~ News Years Eve Day all Day! -
~ And a Happy Pay Day Too! ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

So for the Day I thought I would whup up a quick little Video for New Years Eve, lotsa photos of ME!
Well now 'Auld Lang Syne' .... Memories of Days long Past, and for me some not so long past
I have so many good Memories it is easy to forget what few bad ones I endured, seems they were short lived
So many good times and things I have enjoyed and still enjoying, that far outnumber any bumps in my smooth road of Life

And... all my Morning Computer catchup and that Video and my online Crossword completed by 7 a.m.
Looked like this would be another very long Day, must find something to do... but what?

And it was a quiet News Years Eve Day and a quiet night too, didn't wake to hear any Fireworks if there were any
Just a tiny bit of Gardening, added Nutrient to Gardens 5, 6 and 7... Watered the Dwarf Spruce Trees out front
Then in the Kitchen in Garden 4, only one Swiss Chard Plant in six Pods so far, so I pulled out two Pods
Added Pickling Pepper Seeds to those and set them back in, try for something that will grow maybe

Then a trip to the Minit Mart for Lottos, No Go, so back to the Price Chopper for a couple things
And a $15 Win this time, not ending the year with much of a Win

Later... Dinner and watched some of my Videos to end out the Old Year, then off to Bed to rest up for the the New

~ Pay Day Tomorrow! -
~ And New Year's Eve! ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The Day before the Day again, my favorite Day of the Month falls on the last Day of the Year
And a whole new Year ahead starts Sunday and in a little more than a Week another Birthday
But what for Today, sure nothing special so far except they say Sunny and a high of 53... Great!

First, let's check the rescued Cannas in the Kitchen, one brought out on the 27th turning Green now
And the one brought out on the 28th is beginning to open a Leaf, looks like they are ready to go
One is left in the Pantry, wonder if it is going to wake up? I'll check it now and then

~ Canna changing Color after a couple Days ~

The one above changing Color also has a new Leaf showing and the one Below has a leaf opening up too

~ This Canna spreading it's Wings ~

And a peek at Aerogarden 6 in the Living Room, checking on the Pepper planted on Thursday
And Lookee there already, that Seed was really ready to go, popped up on Friday Morning!

~ Pepper planted One Day Pops Up! ~

And then on through a Sunny and warmer Day, a trip to Walmart to try to get an Auto Lube, too big a crowd
Tried for some Lottos wins, no go there either, and on through the rest of a nothing much Day
Now Saturday Morning, New Years Eve Day and no celebration at all planned, just hoping it is a quiet night
The best thing about today is that it is Pay Day but the amounts are not impressive...
My Social Security Check is $1 less than Last Year and my IBM Check is 41 Cents more, now that is progress!

Oh well, some Money in the Bank for a few Days now, let's go have a great time!

~ Two more Days to Pay Day! -
~ And Three More Days until a New Year! ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And the first thing on the Agenda for Thursday was to tool over to KC Skin and Cancer Center
Time to remove the Sutures from that last Ear Operation, and be glad of that... They Itch!

So I poured my Apple Juice and made my Coffee, took a look at the AeroGardens, still only one Pepper in Garden 6
Well it has been 11 Days, time to drop a couple more Seeds in there to see if I can get a second Pepper
Then on to the rest of the Computering before I had to leave for my Appointment

On the way to the Doctor at 8:30 a.m. Got there and got in right away, into the little Room and snip snip snip...
All done, headed back by the Price Chopper to trade in a $15 Win... Won $40 back
Back to the Fast Stop then to trade and won $15 more, back then to the Price Chopper and only won $10
That was enough of that for the Day and no profit again after all that winning

Had some Lunch about 1 p.m. The Doc says to eat and drink more... I am doing it, don't know if it is working
Anyway, I had a Chili Dog and a sip of Vino Tinto and then a catchup with my AeroGarden Plants
And it looks like since I junked the Tomato out of Garden 5 the 'Pickling Peppers' are doing great
They look more like the picture of them online and now have a lot of little white Buds all over
I think these Plants are short enough to not outgrow the Grow Lights and hope I get a ton of little Peppers

~ Pickling Peppers looking Great! ~

And again that was about all of it for another boring Day, guess I need a job or something
But I have another Motto that relates to why I don't want a job... or any go to assignment...
"I just do not want to be anywhere I do not want to be when I don't want to be there!"

So, more uneventful Afternoon, uneventful Evening, nothing special Dinner... Hu Hum
Well, Pay Day Saturday and New Years Day Sunday... Hip Hip... Hurray!

~ And Two more Cannas from the Pantry! -
~ And that's about all She Wrote... ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Ok on that previous Wednesday Blog I was talking about Monday and Tuesday Stuff...
Now I want to get back to my usual way of talking about doing things the Day before
And collect what I do on Wednesday as I go along... Hard to remember the next Day anyway

So, first thing even before I finished my Morning Computer runaround I rescued one more Canna
I pulled another Pot out from under the Shelf and there was a tiny leaf sticking up
So I brought it out and set it between the other two recently rescued Plants from the Pantry

~ The Third Canna rescued from the Pantry ~

And... there is another Pot with a Canna Stalk sticking up, unopened yet, so another project for me
Looks like the Rhizomes of that Plant were growing so big they were misshaping the thin plastic of the Pot
So instead of keeping that one in the Pot, I had another Pot I could move it to
Then I can dig out the rest of the Rhizome, maybe divide it and keep 'them' for Spring Planting
Well that will be the big project for the Day and keep me busy for some time anyway

And so, I headed back to the Pantry, brought out the Pot with the Canna Stalk sticking up...
Then I dug out the Pepper Root from one of the other Pots in the Kitchen and tossed it
Next I dug deep all around the emerging Canna Stalk, lifted out the Rhizone section I had cut out
Then inserted it into the hole where I had dug out the Pepper Root, some water and now we wait and see

~ And a Canna 'Rhizome' Replanted ~

Well now, my 'Big' Project for the Day was already completed before Shower time and 9 a.m.
Time to jump in the Shower and tool off into the Cold Sunshine to find that Pot of Gold
This time I thought the Minit Mart was due, hadn't been there for a few Days
And it was due for a little, a $15 Win, then down the Road a bit to State Farm Insurance
They have been giving me a Calendar for over 30 Years, thought I wouldn't get one this Year
I switched to Progressive when I got the Mercedes, much cheaper Fee, but then the State Farm Agent called me
He said he could now beat the Progressive Price so I switched back, now I have my Free Calendar!

And then, the rest of the Day was the same as the one before, into the Afternoon and nothing much to do
Idled through my Afternoon and Evening routine then and finished off another unremarkable Day

~ Rescued another Canna -
~ Another Ho-Hum Day ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Tuesday Morning, bored already at 8 a.m. After all that Christmas Photo and Song displaying, just seems like nothing to do
But seems I kept pretty busy all day Yesterday (Monday) doing nothing, so I'll see what I can dream up Today (Tuesday)
I did get out to chase down a few Lottos Wins... I won $20 at the Price Chopper, even up there
Then back to the Fast Stop, traded and won back $15, a loss of $5, well not too bad at that for a loser Day

OK, all my Morning Routine on the Computer done by 8 a.m. Then a look at the Plants in the Kitchen...
Just happened to take a peek in the Pantry again, another pale Canna Plant was starting to grow
Well, couldn't leave the poor thing in the dark, brought it out, junked the overgrown Tomato Plant on the Shelf
Replaced it with the Canna, the first one I rescued seems to be doing great now

~ Another Canna rescued from the Pantry ~

The only outing for the Day was a short trip down to the Fast Stop for more chit and chat with the Clerk
And with some old guy that hangs around back of the Counter now and then, kinda senile but friendly
Then traded in my $15 Winner for $20 worth of losers and headed back to finish out the Day the same old way

I had my afternoon Margarita as usual and then a bonus of a Cup of Eggnog with Rum... Hum Hum...
And a switch on Dinner, got out a carton of Ham and Bean Soup from the Freezer, thawed and heated it...
Another Yum Yum... with a hunk of buttered Cornbread

And that was all for Tuesday, WHEN IS SPRING?

~ My New Crops are Waking Up -
~ New Peppers ~ Tomatoes ~ Swiss Chard ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

So... I just posted Monday's Blog Monday Morning so my Blog timing is off... Usually post the Day after
Anyway it is still Monday Morning now when I am starting on this one... On to the new Week...
Another look at that Aerogarden 6, there was no Sign of the Peppers Sunday but one popped up this Morning

~ First Pepper showing in AeroGarden 6 ~

And a check out in the Kitchen on Sunday, one of the Swiss Chard plants had peeked up
So it looks like most all the new Crops are on their way, just something else to play with

~ Chard Starting in Garden 4 ~

Again no plans at all, just take what comes I suppose, nothing needs to be Cooked or Gardened
So first, the new Month coming, I scheduled a load of online Payments to be made first part of January
Nice to get that out of the way... Waiting for my dinky Social Security Pay 'decrease'... Probably what it will end up being...
Want to see what my IBM HRA Account amount will be also... Didn't increase at all last Year

Ok then, what about the rest of a not much going on Day... Well not much, slow Morning, slow Afternoon, long Evening
Some running around for Lottos, a few small winnings, just a hum drum Day, nice Dinner and off to bed

So now Tuesday Morning, a little Colder but over Tops over 40 the rest of the Week they say
So I'll just post this dribble of drivel and see what I can dig up for Tuesday

~ New Year's Day? When is that? ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Christmas Morning, just finishing up my Christmas Blog and starting on this one for the new Week
Took a look at the Living Room Gardens, Lettuce is up in 6 and 7 and new Tomatoes just popping up in Garden 7
No sign of the Peppers I planted in Garden 6 yet, I'll keep looking for that

~ Tomatoes Popping up in Garden 7 ~

Then out to the Kitchen for some of Pat's Cranberry Bread and a glass of Milk... And what's that in those Pots?
Oh, those are the Pots the Mexibell Pappers were in and I thought had finished up, I cut the Plants off and dumped them
So now are they trying to come back? I put them on Trays to catch the Water and them gave them a Drink, see what they do

~ Are the Mexibells trying to Revive? ~

And then I headed out into the damp but warm December Morning... well 47 Degrees ain't too bad...
The parking lots at the Shopping Center were all empty, a one Day a Year sight, but the Minit Mart was open
I traded in my $25 wins for $25 More Tickets, back to only get a $10 Winner, well let's go get more...

And the the Fast Stop was also open so I tooled down the hill, Traded in my Winners, bought $20 more
Back then to only scratch off another $10 Winner, so back to the Minit Mart... Got $20 more
And got $20 more again, and this time only scratched off a $5 Win, time to quit and wait for the Price Chopper to open
That all sounds like not so many Wins and more Losses, but I ddn't lose as much as it looks like

Then on into the Afternoon and the Sun peeked out, and it was 62 Degrees at 1 p.m. Very nice...
The rest of the Day was just ho hummm and the same as most Afternoons except it was really warm and windy outside
I did a re-run of the Roast Goose, Dressing and Tater Dinner and went to Bed way too early again

Now Monday Morning and warm for the Season at 44 Degrees and 56 this Afternoon, nice enough
Christmas is all over and I think I had a bit too much of it... But fun while it lasted...
Now I am ready to see New Years Day and my Birthday on January 11th, buy me something nice for a change!

Just a quiet Christmas Day all Day for me, everything went great the whole Month of December
I have had more Cristmas Days than ever this year, maybe I even overdid it, but I did enjoy every Day
So on to this quiet thoughtful Day and I'll tell you on Monday if there were any special Events...
Other than another Roast Goose Dinner and a couple more Cups of Eggnog

~ My Twenty-Fourth Day of Christmas -
~ A Day before Christmas all Day! ~

~ A Christmas Eve Story ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Christmas Eve Morning, Weather looked the same as Friday, 31 Degrees at 8 a.m. Top of 47 later, and NO SNOW!
No big plans for the Day at all, go get some Juice and Milk and Lottos from the Store and that's all the outings for the Day
And my Goose is cooked! No cooking planned except to hot up a plate of Roast Goose and Dressing, some Mashed Taters maybe?
So it looks like maybe a slow and quiet Day... all Day...

A slow getting around Saturday Morning, puttering with this and that, and I rendered and burned another DVD of that bad(?) one
Planned to try that later and watch it all the way through to see if it works OK, (hope, hope)
Then off to the Price Chopper, needed Apple Juice and Milk, And... Caribbean Rum, prepared Egg Nog, heavy Cream

But first a stop on the way, my friend and neighbor Pat had mentioned she would like to try some of my Goose
I had carved off a half Goose Breast for her, wrapped and in a 'Cool Sack' ...Called first and asked if she would be home...
Yes... And I headed up the Hill, around the Corner and into her Drive, she was on the back Porch
She came out to the Car, I handed her the Package... "Merry Christmas' and I was on my way...

So then I got all my Eggnog needs and other things, and added some more Candies and Nuts for Snacks
And of course my $20 worth of new Lottos as another Christmas Present from me to me

~ Got my Preps for my Eggnog ~

Back home for the Day after my one and only outing, a stay at home and do a Christmas Day... all Day
I put my stuff away and then worked my Lottos, One $10 and One $15 Win, Made $5 profit, I'll trade them in on Sunday
And then it was just that puttering around all Day that I had figured on, but did keep busy at this and that

When it ticked around to my Margarita time, I mixed it and headed back to the TV to try my new Blu-ray DVD
That thing is an hour of Christmas Music, Videos and animated GIFs... A lot of Christmas there
And Glory Be! It played the entire thing beautifully and without a single Glitch! I won again!
And I thought it was a good try but not just as I wanted originally, you couldn't see the Animations work
Originally I planned to do a Video of it playing on my TV, but the Video wasn't sharp enough that way

So I just used my Computer to take a 'Screen Shot' of each Blog Day and then add a Music or Video track
A much better looking way to view those 25 Pages is to use my Computer hooked to the TV
That way I can advance to any Day, hit the 'Start' on the Video or Song to play it
And you can see all the Animations on the Page doing their 'Animating', the Lights and Photos and all

So then I took a Kitchen break to get my Christmas Dinner started, I mixed my Eggnog first
A quart of prepared Eggnog in the Pitcher, then a Pint of Heavy Cream, some Cinnamon, stirred that up
Then into the Fridge until sipping time, then added a couple Ounces of Rum to the Cup of Nog

Next, made some Goose Gravy, yummm... easy, a 1/4 Cup of Goose Fat, 1/4 Cup of Flour, stir that up on low heat
Then add Chicken Stock and stir in more as the Gravy thickens to the consistency you like... Wah Lah!
Set that back to hold warm and then made some super Creamy Mashed Taters... All I needed for Dinner later
Back to the TV with one more Margarita! Well it's Christmas! Watched more Holiday stuff until Dinner Time

And then the Feast! Mashed Taters and Turkey Dressing on the Plate, the Meat from a fat Goose Leg
And all of that covered with my tasty Goose Gravy that turned out quite good... All I needed on that Plate

~ My Christmas Eve Nightcap ~

As the Christmas Eve finale approached, I poured a Cup of my Eggnog, added two Ounces of Rum, back to the TV
Then I watched my Video of 'Why the Chimes Rang' one more time and then called it a Christmas Eve Day and off to bed
That winds up most all of this Year's Christmas for me, and a great one... Now Christmas Day all Day
And I will just kick back and let the Holiday slip away... and wait for the New Year to show up

~ My Twenty-Third Day of Christmas -
~ Chat at the Coffee Shop ~ Roasted my Goose ~

~ Twas the Night before Christmas ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

OK, now it is the Day before Christmas as I write but what about Friday? I was too busy to start on this Diatribe
Some good times, some busy times and one big disappointment, but as always... We will overcome... Always do
I can start with the first Good Time of the long Day... Weather kind of Damp but not really cold
I started out making copies of my long Christmas DVD for Lewis Jonas and Don Kixmiller to take to the Coffee Shop
Finished that, Printed Case Labels, finished my Morning Routine and headed Downtown about 8:15 a.m.

Not many Downtown that Friday Morning, people getting ready for the Holiday I suppose, parked right in front
Went in to see Pat and Lewis all by themselves at the usual Table, I joined in, gave Lewis his DVDs
Also gave him the Two I had brought for Don Kixmiller, to give to him next time he came in
Then lots of chat until some time after 9 a.m. when we all had places to go, I headed to the Price Chopper
I got my stuff and my Lottos, headed home to putter through the rest of the Day, had my Goose to Roast

I started on that in the early Afternoon, out of the Fridge and then trimming and prepping it for the Oven
And what a messy job that was! Talk about FAT, that thing was full of it, so slippery it was hard to hold
But I trimmed off the extra Skin and Fat, put the Fat in a Pot to render out, put the trimmings into another for Broth
I got those Pots simmering away, seasoned the Goose and set it Breast Side down on the Rack and into the Oven
One of the Recipes I found and liked said to Roast Thirty Minutes Breast down then Thirty Minutes Breast up
The first Hour at 425 Degrees, then lower the Oven Temp to 350 Degrees for another Hour or Hour and a Half

OK, Goose in the Oven, Margarita mixed to sip while I played out my new Video on my TV, over an Hour of Music
It was going great and looking and sounding good until about halfway through and then the big disappointment
The Video began sputtering, stopping and starting like it was buffering from a slow internet Speed
Well it wasn't on the Internet, was playing on my Blu-ray Player wired to my TV with an HDMI Cabele
So what's wrong? Bad DVD recording? Bad DVD Player? Bad TV? I was very unhappy after all my work on that

Anyway... I went on to my Cooking and the rest of the Afternoon, Goose out of the Oven to cool some
Later I carved up the Goose, packaged it all up and into the Fridge for later, didn't even sample it

~ My Roast Goose ~ Hope it Tastes better than it Looks! ~

They say there is a lot of Fat and there surely is plenty of that, I had a container of Fat all nicely strained
And another of the Broth I simmered the Giblets and Neck in, chopped the Meat, added it and packaged the Broth
Then the other Bones and odds and ends of Trimmings into another Pot to simmer away for more Broth
That finished the Goose trial for me, now all ready to construct a Christmas Dinner Feast later on Saturday

So now it is Christmas Eve Morning, all ready for the Day... But first I wanted to check that Video problem
I had played the entire Video back on my Computer from the Editor File once again, no glitches at all
So maybe a Bad DVD burn? I played the DVD on my Computer... again no glitches, don't tell me it is my new DVD Player?
Anyway, my main concern is that I may have given Pat and Lewis and Don some bad DVDs... I'll check with them

So, Christmas Eve Day, I'll have a Happy Day and wish the same to any and all who might read this Drivel
It gives me something to do and something to remember about all of my Happy Times and I sure have had a lot of them!

~ My Twenty-Second Day of Christmas -
~ One More Try at the Dermatologist ~

~ Oh Little Town of Bethlehem ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Thursday Morning, 30 Degrees to start my trip to the Dermatologist at 7:45 a.m. Be glad to get it over with
I atarted this 'Mohs' surgery stuff Five Years ago with a Carcinoma on my left Ear, this time it is my right Ear
I hope he leaves enough of it so I can still hear what's going on, losing my hearing too much anyway

So... My Dermatologist had two Offices about 15 Miles apart, couldn't get in to the one a Mile away until March
So I opted to go the the Farthest Office on Thursday, much sooner... Several ways to get there and I chose the wrong one
Could use three different Interstates to get there, depending on time of Day the traffic can be fierce!
So I chose the shortest Route which also was the busiest at 8 a.m. ...I set out at 7:30, my Appointment wes at 8:30

Well I sure am not up to the Speed these nuts want to drive during Rush Hour... 80 MPH in a 70 MPH Zone
So they were zipping around me on the left and on the Right, several 'Exit Only' Lanes also added to my problem
But after a worrisome drive of 45 Minutes, I got there at 8:15 a.m. and tottered into the Building
Just a short wait and I was ushered in the exam Room right at Appoinment time, some attention from the Nurse first
And then the Doctor came and started his process... First the Anesthetic and I didn't even feel it! Very nice
Then some snipping away that caused no discomfort much at all, just hear and feel the pressure of the Instruments
He was finished in a short while, got a temporary Bandage and sent to the Patient Waiting Room with several others

After maybe an Hour I was called back in... here is the Moment of Truth, does he need to snip more, or sew it up?
I lucked out on this trip, got it all the first try, just need to sew it up and Bandage and head for Home
So it was ater 10 a.m. then and the Rush Hour was over, but I took the longer and quieter Route
I stopped in at the Fast Stop for my Lottos, just about Home then, and chatting with the Clerk again
And I got a call from Pat while I was there, she wanted to come over for a Visit that afternoon... Fine

So back home to scratch off Nothing and then putter around until Visiting time about 1:30 p.m.
She knocked, came in with a big Sack filled with Christmas Goodies... How do I rate this?
A Bottle of Chianti... Great! I like that, Jar of Cherries for my Margaritas, Bag of my Favorite Coffee
A Loaf of Cranberry Bread and a Loaf of Banana Bread, Two bags of TV Snacks, that Loot will last me until New Years Day!

~ Santa Patricia's Bag of Christmas Goodies! ~

Well then, for her I had a Blu-Ray DVD of my Downtown Parkville Christmas Video and had just finished the new one
I had a DVD rendering when she came in... of the Video I worked on for several Days, lots of hours doing that one
I had to play her the Parkville Video on my TV, and she liked that one, then I slipped in the new DVD just made
And WHAT! the Player said it could not play that Format! HUH, was the same as the one I just played
Took a look at the DVD, didn't look like it had recorded anything, Oh well, went back to the Computer to start another

And that takes awhile, so on to the Afternoon's entertainment, first she worked a Crossword on my TV from my Computer
Then on with the Show, I put on a Movie, then Drinks and Popcorn while that old Movie 'The Graduate' played out
I slipped out into the Computer Room a couple times to check on the new DVD, also printed a Case Lable

~ The First Copy of my Christmas Blog Video ~

So the pleasant afternoon drew to a close and the DVD was finished, and I put it on to see if it worked... And it Did!
It is a long one and it was time for her to head up the Hill so we only watched few Minutes of it... Looks good
Put it back in the Case, she packed up and that was the end of another pleasant and entertainng afternoon Visit
And then they all lived happily ever after!... Now Friday Morning, heading down to the Coffee Shop, more tomorrow about that

~ My Twenty-First Day of Christmas -
~ A 'Warm' AFternoon? ~

~ A White Christmas ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Wednesday Morning, 7 a.m. and 28 Degrees, why am I paying such attention to the Weather lately anyway?
Because I am looking for a warm Day, that is why and it looks like we have one coming this Afternoon... 48 Degrees!
Maybe I can get the Blazer started and get the Tires pumped up later in the Day

So, more new Crops Started on Tuesday, no Gardening work in store for a few Days now so then what?
And besides the Tires, what else do I have planned today anyway? Well, maybe new Glasses?
I got an Eye Exam and Prescription several months back and never tried to get the new Glasses they pay for

But now, need to get my Coffee and try to find Christmas Scenes and Songs for the last Two Days I need
I already have all except the 22nd and 23rd, I already have the 24th and 25th ready to add on those Days

Then.... at 8 a.m. I had the 22nd and 23rd Christmas parts finished, next to work my daily Crossword
And have another Cup of Coffee to get in the Mood of adding the last 4 Blog Days to the Video I am working on

So I worked on my Photo stuff for a while longer, then headed down the Hiil to the Fast Stop for Lottos
Got my Lottos, then spent more time Chatting with the Clerk and an old Guy that sits behind the Counter now and then
Finally had enough of that and then back Home to scratch off NOTHING... and try to find something else to do

Well something else to do was head back to the Minit Mart for more loser Lottos and to Air up my low Tire
And it was surely low, took the entire time for the $1.50 in Quarters to run out to fill it
Then back home again to scratch off the latest loser Lottos all over again... ZILCH for the Day

On into the Afternoon and thinking of what's for Dinner, plenty here in the Fridge and Freezer, then thinking of Christmas
Well I have a lot of Roasted Turkey still left from T-day, I sure don't need much else... but...
I have always wanted to Roast a Goose, I tried to find one a couple years back but couldn't find one anywhere
But I saw some at the Price Chopper a few Days back... let's go get one... and I did, just about 7 pounds
They had Two left in the Cooler, I picked one out, brought it home, and got a Photo, now to thaw and Roast it

~ A Goose to Roast for Christmas ~ Always Wanted to try One ~

So I put the Goose in the Fridge to thaw and then made a Dinner of Chicken, Mashed Taters, Gravy and Buttered Carrots
That did fine to finish off a busy Wednesday not doing much of anything... but keeping at it all Day

Now Thursday Morning, I have to set off on what is a long Journey for me, my Dermatologist has an office a Mile away
But they moved my Appointment to his Overland Park, Kansas Office, which is more like Ten or Twelve Miles
So, I'm supposed to be there at 8:30 a.m. and I will have to leave here about 7:45 to make it... and that traffic!
Oh well, into each life some Snow must fall... not on this Christmas though, supposed to rain!

Tuesday Mornng 15 Degrees, what's with this Cold anyway... but going to 44 at least later
I am just not liking these past few Days of December... But they say we will have a Wet Christmas in the 60s!
I'll believe that when I feel it... But I like a warm Rain better thn a cold Snow

And a peek first thing at my new Lettuce Crops, Five of the Six Pods planted had popped up on Tuesday Morning
I'll give that Number Six Pod a couple days and then drop a couple more Seeds there if it doesn't pop up

~ New Lettuce planted Saturday December 17th ~

Up at 3 a.m. again but got in Nine Hours of Sleep... sort of, seems I lie awake thinking more than sleeping
Got all my Computer fooling around done by 5 a.m. then what? Guess some more working on my new dubious Christmas Video
Dubious meaning I don't know if this one will be worth all the effort I am spending on it
Other than that no other Plans for the Day... except maybe trying to Air up a low Tire on my Blazer
Don't know if that will work or if I have to replace the Tire... well we shall see

And waiting for my Pepper and Tomato Seeds, on the way Today, decided to replant AeroGraden 4
Just sitting Idle for a couple Months, might as well put it to work with something or other
Checking my Plant Seeds, what might work in that small Garden, it is better than the 3 Pod Gardens, not as good as the 7 Pods
Still had some Swiss Chard Seeds, tried that before, didn't do so good, might as well try again
So I planted a Chard Seed in each of the Six Pods and slipped them into Garden 4... and now we wait

~ Swiss Chard now Planted in Garden 4 ~

On to the Afternoon, checked my Email, said my new Seeds were delivered so I trotted up to the Mailbox
And they were there, back down the Hill to get them into the Gardens, Planted Four Pods, Two for each Garden
Already have Lettuce sprouting in those, now have added Tomatoes and Peppers, see if they do better than the last try

~ Peppers planted in Garden 6 and Tomatoes in Garden 7 ~

And then it was Dinner planning and a Margarita for the Afternoon TV Session, News catch up and whatever
And then I managed to stay up until almost 9 p.m. and then back to my regular get-up time at 5:30 a.m. or so

~ My Nineteenth Day of Christmas -
~ One more Dermatologist Appointment ~

~ It Came upon a Midnight Clear ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Monday, went to bed too early at 5 p.m. and got up too early at 3 a.m. and the Temperature was 4 degrees out there
Started on the Day anyway, I was wide awake... If not rarin' to go... Made my Coffee... Did my Computer checks
Finished up Sunday's Blog and posted it, then worked my online Crossword... now what?
Well... again started on getting Photos and songs to finish up my Christmas presentation on my Blog
Made good progress, now only three Days to fill in with something new and I'll be ready for Christmas Sunday

That made it up to 5:30 a.m. Checked the Temp again just for fun... WHAT! Going the wrong way, was -3 Degrees
So they say it will make it up over 30 Degrees later in the Day... Well you gotta show me! (please)

And, I started in hunting for a Song and Photo for December 25, Christmas Day... and I found a Choir Photo
I wanted a Church Choir background Photo for 'Joy to the World'... And I found and added that
Then I made an Aninated .gif of Snow Photos I made here over the years and added 'White Christmas' to that
And I planned on putting my 'Why the Chimes Rang' on my Christmas Eve Page, that leaves only two to go

That brought me up to Shower time at 7 a.m. and the Temp had climbed to 4 Degrees by then... Keep it going
I had that Dermatologist Appointment looming at 8:45, still didn't know if I would have a way to get there
I went out about 8 a.m. to see if I could clear the Windshield, nope, still heavy with Ice, but the Engine Started
That didn't do much good as the Heater Blower doesn't work... I am taking Donations to fix that
So I just gave up and Called to reschedule my Appointment, they were sympathetic to my plight

So back out at 11 a.m. The Temp had risen to 17 and Bright Sun was helping some... Started the Engine again
Went back in to get some warm Water, started the Windshield Wiper and cleaned off the Windshield
Saw I was low on Gas too and the Gas Filler Door was frozen shut, loosened that too with warm Water
I needed Gas, something at the Pharmacist and some stuff at the Price Chopper, headed out then to try the Hill

No problem, climbed the Hill with ease, tooled over to the Minit Mart to freeze my Face in the frigid wind
Got my Gas and then back by the Price Chopper for some necessities and to cash in my winner Tickets
I thought I had $15 worth of Winners, the Girl handed me $55, one I thought was $10 was actually $50... Nice!

~ Fourth $50 Winner for December ~

Back home to scratch the $20 worth of Tickets I traded for for a win of exactly Nothing... Anyway, still ahead
Then remembered that I forgot... to stop by the Pharmacy so I made a return trip for that, then back for the rest of the Day
The rest of the Day was pretty tame, worked on some Christmas Photos for my Blog and a new Video I am trying
On to the Usual afternoon and Evening, a pretty good Day after all and a lot warmer.... Ahhhhhhh

~ My Eighteenth Day of Christmas -
~ Snowed in on Saturday ~

~ I'll be Home for Christmas ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

So I started in on Sunday a bit early, like 12:30 a.m. and it was One Degree below Zero then
Woke up wide awake and thinking about some changes to my Blog for the first half of December
That's past History now but I am thinking of making a Video of the Songs and Videos for the entire Month
There is so much Music on those Pages that I thought it would make a good Christmas Video for whenever
So I made the changes, then finished Saturday's Blog and uploaded that, and started on this one
Now as I write this it is 2 a.m. and the Temp dropped to Three Degrees below Zero... How nice for Sunday!

A couple mentions for Saturday afternoon doing my puttering, some more minor Gardening changes
The Pepper Plant in the Pot in the Living Room seemed to be giving up, the Leaves curling up
Didn't seem like it was going to do much more so I pulled it up and dumped it, then planted Basil Seeds

~ Pulled up the Pepper Plant ~ Planted Genovese Sweet Basil ~

And since I removed the overgrown Tomato Plant in Garden 5 it looks like the Peppers there are doing better
In just the last Ten Days the plants have greened up more and sporting more leaves on top

~ Pepper Plants in AeroGarden 5 December 10th and 17th ~

And then... 2:30 a.m. Headed back to Bed for a little more Sleep before facing the COLD Day ahead
Woke up at 6 a.m. and put on the Coffee, checked the Bank and my Email and Facebook and then the Weather
Oh My! Said the Temperature was Nine Degrees below Zero! I don't remember it being that Cold since I moved here
I remember one Photo I took of my Thermo out front one Year that read Four Below Zero...

~ Reading Two Below Zero in 2011 ~

On through the early Morning on the Computer, sipping my Coffee, updating my Blog, doing my Crossword online
At 9 a.m. Sunny and up to Eight Degrees below Zero, not warming very fast and won't get very high all Day... Brrrrrr
Hunted for a Christmas Photo and Song for Monday's Blog, found them and already started on that Blog
Will only have to find Four more of each to post on my Blogs until Christmas Day

And the Day moved on, so nice and Sunny and Bright but COLD! Wow! Way up to Two Degrees at 11 a.m.
I was all warmed up by then and put on my Jacket, Cap and Gloves and headed outside to shovel my walk
And then sweep the Snow off my Car Windows, all iced up and that will go nowhere fast, maybe on the Sunny side
So back to the Computer for more Songs and Photos... Then got a few, just need a couple more now

Then back out at 1 p.m. and up to 5 Degrees... Across the Street to sweep some Snow off the Blazer
I thought I would warm it up to clear the Windows but the Door was frozen shut, will try later
I would like to make it to the Price Chopper, I need a few things and didn't go out on Saturday

Then out to the Kitchen, that Canna Plant I rescued from the Pantry is changing Color
In the dark there it was a pale Yellow Color and now a week later it turned Green... Doing better or what?

~ Canna December 12 ~ And December 18 ~

When I had defrosted some I got some warm Water and headed back across the Street to unfreeze my Door
Got the Door open, slipped inside and tried to start the Engine and it tried but just wouldn't quite catch
So I gave up on that, supposed to warm up Monday so I'll try then, the Mercedes still all iced up

And then on into the usual afternoon and usual Evening, got sleepy too early and went to bed too soon
Oh well, Dermatoligist Appointment for Monday, another bump im the Road but they say it will warm up some anyway...

~ My Seventeenth Day of Christmas -
~ Planted Lettuce in Gardens 6 and 7 ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Saturday Morning, 23 Degrees, a film of Ice over everything outside, a High of 30 Degrees forecast
Light Snow starting this afternoon then heavier the rest of the Day, just a great Day to stay inside
And I have a sackful of new replacement 'Grow Sponges' to plant stuff with, and Seeds too
Waiting for Tomato and Pepper Seeds than might wotk for Plants that will fit in the AeroGardens
The last ones I tried grew Plants way too tall and they didn't produce much of anything but a few Jalapeno Peppers

~ Stuff to Start some new Crops ~

OK then... Let's plant... First a Grow Sponge, drop a few Seeds in the center Hole, place the Sponge in a Pod
Do that Five more times and then place Three Pods in each AeroGarden, already filled with Water and Nutrient
Then, set the type of Plant for the Garden, set the correct time and then the on/off times... all done
Well that didn't take any time at all, have to find something else to while out the Day

~ New Lettuce Crops Planted in Gardens 6 and 7 ~

Ice on everything out there in the Morning and then Smow began falling, people out scraping Windshields
And the Snow Plow Truck showed up spreading Salt and shoving what Snow there was so far
I had no urge to go out in that Cold and fight the Ice and Snow, I had some Christmas Cake and got back to the Computer
Still hunting up, editing and copying Christmas Photos I took and some online to my Files to add to my Blog
Making Animated Gifs and Videos of them to add to my 'Twelve Days of Christmas' Blog, will I find enough?
Downloaded another Christmas Song for Sunday's blog and made one more Animated Gif to add, done with that by Noon

On into the afternoon, Snowed in... Not by depth of the Snow, just the Ice on my Windshield and that COLD!
So just puttering around Inside trying to find something interesting to do, not finding much besides TV
The Afternoon libation, yhrn hotted up something for Dinner, ready to call it not much of a Day by 6 p.m.
But off to Bed way too early anyway, woke p about 12:30 a.m. thinking about some changed to my Blog

So I got up, put on the Coffee, fired up the Computer and started in, added several Phoots to my first December Blog
Changed the Background on that Page to match the one for the last half of December, should have done that on the First
And then saw that I hadn't deleted the laty half of the November Blog, did that... All the changed done then

Took a look at the Weather Forecast online, said 2 below Zero at 2 a.m. How low will it go?
Then decided to upload this Saturday Blog to Facebook and start on my Sunday Blog... See you on Sunday then

~ My Sixteenth Day of Christmas -
~ Got that Laptop back on the Internet ~

~ Snow and Ice on the River at Parkville ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Friday Morning, 29 Degrees at 7 a.m. but Summer Weather later, saying it will go to 39 Degrees
That's almost livable after several Days in the 20s... and saying 35 for Saturday... but also Snow
Well, it is halfway through December, only a couple months of this to go through now, but give me warm!

So what for the new Day? I see online that my new supply of Aerogarden 'Grow Sponges' is at Walmart
I'll have to trot over there sometime this morning, then maybe plant some Lettuce in AeroGarden 6 and 7
And on to my Morning Routine, had my Apple Juice, made my Coffee, checked my stuff online... all's well
Finished and Posted my Blog, then what... Oh... worked my Crossword puzzle online... Ready to jump in the Shower?

Aha! Maybe gave up too soon on that Laptop with no Network Connection... Was late in the Day when I tried my fix
So I fired up the Computer... What's that? I noticed an Icon on the Desktop that wasn't there before
Said 'Realtek Network' So I clicked on the Application, was the Set up process for the external USB Adapter
I had checked it out first with the Settings for the Internal Adapter which was Kaput... and so
I ran their process of locating a Network, entered the Network Key and WAH LAH! I was online!
So I fixed it for a litle less than Twenty Bucks, now I'll see if the Friend wants it back or keep mine

~ My Friend's Computer back on the Internet ~

And then... Off to Walmart about 10 a.m. Dismal, Cloudy and Cold... A few blocks and there was mist on the Windshield
And at 28 Degrees that sure wasn't good news, there was some accumulation by the time I got there
My super ancient Mercedes has a non-working Heater System... have to fix that some Day... but expensive!
I headed in and all the way to the back for the Pick-up Station, got my Sponges and then some Candles
And headed on back, stopping in at the Minit Mart to trade in what I thought was $20 in wins... but HEY HEY!
One that I thought was only $10... was actually 5 X $10... Great! a $50 Win... got $40 more
Then back to scratch off only one little $5 Win... anyway, way ahead of the game the last few Days

~ The Fourth $50.00 Win for December! ~

Wasn't really in the mood to start on my new plantings and needed some things from the Price Chopper again
So I got my stuff, decided to try my luck again after all those Morning winnings, Got $25 more, won $25 back
Back then just to finish out that Cold drab Day, mostly the same old way... Ho hum

Now Saturday, cold Morning at 25 Degrees, supposed to Snow... Peeked out the Door, no snow yet
But looks like that fine mist that was falling yesterday has but a thin film of Ice over everything
I am sure in no hurry to get out into that any time soon, looks like it will be an indoor planting Day

~ A Little Snow at Windscape Apartments ~

Thursday Morning... 18 Degrees and with a High of 20 for the Day... I want Spring already!
I don't remember the Cold bothering me this much before although it has been much colder now and then
We were just treated so nice with the exceptionally nice Fall and early Winter Weather this Year

And so, cold out there, no hurry to get out into it, first some more of my Christnas Fruit Cake
Then back to the Computer, I have been digging up and making Animated .gifs and Videos from old Photos
Then adding to each of 'My Days of Christmas' (as if you hadn't noticed), Added that Snow Video here for Thursday
And then made an Animated .gif of Snow Photos on the Missouri River for Friday's Blog, so what today?
Well now, I had some old Christmas Night Photos of downtown Parkville, I made an Animated .gif some time back
But I thought I could make a Video using all of the Photos I took that Night that would make a better Presentation
So I had about 25 or so Photos, I changed the aspect ratio of all of them to 1920 X 1080 to fit the Video screen
Then I used my new Video Editor to make the Video, my first Impression of the Program... I like it! and the Video went smoothly
I used one long Christmas Song for the Video and made all the Photos fit the Music, all done by Noon

I rendered the Video, uploaded it to Facebook, then burned a DVD, checked it out on my TV, looks good (to me)
And then uploaded it to my Vimeo site... OK then, for Friday the River Snow .gif and for Saturday the new Video

And then... the Day creeping along, I was looking for my Delivery to Walmart and my New Network Adapter from Amazon
Nothing showed up by 1 p.m. so I headed to the Price Chopper again, getting short on Tequila... got that...
And I used some of my Winnings to buy $35 worth of Scratchers, back to scratch off only $20, well not a total loss

Then, checked the Adapter order again online at 2:30 p.m. Says it was delivered, so up the Hill to get it

Buzzed up there in that subfreezing cold, doggone cold Day... more coming they say... sure don't like that
Opened my Box, not a very big package, was a big Envelope stuffed into the Box, some junk Mail alongside
Back down the Hill to home... Opened the Envelope, just a tiny plastic case but contained the Dongle and Install CD
One of those tiny CDs, about 1/3 the size of a usual one, read the Instructions, installed the CD
Fired up the Laptop, hunted for the Network, well yeah, said connectd to my '2 Wire 46' Network but still no Wi-Fi
So what now, I fiddled around with it, and no go, just like before... Oh well, I'll try later

And then... What's for Dinner? Hey... a T-Day rerun, Turkey, Mashed Taters, Gravy. and some Sauteed Brussells Sprouts
Yeah, a smooth and tasty filling Dinner, then on to the Movies and later on to Dreamland... Friday on the way!

Well Tuesday wasn't such a bad Day after all considering the Tooth extraction, second for the Year
I hadn't had a Tooth pulled for many years before that and I was a little concerned about the procedure
But it went quick and relatively painless so I wasn't as concerned about this latest one
The first was for Two Teeth and didn't seem to take five Minutes, this last one was breaking up and took a little longer
But it was over, headed back with the Gauze in place with pressure like the Doc said, left it in for the Two Hours
Then eased it out, no pain and no bleeding, just about over and done with, took a couple Aspirin a couple Hours later
So on to the usual day except avoiding any chewing when possible... Now on Wednesday, just fine... Mission Accomplished

And what for Wednesday, again no plans except my replacement Grow Sponges might show up at Walmart
I plan to plant some Lettuce and when my new Seeds arrive, Tomatoes and Peppers, checked for short Plants this time

And then on Thursday delivery of a USB Network Adapter is coming to try to get the Friend's Laptop back online
I checked on that after I gave up on fixing it, then found out about the external Adapter (if it works)
If it does, I'll ask him if he wants to keep my Super Laptop and get his old one back, what do you think he'll say?

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Well that chatter was on Wednesday until around 10 a.m. when I headed to the Price Chopper for a few goodies and my Lottos
I had a $5 Lotto to trade and $105 of my previous winnings still in my Pocket, bought $25 worth and lost all Five
Back then just to while away the rest of the Day with this and that... I cleaned out the empty AeroGardens
Was expecting my Grow Sponges but they didn't show up, today it says they were shipped to Walmart, so maybe later Today
Worked on Wednesday and Thursday's Blog awhile, then on to the afternoon, nothing special then, just a Burger
For Thursday... on the way... Maybe the Grow Sponges come... and I have a Network Adapter coming for my Friends Laptop
So that's enough for a 'not much' Wednesday, a busier Day for Thursday maybe?
