it
And it is still valid for the Nights Drawing, might win a few Thousand more? Well I did win my $20 of Scratchers back

Back to try to moderate my Arroz con Pavo, the last Jalapenos I grew were the Hottest I ever tasted
So I only used one moderate sized one in my Arroz but it was still 'MAS Picante!' than I like it (too hot)
So what was the Plan, I had another bag of Uncle Ben's Ready Rice, I put that in a Pot with a little Chicken Stock
Warmed it up a little then started adding my Arroz Picante a little at a time... Including the Stuff I froze
Added another Teaspoon of Turmeric, mainly for the Yellow Color.. but I like the Taste it adds too
So after a bit of slow heating the ixyurd came together and a bit milder I hope, I didn't even try it
Back into freezer containers and one in the Fridge to try later and the rest in the Freezer

Well then that was pretty much the Day wrapped up except for the Evening entertaiment
Now let's go see what Sunday may have in store for Fame and Fortune and Enjoyment

~ Much more DVD Converting ~
~ Some Arroz con Pavo (yes 'Pavo') ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Well now, so busy all day on Friday that I didn't start on my 'Daily Drivel' until this Morning, Saturday
And I started very early on converting more old DVDs to BD-R... And lots of them, more than I thought
Easy enough to do, just put the DVD in my Drive, copy the .m2ts File, then enter the File in my Video Editor
Save it as a new Video then burn to a BD-R and Finito!... I could just put the DVD in to copy, then go do something else
Then back to put the BR-R in to burn and then start again on another one, got most all finished by Bed Time

And then a Cooking Project... or Experiment... I was watching 'Beat Bobby Flay' on TV
They were having a Contest making 'Arroz con Pollo', (Chicken and Rice)... I haven't done that for a long time
And thinking as I had two big Turkey Breasts in the Freezer, how about trying some 'Arroz con Pavo' (Turkey with Rice)
So off to the Price Chopper for some Rice, I had about everythng else I needed here, then put a Breast out to thaw

Sometime in the Afternoon I put another DVD in to copy, then burn, then headed to the Kitchen
I put some Olive Oil in the Pot, then some chopped Onion, chopped Green Pepper, Garlic and a Jalapeno
Let that simmer slowly while I diced up the Turkey Breast, put it in the Oven with some Olive Oil to brown up a little
Then I added a Can of Tomato Sauce and a Can of Diced Tomatoes to my Onions and Peppers, then the Herbs and Spices
Some Salt, Black Pepper, Basil, Oregano, Cumin and Turmeric and stirred that in the Tomato Sauce to simmer some more

Next the Rice, I had bought some Uncle Ben's 'Ready Rice' already cooked, just season with whatever and heat up
I stirred a packet of Rive, let that heat up again, last the Turkey, I stirred all that in, now ready for Dinner

~ My take on 'Arroz con Pavo' ~

And on then to my Afternoon Margarita and TV and more DVD converting until Dinner Time, then let's try the Arroz con Pavo
And... yes... 'Muy Picante' if not a bit too much so, I only used ONE of my Home Grown Jalapenos but it sure was a HOT one!
But my experiment was a modest success, and I have enough for four more Dinners of that now in the Freezer

Another pleasant and busy Day, might back off just a little for Saturday, just one small Project to do

~ More DVD Converting ~
~ A New Clock ~ (Like I needed One) ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

When I got that Photo of the new Peppers on the Garden 6 Plants I saw that the Plants in Garden 5 were Drooping
What now! That sure doesn't look good just when the Peppers are ripening, what could be the problem?
Lack of Water? The light comes on to say "Add Water Now"... It did recently on two other Gardens but not this one
So I checked, yeah, Water very low, I added about a Gallon, and the Pump started up, hope they will recover

~ Sweet Pickle Pepper Plants Drooping ~

So I got some more DVD converting going and then what for the Day? Well I wanted a new Clock for the Living Room
What for? There are Five Clocks in there already, Six counting the one in the Computer, well there was one bare Wall
And I have wanted a Big One for that Wall for several Years, never got around to it, decided to go get one
Headed to Walmart, got a Cart and headed for the Home Department, AHA! Right there at the end of the Aisle
Just the right size and a Clock I really liked, picked that up and headed out, got my Lottos on the way back

Stopped in an P&G Hardware for a Hanger, they have a cute little one, only takes three very small Nails
I already had one in use with a heavier Clock, works great, they say will hold 75 Pounds, doesn't look like it
Anyway, put it right there... Tap Tap Tap and done, set the Time and Day on the Clock, install a Battery and hang it

~ New Clock tells me what Day it is ~ A Clock on every Wall Now ~

And then back to the DVD converting, moving right along, several that were on Two DVDs I could put on One BD-R
Two long waiting periods when converting the Video, the File Copy from the DVD first, then after entering the File in the Editor
Burning the BD-R Disc takes the longest time, but you can do something else on the Computer while that's cooking
Or go watch TV and come back in a while to change the DVD to another one, so that went on all afternoon

On to Dinner Time, had some Turkey and Dressing to warm up, thought some Cornbread would go good with that
Just happened to have two Boxes of Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix on the Shelf, decided to bake that in my Cast Iron Skillet
Mixed up the Batter, Oiled up the Skillet and let it heat in the Oven first, then poured in the Batter to Bake
Twenty Minutes later some beautiful buttered Cornbread for Dinner and it was Hot, Sweet and Tasty!

~ Cornbread for Dinner Thursday ~

So that was a busy Thursday and now ahead for Friday, already converted two DVDs by 5 a.m. (got up at 4 a.m.)

~ Halfway through February ~
~ Rendering and Burning away on those old Videos ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And so, February 15th already, don't Time fly when yer havin' Fun, even when countin' Flowers on the Wall
Well, I now have more to do with all those old DVDs than I have time for counting Flowers, ain't none on my Wall anyway
And I converted 5 on Tuesday, starting on another one at 7 a.m. Wednesday Morning, this one needs some cuts anyway
An old Video of me preparing and Smoking Ribs, some scenes taking too much time with spreading BBQ Rub and Sauce
So, I thought I would just do some cutting on those scenes and speed up the Action to the Finish

But I tried and gave up on that... I wanted to cut the Music some and could not without cutting the narrative
But I went ahead and converted Five more and was done with those by 1 p.m. no need to convert the copies on VIMEO
They convert them to their own specifics when you upload to them, and they play online okay

~ Five more Videos Re-edited on Wednesday ~

And time did not fly in the Afternoon, a slow slow Day, I did get a peek at the tiny Sweet Pepper Plant in Garden 6
They have been blooming for some time but I just noticed several little Peppers on the Plants on Wednesday
First the one in front, then noticed several more hiding here and there, looks like we might a amall Crop of small Peppers

~ First Pepper I Saw on the Sweet Pepper Plant ~

So then as the Afternoon progressed I would trot into the Computer Room, put a DVD on to copy the .m2ts File on it
Wait awhile, then go back when the copy finished, put it in the Editor, render to an .mp4 then burn to a BD-R Disc
It takes some time to copy, then much more time to burn the Blu-ray, so I had a TV break while they cooked

Then Dinner and then the usual Movie and the usual early Bed Time, now on to Thursday

~ Some Old Video Updating ~
~ And that was about it for Tuesday ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

After my usual preliminary computer doings I started on re-rendering a DVD that would not play on my new DVD Player
Easy enough to do, just takes some time rendering after the changes... First copying the .m2ts File from the DVD
Then enter the File to my Video Editor time line... Then render to .mp4 and burn to a Blu-ray Disc
One advantage to the remake, the one I did Tuesday Morning that was in .m2ts format was too long for one DVD
A DVD only holds 4.7 GB of Video, a Blu-ray disk can hold 25 GB... So that Video was on two DVDs
I copied the files from each DVD, added them both to the Editor then rendered and burned to One BD-R Disc

~ Two DVDs Rendered to .mp4 and burned to One Blu-Ray Disc ~

So then I was thinking, probably all the older Videos I burned to DVDs would not play now, that won't do
They would play on the other two Blu-Ray Players I had, but not on my latest and supposedly greatest 'Smart' Blu-ray Player
Well, ever since VIMEO would not accept my .m2ts Video Files, I have been rendering everything to the .mp4 Video Format
And then burning them to BD-R Blu-ray Discs, so that means if I want to see my older DVDs on my Player I have to redo them

~ Re-editing and burning my old .m2ts Videos to .mp4 ~

So after I converted that DVD above from Two DVDs to one BD-R Disc I picked out 9 more on DVD, checked then on my Player
And none would play so I started converting them, takes a bit of time so I only got three done befoe I quit for the afternoon
I have 5 more waiting to be converted and need to check all the rest on my shelf to see how big a task I now have
At least now the BD-R Discs cost a lot less than when they first came out, hardly more than a DVD now

And I have a big stack of them waiting to be used, looks like I have something to keep me busy for a long time

Now on to the new Day, halfway through February already!
